Chapter 7
I entered my room and slammed the door, before turning around and slamming my head against the door in exhaustion. Groaning I hit my head on the white door several more times.
"What'd the door ever do to you?" A voice asked behind me. I moaned in annoyance before turning my head against the door to look at my room. It was a large room. One side was covered with drawings and paintings scattered all over the wall - which was splatter painted various colours. In the middle was a large white window. Leaning against the wall in the corner was an easel and beside it was a black frosted window door, leading into my art supply closet.
On the other side of the room was sheet music covering the beige wall with various musical instruments scattered around. In the middle of that side was another large window. Right in the middle of the room was a black, round, king sized bed with silver sheets on it. The entire wall behind the bed was one large black bookcase with a door in it, near the bed. My eye twitched in irritation as I took in the bed. Sitting on it was Shimura and Ibi surrounded by a variety of different snacks and a bucket of ice cream in between them. Shimura had her legs stretched out in front of her, while Ibi was sitting crossed legged with Shimura's feet in her lap.
"Why are you guys here?" I questioned.
"I was upset and needed a pick me up, so we came over here to hang with you and pig out on candy." Ibi mumbled shoving a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth.
"Okay what's wrong?" I asked here, walking across the room and collapsing on the bed. I then crawled forward on my hands and knees before falling onto my back and placing my head in Shimura's lap. She patted my head after I flung my arm over my eyes.
"Nothing's wrong." Ibi said, her voice sounding higher pitched than usual. I peeked out from under my arm and glared at her.
"I know when you're lying to me, Ibi." I said sternly. She looked down at her lap and wrapped her arms around her stomach. Just as she opened her mouth the door in the bookcase opened and out walked Hotaru. He stood there in nothing but jeans as he dried his white hair with a towel. I raised an eyebrow at him as Shimura blushed and Ibi's jaw dropped, her face turning completely red.
"PUT A SHIRT ON!" Ibi shrieked, slapping her hands over her eyes. Hotaru blinked at us for several seconds before shrugging.
"No." He replied smirking at Ibi.
"Fuyoko do something about him!" She yelled at me.
I looked at Hotaru from the corner of my eye before saying, "Put a shirt on." Not really caring. Hotaru sighed, walking over to one of his many guitar stands and pulling a black shirt off of a red guitar. I noticed out of the corner of my eye Ibi peeking through her fingers and watching my twin's muscular back as he slid the t-shirt on. She quickly snapped her fingers closed when he turned around and looked at us.
"Happy." He grumbled. Ibi dropped her hand from her face as Hotaru sat next to her. She blushed when he reached over her lap for a pack of gummy worms. I smirked at the two before looking at Ibi.
"So what's wrong?" I asked her.
She sat there staring at her lap again before speaking as she twiddled her thumbs. "Cain and I broke up." Ibi mumbled. Shimura and I looked at each other before turning back to her.
"I'm sensing that's not all. He dumped you didn't he." I said to her. She just opened her mouth when Hotaru cut her off.
"Of course he dumped her." Hotaru mumbled, biting into a gummy with a sour look on his face.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Ibi glared at Hotaru. I looked at his face and knew that he was about to snap.
"Nothing." He whispered glaring at the bed. I was about to cut in when Ibi snapped her head at me, making me shrink away.
"Don't you dare cut in and stop him from talking." She hissed before looking back at Hotaru. "Now what the hell was that supposed to mean." I flinched as Hotaru snapped.
"Because who'd want to date a fatty like you." He yelled at her, before freezing. Ibi stared at him, tears staring to form in her eyes. "I-I…" he started when she cut him off by slapping him.
"You're a real ass you know that?!" Ibi shouted before scrambling off the bed and running out the door.
"Ibi!" I shouted standing up while Shimura ran past me after her. Turning back I watched as Hotaru sat with his hand over his cheek, his bangs hanging over his eyes. My fists clenched as I watched a tear fall from under his hair. "I know you're in love with Ibi." I said.
He tensed even more once I said that. "I'm not…" He started, before stopping. I watched as he rubbed his check looking to the side, trying to avoid my gaze.
"I thought so." I mumbled. "It's your choice if you don't tell her how you feel. I get that you're afraid she'll laugh in your face and reject you brutally." I said, walking over to him and rubbing his arm. He then grabbed my hand and held it tightly. I squeezed back and spoke again. "Hotaru you don't have to tell her, but you can't keep letting your jealousy get the better of you."
"This happens every time she gets a new boyfriend." I continued. "You try to scare the guy off or you take your jealousy out on her and snap. Then when he breaks up with her, you make sure he comes to school the next day with a black eye. And one day she's going to find someone she loves and you'll regret not telling her. I don't want to see you heartbroken bro." I mumbled, letting go of his hand and hugging him before walking after Ibi and Shimura.
