Damon Salvatore was the eldest son of Giuseppe Salvatore and his second wife Lily, the second eldest of Giuseppe's children and the first in line to take over the family business when his father died. When Damon graduated college he got accepted into Harvard law school but instead of going he had to return home when his father got diagnosed with colon cancer and had to taking a break from working. Making Damon abandon his dream of becoming a lawyer and making him come home to work for his dad's business.

The business was as good as Damon's but Giuseppe believed in you had to work for what you get in life so Damon started from the bottom and had to work his way to the top and Damon worked damn hard. Every promotion he got he celebrated. Every praise from his superior he got made him smile. Damon never wanted anyone to think that he got where he was because of who his father was. Damon didn't have much good to say about his father but his dad did teach him and his brothers the value of a dollar.

Lily Salvatore was Damon and his brother Stefan's first love, she was their whole world before their parents divorce. Lily was the source of Damon's blue eyes and raven hair. Damon never knew the story of how his mother and father met, he didn't remember much about them being married but what he did remember the nasty divorce they went through when he was a teenager and Stefan was still an adolescent preteen.

After the divorce Lily never remarried, and Giuseppe was on his 3rd post lily marriage. After Lily there was Brenda , who was a real whore and Tracy who hated Giuseppe's children. Each marriage lasted less than a year with each wife taking with them a part of Stefan and Damon's inheritance with them. Now there was Brittany. The newest soon to be Mrs. Salvatore and the youngest.

Brittany was a 25 year old blonde bombshell, younger than Damon and a few months older than Stefan. Blue eyes, body of a goddess and every man's fantasy. She was also the reason for this get together at the Salvatore villa 2 hours away from the city.

Giuseppe cancer was now in remission and since he thought he cheated death he wanted to live life to the fullest. He met Brittany, a nurse at the hospital where he received his cancer treatments and 5 months later they were engaged.

"Hey, boys I'm glad you could make it."Giuseppe welcome his son's with a hug. Which was out of the ordinary because Giuseppe never showed his son's any kind of affection.

"Hello. father?" Damon questioned patting his father timidly on the back. Giuseppe chuckled, turning to his daughter in laws and embraced them.

"Elena you look as beautiful as ever," He complimented,"And Caroline, you're glowing." Both of the women smiled and thanked him." The group walked inside of the house to be greeted by the blonde future ex Mrs. Giuseppe Salvatore.

"Hello," She said with a smile that would light up the dark. "I'm Brittany. I've heard so much about y'all. Seppe won't stop talking about you."

"Seppe?" Damon and Stefan questioned.

"I'm glad y'all are here" She was like Caroline on steroids. Everything about Caroline was amplified in Brittany. If they had a competition of the most bubbly blonde, Brittany would win by a land slide.

Caroline, being the sweet girl she was introduced herself first. "I'm Caroline, Stefan's wife." Caroline held out her hand for her to shake but the other blonde attacked her with a hug and giggled.

"It's nice to meet you Caroline."

"I'm Stefan." She hugged Stefan next and he politely hugged her back.

"I'm Elena." Brittany hugged Elena, she politely hugged her back then the blonde hugged Damon.

"I'm Damon," He managed to choke out as she cut off his air supply.

When she finally let go of Damon she step back beside her fiance'. "I'm sorry I'm just so excited."

Giuseppe looked at his watch, "Well we're waiting on Zach, Sarah and one more guest to arrive before we get started." Giuseppe said

"Whose the other?" Damon asked.

"Your mother."

"MOM?"Damon and Stefan asked in unison. It was a shock because Lily and Giuseppe Salvatore did not get along. It wasn't hate but it was a strong mutual dislike.

"I'm here." a voice singed. Everyone turned around to see the second Ex Mrs Giuseppe Salvatore walking into the grand room of the mansion wearing designer sunglasses, pumps and a blood red dress that clung a little to tightly to her body but she managed to pull it off. "Don't I get a hug. I haven't seen my boys on almost 6 months." Lily said pushing the sunglasses to the top of her head. Damon hugged his mother first. "Do you know how to use a phone because I haven't spoken to you in almost six months.

"I'm sorry mom but things have been pretty hectic." Lily nodded and turned to face her youngest son.

"Don't just stand there, give me a hug." Stefan smiled and wrapped his arms around his mother. "I can't believe my baby is having a baby," she murmured. "I should kill you for making me a grandmother so young."

Lily turned to Caroline and hugged her next, moving her left hand down to Caroline's baby bump. "This is going to be one beautiful baby." Caroline smiled and place a hand on her bump next to Lily's. "Stefan was a beautiful baby, as was Damon. You're going to have a beautiful son."

"We don't know what we're having yet." Caroline said.

"It's a boy. Trust me." Caroline smiled accepting her mother in law prediction. It made her smile to think that her little baby might be a boy, one who looked just like his handsome father.

