After having breakfast, Livia headed into town to run some errands. She didn't have much to wear and felt as though she needed some fresh air. Damon and Stefan were busy trying to get information on the new potential werewolf that was lurking around Mystic Falls.

After an hour, she headed to the Grill, she wasn't feeling too well. Her head was slightly spinning and she felt weak. She tried to humor herself on saying that maybe they had been too eager to catch up the night before. She walked up to the bar.

"What can I get you"? asked Matt.

"A glass of ice water, please".

He looked at her. Now that was quite unusual. The majority of the time people who came to sit at the bar asked for booze.

"Okay, one ice water on the way", he said smiling.

Alaric arrived and sat at the bar a couple of stools away from Livia. Matt greeted him with Livia's water in hand.

"That's not going to do it, not strong enough", said Alaric mocking Matt.

"Haha, funny. It's not for you, it's for the good-looking brunette sitting at the end of the bar".

Alaric turned his attention to the end of the bar then back at Matt.

"Ok, so I agree, she's beautiful, but if I were you, I'd keep my hands to myself".

"Why, because she's older"?

"No. Because she's with Damon. That's Olivia".

Matt looked at her. "No freaking way. She's Damon's wife? Man, Damon is one lucky guy".

"He sure is. Get me a whiskey will you"? said Alaric as he stood from his stool and headed towards where Livia was sitting and sat down next to her just as Matt returned with their drinks.

"That's being very reasonable", he said pointing at her glass of water.

She turned and looked at him. "Trust me, I'm not always reasonable", she said giving him a warm smile that made his heart melt. He understood why Damon had fallen in love with her.

He put his hand out. "I'm Alaric and you are Olivia".

"Finally, I get to meet Damon's friend Alaric". She took his hand and shook it. "It's a pleasure to meet you".

"Same here. Call me Ric".

She nodded. "Then call me Livia".

"So, Damon's already abandoned you, huh"?

She leaned in closer to him and whispered. "No, he and Stefan are investigating your little lupine problem".

He nodded. She took a sip of her water and slowly tugged at the collar of her blouse. "Is it hot in here or is it just me"?

He shook his head as he looked at her. "Actually, it's freezing in here. Are you alright"?

"Yeah, I'm fine", she said as she tried to smile. The room started to spin. She held on to the edge of the bar hoping to make it stop but it wouldn't. She drank another sip of her water.

"I'm going to get some fresh air. It was a pleasure meeting you Ric".

"Same here".

She stood from the stool and took a few steps. As she walked the room spun, she felt hot and faint. Suddenly her eyes revulsed themselves and she fell to the floor like a lifeless chiffon doll.

Ric who had been watching her leave, stood immediately and rushed over to her.

"Livia"?

She was unresponsive.

Matt joined him. "You want me to call Damon"?

"Yeah, tell him to meet me at the Mansion".

"Got it".

The rest of the patrons watched as Ric lifted Livia in his arms and walked out of the Grill.

Damon rushed into the mansion to find Ric sitting in the living room watching over Livia who was on the sofa.

"What the hell happened"?

"I don't know, she passed out at the Grill.. and she wasn't even drinking alcohol".

Damon walked over as Ric joined Stefan.

"Has she been feeding Damon"? asked Stefan.

"Yeah of course she has. I've made sure of it, ever since we found her, to make sure she got her strength back". He looked at Livia. "If only I knew what was wrong I could do something".

"Maybe we can help"? they heard a voice from behind Stefan and Ric. They all turned around and found themselves face to face with Elijah and a young girl.

Damon snubbed him. "I doubt that you can be of any help Elijah. Shouldn't you be in New Orleans"?!

Elijah walked past Stefan and Ric towards, ignoring Damon's attitude. His heart broke as he looked at Livia, it was obvious that something was wrong. Even though she looked as beautiful as the day she had left New Orleans, she looked frail, pale and fragile.

"It's black magic", said Elijah.

