A/N: sorry this took a while to get out, but I hope you all enjoy this chapter; also I put a Power Rangers and a Hobbit reference in here to, see if you can find them.

Chapter Seven: The Depths

One night on Scuttlebutt Island…

"Ah this is nice, a full moon, a beautiful lake and a full moon to top it off" seventeen year old Hank said to girlfriend as they sat on the beach of Scuttlebutt Island "Not to mention a wonderful girl at my side"

"Humph, for a second I thought you forgot me" his girlfriend Heather scoffed playfully before giving him a soft peck on the cheek

The two young lovers had both snuck out of their respective parent's homes in order to take Hank's boat out to the little island on the lake to have some privacy under the moonlight. With a soft giggle, Heather jump to her feet and jogged over to the lake, pulling off her shirt as she did.

"Are you coming or what?" she cooed to him as she slipped into the water

The hormonally driven teenage boy could only grin as he fallowed his girlfriend into the lake, however when he waist deep in the water he felt something smooth rub against his leg. He instinctively looked down to see what had touched him, but the water was too murky to make out anything, not to mention it was night so that didn't help either.

"Something wrong, babe?" Heather asked "It's nothing it was probably a fi-Ah! "

Without warning, Hank was suddenly under the dragged under water. At first his lover thought he was pulling a joke on her, but after a few seconds the area where he was formally standing it remained deathly still. This made the fellow teen being to feel fear creep up her spine.

"…Hank?…"

she whispered in terror under her breath It was then that something latched onto her legs under the water and pulled beneath the surface with the same speed and ferocity as before, the poor girl didn't even have enough time to scream before she was dragged under. Moments later after both lovers vanished within the lake, a pool of dark red rose up from below to float on the surface while at the same time a dark shadow beneath the lakes water swiftly and silently moved into the deeper part of its home, looking for more prey to consume.

It had been four days since Dipper's battle with Gideon's plant creature and neither he nor the rest of his group had encountered another giant monster and it goes without saying that they wanted to keep it that way. However they feared that another monster might just be around the corner to either try to kill the Dragon or try to devour Stan and the others, it was because of this reason that Soos came up with an idea: training. So against Stan's protests, Dipper, Mabel, Soos and the con-artist himself traveled deep into the forest so that the beast could study some new moves so in the event of another battle, the fire-breather would have an advantage.

"Ok Dipper, first off we're going to learn how to shoot a fire-ball" the man-child began before pointed to a tree "Now focus and try to shoot one at that tree over there"

Dipper (who had healed since from his wounds and was back to full strength) locked his eyes on the tree his friend was pointing to and summoned up the power within himself and form it in his throat to form a ball of flames rather than a stream of it, which was much easier said than done.

"Come on Dipper, you can do it!" his human sibling cheered as she, her pig and her great-uncle sat on a rock a few feet away "imagine you're hawking up a big lugi of burning death!"

The Dragon reared his head back and opened his mouth to launch a ball of fire from it, but what came out was a pillar of flames like always. The fire incinerated the target tree in mere seconds and by the look on the beast's face he was clearly not happy with the results at all.

"It's cool dude, you'll get the hang of-"

Soos's words were silenced when Dipper let out a savage roar right in the man-child's face, making him fall backward and the sheer force of his monstrous friend's breath. The giant reptile then opened his wings and took off into the air without a second thought about leaving behind his friend and family.

"He been having more of those temper tantrums lately" Stan pointed out as he and his grand-niece watched him fly off "It's getting a more and more unsafe to be around him, just yesterday he nearly tore down the mountain when he thought he lost a gold coin"

"He's just upset that Wendy hasn't been around since her head injury" Mabel explained "I'm sure he'll settle down when she gets back"

"And what if he doesn't?" the old man replied "He may be your brother Mabel, but he's a Dragon now and who knows how long till he forgets who he is and turns on us"

"Don't talk like that Grunkle Stan, Dipper would never do that!" Mabel defended her sibling while inwardly fearing that might just happen

"I hope your right kid, because I do not want to end up a Stan-kabob" her great-uncle answered before he realized something "ah crap! Dipper was our way back home! Now where lost out here!"

"Relax; I'm sure Soos remembered which way it was back to the Mystery Shack, right Soos?" the hyperactive girl asked her older friend

"What?" he shouted as he held his hand up to his ears "Say that again?"

"Oh great, he's deaf!" Mr. Mystery whined "Beth? Who's Beth?" Soos called out

Stan face palmed and let out a sigh in both disappointment and frustration, it was way too early in the morning to deal with any of on the other hand could only look up at the now empty sky and wonder just where did her brother take off to.