Lily turned around to hug her older son's whore, I mean wife. "Eleanor it's so nice to see you again, you look heavier than you did the last time I saw you, have you put on a few pounds."

"Elena," Damon coughed. Damon knew his mom knew Elena's name. His mother had the memory of an elephant so there was no way she could forget her name. His mother just hated Elena.

Elena pasted on a smile. "I'm fine Miss Lillian, how are you." Elena knew his mom hated being called by her full name.

Lily narrowed her eyes at the brunette."Terrific." Lily turned to face her ex husband and his fiance'. " Giuseppe you look well." she looked over at the blonde next to him. "And who is this bright ball of sunshine?"

"I'm Brittany," Brittany rushed over to Lily and hugged her as tightly as she hugged the other's, catching Lily off guard and making her almost fall in her heels.

"Nice to meet you too Brianna." uh oh.

"Brittany." The blonde corrected. "My name is Brittany."

"Isn't that what I said," Lily asked sweetly.

"No you said Brianna."

"I'm sorry honey. It's hard to keep up with names. Giuseppe changes women like he changes underwear."

"Lily," Giuseppe warned. "You'll have to excuse my ex wife sweetie, she's a little bitter."

Lily smiled at her Ex husband. "Where did you find this one from Giuseppe, the sandbox. She's younger than Damon.

"Have you introduced your son's to your new boy toy Lil, he still has milk around his mouth." Lily narrowed her eyes at him, making Giuseppe smirked in response.

"You're dating mom." Stefan asked. He was the mamas boy out of the two, the thought of his mom dating anyone made him a little disgruntle, like the little boy inside him hoping his parents would get back together.

"Your dad isn't the only one getting some."

"MOM!" Stefan and Damon yelled, They didn't want't to hear anything about their mom getting any.

Lily rolled her eyes. "Just because i'm your mom doesn't mean I don't have needs."

"Jesus Lily, No one wants to hear about that." Giuseppe said, disgusted. Lily never did have a filter. Once upon a time it was attractive but now it irritated the hell out of him.

"Just because you have a younger woman doesn't make you young. Unlike you Giuseppe I don't need any medicine to get aroused. It's like a waterfall between these legs darling. I'm always wet." Stefan and Damon's mouths gaped opened, shocked by their mother's words. Giuseppe was fuming, turning red as a ripe tomato. Brittany was scared that Giuseppe was going to pop. Elena was amused, laughing to herself and Caroline laughed out loud. She loved Lily and her non existent filter. Lily was her favorite in law. Everyone's eyes drifted to Caroline who doubled over from laughing.

Eventually Caroline settled, wiping the tears from laughing from her eyes and stood up straight. "I'm sorry. I just wasn't expecting that."

"Don't tell me the drama started without me." Zach, Damon and Stefan's older half brother from Giuseppe's first marriage, walked into the mansion with his 16 year old daughter Sarah trailing in close behind.

Zach would have been first to inherit their dad's company but when Zach got his girlfriend Gail pregnant at 16 and married her against Giuseppe's wishes Giuseppe disinherited him and made it so everything would past down to the next eldest, Damon.

"Zach." Giuseppe said cheerfully, going over to his eldest son a hug.

"Father," Zach asked. Giuseppe laughed and turned to his granddaughter.

"Sarah, come give your dear old grandfather a hug." Sarah walked over to her grandfather and wrapped his arm around him. Giuseppe might have not like the circumstances surrounding his granddaughters birth but if there was one person who had Giuseppe Salvatore wrapped around her finger was Sarah."How is my beautiful granddaughter."

"I'm fine Grandfather, but I broke my camera and dad," Sarah cut her eye to Zach. "Won't buy me a new one."

"Why not. This girl has a talent Zach, you should be supporting it and not trying to stifle it."

"Sarah has broken 2 cameras in the last year and a half. I am not spending almost two thousand dollars each time she breaks another camera."

"Don't worry about it. I'll buy you another."

"Thank you Gramps."

"Father..." Zach hated when his father tried to undermine him as a father. Sarah was his daughter and when he told her no he meant it.

"It's settled." Giuseppe interrupted." Now let me introduce you to my bride to be." Giuseppe gestured towards Brittany she went over and hug Zach like she did his siblings and then Sarah.

"Wow aren't you friendly" Sarah said. "She reminds me of you Aunt Caroline." Caroline rolled her eyes at the teen with a smile.

"Damon. Stefan. Elena. Caroline. Lily. How are all of you?" Zach asked.

"Caroline and I are fine, can't speak for the others though."

"I'm good." Elena said.

"Great." Lilly replied.

"Never better." Damon responded.

"That's good to hear."

"Now that all the awkward greetings are over," Sarah said "How about we get this thing started."

