Chapter 7
"You have to rest." A women gently told the women sitting at the bedside of the little girl.
"Ai, please." a man pleaded.
She turned to him fury in her eyes and with a deathly whisper said
"Don't tell me what to do. You have no right."
The man's eyes lost all life and his stance deteriorated.
"Please, don't fight. He doesn't deserve it."
The women holding on to the little girl took his eyes of the man and widely looked at the other women.
"He doesn't deserve it. Who was it that made this happen? If only he had been there. If only he had stopped caring so much about his jobs and took better care of her, she wouldn't be lying here. She wouldn't." She whispered, sobbing over taking her.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen. You know I didn't." He said pleading.
"I know you didn't. But it happen and now what am I going to do without her. What am I supposed to do?" She looked at him pleading for something he couldn't give her. He knew that the harsh words she said wasn't what she was feeling, more than blaming him, she was blaming herself. He got to her and wrapped her into a comforting hug.
"I don't know, Ai. I don't know what we are going to do."
"I miss her. I miss her. I want her back. I want her back." She cried grasping his shirt tighter and tighter.
"She'll be ok. She's a fighter like you. She'll be ok." He said trying hard to believe it himself.
Their little girl had to be all right. They wouldn't be able to survive. He wouldn't be able to survive. He knew she didn't mean those words, but they were true. If he would've been there. If he stopped caring so much about his job, he could've prevented this.
