Hiya! Thanks ShadAmy Fangirl for the positive reviews! Here is surgeon Shadow in action![Sort of….] Also, sorry for not updating in...how long has it been, a month? Shadow's POV: Let me be clear. Blood, does not scare me. Seeing your look alike on an operating table with a railroad spike through his abdomen on the other hand, is a bit unsettling. I still had to go through with this, though. It's not like I could really back out now. I was already here, and I wanted some answers out of this guy, if he survived. If I saved him. I tried not to think about that. I then noticed that there was no pulse for my patient, or at least no machine to tell me so. "Hey Paul, how do we monitor this guy's pulse?" Paul looked to me. He had already put on a surgical mask and scrubs. "He messed with that too. Unfortunately, we'll have to take his pulse the old fashioned way." I sighed and put two fingers to our mystery patients neck. I stopped breathing when I couldn't find a pulse though. "Hey Paul, there's no pulse." "What?" He rushed over to the table and checked it himself. I called the nurses over for help. "We check it every three minutes," He continued. "Nurse! Get me the defibrillator! If we can't save him now, then he's already dead. Go wait outside. It's too cramped in here for you to help as well." With a nod I jogged out into the lounge, letting people past me to get into the room. "Hows it going?" Amy asked as I sat down next to her. We were both nervous. "I heard what's going on in there." She wrapped an arm around me. "Are you going to be okay?" "I hope so." I sighed. "Its just that I don't know anything about him." I Looked back into the room, where I could hear a defibrillator going off. "Do you think he's family?" Amy asked. "Could be." I said. "But I doubt it. I don't think I have a family." Amy looked around the room and whispered in my ear. "You have me…" She kissed me on my cheek and rested her head on my chest. And for the first time today, I relaxed a little bit. Tails POV: Well my hangover had finally subdued, but that was the least of my problems right now. It was too cold in my hangar for the Tornado to start, so I had to fly all the way to Station square. It seemed like hours before I had arrived at the hospital doors, Although it had probably taken a few minutes in reality. Running alongside Sonic all these years had made me just as fast as Sonic. Well, maybe just a bit slower. I don't want to take that title from him. Walking into the crisp air of the hospital, I found that it was warmer inside the building than out. At least there was one good thing to my day so far. Walking up to the receptionist, I asked: "Hey miss, do you know where the "railroad patient" is?" She sighed. "Great. Another young reporter looking for his big scoop. Listen kid, do you have any idea how many news stations have come to me asking for an interview with this chump? Get outta before I call security." There is two things you should know about me. One, don't mess with Miles "Tails" Prower, and two, I happen to be an excellent liar. "I happen to be his only son." I said through clenched teeth. "If you wont help me find my adopted father, then I will." With that I walked off, leaving the receptionist in fake guilt. You gotta love having an IQ of 300. "Hey kid." The receptionist said halfheartedly. I turned to look at her. She sighed again. "Room 294. 3rd floor." I nodded in appreciation and ran of to find my "dad" Amy's POV: Paul Obatine came into the waiting room me and Shadow were sitting in. "He has…passed." Paul hung his head low. I buried my head into Shadow's chest, but I couldn't even find comfort there. "We sent him to the morgue, but we don't know how fast his body will decompose, we want you to perform surgery immediately Shadow." Shadow looked shocked. Obatine continued. "We already removed the railroad slike from his abdomen, but having a better conception of the hedgehog anatomy, we all agreed to let you do an autopsy on the alien." I couldn't believe it. If Shadow had to go through with this, I would be there every step of the way. "What are we waiting for then? Let's go." I said as I stood up and walked off the the morgue. Shadow and Paul looked shocked. If the morgue was anything, it was creepy. Giant rectangle refrigerators made for freezing the dead. Yeeww. Shadow was going over CT scans with Paul's team of doctors. I glanced down at the poor body that had been breathing not ten minutes ago. His surgical