Seeing Brittany Keller and Giuseppe Salvatore together on the street would make most people think that she was a gold digging tramp and Giuseppe was going through some type of midlife crisis and anybody who would think that would be wrong. Brittany had her own money and didn't need to depend on anyone for anything. She wasn't with Giuseppe because of his money. She was with him because she loved him. Maybe he was old enough to be her grandfather but she didn't care. Age was nothing but a number and she wanted everyone to see that. That is why she made Giuseppe call all his family over to his home so they would know that she wasn't a gold digger. Lily included. Anyone who she deemed as important to him.

She had the whole day planned out . Everyone was to arrive at noon and then they would have a barbecue by the pool and over lunch they would get to know each other better. Then play games and other activities.

Giuseppe grilled burgers while everyone sat at the picnic table beside the pool.

"So how long have all of you been married." Brittany asked the married couples. She'd been trying to engage them in conversation all day but none seemed to want to share.

"Damon and I have been married for almost 6 years." Elena said.

"Stefan and I are going on 4 years."

"Gail and I have been married for 18 years, and by the way she's so sorry she couldn't make it. She is visiting her parents." The truth was Gail didn't really like Giuseppe. Ever since they got into an argument many years ago that started when Giuseppe accused Gail of trying to trap his son by getting pregnant and ended when Gail told him that he could rot in hell and didn't want anything to do with him or Zach since Giuseppe misleadingly made it seem like that it was Zach's thoughts and feelings.

Zach was no way around when this argument occurred but once he found out about it he told his father that he could go fuck himself and moved out, married Gail, had a beautiful daughter and never looked back.

"18 years is a long time."

"Yes. But It has been the best 18 years of my life." Zach smiled, how lucky was he to have the perfect little family.

"How old are you Sarah," Brittany asked the youngest Salvatore.

"I'll be 18 in two months."

"Wow, I remember when I was 18. You're going to love it. I promise."

"When was that, last month."Lily quipped.

Giuseppe threw her a look from the grille "Lily." He warned.,

Zach chuckled "You know out of all my dad's wives Lily you have to be my favorite.

"Zach," Giuseppe reprimanded.

"Thank you Zachary. I've always liked you too."

"How old are you Brittany." Caroline asked, taking a sip out of her glass of lemonade.

"25"

"So Brit Brat how did you and dear old pop meet." Damon asked. Brittany frowned at the nickname.

"It's Brittany and we literally just bumped into each other. I was on my way to my car after leaving the hospital and he was coming in when collided into each other, He picked up my keys and apologized. The next day I was there we almost bumped into each other again and he said us bumping into each other must be fate and I should give him my number, I did and two hours later he called."

"Mr. Salvatore has game." Caroline teased. "Way to go Giuseppe."

Giuseppe laughed, something his children rarely saw him do."Thanks Caroline."

"How did you and Elena meet?"

"We met at a gas station. I was putting gas in my car when I saw this beautiful brunette trying to figure out where the gas tank was. When I helped her figured it out, I asked her would she like to join me for dinner and she happily obliged and we've been together ever since."

"I love that story." Elena said, leaning over to kiss his cheek. Damon visibly tensed, which didn't go unnoticed by his mother.

"How did you and Stefan meet, Caroline?"

"Bonnie introduced us."

"Whose Bonnie?"

"She's Caroline's best friend." Stefan explained. "Damon's also."Stefan muttered low enough so only his wife and Damon whom he were sitting in between could here. Damon elbowed him in the side making him let out a low groan

"Anyways," Caroline continued. "One of Bonnie's and Stefan's mutual friend set them up on a blind date."

"I didn't know you and Bon Bon use to date." Damon looked to his younger brother pasting a fake smile on his face to hide his real emotions. Slightly angered at the fact that neither one of them felt the need to tell him.

"Me either." Elena said, feeling more bothered about it than she should have.

"We didn't. We went on a date. It was fun but we both agreed that we had nothing in common and would be nothing more than friends. That's when she told me about this beautiful woman sitting right next to me and the next weekend Caroline and I went on a date and I have never felt more lucky in my life to have met such an amazing woman."

"Aww, I love you too." Stefan hugged his wife to him and placed a kiss on top of her head. "How did you propose Giuseppe?" Caroline asked, turning her head to her left to see him flip a burger in the air and watch if fall unto the grille

"I took her out to dinner and had the waiter bring it out on some desert with the ring placed on top."

"Oh how original." Damon quipped.

"Shut up." Caroline said. "It's sweet." Damon rolled his eyes.

"Do you want to share how you proposed Damon?" Giuseppe asked.

Actually he preferred not too. When Damon proposed to Elena it was an in the moment type proposal. He wanted to marry her, he just hadn't planned on asking her the way he did. He wanted to go all out in style and class in only the way Damon Salvatore knew how.

