-1987-
"Mommy? Where are we going?"
"I'll show you in a minute son, we are almost there."
Walking down the semi-busy streets, Mary had her hands wrapped around her son's eyes, blocking his vision.
"Ok...annnnd... ta-dah!" Mary uncovered her son's eyes, and the child squealed with delight.
"Freddy's Pizza! Awesome! Mom, you're the best!"
Smiling at her son, she looked at him for the last time, a single tear rolled down her face. She suddenly grabbed her son and hugged him close, knowing that she will have to lose him again.
"Ugh, Mom! Your embarrassing me!" the child whined, blushing.
She ceased her embrace and told the child, "I'm sorry, go on now, have fun on your birthday. I'll be there in a minute."
The child's smile returned, and he rushed inside to see his favorite animatronic characters. Mary stood there, smiled one last sad smile, before walking away from the building. "I'm so sorry my son," she whispered, "but I can't stay, knowing I will lose you again. I have to go."
Turning the corner into an alley, she walked along a little bit before vanishing into thin air.
-Present Day-
The brothers were back into their usual mode of travel, the Impala, speeding down the highway with a loud constant humming. The sun was high in the sky, and Castiel went back on his own personal agenda, leaving the brothers to themselves.
After a long moment of silence, Sam spoke up, "Do you think she did it?"
Dean responded by leaning over and switching the news station on to listen to the local news. "...and in other news, it has been 25 years since that fateful day that occurred in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. The assumed deaths of five children, as the bodies have never been found, was a shock to everyone. Our hearts still go out to those parents who lost a child that day..."
Sam nodded, his question being fully answered, then looked to Dean once more with a quizzical face. "So, who did encourage her to save her son? She said that someone was telling her to do it even though she already was going to. Like someone was leading her on."
Shrugging, Dean replied, "Ah who knows Sammy, to be honest I think she was blowing it out her ass. There is no reason God, if he suddenly came back to talk to her, would say to save a couple of brats just to screw with our timeline."
Sam paused, thinking of something to say to respond to that, before he queued back in to the news station. "...it was a tragic day for everyone involved. In related news, the building containing the old Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria will be torn down, and be replaced with a brand new haunted attraction. There are no more details at this time..."
Sam shut off the radio and leaned back into his seat, with Dean gripping the wheel tighter in his hands. Sam said, "Well, it looks like we're out of the frying pan and into the fire, again."
Dean replied, "And I'm making damn sure that this is the last time."
-The New Freddy's Haunted Attraction-
The halls were once again empty, the paint on the walls crumbling with age, revealing the ugly brown beneath. Multiple parts and pieces of animatronics were stashed in boxes, and placed in the various areas of the building. Everything was either dented, broken, or unusable, and was left lying in various areas of the building until they were found a proper place. But one thing was left intact, one that left the new owners of the building speechless with delight. They looked at the design of this single piece of hardware, and knew that this was going to be the main star of the attraction. But now it just laid there, continuing to gather dust, until something floated over to its side. A pale, white face with a permanent smile shown from the darkness.
"It seems I have yet again underestimated those Winchesters, they even took down a very powerful ally, albeit a less permanent one. Ah well, if you want something done right, get someone who knows what the hell they're doing! So come now, arise from your slumber. I gave those children the new life they deserved, it is time for you to wake up as well. It is time for your revenge!"
The building echoed the sound of the puppet's last word, and after a while it was once again silent. After a few moments in this silence, the animatronic lying on the floor shuddered and one bright green-yellow eye shown from its socket. In the small glow, the puppet's smile seemed to stretch wider.
"Now tell me who you are now." the puppet said.
Squealing and creaking, the animatronic shuddered one more time before whispering, "I...am...Springtrap."
