Hey everyone. I'm back with another chapter of my story. I'm really sorry it took so long to come up with another chapter but I just didn't have inspiration or time. Since my latest update (chapter 2) I got so many reviews, followers and favorites. It makes me so glad. I have to do a lot for school but I will try to write and update as often as possible. Enjoy this chapter.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Hunger Games.
Previously:
Katniss has to say goodbye to her family and her friend Madge who gives her a Mockingjay pin to wear in the arena.
Chapter 3
The Peacekeepers take me to the train and I'm glad I didn't cry. The station is full of cameras and journalists. The cameras and the journalists make me feel like I'm an animal in a cage. Finally I see Peeta, I can see he had a hard time too. The next three weeks are our last weeks together and only thinking about it makes me sad. I push the thought out of my head, I still can't cry.
As soon as we get on the train Effie shows us around and says there will be dinner in an hour. I take a shower. It's the first time I take a shower and it feels like a warm, nice rain. When I'm done I pick some new, comfortable clothes.
Just after I'm ready, I hear a knock on the door. I open the door and there stands Peeta. As soon as I open the door he takes me in his arms. I hug him back but soon I feel like I can't breathe. 'Peeta, let go, I can't get air. ''Sorry, I just want to hug you now we still have the chance. The Games are our last weeks and I want to join them, together.'' I want too, but there is not much to enjoin when you suffocate me.' Peeta smiles at my comment. He leans in for a kiss but the moment I lean in too Effie calls. We groan because Effie interrupts us. Apparently dinner is ready.
We sit down on the table which is filled with so many food I don't think we can all eat it. Most of the food is unfamiliar. 'Where is Haymitch?' Effie asks although she doesn't seem to like him. He's probably in his bed, too drunk to do something I say. Yeah he's drunk every single day Peeta says. We can't help it but we laugh. Effie clearly doesn't enjoy it and with a strict voice she says 'Good you can laugh about it, but he's the one who gives you advice and may be the difference between living or dying! Peeta and I stop laughing, a drunk Haymitch might be funny but Effie is right. Peeta is the first to apologize. 'Sorry Effie. You're right. We will make sure he's sober enough to mentor us.' Effie nods and we start eating. The food is delicious and I try not to stuff myself but I've never had this delicious food and gaining some weight might be a good thing to do. At the end of dinner Peeta is looking a little green and so do I apparently.
This was chapter 3. I'm not very happy about it but I hope the next chapters will be better. I already started chapter 4 so I think the next update will be soon. Tips and ideas are very welcome through a review or PM.