"I'll pass."

"I'll tell." Elena said. She was going to tell them that he asked her to marry him while he was balls deep inside , in front of his parents."Damon proposed to me at the beach," Elena continued. " We went for a long walk and had a picnic while we watched the sun set. It was so romantic. He made these little finger sandwiches, the ones I loved so much. We laid down on the blanket listening to the waves crash and he started telling me that I was the best thing that ever happened to him, then hr got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I don't think I ever felt as loved as I did at that moment." Elena eyes watered thinking about the wonderful proposal she had once received, to bad it wasn't from her husband. She wiped away her tear, effectively ruining her make up, while Damon resisted the urge to clap from her stellar performance. A terrific little actress she was, Her emotions seemed genuine even though he knew they were fake, or so he thought.

"Wow Damon. I didn't know you were such the romantic." Caroline said, "Stefan and I went on vacation to Hawaii with my dad and his boyfriend. He actually asked me on the beach, like Damon did with you Elena, and he hired someone to sky write "Will You Marry Me Care." I guess he was to cheap to get my whole name written."

"You still said yes." Stefan teased.

"Yes, I did. It was the best decision I've ever made" Caroline pulled a chain with a ring attached to it out of her shirt and fingered the ring. "Most people wear a promise ring around their neck. I wear my engagement ring around my neck to remind me of how he made me feel. I don't think I'll ever regret saying yes." Caroline looked at her husband with newly formed tears in her eyes." I love you babe."

"I love you too." Stefan kissed his wife, pouring all the love he felt only when he was with her and she kissed back with an equal amount of love.

"Aww you guys are adorable. I hope Matt and I are like you when we get old." Sarah squealed interrupting the couple.

"We aren't old." Stefan quickly said.

"Who is Matt." Zach wanted to know.

"Who?" Sarah asked, feigning ignorance. "What is a Matt." She hadn't meant to mention that she had a boyfriend to her dad. Her mother knew about him but her dad was a lot more strict then her mom and told her she wasn't allowed to date until college.

"Is he cute." Caroline asked, giddy with excitement.

"Who is Matt and you better not lie to me Sarah Salvatore."

Sarah sighed. "He's a guy I know."

"How old is he? Where is he from? What school does he go to? Who are his parents? What's his social security number and his credit score?"

"Damn Zach give the girl a break she's almost 18." Damon spoke up.

Zach looked at his brother, "When you have a daughter then you tell me how to raise mine. Now how old is he?"

"He's only a few years older than I am."

"How old is a few?"

"3" She muttered.

"Whatever relationship you think you have going on with him end it."Zach demanded "You are a child and he is an adult"

"I'm almost 18." she screamed

"I don't care. What are you going to do when he knocks you up and leave you alone to raise a baby all by yourself "

"Come on Zachariah, she's older than you were when you knocked Gail up." Damon defended his niece.

"That's not the point I'm trying to make Damon. I don't want to see my daughter make the same mistake I did."

"You think I'm a mistake dad." Sarah asked, hurt by her fathers outburst.

"No that's not what I meant, you are the best thing to ever happened to me and your mother. I just don't want you to have to make the sacrifices your mother and I had to make."

"So now I'm a burden."

Zach sighed, his teenage daughter was going to drive him into an early grave. "You're putting words in my mouth."

"You know what dad forget it." Sarah got up from the table and walked inside the house.

"Are you going after her." Stefan asked.

"She's a teenager, one minute she's crying the next minute she's begging me for money and telling me how great a dad I am." The next sound they heard was the sound of a car engine, the screech of tires and the smell of burning rubber.

Sarah had been missing for almost 6 hours and it was getting dark. After calling the police and searching up and down the city for her, they still couldn't find her. Everyone returned to the mansion and waited just in case she showed up, they wanted to be there.

"How have you been Stefan." Elena asked Stefan. They were alone in the den while everyone else was spread out in different portions of the house. Damon was outside on the back yard deck with his mother while Giuseppe and Brittany were upstairs calling some people to help in the search for the missing teenager. Caroline went to make a phone call and Zach and his wife, who just arrived were outside in front of the mansion arguing.

"I'm fine. Now stop talking to me." Stefan snapped.

"Why so mean Stef," Elena took a step closer to her brother in law. "Are you still angry I dumped you for Damon."

"No and keep your voice down. Neither Caroline or Damon knows about us."

"It's not good to keep secrets."

"If you feel that way why haven't you told Damon about us."

"Why bring up the past."

"You didn't seem to feel that way when you told the story of how I asked you to marry me." Elena opened her mouth but quickly closed it. She was sure that she told the story of how Damon proposed to her. He didn't stop her while she told the story.

"No."

"Yes Elena you did. Remember we drove for hours and you feel asleep on the way to the beach." Now she remembered.

