Happy New Years Everyone, I would have posted this yesterday but Fanfiction was being a douche-bag on me. Anyways, I'm dedicating this gaaraxnaru for pushing me to write this and post it by the end of the year. So, I got your hint. Hope you enjoy guys. Sorry if it's a bit short. Having to edit this on Word so sorry if it's not perfect! Going to go back and edit it better once Fanfiction stops being stupid.

It was Saturday, which meant no school for the young duelists. It was a great time to study for finals, but Jaden had another idea in mind then studying. Well he usually always does, but this one is more important than his usual slacking. He was trying his hardest to come up with a good idea for a date. This was his and Jesse's first real date. He wanted it to be special. But he still felt bad. He felt like he was taking this date more seriously than he ever had with Syrus.
He still cared about Syrus. He really did. Just, not as much as he cared about Jesse. In that way! He still wants to be friends with Syrus. He knows that he was Syrus' first friend. He hasn't seen the guy in a few days. He was worried about Syrus. He was scared he was going to take it too hard. That he would take it harder than he even imagined.
Jaden sat back in his desk chair. He felt a headache beginning to form. He rubbed his temples. This was all so stressful. Dating is not supposed to be so hard .Maybe he was just over thinking it. Jesse was not one for over-extravagance. He likes to keep things simple, but not too simple that it becomes predictable.
Jaden let out a groan and placed his hands on his head. "I need some advice."
He heard a knock at the door. He looked over at a side glance. He saw Alexis at the door. He forgot he left the door open today. He stood up from his chair.
"Lexi, what's up? Did you need something?"
She shook her head. "No, not really, I just came by to see if you needed some help." She smiled. "And by the looks of you, you look like you could use it."
Jaden scratched the back of his head, a look of embarrassment in his face. "Yeah, believe or not, I'm having a hard time."
"No, I believe you. Planning is hard. So, just take it slow. Think about it, you have an entire island around you. Anything is possible. Take him to the beach, go hiking near the volcano, hell go for a boat ride for all I care. Just don't screw it up."
Jaden felt a light bulb go off in his head. He smiled at Alexis. "Thanks Alexis. You just gave me a great idea."
She smiled back at Jaden. "No problem. Just have fun."
"Right."

"I can't believe you actually caught a cold."
Syrus blew his nose into his tissue. He felt like shit. Well actually, that was understatement. He felt lower than shit. He leaned back into the bed. His head was pounding against his skull.
"I guess this is punishment for sleeping out in the rain. To say I kinda deserve it." Syrus said.
Chazz groaned and ran a hand through his hair. "Whatever. Just stay in here alright. I don't need to catch your cold." He put on his black jacket. "I'll go and see if I can get you some medicine. Just stay here and don't do anything stupid."
Syrus nodded. "Don't worry, I probably won't move much."
Chazz left it at that. He made his way out of the room. Syrus couldn't hear his footsteps after that. He laid his head on the pillows behind him and just looked up at the ceiling above him.
All of this pain that I'm going through is all your fault Jaden. Why did you lie to me? Why did you cheat on me? Who stole your heart beside me? Why did you refuse to tell me? What is so-?
Syrus stopped right there. He felt selfish. It wasn't all Jaden's fault. That much was obvious. He himself had a part in this too. He did something wrong. He didn't know what it was, but he did something with Jaden that made him feel like the relationship that had, wasn't enough. He clenched his fists into the bed sheets. He was never enough to anyone. No one ever believes in him and his abilities. Sure, his brother Zane got the dueling skills while he got the looks doesn't mean he can't do anything on his own. He was small, but he had a huge personality.
So, what was it?
He sat up from the bed and stood up. He held his head as he walked, his other hand holding the blanket around his small frame. He felt and cold at the same time. He needed some fresh air. But then again, he had a little too much cool air last night. Ah well.
He placed his shoes on his feet and slid the door open. He was immediately hit by the cool air. He stepped out of the dorm room and sat down in front of the door. He felt the rays of the sun beating down on him. It felt great. He smiled in bliss.
He heard a door open in the distance. He looked over at the red dorms. It was Jaden's dorm room. He stood up from his spot on the ground and stepped back so that he was against the door. He saw small enough so that he was barely visible.
"Hey Jay, are you ready to go?"
Syrus' eyes widened at that voice. The accent, it was so familiar. He bit his bottom lip. How dare he? He punched the door way, he felt something in his hand crack, a bit of hot liquid rolled down his finger tips. He must have broken something. He bit down on his lip harder; he didn't want to cry out from the pain. He had to stay strong.
"I should have known." Syrus clenched his fists. They were always close. From their very first duel together, Syrus could see something in their eyes. A spark. He didn't know it then, but, he felt jealous of that connection between them. Jaden spent practically all his time with the duelist from North Academy. He practically ignored him the entire time. The only time he really cared was when Syrus was near death, which happened more than was necessary this year. "How long has this been going on Jaden?"