As Wendy stepped out of the shower, she had a feeling that something was off. For the past few days after the plant monster battle, Wendy's father had kept inside the house so she could heal in peace, all the while the red-head mind always wandered back to her winged guardian and counting the days until she could be at his side again.

She grabbed a towel off of the rack before wrapping it around her body before walking out of her bathroom and into her bedroom where she found the source of her strange feeling looking in through the opened window of her bedroom: a Dragon's eye. She instinctively yelped in surprise at the eye before quickly remembering just who's eye that belong to and her emotions went from surprised to confusion.

"How did you find my home Dipper?" she questioned "You've never seen my house, unless you…"

Her words drifted off when she figured out what had allowed her reptilian friend to discovery her home as her face went red with embarrassment, it was of course her scent that lead him here and considering the fact that he had a heighten sense of smell, the teenager easily deduced that he could smell her from at least ten miles away. Now he was, looking in on her like some monstrous peeping tom with her father and brothers sound asleep in her house.

"Great, there's a Dragon standing right next to my bedroom window and my whole freaking family is here!" she mentally panicked

The giant beast let out a low rumble escape his mouth as his eye narrowed at her as a way of greeting her, but he was instantly quieted down when his precious human quickly put her finger to her lips and sshd him.

"Do you want my dad to hear you?" she told him harshly "If he see's you, he's going to more than freak out!"

The beast snorted at her words, he clearly didn't care if her father saw him or not; he showed no fear of the human. He then stuck the tip of his nose through the window to nuzzle her, to which she kissed his nose again.

"I know you missed me and I missed you a lot to, but you seriously need to leave right now before-"Wendy attempted to say

As she spoke she heard the door to her room open. With lightning fast speed, the red-head reached out and shut her windows curtains in order to keep the monster's massive eye from her unwanted visitor's sight. She then spun around to find one of her brothers standing before her, looking confused.

"Were you talking to yourself?" her sibling asked

"Um, of course not!" she defended "I was…talking on my phone!"

"But your phone is on your bed" her brother commented, a bit more confused now

"Look just forgot about that, what do you want Jason?" she demanded

"We heard a noise outside, it sounding like an animal-like a really big animal" the boy answered

Wendy's whole body when stiff in fear, she inwardly prayed that her brothers had not seen her monstrous scale-covered boyfriend.

"Dad's fast asleep and we're too scared to see what's out there" he continued "could you check to see what's out there?"

Little known fact about Wendy's brothers: they could be such wimps sometimes. Despite their rouge personality and their father's guidance, they still needed their big sister sometimes to chase away the monsters that hide under their bed, though on occasion she would sometimes prey on their fears and this was going to be one such time.

"Oh alright I'll see what it is" she replied in an annoyed voice as she pretended to opened the window and look outside, ignoring Dipper"There's nothing out there"

"Are you sure? It sounded really big" her brother commented

"I don't see anything" she said in a fake dark tone "Maybe it was the Dragon of Gravity Falls"

"T-The What?" Jason nervously asked "Go back to your room and I'll tell you, David and Frank the rest of the story when I'm dressed"his elder sister explained

Her younger brother nodded and quickly exited her bedroom and allowed his sibling to change into her cloths; she then opened the window again in order to speak to the beast still standing next to her house. She knew that he wouldn't leave her house without taking her with him and honestly she wanted to go with him anyway.

"Alright I'll go with you, but first I need to get my brothers back to sleep" the ginger informed the Dragon to which he growled in response

With that Wendy closed the window again before heading to her three brothers room, where she found all three of them huddled together in one bed as if the creature that their sister had described to Jason was right outside the house ready to consume them (which was not too far from the truth)

"Are you guys scared of the Dragon?" she asked as she sat down on the foot of the bed "No, there's no such thing as a Dragon!" David defended "We're just…huddled together for warmth!"

"Oh the Dragon's real and he lives at the top of the mountain that looks over the forest, surrounded by a giant pile of gold and jewels" the teenager began in a dramatic voice "His teeth are like swords, his claws are like spears and the whip of his tail is like the crack of a thunderbolt!"

As Wendy told her story, her brothers began to visibly shake in terror; their imagination was clearly running wild in their heads at the mere thought of such a terrifying beast that might exist, if they only knew the truth that that very creature was right outside their very home, they would surly die of fright. Wendy on the other hand, couldn't get enough of scaring the ever loving shit out of her younger siblings.

"The flap of his wings are like hurricanes!" she continued the story "and his breath…death!"

Meanwhile outside, Dipper was growing ever more impatient to be done with her brothers and wanted her outside with him at once, to get his point across he let out an irritated snarl to get his message across, however his vocal demands weren't just heard by his beloved human, but also her siblings as well. The already terrified kids were as of right now freaking out.