Elena met Stefan at a house party a friend of her's was having. They immediately hit it off and for almost a year they were inseparable. Stefan, at the time was the love of her life and she was his. They were both so invested in their relationship, they didn't want anything or anyone to ruin it. They held off on meeting each other's parents. They wanted the timing to be just right. When he proposed to her he planned out everything perfectly, taking some tips from his mother, who couldn't wait to meet the young woman who had her son so smitten.

He'd never been happier and she then the moment he asked her to be Mrs Stefan Salvatore. The next week they made plans for her to meet the other person in his life who meant the most to him, his brother Damon.

He made reservations at one of her favorite restaurants and waited for hours for her and his brother to show up but they never did. The next week she showed up at his place and gave him back his engagement ring, saying that she had met someone else. That was all the explanation she had given him before walking out of his life forever, or so he thought.

The next time he saw Elena Gilbert was months later when he got a call from his brother and told him that he'd just gotten married in Vegas and wanted Stefan to meet the new Mrs. Salvatore. Stefan who couldn't help but be happy for his older brother showed up to his brother's home with a bottle of expensive champagne, knocked on the door and smiled until his brother's new bride opened the door.

He didn't have time to say anything because his brother came to the door and gladly introduced his wife to his brother. Damon looked happier than he had ever seen him.

Damon once dated a girl named Katherine for 2 years. He was in love with her and probably would have married her if he didn't find out she slept with the whole football team and one or two of the cheerleaders. Something and Damon broke that day he split up with Katherine. Damon went into some kind of downward spiral after her. He slept around and began to drink heavily. If it wasn't for him almost getting kicked out of college, the women and the booze would have consumed him and probably would have killed him. He didn't seem to fully recover until he met Elena. That was the only reason that he didn't reveal his past with Elena. Elena did the same thing for his brother that she did for him. She made him happy and he would never take away something as important as someone's happiness. Especially his brothers.

She folded her arms and shook her head. "Well it doesn't matter. Like I said the past is the past."

"Exactly, so why bring it up."

"Well when I ended our relationship. I gave back or threw everything that pertained to our relationship."

"Your point." What did he ever see in her.

"I wonder how Caroline would feel if she knew that the little ring she wears around her neck once belonged too me."

Stefan probably knew Elena better than anyone. That meant he knew that she was all talk and no play. If on the off chance that she did open her mouth he didn't give two shits about what she did to him or her feelings anymore. "Probably the same you felt when you found out Damon was fucking another woman." Elena scowled at him. "Katerina, she's a real beauty." He prodded. "I'll never see why he chose to stay with you and not her."

"You...You knew about her." Elena asked, feeling the insecurity in her rise.

"Yes and she's gorgeous. Beautiful skin, exotic eyes, a body for days and an ass any woman would kill for. She's smart, talented. I can see why my brother is so in love with her."

"He doesn't love her." Elena practically growled.

Stefan nodded. "Yeah keep telling yourself that."

"I know he doesn't because he loves me."

"You're right about one thing. Damon loves you but that doesn't mean he doesn't love her either. Maybe he loves her more."

Lily Salvatore wasn't the type of mother who would win any award for being the best mother . She wasn't the type of mother to keep everything her children ever did in school. She wasn't the type of mother she aspired to be oh so many years ago. But Lily was a mother who loved her kids. She cared about their well being and tried to be involved in every aspect of their lives

"So Damon how are things going between you and Elena." Lily asked her son once they were alone outside on the backyard deck, overlooking the beautiful backyard garden that Lily planted while she was married to Giuseppe.

Damon chuckled."You got her name right?"

"Of course I know Eileen's name. Now tell me what's going on in your life. We haven't talked in forever."

"Everything's fine."

"Tell that lie to someone who isn't your mother. I can tell when something is wrong ."

"How are you so sure," Damon asked.

"Because I'm your mother. I noticed things."

"Like what?"

"For one,"Lily put up her index finger. "You two don't show any kinds of public displays of affection, Stefan and Caroline are always holding hands or kissing."

"Maybe we don't like PDA and Stefan and Caroline are Stefan and Caroline."

'Two, whenever she touches you, you tense up."

"I like my personal space."

"Three, you never tell her you love her."

"How often are you around mom to know anything about me and my wife's relationship." Damon bit.

Lily sighed. Although she liked to pretend that she had a great relationship with both of her children, she knew that Damon resented her for leaving them."I know that you're still angry but you have to understand that I left because I wasn't happy."

Damon opened his mouth to respond but stopped when he saw Caroline came out on the deck to make a phone call. Today was her best friend's birthday and with all the chaos of being with the Salvatore family all day made her almost forget to call her and wish her a happy birthday.

"Happy Birthday Bon," Caroline said into the phone.

