Dipper grabbed his coat, and ran to the train station, trying to get to Gravity Falls as fast as possible. He was determined to find Pacifica and get his memories back. Dipper bought a ticket, and sat down on the train. A stop later, a woman got on the train. Dipper could not believe his eyes. It was the girl from the photo. It was Pacifica.
Dipper walked over to Pacifica and sat next to her.
"Hey, listen, this might sound odd, but I think we used to know each other." Dipper said.
Pacifica was looking down. "Sorry, I'm not really in the mood to talk. My mom just died."
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry." Dipper replied. Dipper wasn't sure what to do. He didn't want to talk to her if she wanted to be left alone, but he also knew he needed to let Pacifica know what was going on.
"Look, I know you're in a tough situation right now, but we really need to talk." Dipper said.
"Really, just.." Pacifica started angrily. Then she looked at Dipper's face. She became perplexed.
"Why do I feel like I know you?" Pacifica said.
Dipper handed her the photo of them kissing.
"Where did you get this?" Pacifica said.
"Look, it sounds kind of crazy, but I think we used to be in a relationship, but someone didn't want us to be, so they erased our minds." Dipper said.
"I..I...I can't even remember your name. But I feel this connection with you. I can't believe it, but I think I actually believe you." Pacifica said.
"Listen, when I got this photo, all I could remember was that I ...loved you. I called my sister, and she said we were in a relationship before. She said your name was Pacifica." Dipper said.
"Yeah. That's my name." Pacifica said. "And, I can't believe I'm saying this to some guy on a train, but when I saw you...I felt like I loved you, too." Pacifica said.
"Listen, I'm headed to your father's house. I think maybe he could have some information about this." Dipper said. Even though he strongly suspected Mr. Northwest was the culprit, he didn't want to offend Pacifica.
"Wait. My father. It was him. He must've destroyed our relationship. He only liked guys he approved of." Pacifica said.
"I thought that, too. But we can't jump to conclusions." Dipper said.
"No. I am certain. It was him." Pacifica said.
"All right, we'll talk to him. I suppose you are headed there, too?" Dipper said.
"Yeah. For the funeral." Pacifica replied.
"How do you want to do it? Do you want us to confront him directly, or should we try to sneak around and try to find our memories?" Dipper said.
"Find our memories?" Pacifica asked, confused.
"Yeah. I've seen it before. When memories are removed, they go into these tubes." Dipper said.
"I don't think my dad would keep them anywhere obvious. Let's just confront him." Pacifica said.
"All right." Dipper replied.
They continued to formulate a plan during the train ride, and reintroduced themselves to each other. By the time they reached Gravity Falls, they were ready.
Dipper and Pacifica took a cab to the manor, and knocked on the door. A butler answered. He seemed startled at the sight of Dipper, but he nevertheless led them to Mr. Northwest.
"Hello, dad." Pacifica said.
"Hello, my dear." Mr. Northwest said, looking down at his desk.
He looked up, and his eyes widened. "Who is this?" he said, panic in his voice.
"I am Dipper Pines, boyfriend of your daughter. And I want my memories back." Dipper said.
"What? What are you talking about?" Mr. Northwest said.
"Look at this!" Dipper said, tossing the picture of the two kissing on to his desk. "This came in the mail. Neither of us remembers each other's names, but we can remember our love for each other."
"This is obscene! You dare accuse me of doing something like this? And on the day of your mother's funeral, no less." Mr. Northwest said, looking at Pacifica.
"Dad, I know it was you. You never let me date anyone I wanted to. I knew I loved this man at some point. Why can I not remember his name?" Pacifica said.
"I would never do something like that to my daughter! Something else must have happened!" Mr. Northwest said.
Dipper looked at Pacifica. "Maybe he's telling the truth. But all I know is, I still love you. And I'd like to continue our relationship."
Pacifica sighed. "Me too. I just can't understand what happened."
"Well, let's forget about that, and focus on the main issue today. The funeral." Mr. Northwest said.
"Listen, sir. I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot. I'd like to offer you my sincerest condolences." Dipper said.
"Thank you. A tragedy, isn't it?" Mr. Northwest said, slightly too lighthearted.
"How did it happen?" Dipper asked.
"Food poisoning. We went to a French restaurant, and some idiot chef didn't cook the chicken well enough." Mr. Northwest said.
"How sad." Dipper said.
Dipper, Pacifica, and Mr. Northwest attended the funeral, paying their respects to Mrs. Northwest. After the funeral, Dipper and Pacifica decided to head back home, where they would try to piece together their relationship again.
"Nice meeting you. And I truly apologize for my accusation." Dipper said as he boarded the train.
"Yes, good to meet you too. Goodbye." Mr. Northwest said.
"Bye, Dad." Pacifica replied.
On the way back, Dipper and Pacifica tried to get to know each other again. They shared stories of their youth, talked about their families, things they liked, and everything in between.
"You know, I somehow already feel like I've known you for months." Dipper said as the train pulled into their stop.
"Me too. My only question is, why did we lose our memories, but still keep our love for one another?" Pacifica asked.
"You can erase memories, but you can't erase love." Dipper replied.