"What"? said Damon as he looked at him.

Elijah pointed to Davina. "That's why I brought a witch with me. She can try to help and find out what's wrong".

Damon shook his head. "Wait, your visit here is not on a whim? You actually came here to see Livia"? He didn't like the sound of that. "Why? And why is your witch aware of what's ailing Livia"?

"I asked Davina to make sure that Livia was alright. I knew that Klaus wouldn't be happy with her leaving and would do something about it. When she did the spell, Davina felt something and we knew you'd need our help".

Damon stood. "Let me be clear, I don't like you , thinking, worrying, caring or hovering over my wife. If I'm letting you stay, it's only because you brought a witch who could potentially help Livia, when she's better, you'll head back to New Orleans and stay there and find someone else to occupy your thoughts".

Elijah looked at him but didn't respond verbally or physically. It was clear that Damon was marking his territory, thing he probably would do as well if Livia were officially his, but there was no way, he would stop what he did when it came to her. He motioned to Davina to come closer.

Damon stood from the sofa and let Davina take his place. He stayed within arm's reach and alert and when he looked at Stefan and Ric, they were also ready to intervene if necessary.

Davina placed her hands palm down over Livia's body and moved them from head to toe as she mumbled words. They all watched as she did so for a couple of minutes. Eventually she lowered her hands and looked at Elijah.

"I need to get a few things to give me more power".

"Excuse me, but I'm the one you should be talking to", said Damon.

Davina turned and looked at him. It was obvious that she didn't like him. She on the contrary had always gotten along with Livia and she had always known Livia with the Mikaelsons, so technically, Damon was no one to her. Nevertheless, to ease the tension she repeated to his face what she had just told Elijah.

"Let's get what you need", said Elijah. "Then we'll come back". He then turned to Damon. "If that's alright with you"?

Damon nodded and Elijah and Davina left.

Stefan and Ric looked at Damon. "Do you trust him"? asked Ric.

"Something is obviously wrong. Do we have much of a choice"?

"I guess you're right, but we need to be careful".

"Trust me, if he tries anything, I won't let him".

"Damon, you do remember that he is an original.. you can't kill him", pointed out Stefan.

"I know that.. I'll temporarily put him down. I've just gotten Livia back, I'm not about to lose her".

As Elijah and Davina drove off she made him stop the car when they were far enough from the Salvatore Mansion.

"What is it"?

"I lied", said Davina.

"What do you mean"?

"I know what is wrong with her, I only need those things to confirm part of what I know".

"Would you mind sharing with me what it is and why you didn't tell Damon"?

Davina looked at him straight in the eyes. "Because, it might involve you and he doesn't need to know that yet".

"What are you talking about Davina"?

"The dark magic spell that was cast on her altered her temporarily, allowing her to do something she wouldn't have been able to do if she was a vampire".

"Altered her? I don't follow you".

"She became human again for a moment of time".

"Human? How is that possible"?

"It's dark magic Elijah and with that you can practically do anything even if only temporarily".

"So what has she gained by becoming a human"?

Davina swallowed uneasily. "Being able to get pregnant".

His eyes opened wide. "She's pregnant? She's bearing a child"?

"Yes Elijah and knowing dark magic and who can do it, I'm more than certain that it didn't happen here".

"You mean it happened in New Orleans".

Davina nodded. "And my best bet is that someone did the same spell on you".

"She's pregnant with my child".

"That's what we need to find out. I'm sure this is quite a shock Elijah and I'm sorry to have said the way I did, but you may have to come to terms with the fact that she is carrying your unborn child".

He put the car back in motion. Even if he didn't say anything, he didn't think less of the situation. Before becoming a vampire, he had always wanted to have children and raise a family alongside a woman he loved truly and madly. He had given up hope to ever have that. The mere possibility that Livia was carrying his child, warmed his heart. He loved her and if it was the case, he would fight to have her and leave Damon, being married to him or not!