Syrus watched as Jaden walked down the ramp from the dorms. He had a smile on his face as he took each step. He looked so happy. He never looked that happy when he was him.
"Syrus?" Syrus heard his name being called. He clenched his eyes shut. He didn't want to hear it. "Syrus, what are you doing here? You look horrible."
Syrus felt his eyebrow twitch in annoyance. "I'm sick." He mumbled.
"Oh, I didn't think you would actually respond. I guess you're actually starting to forgive me." Jaden said.
"I'm sick of your bullshit."
"Ehh, Syrus, what's with the vulgar language? You never talk that way with anyone." Jaden shrieked.
"It means beat it loser."
Syrus heard a thump and the grass rustle. He gasped and looked down at the ground. Jaden was on the ground, he held his jaw, a look of anger on his face.
"What the hell was that for?" Jaden shouted.
Syrus looked beside him. He saw an angry Chazz, his black eyes glaring at the Slifer. He also noticed the bag on the floor by his feet. He saw the medicine peeking out from inside. He felt bad. He promised him that he won't do anything stupid and he did anyways. He bowed his head in defeat.
"I'm sorry Chazz."
Chazz turned to face him. "What the hell are you yapping about? What are you sorry for?"
"I promised I would stay inside and not doing anything stupid. But I did something stupid anyways. Now you're mixed up in this." Syrus said.
"Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on here? I'm lost." Jaden interjected.
"You never know what's going on. You do whatever Jaden's wants." Chazz said.
"Don't talk to Jay like that." Jesse shouted.
"Stay out of this. This does not concern you." Chazz shot back.
"It does." Syrus raised a bloody hand. He pointed a finger at Jesse. He just stared at him. "You're the one aren't you? You're the one who Jaden was cheating with, weren't you?"
Jaden looked back at Jesse. Jesse just grinned. "Yeah, you guessed right."

The wind hit his face as he they rode against the waves. He just leaned against the railing as the boat rode towards the island. His dark blue hair flew back and forth in sync with the breeze. It felt nice. But he didn't care about that. He wanted to make it to the island soon. He wanted to help his brother. He needed him. He was seriously hurting right now.
Zane gripped the railing dangerously tight. Jaden. He couldn't believe him. A small part of him hoped that Chazz was wrong. But then again, a small part of him hoped that Chazz was right. If Chazz was indeed lying to him, Zane won't know what to do. He's risking his life going to see Syrus. If he has another heart-attack, he doesn't know what will happen. Sure, they had the infirmary where he stayed before he was transferred, but he didn't know if the school infirmary was enough for him.
"Whoa, calm down. I don't need you ruining the railings of my boat."
Zane looked back as the teen walked towards him. His hands on his hips as his silver hair blowing swiftly in the breeze.
"Shut up Aster, you don't know what I'm thinking right now."
"Then tell me what you're thinking about? For that matter, you haven't told me why you're coming to the island. What's up?"
"None of your business Phoenix." Zane said.
"It is my business when I'm using my boat to drive to the island. Not to mention you should be in the hospital. Why the hell are you out here and not in there getting treatment? Answer me, Truesdale."
"I'm going to see my brother."
"Syrus? What did something happen to the little squirt?"
Zane looked back towards the front of the boat, he growled and grinded his teeth. "Just keep us on course to Duel Academy."
Aster rolled his eyes and sighed. "Honestly," He walked away, his hands in his pockets. "It's this kind of crap that's going to kill you."

Chazz looked around the academy store. His sights set on finding some medicine for the younger duelist. But as he walked, he couldn't help but wonder, why was he doing this for the kid? They weren't really friends? He thought the shrimp was a sarcastic little punk who didn't know his place. But, for some reason, seeing him run out of the classroom, a look of despair on his face, he felt something set off inside of him. Pity maybe?
But was that all this was? Pity! No. That can't be it. It was something more than that? But what? It must being something worth his time because he gave him advice, he gave him strength, and he told him about his problems with Lexi. He even saved his ass from the rain. So, what made him do all of that?
"Chazz, what can I help you find? You seem to be looking for something important."
Chazz looked over at Dorothy as she walked over to him. He sighed. "Yeah, I'm just looking for some cold medicine."
She blinked. "You don't look sick?"
"It's for Syrus."
"Oh. So, you're helping a friend?" Dorothy said.
"He's not my friend; he just needs some help is all." Chazz corrected her.
Dorothy shrugged her shoulders. "If you say so. But just to let you know, the medicine is behind my counter. No medicine stays up front. School policy."
Chazz wanted to face-palm. He should have realized that much. He's been on this island for three years. He should have known this already when he got a small cold after falling into the lake near Obelisk Blue. He scratched the back of his head. Which wasn't all that long ago?
"R-Right. I guess I forgot." Chazz admitted. Making his move, he made his way over towards the counter. Dorothy was already ringing it up the medicine as he did so.
