Chapter 7

As you stepped inside you let a heavy sigh leave your lips. You just kissed Matt! Well, it was far more than just an innocent kiss. This was NOT okay, but what was worse was that you knew you'd do it again given the chance. You shouldn't be feeling this way! Matt is your good friend and you're giving him false hope. That isn't right. But also you have a boyfriend, a loving, sweet one at that! You sat down on the couch with another heavy sigh.

Should you tell Light? He deserved to know, but you kinda didn't want to admit that you'd done something so terrible to him... You wondered if Rikku had felt the same way when she first cheated on you... Tch, probably not. You rubbed your temples out of frustration and stood up properly; walking into the kitchen to start dinner. Light would be home soon... hopefully.

He'd been so busy lately that you'd been lonely. You wanted to blame the little kiss on that, but deep down you knew that that wasn't the truth. You had feelings for Matt, that was a given, even if they weren't very strong feelings. They were still there. You jumped hearing the door open, Light was home earlier than usual. Usually that'd be a good thing, but now you were nothing but nervous. You felt like he already knew and he was here to yell at you or something...

"_, I'm home." He called as he hung his coat up. It'd been getting chilly lately and he'd taken to getting a taxi instead of walking. It was a bit expensive, but it kept him from freezing to death. You walked out into the hall with a timid smile.

"Welcome home," you said. "You're early, I haven't had time to start dinner yet." You let a chuckle leave you lips, trying to not sound completely and utterly guilty. Light smiled a bit, seemingly completely oblivious. He felt there was no reason to mistrust you, you'd always been faithful and he had no reason to think otherwise.

"No dinner yet? Tsk, tsk." Light teased with a shake of his head as he approached you. "How about we go out instead?" The two of you never really went out on dates or anything of that sort. You usually worked around the house and he went to work, than you'd both go to school during the weekdays. It was a vicious cycle you'd seemed to have gotten used to rather quickly.

"Out? Really? Aren't you tired?" You asked, you didn't want him to feel pressured to go out of course. You were always perfectly okay with cooking. Said male shook his head,

"no, let's go. It'll be nice to go on a little date. I already made the reservation." He said with a smirk. You blinked rapidly, he'd planned this from the beginning. You let a small smile grace your rosy lips as you nodded.

"Sounds fun," you said as you went to slip your shoes on. Light had the taxi waiting outside for the two of you as you headed out the door. You sat down in the taxi and the two of you were headed off toward whereever Light had decided to take you this evening. You had to admit that you were a bit excited and for a short moment, you'd forgotten all about Matt. That was one of the most amazing things about Light, he'd always had somewhat of a spell over you that could draw your attention to him and only him.

"How was work?" You asked striking up conversation with the man as you sat alongside him in the taxi. He sighed shrugging a bit,

"alright, busy. Still not getting anywhere though." He grumbled. He seemed more upset about being busy than actually not getting anywhere in the case. You thought that perhaps you were just being over skeptical or something. Light wasn't the type to be against hard labor; especially when he was getting paid for it. And of course Light would never think well of a criminal like Kira... right? Of course, you knew Light, Light was your best friend, your boyfriend, you knew him better than any other. Even though you knew this, you still weren't completely convinced. Maybe you were on edge because of what happened earlier?

Light's P.O.V

_ seems a little off today. I'm not sure what it is, though. No texts from Matt it seems, since he's not answering his phone, perhaps they had a fight or something? Probably because _ doesn't want him. That's hilarious. Okay, so maybe that was rude, but that Matt kid was getting on my nerves. He's like 18, seriously, he should find someone his own age and leave _ alone. I wouldn't want to say I'm jealous, mostly because I know that I can trust _, he'd never cheat on me. And not with Matt especially!

Regardless of this, I felt like today would be a perfect day for us to have some alone time. We needed some private time to spend a romantic evening together. We've both been busy with work and school that when I get home all we usually do is eat and go to sleep. No one should live that way. Plus, I have tomorrow off and so does he; it gives us alllllll night to spend some... quality time together. I smirked at just the thought. Oh yes, tonight is going to be a very good night.

I returned my attention to said man as he spoke to me.

