When Raven awoke in Robin's arms once again she was torn between feelings of bliss and heartbreak. Robin had told her that he loved her. It was the fifth time that the two of them had shared a night of passion, love, need, lust, and desire. They kept their affair a secret, something that only the two of them knew in the late hours of the night. While all of the other Titans dreamed- Cyborg of beautiful women surrounding his car, Beast Boy of dancing tofu and doughnuts, and finally Starfire dreamt of Robin. At the thought of Starfire's dream, Raven felt her heart clench. Here she was holding her leader's heart in her hands, unable to love him while the most beautiful fire haired girl who could give him her heart had not entered his mind.
Robin's grip around her tightened ever so slightly in his sleep. When he muttered those three words to her, Raven was shocked. She had felt the emotion all but seeping out of the Boy Wonder that night when they had switched from having sex to making love.
In her mind she could feel the emotion for love dance with joy while intelligence preformed what could only be described as a facepalm. Bravery was smiling and cheering Raven on while Shy Raven was still blushing over the act that she and Robin had preformed. Fear and her Inner Demon seemed to be having an intense conversation. You and I both know how this will end. Fear said simply.
He is a mere human. I will kill him. Inner Demon said.
He will die. You will kill him. Spare him. Intelligence said.
Don't let him in. Don't let him see. Fear also said.
She knew that her emotions were right. The prophecy would be filled in a little over a year. She would destroy the planet, kill the ones she loved and held the most dear to her. Her father would reign the earth. Robin deserved to spend his last days with someone who could love him. Someone that wasn't her. All of her friends deserved to be with and have the things that they loved, wanted, and needed most.
Raven felt tears slide down her face as she buried her face in Robin's pillow to hide her tears and muffle her sobs. Robin must have felt her body shaking because he awoke and asked still half asleep. "Raven?"
"It's okay. I'm okay. Go back to sleep." she said quickly before rolling back into his arms and pressing her lips to his in a chaste kiss. Robin smiled lightly into her kiss before pulling her down to him and allowing the passion to swarm through Raven's veins. Somewhere outside of the tower a boulder along the beach shattered. HIs arms encircled her body as he held her against him, a lifeline. She kissed him back, the passion that she hid and shoved away now being shared. He pulled away and stared at her. "Raven." he whispered and she knew that he had felt the passion that she had pent up.
"I love you." he said softly.
"I love you too." she managed to squeak out. Because it was true, she was in love with her leader.
That night they made love. They held each other, needed each other, completed each other. That night they were lovers. Raven had read in her books on mythology that the original man was born with four arms, four legs, and two heads. They were split apart and had to spend their days trying to find the other half. Many did not find their other half but that night Raven knew that she had.
She also knew that she had to make Robin forget that he had found his.
The next day she wandered about the tower- finding her friends and gently erasing any type of inkling that would cause them to believe that she and Robin had any type of romantic relationship:
First was Beast Boy. He proved to be simple. He was oblivious to most of the happenings around the tower. Even the conversation between her and him in regard to Robin she left. Overall the only thing that she had to erase was the once time that he had seen Robin yank Raven into his bedroom. And even that could have been left up to speculation. Beast Boy's memories of her relationship with Robin included that of best friends- the type who spent hours together speaking and exchanging stories, sometimes in Romanian. The type of friends who understood one another's interests and also happened to be the only one who managed to understand the other fully. She smiled slightly, glad that Beast Boy had such a fond idea of the two of them.
Cyborg was a bit more difficult. It was hard to hide things from him when he ran the entire tower. Not to mention the fact that he was indeed half machine. She had to be careful as she wound her way not only through his memory but through his hard drive, deleting the files from security cameras that showed Raven and Robin embracing one another or standing just a bit too close. Another that showed Robin exiting her bedroom at three in the morning. His mental memory showed an affection for both of them. The affection showed between an older brother and his two younger siblings, her and Robin.
Starfire proved to be the most difficult because it was hard for Raven to differentiate between what had actually happened and what Starfire imagined having happened. She had to wrack her own mind while attempting to erase Starfire's which proved to be much more exhausting than she thought necessary. The moments that Raven knew were real as well as the ones that were just too ridiculous for Starfire to have even thought of (one in which Raven and Robin were dressed only in whipped creme, chocolate sauce, and fruit and were sensually eating and licking one another until left in nothing) were erased. The ones that revealed Starfire's feelings of competition against Raven she also left, let Starfire fight for him.
The next night she called Robin to her bedroom and met him just outside the door. She didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around him and kiss him with as much love and passion as she could. He tensed when she entered his mind. She was shocked to find that she could not erase the memories from his mind. Instead she took them and created a block. Successfully locking them away into the confines of his mind. Only the strongest of mental jarrings would be able to unleash them. She pulled away and hugged him for a second longer. Robin released her slowly. She quickly shoved the feeling of sadness away and forced herself to keep a neutral expression. "Umm…thanks." she said.
"For what?" Robin asked obviously puzzled as to why he was standing outside of Raven's room and she was hugging him.
"Don't worry about it, Boy Blunder."
