AN: I am so sorry that I have left this up until now, I've been very busy lately but I guess there are no excuses really. Thank you for taking the time too read my story and I'm glad at least some people like it. A while back, a writing schedule was brought to my attention. It seems I don't have one. I just write whenever I can and post whenever I can. So maybe one chapter every two weeks? I don't know. I'll try but no promises.

You're A Psychic, Noll
Chapter seven
"When you get inside the hall, you will be placed into one of four houses; red, yellow, green and blue." The red head, identified as Professor Matsuzaki, said. "There will be a set of rules to follow. One: be respectful. No house is better than the other even if we have our most preferred one or favourites. You will not be disrespectful to someone if they are put in a different house to you. Two: follow a good example. You will be watched by all the other years and by our most loveable teachers and headmaster. You will not gawk, you will not goof, you will be on your best behaviour."
"Question," A black haired boy with glasses raised his hand.
Professor Matsuzaki quirked a brow and bit her lip to stop a smile. "Yes… child?"
"I heard there's going to be an absolute grand feast after we've been sorted into our houses," the boy pushed his glasses to the top of his nose. "Will there be cake?"
"Yes there will be cake! So anyway, three…" And so the rules went on and Noll began to get a bit board.
His eyes scanned the crowd, looking for someone he might know. He spotted and flash of blond hair and his immediately saw John. He walked over and then he noticed some unwanted company.
"I'm going to get into green house, I'm telling you now. All the powerful psychics and wizards have all come from green house and most of them worked along side You Know Who." Masako Hara blabbed on, a sleeve in front of her face. "Where do you think you're going to be John?"
"Well, I was hoping for red house, me." He smiled sheepishly. "But any house will do as long as I make good friends there… like Oliver Davis."
John waved at him and then Masako spun on her heel. "Why, isn't it The Oliver Davis I have in my presence? So, Oliver, where do you want to be? Green is the best, for your information. If you didn't hear what I said earlier, then the most powerful wizards and psychics were there."
"But aren't people from green house… evil?" John asked, returning his gaze to the floor.
"If you call power evil, then yes John, yes they are evil." Masako said.
"I-If you say so," John stuttered.
The three of them grew silent as Professor Matsuzaki pushed open the door and the herd of new students began to wander through it, their eyes wide with awe. It seemed that the professor had finished her speech about introductions and whatnot. The three of them hadn't really been paying attention.
Noll tore his eyes away from the building's structure to who was leading them inside. And to his surprise, it was the boy from earlier with the black hair and glasses who had asked about cake. Noll raised a brow. What even? The boy grew gradually taller and then, all of a sudden, his hair had grey streaks and his glasses were like half moons.
Were his eyes playing tricks?
The group of students stopped and were organised into straight lines by Matsuzaki as she began telling them what was going to happen next. But the boy… man…old man with glasses who, it seemed, was very fond of cake continued to walk up to a long table just in front of them.
He settled in a seat right in between Professor Takigawa and a stern faced man whom Noll had never met before. The man scared him just a little. What was with that pointed stare?
"Attention!" The old man with glasses tapped a spoon against a glass and then popped a lemon sweet into his mouth. "Thank you for joining us for yet another year at my school."
There was applause and some whistling buzzing round the room.
"I have some things that must be brought to your attention before we welcome the first years into their houses." More applause. "Firstly, stay away from the upper floors of the castle and mind the lifts. They have a nasty habit of directing you to the wrong floor. No one is to use them until they are fixed. Secondly, we have a few new teachers with us this year. Let us welcome back Professor Matsuyama who had recently been dismissed."
Applause.
"Oh, and another thing." He said. "Let's make this year the best year yet!"
More applause… gee! What was up with all the clapping!?
Matsuzaki stepped forward, "When I read your name out, come and sit on the stool and hold onto the sorting mirror. It will tell you what house you are best suited for. Right, Hara Masako."
"Ooh, that's me." Masako barged forward, a sleeve covering her mouth.
She sat elegantly on the stool and held her hand out for the mirror. There was nothing special about the mirror. It looked like an everyday mirror that a lady might use when she is out and about. It had a wooden back to it and sharp edges.
Masako stared into, expecting something to happen. She tapped it. Still nothing. She shook it. Nothing. The longer she stared the more nothing seemed to happen. And then the mirror was grabbed out of her hands.
"Damn it Sorting Mirror, wake up already!" Matsuzaki huffed. "It's time for you to work your magic."
