September 2005
"Jake, put me down you overgrown Neanderthal," Leah growled as she kicked her legs in the air, coming dangerously close to kneeing him in the face.
"Nah-uh, baby. You asked me to help you find your new dorm room," He smirked, slapping her ass as she lay over his shoulder.
She could hear several wolf whistles as he strode through the halls with her draped haphazardly over him. She was certain he wouldn't drop her but still, she hated being in a position where Jacob literally held the power over her.
"If you don't put me down now, I am going to rip your balls off and make sure you never have little Jake's running around Washington."
In a heartbeat she was flipped back to her feet.
Grabbing the doorframe of a nearby room, she had to focus before she toppled over from the sudden rush of blood running back into her body from her head. She even tried to swing at Jake with her open palm, but because of the dizzy spell, she missed by a mile, which only made him laugh harder.
He dodged her before he stood in front of her with a smile that she absolutely hated. Not because it wasn't the most beautiful things she'd ever seen, but because it was. Jacob was graced with looks that should be illegal.
"You're cute when you're mad," he mused, sweeping forward and engulfing her between his arms so she couldn't escape or try to hit him again. "Like a little pissed off ladybug. So tiny."
"I am not tiny." She huffed when he pressed his nose to hers in a simply sweet gesture.
"Sure, sure." He beamed, sweeping down to plant a quick smack on her lips.
"Call me later?" Leah mumbled, as they pulled away from each other. "After you get settled?"
"You got it. I still can't believe I'm here. Playing ball for UW. Especially with my girl."
That smile appeared again, the one that felt as if she was being kicked in the chest by one of those fat little cherubim angels.
She snorted at his proclamation and pushed against his chest. "So cheesy. Honestly, I have no idea how you manage to persuade any girl to date you."
"Hey," he fake pouted, before he smirked. "Worked on you, didn't it?"
"Yeah. I guess I did. But I'm clearly an idiot." She grumbled.
She could still picture her mother's face the moment they told her they were dating. Sue had glared at the both of them for getting her hopes up and messing around until Jacob raised their clasped hands in her kitchen. If she were honest, her ears still hurt from the scream her mother let out, no doubt happy that she hadn't turned into a lesbian, and was actually dating a real life boy. A real Pinocchio moment.
He pressed another kiss to her mouth, squeezing her waist. "I'll see you later, aight? After practice, I'll come through."
With a wink, Jacob disappeared back down the hall.