"It's the Dragon!" Frank wailed "it's gonna eat us!"

"Oh settle down you three, it's just a story!" their sister ordered, keeping them from looking outside "It was just the wind, go to bed"

Still shaking, the three kids nodded their heads in understanding and went back to their separate beds to try and at least get some sleep. After they went to bed, Wendy quietly walked out of the house and headed to the backyard to have her meet up with her lover.

"You need to learn some patience Dipper!" she scolded "if either my dad or my brothers saw you, then they'd never let me near you again and you'd be hauled off to god knows where!"

The beast made a casual grunt in response to that, as if he didn't seem to care if her family saw her with him. Dipper then lowered himself down so that Wendy could climb unto his back as always, once she had secured herself on his back, the Dragon launched off into the air.

flying for now a third didn't bother the teenager as much as it did the first two times, she felt a bit safer knowing that Dipper wouldn't allow anything bad to her as he flew, in fact she was beginning to enjoy the feeling of flying, especially at night with only the moon and stars as the only lights around them. As they flew, Wendy began to contemplate her current situation on where she stood with Dipper right now. As of right now she considered him her lover, but for what reason, he wasn't human anymore and as far as she knew there may not be a way to change him back. She began to regret that she didn't feel this way about the boy sooner before this happened to him; however she knew that at least was still inside this new body and still greatly cared for her. On the other hand through, she had to take in the fact that that they would not to be able to have a functional relationship in this state, they would never be able to go to the movies or the mall or be able to even share a real kiss.

"Just my luck, I fall in love with the right guy for once and he turns into a giant fire-breathing lizard" she grimly thought to herself

It was that her cell phone rang, pulling her out of her troubled thoughts. She saw it was Mable she answered it in an instant, fearing that they were being chased by another giant monster.

"Are you guy's ok?" she asked in a worried tone

"Well, not exactly" the young girl replied "is Dipper with you by any chance?"

"Yeah I'm riding on him right now, why do you ask?" the teen answered who was now confused

"Tell him to pick us up right now" the sweater-wearing girl said sternly "He ditched us in the woods hours ago and we've been walking around in circles"

"Why would he do that?" Wendy questioned further "I think he wanted to go find you" the monster's sister reasoned "tell him to come get us and take us back to the Mystery Shack"

"I'll do that Mabel, we'll be there soon" the read head said before hanging up the phone and sending her (kind of) boyfriend a glare "Turn your scaly ass around and pick them up right now!" she commanded through her teeth

The winged beast quickly nodded in response and turned around to go find his family members and the now deaf man-child.

After dropping off Stan, Mabel and Soos, Dipper and Wendy returned to his cave where they then slept in the company of one another in peace, however the same should not be said for the following mourning, which was greeting by the sound Wendy's cellphone going off at the crack of dawn.

"Oh what now?" she groaned in a drowsy haze before answering "Hello?"

"You better have a damn good reason why you're not home Wendy!" her father's voice snapped over the phone

"D-Dad! Uh-I'm sorry, but I left for work early today, Mr. Pines needed me to restock some things!" she explained, now fully awake

"You're supposed to be healing from your head injury here at home" he said still angry "and besides, when have you ever cared about going to work early?"

"It's alright dad, besides if I stayed any longer in the house I would've gone nuts" the lumberjacks daughter replied "by the way I'll be staying the nights at Tambry's house, is that ok?"

"Oh fine, but I want you to take it easy while you're at work ok sweetie?" her farther said with a defeated sigh

"Thanks daddy, I gotta go, love you!" she thanked before hanging up her end of the line before he had a chance to say goodbye

All the commotion that had occurred had awoken the gingers winged lover who was curled up around her and judging by the look in his eye, he was differently not a mourning person.

"Sorry about that big guy, it was just my dad calling me" the teenager explained as she stroked the side of his face "go back to sleep"

The Dragon let out a yawn and rose his head up as he began to stretch his limbs and wings, indicating that he was not going back to his slumber and readied himself for whatever came at him today. At that very moment, Wendy's phone went off again, this time it was her employer.

"Hey Stan, what's up?" she asked "Nothing life threatening for once" he replied "Actuality, Mabel had this idea of just spending the day at the lake on Scuttlebutt Island, she said that we need to unwind from all the monster attacks"

"Why there?" the red-head questioned

"It's surrounded by a fog and it's big enough for Dipper to roam around without anyone able to see him" the old man explained "Soos is getting my boat ready now, we'll see you when you two get there"

"Alright Stan, but I think you'll be the ones meeting us there instead" his employee replied as she looked over to the Dragon, who already had his wings unfurled for the trip

Queen Nara watched from her orb as the human mounted the fire-breather once more and fly off toward the lake. She had been observing the beast and his precious human ever since their battle against Gideon and his plant creature, not just because she was curious to see what would happen next, but also because she wanted to find the trickster who was behind the boy's transformation into the winged beast that now stalked the forest.