tarp was still covering the torso of his body. I placed my hand on his chest and muttered a prayer for him. Right before he grabbed my wrist. His skin was as cold as any other one of the dead, but this one looked up at me. "please…" It whispered. He sounded as if he hardly had any air left in his lungs. "don't let them perform surgery. please…" With that he let go of my wrist and closed his eyes. I couldn't speak for a while. But I had a mission to do. I had to save this hedgehog's life. "Umm, Shadow? Can I talk to you for a minute please?" I lead him out of the room and into the hallway. "What's the matter, Amy?" Shadow questioned. "Your "patient" is ALIVE." I didn't really have to say anything more. Shadow walked into the room and requested that he work on the subject alone. It was lucky they had so much faith in him. "Okay they're all gone now, you can talk!" I spoke to my new friend. He took in the biggest gulp of air I have ever heard. It's a good thing the walls are mostly soundproof. "What is your name, friend?" Shadow asked the newly revived patient. "Eon…Eon" Eon took another gulp of air in. "The Lost." We sat in silence for awhile, letting Eon gather his bearings."So…Eon? Where did you come from?" Shadow sounded unsure of his question. "The ARK, of course." Eon responded. "Haven't you read…! All the files on me must have been deleted." Eon pried himself from his steel table/bed, and attempted to stand up. The result was failure. "Do you have…any…Emeralds with you?" I helped him up. "I think Shadow has one." I told him. "Shadow?" He tossed the green emerald he always carried to me. "Here." I put the Chaos Emerald in his hand. "Thanks. You should stand back now." Eon walked to the center of the room as it darkened and shook. Then it was over. Shadow took his gem back and asked, "What happened?" Eon looked at me and Shadow. I noticed that the whites of his eyes, or what was supposed to be the whites of his eyes…were black. In fact his eyes seemed to be inverted colorwise, like a negative filter in a camera. "I took in energy from the Chaos emerald to heal my body, and the eye thing will wear off in time." Eon said to me as he walked past me to the hallway. "G.U.N. agents should be here for me soon. I think they have been surveying the hospital. I'll see you two later, and thanks for the help Miss." Then he ran off. "Shadow…who was that?" I asked. His hand found mine. "I'm not sure, Amy." Shadow said to me. "But I think we'll see him again soon." We turned around and walked back to report to Paul. Eon's POV: Once I turned the corner, I bolted. Meeting my brother for the first time shocked me. I couldn't even flip…for a few seconds. Besides being able to heat up atoms, I can also control my own personal gravity. Pretty much, I can walk on ceilings and sleep on them too! Of course, I could just tell gravity to pull me that way, and I would fall down the hallway I was sprinting down. It's a bit hard to understand at first, but hopefully it makes sense. Since nobody was around when I walked out of what appeared to be the loading bay for the hospital, I planned my mission from there on out. Riley would meet up with me after I called him on my…phone… The doctors must have taken it away. And it had definitely been over three hours. I better keep a watch for him. If he thinks I'm hurt and he find those people with myb radio…they're as good as dead. Might as well look for him on the outskirts of town. Riley may be fast, but he's not that fast. Taking a stance, I jumped as the world tilted around me. The ground below me became steeper until I dropped towards the city before me. Shadow's POV: I couldn't believe it. He looked just like me. That can't be a coincidence. "Shadow?" Amy asked. I looked up to her. "Is there somthing wrong?" "No…I',m just a little shaken up about it, that's all." She gripped my hand and looked in my eyes. "I'm here for you Shadow." Amy gave me a hug. "We'll get through this together." I'm so lucky to have her. "Hey guys…!" Tails ran up to us. "Um…" "Tails it's not what you.." Amy started. "You're secret's safe with me." Tails answered. "Listen, have you two seen or heard of that alien thing on the news? I need to um...talk to it." Me and Amy exchanged glances. This was going to be more complicated than we thought. "We just saw him off a couple minutes ago." Amy sweatdropped. Tails was about to say something when we heard an explosion from the lobby. This was going to be a long day.