"Thanks, how is casa de Salvatore."

Caroline laughed, getting ready to gossip until she looked up and saw her mother and brother in law, "It's great."

"Is he there," Bonnie asked. She hadn't seen or heard from him in a month but that was her fault because she didn't answer his calls, afraid they'd fall back into the same old habit she was struggling to kick.

"Yeah"

"I'm going back inside to see if they found out anything." Lily whispered. Damon nodded and watched his mom open the sliding glass door and walked into the house.

"So what did you get," Caroline asked. Before Bonnie could answer Damon snatched Caroline's phone out of her hand. "Hey," Caroline pouted. "Give it back."

"Beat it Blondie,"Damon put the phone up to his ear and watched Caroline huff and go back into the mansion, probably to tell Stefan . "Happy Birthday, beautiful."

"Thanks" She didn't have to ask who is was, as if she didn't know that voice. "What happened to Caroline."

"Bathroom break." He lied, "Why haven't you been answering my calls?"

"You know why."

"That doesn't mean you can't answer my calls. We are friends. Friend's talk."

"You think having sex make's us friends."

"You don't have to pretend Bon, I'm like a fever you can't shake."

"Yeah a disease"

There was a comfortable silence. Just the two of them listening to each other breathe, It was a comforting feeling to listen to the sound of the person you love inhaling and exhaling on the other end but also a saddening feeling to know that you won't be able to see then whenever you want.

It was the first time he spoke to her since they officially went on this little"Break" of theirs. Bonnie completely stop returning his calls or responding to his text.

He knew it was going to be a hard task to stay away from her because of their previous attempts to stay away from each other. The longest they actually managed to stay away from each other before this time was 2 weeks but this was a whole month. 4 weeks. 30 days and he wanted her. He had only seen her once in that month and she was with her husband and he was with Elena.

Some days he was tempted to drive to her house and fuck her right in front of her husband but that was against the rules. God how he hated her rules.

He missed her, he missed every thing about her, her smell, her taste, her laugh, the way she pursed her lips together when she was thinking and that look she gave him whenever he did something she didn't approve of.

He tried to get her to respond to his text by sending her nude pictures. He even sent her a video of him touching him self until he came for her birthday, with a caption reading "Happy Birthday, We Miss You."

"Did you get my text," he asked breaking the silence.

"Yes," She giggled. "I did and deleted it."

"Boo, you're no fun."

"No. You are just very disgusting." He chuckled.

Did you enjoy your birthday so far?"

"I haven't really done anything but sleep and watch movies."

"I'll take you out when this break is over." Bonnie didn't respond. "Did you get anything?"

"Someone left a dozen red roses and a jewelry box with a tennis bracelet inside on my door step"

"Whose it from?" Damon asked feigning ignorance.

"It doesn't have a name on it but I think they're from Jeremy."

Damon frowned at the mention of his name. "You think Jerome has that good of taste," Damon asked, taking a page out of his mother's book.

"You've seen my wedding ring, you know he has good taste." Bonnie's ring was a huge diamond that Jeremy picked out all by himself.

"The same bracelet you mentioned to me you wanted, Jeremiah got you?"

"First. You know his name is Jeremy so why are you calling him Jerome and Jeremiah." Damon just laughed. "And second, I knew they were from you. Thank you for the flowers and the bracelet it's beautiful." He could the smile in her voice.

"So you knew they were from me this whole time huh."

"Duh. Don't forget, I know you Damon Salvatore."

"And I know you Bonnie Bennett."

Lily watched her son smile and laugh with whomever he was on the phone with through the glass door. "Who is Damon on your phone with," She asked Caroline who was angry at Damon because he interrupted her phone conversation.

"Bonnie." Caroline answered.

"Bonnie?, I wasn't aware they were friends. The last time I saw her she told him she hoped he choked on a cock and died because Damon called her a judgmental little bitch." Lily laughed. " A little spitfire."

Caroline nodded. "Yeah that's the one." Caroline sighed. "A lot has changed since then."

"I wonder what they're talking about. I haven't seen him smile like that since he was a child."

"That smile is nothing. You should see the way he looks at her and the way she looks at him." Caroline said without thinking. "I'm not Damon biggest fan but I think he'd be better for her and she'd be better for him. They don't realize it but they totally in love..." Caroline trailed off suddenly remembering where she was and whom she was seeking to. "Um...I...um. Shit" Stefan was right, Caroline couldn't hold water if she had it in a bucket. "I have to go." Caroline rushed out of the room and back into the room to where her husband was.

"So how is your family." Bonnie asked.

"My dad's engaged again, my mom's here and my niece is missing. "

"Sarah?"

"She's my only niece unless Stefan and Barbie have a girl. "

"What happened?"

"She stole Zach's car keys and left because they got into an argument. Zach was about to have an aneurysm when he found out Sarah was dating."