"Looking for someone?" a voice casually asked The leader of the Wood Elves looked up from her orb and saw the person she was searching for causally leaning up against the side of one of her throne room's trees with his arms crossed and still in the guise of an old man.

"Word around the forest is that you've been searching for me" the magical being continued "Oh by the way if you're wondering where your precious Valko is, he's sleeping peacefully outside, he'll wake up when I leave"

"You have a lot of nerve to come into my kingdom and in the guise a mortal no less" Nara said darkly "Sometimes I do not know if you are very clever or very arrogant"

"Oh it's a bit of column 'A' and a bit of column 'B' your majesty" the trickster responded with a devilish smirk "also do you like the disguise? I've noticed that mortals don't really suspect their elderly to be well…like me!"

"I will never understand why you are so obsessed with pulling your tricks on humans" the Wood Elf mentioned "did you learn nothing for your last few escapades in the centuries past?"

"I like humans, they have a sense of humor, you on the other hand have none" the magical being explained as he teleported himself right next to her throne

"Well this time you have gone too far!" the queen declared "you turned that boy into the most dangerous beast this world has ever known!"

"I just wanted to have a little fun, is that so wrong Nara?" the 'old man' replied "besides, hasn't the Dragon been doing you a favor of killing all of those other giant monsters?"

Nara shot the trickster a glare at bringing up that fact, true she was happy that the monster slew several giant creatures that could have become a threat to her people, granted two of those creatures were brought about by the being who she currently talking to, but she still felt like she was abusing the situation.

"And let's not forget that you've sent those Gnomes off to free that creature from the vault, knowing that it was a bad idea" her unwanted guest continued "And we both know it wasn't out of the goodness of your two hearts"

"What are you asking of me then?" Nara asked in more weaker tone, knowing that she was found out

"It's simple: just sit back and watch how everything goes down from here on out" the trickster answered "and if you even think of telling lord Oberon about any of this, I'll tell him about the plan you had for using the Gnomes and he'll be just as mad with you as he will be at me and I'm pretty sure you don't want that now do you?"

The leader of the Wood Elves gritted her teeth and slammed her fist on the arm rest of her throne in frustration, if the lord of all magical beings found out what she had manipulated the Gnomes to do for her then that would be the end of her reign as queen and her people would be left leaderless, so has much as she hated it, she had to give into his demands.

"Very well…I will…agree to the terms" she forced herself to say to him

"Excellent choice Nara!" he happily replied as he created a chair and a bowl of pop-corn right next to her throne "Now let's see if your little fire-breather can handle what awaits him and his friends on Scuttlebutt Island"

After a quick flight, Dipper and Wendy arrived on the island in a matter of minutes. As the teenager climbed off of the beast, she noticed that his eyes were scanning the area around them for anything out of the ordinary, which was a safe thing to do considering the past few monster encounters. While the fog was thick around the island itself, it wasn't so bad once they were within it; however it was better that they stuck together until Stan, Mabel and Soos arrived later on.

"You know this acutely my first time on Scuttlebutt Island" Wendy mentioned to her scaly lover as they walked along the fog covered bank "I always thought it was kind of creepy, you know what I mean?"

Normally Dipper would make a vocalization of some sort as a way of acknowledging the red-heads words, but instead she only received silence in return. The ginger turned around to see the Dragon looking down at his reflection in the water with a look of sorrow in his yellow reptilian eyes; he suddenly took his claws and slashed at his mirror image in the water as he made an angry hiss as well, not wanting to see what he had become. Seeing his obvious distress, Wendy walked up to him and gently hugged his right front leg, showing that she still cared for him not matter what he looked like.

"I promise you we'll find a way to cure you Dipper" she assured him and herself"No matter how long it takes, we will find a way"

It was then that they heard the growing sound of a motorboat boat getting closer to where they were; sure enough it was Stan and the others approaching the island.

"Took you guy's long enough" Wendy greeted the trio "We would've been here sooner if Soos hadn't forgot the cooler" her boss replied sharply

"I thought you said bueller, that's why I started making all those movie references Mr. S" the heavy-set man spoke up as he helped his boss unpack the things they brought with them

"His hearing isn't all the way back since Dipper roared at him" Mabel mentioned to her friend before looking over to her brother "maybe someone should learn to control his temper better?"