"Was this all you needed?" Dorothy asked.
"Yeah."
"Alright then," She took the PDA from Chazz's hand and scanned it before handing it back to him. "There, you good to go. Tell Syrus I told him to get better soon. He has finals to study for."
Chazz grabbed the bag and quickly left the store. He knew that Syrus was waiting for him. Poor kid.
As he left the Academy building, he left for his dorm. He still questioned why he was doing this. Was it just for a future favor? No. If he didn't like the kid, why would he want him to owe him anything?
This was stupid! Why was he thinking about it so much? He knew the kid for years. There shouldn't always have to be a reason to be nice. But, then again, he and Syrus were never close. So...why?
"I'm sick of your bullshit."
Chazz saw Syrus; he had his blanket wrapped around his small frame. He saw small droplets falling from his right hand and land onto the green grass below him. In front of him was Jaden, he had a look of shock on his face. He even stepped back a bit, his hands up in defense.
"Ehh Syrus what's with the vulgar language? You never speak to anyone like that." Jaden shrieked.
Chazz quickly made his way over but no one seemed to notice as the whole ordeal went down. He dropped the bag of medicine and raised a fist.
"It means beat it loser." Chazz shouted. Chazz quickly raised a fist and it came down lightning fast down on Jaden's jaw. He watched as the Slifer fell onto his back. Jaden groaned and held his jaw. Chazz glared down at the brunette as he sat up from the grass. A small trail of blood rolled down from his mouth.
"What the hell was that for?" Jaden shouted.
You disgust me Jaden. You had just broken up with the guy and you treat him as if nothing had happened between you at all. How more idiotic can you possibly get? I thought you matured.
"I'm sorry Chazz."
Chazz looked over at Syrus. He saw his head was bowed in defeat. He looked someone just kicked his puppy and then killed it right in front of him.
"What the hell are you yapping for? What are you sorry for?"
I promised I would stay inside and not doing anything stupid.
Chazz looked over as Jesse ran over towards Jaden. Jesse seemed to stand his ground. He guarded Jaden with protection radiating off of him. What is this?
"Stay out of this. This does not concern you." Chazz shot back.
"It does." Syrus raised a bloody hand. He pointed a finger at Jesse. He just stared at him. "You're the one aren't you? You're the one who Jaden was cheating with, weren't you?"
Chazz's eyes widened. Was that the reason? Was Jesse the one Jaden was messing around with? He clenched his fists? That bastard.
Jaden looked back at Jesse. Jesse just grinned. "Yeah, you guessed right."
"Bastard." Chazz shouted.
"Hey, what's going on guys? You guys in some kind of disagreement or something?"
Everyone stopped what they were doing. We looked over towards the docks. Aster stood along the cliff edge but not too close. He also had a guest with him.
"Z-Zane, what's up man?" Jaden greeted Zane.
"Jaden Yuki, if I were you, I would shut up right now." Zane growled.
Jaden jumped. He moved behind Jesse and cowered in fear.
"So, they actually let you out. Or did you sneak out." Chazz asked with a grin on his face.
"They let me out but they gave me a regimen. I have to follow it. But enough about me. I want to get to the part about my brother and his supposedly cheating ex." Zane explained. He crossed his arms over his chest. "Wanna explain something Jaden?"
Jaden just cowered from Zane. He knows how Zane is. Hiding is not his style, but he wanted to live another day.
"Zane, why did you come here?" Syrus asked.
Chazz looked in Syrus' direction. He saw tears rolling down his small pale cheeks. He wiped his tears but that only smears stray blood across his face. Zane notices the blood and his eyes widened.
He walked over to his little brother. He grabbed Syrus' right hand and examined it. He could see the fractured limbs and the cut where the blood was sourced. He growled to himself.
"How did this happen?" Zane asked.
"I did it myself. But that doesn't matter. Why are you here?"
"Where do you two think you're going?"
Chazz, Zane and Syrus looked over as Aster held Jaden and Jesse by the collars of their jackets. Jaden tried to struggle out his hold but Jesse just stood there, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Just let us go already. We did nothing wrong. Why stand in the way of who Jaden really wants to be with? Just let him be happy and move on already. Shit happens that much is obvious. So, stand up for yourself and move on. There is someone out there for you, just not Jaden." Jesse shouted.
"Shut up Anderson, this is-!"
"No," Syrus grabbed Zane's sleeve and held it tight. "He's right." Syrus turned around and walked away. "I'm just an idiot who got too attached to something would obviously get snatched away from me by someone much better than myself. I mean, it always happens. This is no different. Why do I even bother trying?" He just walked away, back towards his dorm in Ra Yellow.
Zane looked back at Aster and directed him towards Syrus. Aster nodded, removed his hands from around Jaden and Jesse's collars and ran after Syrus.
"Now, we have some things to discuss." Zane said. He cracked his knuckles and smiled. "So if I were you, I would get talking and fast."