"How was work?" He asked randomly as we rode in the taxi to the five-star restaurant I arranged for us to go to. I sighed shrugging a bit,

"alright, busy. Still not getting anywhere though." I grumbled. I didn't mean to sound so huffy, but it was annoying trying to cover up my own tracks after all. I don't even know why I was so willing to help L catch me. Seriously, this was becoming much more time consuming than I'd recently assumed. I'm still learning to use the Death Note properly too. Not to mention, without Misa around to help and with _ being around so often, it's hard for me to find any time to actually write in it...

When it came to being Kira, I was almost certain _ wouldn't agree with what I was doing, but at the same time, I knew he wouldn't tell a soul about me either. He'd always been so secretive about not only himself, but others as well. I suppose that's part of what I adore about him. I don't like keeping secrets and I'd hoped to someday confess who and what I am to him, but for now, I know it would be a bad idea to even suggest it.

Second Person P.O.V

It took only a few short moments for the taxi to stop. Light paid for the both of you and you stode into the restaurant with the man. He was greeted at the door by the host and you were guided to a private room. Inside it was lined with a mass amounts of food, from all sorts of ethic cultures. It was a stunning set up with fancy wines and a soft vanilla scented room that was lit by candles. There was soft music playing classical music, the works. It was almost like you were in a generic chick-flick. It was flattering though and definitely unexpected.

You were seated and the waitress poured you both some wine, before you two were left to your own devices. You gazed to him with wide eyes,

"wow..." You mused. "This is... wow." Light chuckled.

"I know I've been... neglecting you lately. I thought I should treat you." He cooed with a wink. You made a plate and the two of you sat down to enjoy your meal together.

"Well, this is definitely a great start." You teased the man with a tender smile and he smirked.

"Oh, just you wait until we get home. There's definitely more planned for tonight." He told you as he gazed over at you from across the table. Shivers ran down you spine at just the thought of what was to come. You already couldn't wait. It was definitely hard sleeping next to him with all of the sexual tension between the two of you. You knew if you both weren't so tired when you laid down, you'd definitely have been intimate long before now!

"I can't wait," you confessed with a small smirk of your own. This seemed to only encourage Light as he began eating, but his gaze never left yours. Not even for a second. Dinner seemed to tick by slowly as the two of you did nothing but stare at one another heatedly. It seemed no matter what you spoke about, it all drew back to what would be taking placed AFTER dinner. You were already tingling with excitement. After what happened today, you felt you could definitely love having Light spend some quality time with you; especially like this.

You made a mental note to say goodnight to Matt early, so he wouldn't worry about you...er... so he wouldn't interrupt you two. You didn't care if he worried. Oh, you were the worst liar! You so cared. Why were you even thinking about Matt at a time like this!? You were in the middle of a romantic evening with your boyfriend who was NOT MATT! You don't need to be thinking about another man at a time like this.

"Ready to leave?" Light asked with a sly smirk. That was enough to pull you from your thoughts and you nodded. Light had simply thought you were thinking about him and not another man. What else other than him could make you daze in such a fashion? He stood and you stood with him. Light paid for your dinner, though wouldn't dare let you see just how much he'd paid. He then walked back out to the taxi waiting outside and got in with him.

"Did you enjoy dinner?" He asked you and you nodded.

"Yeah, the food was great. Thank you." You cooed to the man as he nodded. He leaned back in his seat, before leaning a bit toward you.

"Perfect," he whispered as his lips met yours in a soft kiss. It was demanding in its own regard, but not at all rough. It was a mixture of controlling and light. It wasn't at all as sweet and submissively loving as Matt's kisses were. You weren't sure if this was a positive thing or not. You liked Matt's kisses, but you also liked Light's kisses. It was strange really, how you felt. You returned the kiss, soft smile gracing your lips as you leaned a bit more into the tender kiss.

Light soon parted from you as the taxi came to a halt. Oh how eager the two of you were to get out as Light paid for your little trip and you both were on your way inside of the house. You both knew exactly what was to come and it was an understatement to say that you both were eager. You waited for Light to unlock the door and the both of you stepped inside, the door shutting and locking behind you, shielding the world from just what was to happen.