The giant reptile snorted at her words before making his way deeper into the island before anyone could protest.

"Shouldn't we go after him?" the monster's lover asked "He'll come back, he's just a little grumpy at the fact that I'm right" the sweater wearing child responded "Speaking of Dipper, there's something I've been meaning to talk to you about"

"Sure Mabel, what's on your mind?" the teenager said, thinking that what her young friend wanted to asked was nothing big

"Are you in love with my brother?" she questioned in a serious tone

Ok, so she wasn't expecting that.

"Uh, w-what would make you say that Mabel?" Wendy stammered out in embarrassment

"I saw you kiss Dipper after the fight with Gideon's plant monster" the girl explained "and for a while now I've noticed how you've been acting around him lately"

The teenager knew that she had been caught and it was probably for the better, considering she wanted to talk about her feeling for the creature and who better than the beast's sister.

"Yes Mabel, I am in love with him" she finally admitted "even before all this happened I started to care for him as more than just a friend, but how can I love him when he's become that monster?"

"I may not have a lot experience when it comes to this stuff, but I do know that Dipper loves you as well and when this is all over you two will make an amazing couple" Mabel answered "besides, you're the only thing keeping him in check, in fact I'm pretty sure that if anything happened to you, he'd turn the entire state Oregon into a pile of ash and I'm pretty sure none of us want that"

"But what if we don't find a cure Mabel?" Wendy responded "what if it was permanent? How do I love a Dragon?"

"We just need to stay hopeful Wendy, that's all we can do" the hyperactive girl reasoned "and hey if worse comes to worst, we still have enough of that potion to turn you into a Dragon as well and you two can live happily ever after burning Gravity Falls to the ground"

Now there was an interesting concept, turning herself into a fire-breathing behemoth was something Wendy never thought of before. She started to imagine what it would be like to have all that power coursing through her veins, not to mention what it would be like starting to raise a clutch of Dragon hatchlings with Dipper as the proud papa. The ginger had to pull herself out of her imagination before she got a bit to in depth with it and wanted to make into reality.

"Come on, let's go see what Dipper's gotten himself into" Mabel suggested before turning to her Grunkle Stan"We'll see you in a bit"

"Hey get back here and help me set up these chairs!" the old man shouted at the two girls as they took off into the island in search of the giant reptile

Barry the beaver lived a simple life on Scuttlebutt Island; he chewed on wood and built damns all day and slept all night only to do it all over again the next day. Like all beavers, his life was literally built around building and taking down wooden dams and that was the extent of his life, he couldn't tell you what two plus two became or the secrets of the universe because a beaver didn't have time to think on those things.

Though to be fair Barry wasn't thinking about anything at the moment, on the account that he was currently nothing more than a mangled burnt corpse that was stuck in between a giant flying lizard's teeth who swooped down on him and his family and consumed them while also burning them alive with what felt like a raging ball of hellfire.

As Dipper finished his quick meal, he noticed Wendy and Mabel coming up to him out of the coroner of his eye. The two girls saw the carnage he inflicted while he was hunting his tiny prey, he had scorched the area where the rodents once called home and left several roasted bodies that he didn't bother eating scattered over the burnt ground. To Dipper, it was just the natural order of life, but to the girls, it was a massacre.

"Jesus Dipper, talk about overkill!" the teenager commented "you must have been hungry"

"You're not even full are you bro?" his sister to which he shook his head in response before snatching up another corpse to feast on At that moment Stan called his grand-niece on her cellphone.

"Where are you guys?" he questioned over the phone "Did you find Dipper?"

"Yeah we found him, he's eating a beaver right now" Mabel replied

"Huh, I didn't think Wendy was into that kind of stuff" Stan said "I mean Dipper's so big, but then again that new forked tongue of his could- "

"No I mean his eating a beaver he found on the island" the young girl explained

"Oh…man I was totally thinking of something else…" the old man mentioned in a bit of an embarrassed tone of voice

"What was that all about Dipper's tongue?" the sweater loving girl asked in a curious voice

"Eh-you'll understand when your fourteen kid" her great uncle answered "Just get back to the beach, Soos says he found something"

"Sure thing Grunkle Stan!" Mabel said before hanging up the phone "we have to get back to the beach, Soos's found something he wants all to see"

"Knowing him, it's probably a rock that looks like Mother Teresa" Wendy responded before looking over to her beloved monster

"come on big guy, let's go see what all the fuss is about"

The Dragon nodded in acknowledgement, he then lowered him down to let his sister and his lover climb unto his back and made his way back to where Stan and Soos were in order to see what the handyman had discovered.

