Author's Note: Sorry, for the long wait for this chapter, especially since it's so short. Also, by the time I do upload this chapter, I will have several chapters typed and ready for upload. I hope that makes up for my prolonged silence.
Jaffar: It doesn't.
Me: I know… (Sigh)
Nino: Jaffar, that wasn't nice!
Me: It's okay, Nino. I deserve it. (Sigh, again)
Jaffar: Maybe instead of playing Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, you should have been working on this story.
Me: Uh, well, about that…uh… Disclaimer Time!
Nino: Wolfemblem does not own Fire Emblem nor will he ever own Fire Emblem, no matter how hard he wished he did.
Me: You could've left off that last part (grumble).
New Lands
Chapter 2: The First Town
Seven days have passed since the arrival to the continent of Tellius. After about three days of resting and restocking, General Gale and his men left for Elibe. As for William and company, a friend of Zihark, Tormod, was able to acquire lodging at the Governor's Manor for everyone.
The group had run into Tormod by accident when he was chasing off a group of bandits.
…Flashback
"Take this!" The fiery sage yelled as he leapt off the ground and threw a ball of fire at a bandit.
"Aaagghh!" The bandit screamed as he burned and eventually collapsed.
"Tormod? What are you doing here?" Zihark asked as he and his posse approached the young (and short) sage.
"Huh? Zihark? Good to…" Tormod started, "wait, no. No time for pleasantries! I have some bandits to roast!" He then energetically ran off towards a large group of bandits that seemed to be surrounding something that was roaring loudly. "Don't worry, Muarrim! I'm here!" Tormod shouted as he unleashed more fire on the bandits.
The green beast that was presumably this "Muarrim", leapt over Tormod and landed on a bandit rushing Tormod's blind spot.
Several bandits noticed William and his group and decided to attack them instead of the beast and magic user. Zihark and Guy each cut down two bandits while Jaffar just threw three knives each killing a separate bandit.
…End Flashback
At the Governor's Manor, the group stayed in two rooms: William, Lyn, Nino, and Jaffar in one room; and, Canas, Guy, and Zihark in another room. However, no one actually stayed in their respective rooms for long, save for actually sleeping, because they were out checking out the new town they were in. Tormod enthusiastically showed everyone around, and not surprisingly, Guy was the only one of the group to be just as enthusiastic as the height-challenged fire sage.
"That over there is a monument to the hero Ike, and over there is the barracks for the city guard, and over here is my favorite restaurant – wow, I'm starving! – And over there is –"Tormod kept announcing speedily until Zihark interrupted.
"Tormod, I think you've covered enough," Zihark started. "Let's go that 'favorite restaurant' of yours."
"Really!? Awesome!" Tormod shouted joyously.
Muarim approached Zihark and said quietly, "You know, he thinks that you are paying." Zihark froze.
"Oh no," was all ZIhark could utter as he knew that despite his fiery friend being quite lacking in the height department, he could still eat as much as Ike, who could in turn eat as much as a lion.
…
"Wow! I'm stuffed!" Tormod exclaimed.
"Me too!" Guy agreed.
Zihark just wept off to the side because he had to pay for all of William's group (Muarrim had decided to pay for himself and Tormod to give Zihark a break.) because they did not have the currency of Tellius, and their Elibean money was worthless here. Despite the rest of the company eating cheaply, Guy ordered the exact same thing as Tormod which happened to be the most expensive item on the menu.
"Don't worry, Zihark, we'll pay you back," William comforted.
"No, no, you don't have to pay me back, "Zihark started. "The only one who needs to reimburse me is Guy!" He finished.
"Wait, what?" The Sacaen swordsman asked utterly confused.
"Well, that seems fair," Lyn commented.
…
After a few more days, the group left the town, which for some odd reason no one had even told them its name. They waved good bye to Tormod and Muarrim as they continued on their journey.
…
Author's Note:
Once again, I'm sorry for the brevity of this chapter, but it wasn't as short as Tormod!
Tormod: Hey! Enough with the short jokes already.
Me: Alright, I'm sorry. I have nothing against you, Tormod. I must say, though, you were the one who kept bringing it up during the Daein Liberation War.
Tormod: I'm out of here!
Me: And that, good readers, is why Tormod has decided to not go with our heroes on their journey. Because I used too many short jokes (I guess you could say that he has a really SHORT fuse! Huh, huh, nothing? Really? Not even crickets?
Next chapter in about a week. I won't be late!
Jaffar: Suuure… (Rolls eyes)
Author's Note (5/7/14)
Here is a more current author's note.
Me: I would like to deeply express my apologies for not updating at all for at least two months, I think. Unfortunately, I can't say that I was busy writing more chapters to get ahead. I did get ahead a little, but most of this hiatus was 90% me not feeling like writing. Anyways, it is now summer break from college, and I am back. Also, I will be away from my home computer for the weekend, so don't expect any updates until next week. Also, the author's notes for a few more chapters have been pre written also. I didn't want anyone confused just in case I did not add a more current note. Now, Nino, please wrap up this author's note please.
Nino: With pleasure! Please Review! Also, stay tuned for next week's chapter … which I have been informed will be a chapter for Trials after Unification, Wolfemblem's FE 12 fanfic.