"How old is she now?"

"17"

"Maybe your brother is overreacting.I had my first boyfriend when I was 13. We dated until I left for school."

"13? isn't that a little young Bon."

"We've known each other all our lives. We were best friends and started dating while we were in eight grade.

"Did you love him?"

"Yeah." He shouldn't be bothered by the answer. That relationship ended a long time ago and more than likely never had a chance of rekindling. Yet he couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy that he had the one thing Damon wanted more than anything, The love of Bonnie Bennett. "Kol was my first everything." So that was the luck SOB's name. "He was my first kiss, my first dance, we took each other's virginity."Bonnie giggled. "We even use to take baths together when we were toddlers. Our mother's were best friends."

He didn't even know the guy and hated him. "You and I can take a bath together. I can't promise It'll be as innocent but It'll be fun." She could hear the suggestiveness in his voice and couldn't help but laugh.

"You are incorrigible." Her musical giggles filled his ears but were halted suddenly. "Um...I have to go, Jeremy's here."

He didn't want her to hang up. "I'll talk to you later?" He asked although it sounded more like a statement but she knew it wasn't.

"Maybe." She answered softly.

He smiled. "Goodnight beautiful."

"Night Damon."

Giuseppe had his people out looking for Sarah and made everyone leave by promising to call when he got information on her where about's. Damon and Elena rode in silence as they often did, sometimes enjoying the music or the silence that surrounded them, The silence gave them time to think about there lives. Elena about the drama in her life or the people surrounding her. Damon about his job, his wife, his family and of course the woman who had a strong grip on his heart.

Damon quickly glanced over to the passenger side at his wife before turning his attention back to the long empty road ahead of them. He thought back to earlier when Brittany asked him about when he first met his wife. He remembered thinking that she was beautiful. He remembered she was wearing a short blue dress and was absolutely stunning. Him being the type of guy that he was approached her with all the confidence in the world. They immediately hit it off. He was enamored by her beauty and brains and fell hard for her. There was no doubt in his mind about wanting her to be his wife when he asked her to marry him.

After they got married he was shown glimpses of how spoiled she really was. For a while he didn't mind spoiling her because a man is suppose to spoil the woman he loves. He spoiled her until he realized his credit card bills were through the roof. Every marriage has their issues and financial issues weren't the only ones. Elena had trust issues and before he started sleeping with Bonnie she had accused him numerous times of cheating. Him and Elena sometimes argued over some of the dumbest stuff. He was unhappy in his marriage for a while before he and Bonnie started having sex. Maybe he should have divorced her a long time ago but he couldn't because back then, despite of his unhappiness he loved her with his heart and soul. He couldn't imagine his life without her in it

Damon turned on the street his house was located on and spotted a car that looked an awful lot like his brother's Zach's.

"Hey where are you going." Elena asked watching him exit the car. He ignored her, walking over to the drivers side of the Lexus and looked inside. He saw his niece,Sarah, asleep with her head lying against the drivers side window. He tapped the window, scaring the teen out of her sleep.

"Uncle Damon. You scared me." She said, rolling down the window.

Damon folded his arms. Sarah might not have been his daughter but she was his niece, Family was important to him. "What are you doing here?"

"I had no where to go." She yawned.

"Do you know how worried your parents's are now. Your mom came over to the mansion and all but set the place on fire."

Sarah sighed. "That much huh?"

Damon opened the door. "Come on inside kiddo, it's getting cold." Sarah nodded and followed her uncle inside where Elena was now waiting.

"Sarah are you okay?" Elena asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine aunt Elena."

"Good. You're shivering. I'm going to make you some hot chocolate."

"Thanks." Damon pulled out his cell phone as soon as Elena disappeared into the kitchen. " You're going to call my dad aren't you?"

"Yep."

"Please don't." She pleaded

"I have to let everyone know you're okay."

"He's going to make me come home." She wined, pouting.

"You should have thought about that earlier." Damon clicked Zach's name on his phone's contact list and listened to the phone ring.

"Damon I have to keep this line clear in case there's any information on Sarah."

"We let me grant you some relief big brother. I found your daughter."

"Where? Is she okay? I'm coming to get her right now."

"She was parked in front of my house. Yes she's fine and don't worry about coming to get her."

"Damon..."

"It's late and she'll be fine. Elena will set up a room for her and you can come get her in the morning."

"Are you sure."

"It's no problem at all." Damon hung up the phone and looked at his niece. "No need to thank me. I'll go find you something of your aunt Elena's to put on."

"Hey. What are you doing up."Damon asked. Damon walked down stairs to get him a glass of water when he saw his niece sitting on the couch with her phone light glaring in her face. They went to bed 3 hours ago.

"I couldn't sleep so I called Matt."