As Dipper, Wendy and Mabel came onto the scene, the found Stan and Soos standing over some sort of cylinder shaped object that was laying on its side and judging back the worried look in their eyes, the trio could tell that nothing good would come of this.

"So what have you got?" Wendy questioned as she and Mabel climbed off of the beasts back

"See for yourselves" was all Soos said

The girls and the Dragon got closer to see what was causing such distress to the two men. Once they were near enough they saw the reason why: a barrel of spilled toxic waste.

"How the hell did this get here?" the ginger wondered out loud

The four humans and the fire-breather turned their gaze from the barrel to the elderly man who was currently whistling an innocent tune as if nothing was wrong in the world.

"What? You think I had something to do with this?" he defended himself to which the rest of the group nodded in unison "Alright fine-yes it was me! A few years ago I 'acquired' the toxic waste from the local power planet so I could put it in my toxic mutant's exhibit, but the stuff was deemed 'too dangerous to the public', so I bought it out here so nature could deal with it instead of me!"

"Wow Stan, when you screw up, you go all out" Wendy mentioned

"Hey blame that lousy heath inspector!" Stan shot back "he had out for me just because I called his wife a bitch at the grocery store!"

As Stan continued to defend himself, the group failed to notice a long red eel-like organism slowly creep out of the lake as it slithered its way closer and closer to Mabel's leg.

"And besides it's not like it's endangered the wildlife in way that it could be traced back to me!" the con-artist continued

Right after Stan had said that, the eel-like thing quickly wrapped around Mabel's ankle and began to drag her into the water, her cry for help got everyone's attention and the three humans attempted to pull her back, but the pace of how fast the girl was being dragged, she was already in the water before they could even get a hold of her. Dipper darted into the lake after his sibling, not fearing whatever awaited him below the depths.

Dragon's are not suited for underwater travel, their wings cannot double for fins and their fire is completely useless, not to mention the obvious fact that Dragon's cannot breath underwater, however the winged behemoth ignored all the dangers to his health and tried his best to keep up with whatever was pulling his sister further into the water even though his reptilian anatomy couldn't handle swimming.

With all his strength, Dipper reached out with his claws and snatched the thing that had a hold on Mabel and pulled her free, he then wrapped his tail around her waist and lifted her up toward the surface, hoping Stan and the other would fetch her. As he held the object Dipper looked closer at it, at first glance he thought it was a tail, but with he flipped the 'tail' upside down he saw that this was no tail of a sea serpent; it was a tentacle. Suddenly four more enormous tentacles emerged from the depths of the lake and began to constrict around the Dragon's wrists which was then followed by the owner of the massive appendages: a giant octopus.

The octopus was about eighty-feet in length with a blood red skin texture along with a pair of emerald green eyes that had a look of hunger in them like that of the Thunderbird that Dipper battled several days ago. And just like the Thunderbird, the fire-breather had every intention on killing this challenger. Dipper tried to bit himself free, only to have another tentacle wrap around his mouth, keeping him free not only from finding a way to break away from the octopus's grip, but also to make him drown faster. Even though he was caught in a death trap, the winged beast did his best to keep Mabel above the water as much as possible, but another tentacle was starting to pull his last free appendage down into the depths as well.

Meanwhile on the island, Wendy and the others were wasting no time in trying to rescue Mabel; however Stan's boat was not cooperating with them that well.

"Oh come on you piece of shit work!" the old man shouted at the motor as he slammed his fist on it

"Why hasn't Dipper come up yet?" Wendy asked aloud in a worried tone

"Something must be down their dude!" Soos answered "it's keeping him from coming back up for air!"

"Dipper can handle whatever's down there, right now we need to save Mabel before she's dragged back under" Mr. Mystery pointed out

Without giving it another thought, Stan leapt into the water and started to swim toward his grand-niece as fast as he could. When he got to her, he used all his strength to pull her free from the Dragon's tail before it went completely under and bring her back to shore, but there was a problem: Mabel wasn't breathing.

"Do either of you know CPR?" he demanded as he pulled out of the water

"I do!" Wendy spoke up "set he down on the ground now!"

As the red-head began the procedure, Stand and Soos could only look on with fear in their hearts as the little girl laid on the ground ever so still.