The mirror, almost reluctantly, was placed back into Masako's hands. She could feel the magic pulsating through the mirror and then she knew that it was going to work this time.
She stared.
She stared back.
And then what she saw wasn't her reflection, but an image of a man. An old wrinkly man. Her hand reached up to her face, just like the old man's, and she began to panic. The wrinkles seemed to go baggier and her… his face seemed to grow older. And then the man started laughing and so did the rest of the students in the hall. Appalled, Masako shot her head up. Just what exactly was happening!?
And then a male's voice echoed in her mind and out of her mouth. "Green house!"
She was shooed away to the table closest to her left. There was more applause.
And then as more people were called up, Noll and John were the last of about five people. And then Noll saw a brunette walk up to the stool and sit down. It was Mai.
Her sleeves looked all soggy and bitten and she even had one sleeve in her mouth at this very minute. Noll was guessing this was nervous for her. Or she was a nervous person in general. He couldn't decide between the two.
The wooden mirror was placed gently in Mai's hands and she looked into it, her eyes almost sparkling. From where he was stood, Noll had a very good view of her. She had short brown hair, fair skin and warm brown eyes, she was rather petite too. Maybe she would grow a bit more when she's older.
"Red house!" The mirror yelled, startling him out of his thoughts.
The long table on his farthest erupted with laughter and cries of joy, this must be the red house. Noll found himself wanting to be there himself.
"John Brown," called Matsuzaki.
John sat on the stool, the mirror was thrust in his hands and then after a short pause, it was taken away and he was whisked off to red house. Now Noll found himself really wanting to be there. As long as he wasn't in green house.
"Oliver Davis." His name brought silence to even the teachers at the high table.
He gulped and walked forward, every pair of eyes were on him. He looked over to the green table and saw that snooty Masako smirking at him. He suppressed a grimace. And then he looked over at the still faces of the red table. He saw John nod at him, trying to cheer him up a little he supposed. And then Mai peering at him curiously and then looking elsewhere when they made eye contact.
And then he made it to the stool and sat down almost leisurely. He took the little mirror and looked into really hard, searching for anything. He was frowning as all he saw was himself… and then his reflection smiled at him. Just for a second, it smiled. And then it glared.
Noll finally took notice of the reflection's eye colour. Violet. His eyes weren't violet. They were blue. He narrowed his eyes and peered closer. They were blue this time. Just blue, not trace of violet whatsoever.
The picture changed yet again, and Noll saw an image of an old man with baggy skin and a lot of wrinkles. Was this green house? Was this what Masako had seen? No. He didn't want to be in that house.
"Well okay then," the man said as he turned into another person. "Red house!"
Noll walked over to the red table and sat opposite to John's older brothers. They were talking animatedly with another first year. He managed to catch some of their conversation.
"So I have to avoid the head of green house?" The first year said. "You tell it like he's a monster."
"I wouldn't be surprised if he was," commented the twin to the right.
"Yeah," hummed the twin to the left. "He's a real monster he is. Once gave me a clout because I asked him why he was always taking time off."
"Some say," whispered the twin to the right. "That he likes too take time off to spend it with You Know Who."
"He likes to spend time with You Know Who!?" The first year exclaimed.
The twins nodded, "Don't say anything to him though. Or any of the teachers. Yasu especially. The two of them have a level of trust but everyone knows that they don't get along all too well."
"Whoa." The three of them looked over to the long table where the teachers were, and couldn't help but notice that one of them was looking in their direction.
"Are you talking about Matsuyama by any chance?" Noll finally asked.
Three pairs of eyes immediately looked at him, he was beginning to get uncomfortable. He raised an eyebrow at them. But they weren't the ones who answered.
"Yeah, that damned man!" A voice from next to him muttered angrily. "He treats everyone horribly and gives them no respect!"
Noll looked to his right and noticed that there was a very pale boy sat beside him wearing only a white shirt and black pants. When did he get there?
"I hate him! I hope he chokes on some poison!"
Noll's eyes widened. Who could hate a person so much that they would wish death upon them? "Why?"
"Have you seen what he has done to me!?" The pale boy gestured to himself but Noll couldn't see anything wrong.
"Um… Oliver Davis, Sir, I don't think you realise…" The other first year began uneasily but then he stopped when he realised that the pale boy was gone. "Where…?"
"Who was that?" Noll asked instead.
"Sakauchi."