"Did he help any." Damon took a seat on the couch beside her.

"No."

"Count Sheep. It always work for me."She giggled as Damon moved to stand back up.

"Uncle Damon, how do you know when you're in love." Damon plopped back down on the couch with a sigh.

"Uh oh. Are you in love with this guy."

She smiled, taking her bottom lip in between her teeth."Yeah,"She nodded. "I think so but I don't know if Its really love or just infatuation. I always imagine being in love with another person is the need to be around the person when you aren't, they are the first you think of when you wake up in the morning and the last person you think about before you go to sleep at night. You feel your best when you are with them and contempt with the world. You would do anything for that person without questioning logic because you love them with your whole being. You know what I mean?"

"Yeah." Damon answered, thinking about the woman who was probably home asleep with her husband, a few streets over. "Do you feel that way about Matt." he asked.

"Yeah I do."

"Well I think you just answered your own question."

"Thank you Uncle D,"

He smiled. "You're welcome niece S." She giggled.

"I bet that is how you feel about aunt Elena huh."

"I did."

Caroline brushed her golden hair for what seemed liked the hundredth time. While Stefan was sitting up and bed reading a book. This was their night time routine. After they had done what ever they needed to do during the day and ate dinner at night together they would retire to their room. Stefan would take his shower first and then Caroline since she took the longest. Some days they showered together. After they showered Stefan would take one of his favorite books off the shelf and read a chapter or two while Caroline brushed her hair.

After Caroline would finish her hair she would climb into bed and they would cuddle, among other things, or just talk. Communication is the key to a great relationship and Caroline and Stefan had a great relationship for the most part. They talked about everything. Their thoughts and feelings. They both came from a family of divorce and never wanted to go through that for themselves. Of course all married couples have problems and they usually solved theirs unless one of them was keeping something from one and the other found out about it.

Caroline climbed into the bed and settled herself under the covers while Stefan placed his bookmark in his book and sat it on the night stand then wrapped his arms around his wife and pulled her into her chest. That was how they slept every night. If they weren't touching it would be a restless nigh for both of them.

"Do you think Sarah's okay?" Caroline asked, drawing invisible pictures on her husband's abdomen.

"I forgot to tell you. She was at Damon's. He called while you were in the shower."

"Well I guess I can rest easy knowing that she's safe."

"Me too. I can't imagine what Zach was feeling."

"Me either. I don't know what I'll do if our daughter disappeared."

"We'll never have to worry about that because we'll be awesome parents to our son."

Caroline giggled, remembering what Lily said earlier about her baby being a boy. "We'll be awesome parents to both our son and daughter."

"Are you trying to tell me something? Is their going to be more than one baby?"

"No," She exclaimed. "God no. Just one this time. But I do want at least one more child after this one gets a little bit older."

Stefan laughed. "Okay, that I can deal with."

Caroline continued to draw circles thinking about the day's event. "Stef." She slowly sat up and looked at her husband with puppy dog eyes. She knew he was going to be mad once he found out what she let slipped earlier.

"What?" He asked slowly, sitting up along side her, with a concerned look on his face.

"Today is Bonnie's birthday so I went outside on the deck to call her and your mom and Damon were out there talking." Caroline explained without taking a breath. "Your mom went inside and while I was talking to Bonnie, Damon snatched my phone and told me to beat it so I walked inside to find you when your mother asked me who Damon was talking to," Breathe. "I told her Bonnie and she made a comment on how Damon and Bonnie use to argue and I may or may not have let it slip that Damon is completely and hopelessly in love with Bonnie." Caroline held her breath, waiting for her husband to respond.

"You did what?" He asked slowly.

"I told your mom that Bonnie and Damon are in love."

Stefan sighed instead of getting upset like Caroline thought he would. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing that his mother knew. Maybe then she would talk some sense into Damon. "What did she say?"

Caroline shrugged. "I walked off before she could say anything and found you in the den with Elena. Speaking of," Caroline folded her arms. "Why were you talking to Elena alone and why did she look like she want to break your neck?" Caroline trusted her husband but Elena, she didn't trust.

"We were talking about Sarah and as for that look, Elena always looks bitchy."

"You're lying Stefan."

"I'm not."

"Yes you are and If you lie to me again you will be sleeping on the couch." Stefan moved his hand to the his wife's face and caressed it, pulling her in for a kiss in an attempt to distract her. Caroline wasn't stupid she knew exactly what he was doing but decided to play along.

He broke the kiss and rested his forehead against hers. "I love you and I want you to know that I wouldn't lie to you about that."

"I love you too." Caroline sat up straight and grabbed a bunch of pillows. "But until you tell me the truth, you my love are sleeping on the couch." She roughly shoved the pillows into his abdomen. Stefan sighed and moved off of the bed. "Sweet dreams hubby."