Back underwater, things weren't fairing any better for Dipper either. He thrashed about as hard as he could, but the octopus's grasp on him was too strong and it was beginning to tighten with every passing second. The sea monster then used its remaining tentacles to make sure it's hold on its now helpless prey was absolute by holding down any part of him that could move to make sure that he wouldn't slip away from it and get back to the surface. The pressure of tentacles was beginning to take its toll on the winged reptile's body as his vision began to grow dark from the constriction around him and the lack of oxygen as well as his heartbeat starting to slow down. The octopus then began to pull his now dying prey toward its beak to consume. Just before he blacked out, the Dragon saw a large dark shape rushing toward the octopus with incredible speed; the figure rammed into the fire-breather's captor like a cannonball and proceeded to bite down on one of its tentacles, making it release its hold on the Dipper.

While the sea beast reeled back in pain, the mysterious savior swam up to the Dragon and began to push him toward the surface. Once he was above the water, Dipper took flight out of the lake, deeply inhaling the air he was denied while he was underwater. The beast's resurgence did not go unnoticed by his over-weight friend.

"There he is!" Soos declared as he pointed to the flying monster "He's ok!"

Neither Stan nor Wendy looked away from Mabel, who still wasn't berthing despite getting the proper treatment.

"Come on kid wake up!" her great uncle begged

Wendy kept up breathing into her young friends mouth and pump her chest, after several chest pumps, the girl's mouth erupted with water as she coughed up the liquid, she gasped for air as she got unto her knees.

"Oh thank god!" Stan exclaimed in joy as hugged his grand-niece tightly

"W-where's Dipper?" Mabel weakly asked

Her answer came in the form of an enraged roar from her brother. The group turned to see the Dragon flying furiously in circles around a spot on the lake, shooting fire down in it as he did, however his flames could not piece through the water and hit his target. He then dive bombed back into the lake so that he could aid his unknown ally and slaughter the creature that attacked his sibling. As he submerged himself once again, he could see the giant octopus locked trying to capture a slightly smaller sea creature.

The other sea creature was sea serpent with dark green skin and flippers along with long jagged fangs sticking out of its mouth. Dipper's mind still could not remember everything from his days as a human, but somewhere in his memories, he seemed to recall a creature that he and his sister sought out alongside Soos; a creature called the Gobblewonker.

He no idea as to why the sea serpent came his aid, but Dipper would not abandon his rescuer to a fate he almost fell to. He darted forward with his claws at the ready, but the massive cephalopod smacked him aside with one of its many powerful appendages, knocking him to the lake bed. The Gobblewonker rushed at the now distracted for and once again bit down on a tentacle, only the time it managed to snap it half with its mighty jaws. While now seven armed enemy pulled away from the two out on pain, the Dragon recoiled and tackled the sea monster with his claws digging into its middle section, forcing the octopus to the bottom of the lake. Dipper's partner grabbed a hold of another tentacle and ripped it off while the winged beast himself started to sink his claws deeper into the gigantic cephalopod; he then reached out with his teeth and bit out one of the octopus's eyes.

Suddenly the multi-armed monster pushed the fire-breather off its person and fired a wall of black ink out of its body as it attempted to flee, which was something neither giant reptile was going to allow. The two giant beasts tore through the cloud of ink like bats out of hell and slammed into the fleeing invertebrate with the force of a hundred torpedoes, knocking back onto the ground, only to be swatted back by a powerful tentacle. The octopus the snatched the winged beast by the throat and began to squeeze, strangling him with all its Gobblewonker attempted to rescue its comrade, but was knock away again by their mutual enemy, making it unable to help to rescue its ally.

Dipper was blanking out again, he needed to go back up for air again, but he couldn't break free of the tentacle around his throat no matter how hard he trashed about against its powerful death grip. In a last ditch effort to get back to the surface, he opened his wings and used them furiously swat at the wounded sea monster's face, making it let go as it back away once again.

The Dragon took no time to swim upwards to at least bring his head out of the water and deeply breathe in another huge gulp of air before going back under to finish what he started. He found the octopus attempting to flee yet again with the sea serpent chasing after it, snapping at its remaining limbs as it did. The winged monster came down on the wounded aquatic creature and took hold of one of its many arms and started to drag it upward to world above the water where he then flung the now six limbed titan toward Scuttlebutt Island, which needless to say was a total shock to the group of humans that standing on the edge of it.

"Incoming dudes!" Soos exclaimed as the oncoming monster fell toward them

Wendy snatched up the still weakened Mabel as she and the other humans ran out of the way just as the creature hit the ground. While octopus was still dazed from fall, Dipper exploded out of the water and flew high into the sky where he them rained a pillar of fire down unto the wounded sea monster, roasting it alive in mere moments. The Dragon's human friends had to shield themselves behind some large rocks as the giant reptile kept pouring on the flames at his adversary until its life slipped away from its body. Once Dipper was through with his attack, it was then that the handyman got a good look at beast that his friend had just slain.

