Daniel looked at Ace, hoping he was sending some kind of signal to join him. He didn't know how the fearless leader would feel about sitting in the "bitch seat" as he likes to call it. Personally, he wouldn't ride it unless necessary, but he would for Ace in a heart beat.
Ace looked back and forth between the helmet and the bike. After a moment, he gave a mischievous look at him as he put the helmet on.
"Scared? Ha! I ain't scared of nothing!" said the hare as he strapped his helmet in and turned on the walkie talkie that was in the helmet. Happy but fearful, the mallard put the helmet on and turned his own walkie on.
"Can you hear me?" he asked as he climbed on his motorcycle.
"Loud and clear," Ace answered as he jumped on the back. Daniel was happy that Ace had his arms on his shoulders, but wished that they would be around his waist. Oh well, he thought as he started the motorcycle. He will soon enough. And with that after thought, he took off faster than his partner would have liked.
….
Marci was ecstatic to say the least. Not only will she be able to see her brother and stay with him for a while (hey, show productions take forever), but she gets to meet the Loonatics. She has been dreaming about this day since she got the call from her brother. However, between her school work and his "saving the day" schedule, they haven't really seen each other in over a year besides Facetime and talks on the phone.
More than anything, she really wants to meet Lexi. She has had a crush on her since the first time she saw the pink hare on the news. Her room is littered with Lexi products and posters. She loved the way that she looked and talked, not to mention that she can kick butt!
But Marci couldn't go with Daniel on this. At the time that the two of them were offered the chance to join the team, Marci knew that she wasn't strong enough with her powers. Having the powers over earth and air would have made her a valuable asset to the team. However, her brother and Zedavia told her that it was a choice that she alone would have to make. She figured that finishing school first was a priority to her and her family. It was a selfish choice on her part, but she knew that the world would be fine without her.
Speaking of powers, she thought to herself, she gathered her mental strength to allow the plants that invade her small apartment to grab her clothes from her closet as she got air to open her suit cases for the clothes to go into.
I can come back after a while and grab more of what I need if I need to. I do have Daniel after all, she thought as she closed her suitcases and with one last look in the mirror to make sure she looked decent, with her lowcut shirt and jeans with nude heels, ran for the door. She had a plane to catch after all.
Using air, she hoisted her five suitcases filled with clothes, make up, shoes, and anything she might need before Daniel can bring her back. Definitely going to have to talk to the land lord about cutting my lease. Hope brother doesn't mind paying for the fees.
She considered herself lucky to have a big brother that has always taken care of her, even when they were in the orphanage. The only friend that they had besides themselves was Pinkster. Only later did she learn that he was a traitor to her and her brother. She couldn't forgive herself for not realizing this sooner and causing the hurt that her brother felt on that day. She always tried to protect him emotionally, since he is a fueled power house always waiting to explode.
Down the hallway and out the door of her apartment, she still had her bags levitated. She always gets strange looks from people when she uses her powers in public. Not that she minds though. She was used to it. She had 5 piercings on one ear and six on the other, not to mention her nose, septum, medusa and lip. She always had wild hair color or cut to go with so to her being gawked at was nothing new. She even had people yell obscene things at her. But those people she never minded.
Going down the stairs, she saw a taxi waiting on the street. She walked over to the taxi just as the man got out of the door.
"Ms. Marceline, I presume," the bald-headed gentleman in a uniform asked as he gave a short bow to her.
"Yes," she answered, taken aback about how he knew her name. But before she could ask, the man started to take the luggage out of the air and put them into the trunk.
"Your dear brother called for me and asked that I get you to the airport as quickly as I could. Don't worry miss. You are in safe hands. Call me Mike," the man said as he took out his hand to shake hers.
"If you need anything at all before we get there, please don't hesitate to ask," he stated as he shut the door to the trunk and opened the door for the feline.
"Thank you very much!"
The ride there was quick as she didn't need anything to eat and knew that there would be something on the plane for her to sip on as she listened to the script that she was to memorize in one month. Luckily she remembered her music player and headphones in her carry-on bag as well as her laptop in case she was to get an important email about the dates and schedules of rehearsal.
After arriving, she tipped the driver and he bowed in appreciation. But before she could get her bags, the man turned in his seat.
"Listen, I don't do this very often but may I please get an autograph? My daughter, you see, is a big fan of your work and plans on buying tickets to the show that will be in Acmetropolis. It would mean the world to her."
She thought about how the man has treated her with nothing but respect and went out of his way to make sure her 30 minute drive was comfortable.
I'll do you one better. Give me your email address and I will send her and one other person front row seats and back stage passes to see one of the shows. She can bring whatever she wants for the autographs. I will sign them all."
The man had tears in his eyes as he wrote down his email address and promised to look for it everyday. What a great father this man is, she thought as he opened the trunk and got her bags out for her.
Before going to get her a trolley for her bags, she levitated them once more. "No need for one. But I appreciate the gesture. Have a nice day and be sure to look for the emails."
With a wave goodbye, she headed off to the airport, ready for her next chapter in life.
Not much I know. But I am having a bit of a block right now. I know how I want the story to flow but getting there is a bit rough. Usually music helps. Keep a look out for the next chapter.
