Chapter 6 – Not the Confession I Like…
"Raku!" yelled Yui as soon as Raku stumbled into the house. "Do you know what time it is? What were you doing?"
"I'm fine Yui-nee," said Raku not looking into her eyes. Seems like lately he can't look anybody in the eye.
"Bochan are you okay!" asked Ryu and then noticing the wound he had on his side from Ruri. "Who did this to you?! Tell me right now and I'll make sure that person won't see the light of tomorrow!"
"Ryu its fine," said Raku placing a hand over his wound. "Plus this one is my fault," whispered Raku as he walked past the worried yakuza members.
As soon as he gets into his room he collapses down on his bed and start to think of a way to tell Kosaki what he has done.
'Maybe I should just text her…no I can't tell her something that important through a text. There's no other way…I'm going to have to tell her in person and hope for the best.'
Walking into his classroom has never been this difficult, he has done it thousands of times and usually he was quite happy to walk in and see Kosaki but these last few days have been making it harder and harder to walk in. Not only was he going to hurt Kosaki but he will possibly ruin the friend group Chitoge worked so hard to have as well. Taking a deep breath, he reaches for the door and brace himself for the terrible day he's about to face.
Suddenly the door flew open and he was face to face with Chitoge as the two of them lock eye contact. There was a pause, it was only for a brief second but he could see the tears in her eyes as she pushed past him.
"I told her," said Chitoge as she walked away.
"What…," said a confused Raku but realizes instantly as soon as he sees what's going on inside the classroom.
There was a lot of chaos in the classroom but all he could focus on was Kosaki crying beside who Ruri is trying to comfort her. There were a lot of confusion and series of whispers among his classmates and people started turning theirs heads as they noticed him walking in. His classmates then all started asking a barrage of questions about who he was really dating and what did he do. None of those registered, his only focus was still Kosaki, seeing her cry tore him apart. Sure he knew that she would be hurt but actually seeing her hurting made Raku feel a hundred times worse and more foolish for cheating on her. As he pushed past everyone to get closer to her she looked up, her eyes filled with tears but even more with emotions.
She got up and grabbed Raku by his arm and pulled him out of the classroom without saying a word. It was honestly the most aggressive thing Kosaki has ever done and it even surprised Raku. She finally stopped after pulling him to the back of the school.
"Is what Chitoge said true?" asked Kosaki turning around, her eyes locked with Raku.
It was so direct, no dancing around their feelings like they had done before they started dating. "Yeah it's true. I am so sorry I hurt you," said Raku bowing his head.
Then he heard the quiet sounds of Kosaki crying and looked up. "Why?"
"I…don't have a good reason. We were faking a kiss at first to make sure Claude and the others wouldn't worry about me and you spending a lot of time together but then…"
There was a long silence after that. Raku didn't know what to do, he wanted to go up and hug Kosaki but he didn't know whether it was the right thing to do or not.
That's when Kosaki said the most unbelievable thing.
The two of them walked back to class and Ruri walked up to both of them and asked. "Did you two work it out?"
"Yeah," said Kosaki with a smile.
"That's good," said Ruri and then turned to Raku. "Sorry about the kick yesterday, I was too quick to judge."
"Well I'll see you at lunch then," said Kosaki before leaving Raku to find her seat.
"Yeah…I'll see you then."
'Chitoge…you stupid gorilla woman, why did you do this?'
As soon as school ended Raku ran as fast as possible to Chitoge's house.
"Chitoge open the door!" yelled Raku as he banged on the mansion doors. "Why did you do that?"
"Well if it was to convince your families then I guess there's nothing that can be done about that. In the end it's just a kiss, I'm just overreacting a bit by crying and making a scene. Sorry about that."
'Although it was a fake kiss at the start I definitively took it further than that, I cheated on Kosaki but she doesn't even know,' thought Raku.
"Chitoge open the door!"
"What are you doing here!? Shut up and go away!" yelled Chitoge through the intercom.
"Why did you lie to Kosaki?"
"What do you mean? Nothing is going between you and me, last week was just an accident, we were caught up in the moment and we took it a bit too far."
'An accident? What we did was an accident?' thought Raku, enraged by the reaction.
"Anyway it's for the best," said Kosaki, her voice being quieter. "You and Kosaki worked it out right?"
"This…this isn't how I wanted it to be!"
"Then what did you want to happen!?"
Silence.
"Nothing huh?" said Chitoge and cut off the intercom.
Raku stood there looking at the closed mansion door, his hand still on it. While Chitoge leaned her back against it and cried quietly. Finally Raku dropped his hand, turned around and left.