"Oh no way, it's Napoleon!" he said with both shock and joy in his voice "Well, what's left of him anyway"

"Who's Napoleon?" Wendy asked

"He was my pet octopus back when I younger" the man-child explained "I had to get rid of him when he was getting to big for his tank, so I left him at the lake so he could be free; although come to think of it Napoleon was a salt-water octopus, so how did he survive all these years?"

"Well I think we know the answer to that" the teenager mentioned as she pointed to the barrel of toxic waste "Stan's toxic waste must have mutated your octopus and who god knows what else in the lake"

"Guy's…" Mabel began to say as she something beginning to rise out of the lake "I think one of those other sea-mutants is looking for some payback!"

The group watched as another monster of the deep emerged to make in presence and as it did, Mabel and Soos's jaws hugged open in amazement. The new sea monster did not advance toward them or try to attack the winged behemoth; it merely looked up at the fellow giant reptile in curiosity.

"It's the real Gobblewonker!" they cried out in unison "What do you mean real Gobblewonker?" the red-head inquired, but just as the two were tell the story she stopped them "on second, I don't want to know, I've dealt with enough of this insanity already"

"Why isn't it attacking us or trying to get at Dipper from that matter?" Stan commented as he looked up at his still air-born grand- nephew

It took a few minutes of thinking, but the so called 'Dragon expert' figured a logical explanation for the sea serpents behavior.

"Oh man how could I have not seen earlier!" he began, slapping his forehead as he did "the Gobblewonker thinks Dipper is like some sort of relative of it and came his rescue when he was fighting Napoleon"

"So it thinks' Dipper's like its cousin or something?" Stan mentioned

"Or maybe it wants Dipper to be its mate" Soos added on, to which Wendy grimaced at that while she kept her face away from the two older men

"Looks like you might have some competition Wendy" Mabel joked in a whisper

"Oh hush!" the teenager responded sharply

The Dragon let out a roar as a way of thanking his new ally, to which it replied back with a roar of its own before diving back into the depths of the lake. With their fun day now ruined, Dipper flew back down to retrieve his friends and take them back home and away from the charred battlefield.

"Oh ho, now that was a fight eh Nara?" the trickster inquired to the queen

"It was barbaric" was all the Wood Elf answered in a disgust tone of voice

"How can you enjoy such things?"

The two had just finished watching the boy turned monster strike down another monster in his path, to which the trickster was very pleased with while the fellow spectator was less than thrilled.

"Oh come on your highness, you can't tell me that wasn't the least bit exciting for you?" the other magical being replied "

I saw only death and fury and nothing more!" she snapped back, her eyes glowing furiously

"Settle down Nara it was just a simple question" the 'old man' responded "speaking of questions, why are you letting the Gnomes free that creature from the vault?"

Their came a silence from the queen, she turned away from the trickster as she hung her head low in shame.

"That thing isn't your father anymore, it's nothing more than a mindless monster" he continued on

"Tell me; is there cure for the boy?" Nara asked sternly as changed the subject

The trickster could clearly see that he wasn't going to get his answers, so he figured he would deny the queen any information he had. "Maybe there is and maybe there isn't" he said before he began to fade away

"I'll be seeing you soon Nara" With that, the trickster left the leader of the Wood Elves alone in her throne room to let what she had done hang over her like a noose.

Dan Corduroy sat in his living room chair alone with a beer in one hand and the TV remote in the other, flipping through channels in an attempt to find something worth his time. His daughter was once again sending the night at a friend's house and his son's were off playing in backyard. he hated staying home all day, but due to the strange wildfires that happened weeks ago, he was still laid off until further notice.

He was starting to grow worried on how to provide for his children if he couldn't find some form of income soon, if anything else he would love to get his giant hands on whoever started those fires in the first place and pummel them into the dirt and then some. Just then, he heard a loud knock at the front door. The lumberjack grumbled to himself in annoyance before setting down his things and picking up his ax which he left at his side, he was not in the mood to be bothered right now by some random stranger.

"I swear if it's another one of those damn vacuum salesmen I'm gonna spilt them in half!" he said to himself before opening the door

However Instead of a salesman, Dan found a familiar face standing before him with his straw hat off and looking up at him with hope in his eyes.

"Hiya Dan!" Old Man Mcguket greeted cheerful "I'm working on a pretty big project and I could sure use your help on it"

A/N: I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, also in case anyone didn't catch the Power Ranger reference I named Wendy's three brothers separately after Jason David Frank who was the actor who played the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, I watched a few reruns a while ago and was like 'that would be fun to do'. It's odd sometimes how my brain works.
