Good morning, everybody. This is Marietta Ellis reporting from the scene of last night's fire at Lapray College. According to the fire department, the fire was finally put out at 3:20 this morning. Authorities say the fire started when a cigarette butt fell on the wood chips by the entrance. The fire grew rapidly, gutted the first two floors of the library, and significantly damaged the third. The library staff is assessing the damage done to the collection, which included many rare books. Several students were injured, including Crystal Devroe, who is currently being treated for a concussion and smoke inhalation. Many more were killed by the fire, including student librarian Cossette Akira, who was found near the entrance with a rare books spilled around her.

The fire also proved true what many thought was a recent tall tale of the students here. Several months ago, what appeared to be a Chronos robot saved a student from a severe beating. People chalked it up to a vivid imagination or maybe an HAR joyride. The mystery HAR appeared again last night and helped a dozen people out of the library. We are now going to speak with one of those rescued, Christian Devroe. Christian, it was said that you looked more puzzled than others when the robot teleported you out the building. Would you please explain why?

Certainly. Earlier in the semester, one of my sister's tutees was stuck in a bathroom due to a malfunctioning door. I went for help, but she had gotten out on her own while the door was still stuck. I asked her how she did it. I thought her answer seemed odd at the time, but it certainly makes more sense now.

Thank you, Christian. That leads to another big reveal. The Chronos HAR was none other than Charlotte Galbraith, a sophomore here. How she accomplished the feat is still being researched by WAR, but she used her ability to help out. Several people said they were teleported or carried out by a Chronos 'bot. As the tales circulated, more people watched the north side of the library, where we got some excellent footage. Since the crew got there later, this shows the latter rescues. Charlotte did not teleport as much due to extensive damage to the robot system and instead relied on breaking through walls to get people out.

However, she used the time stopping ability one last time when a student threatened fire fighters because they did not save his girlfriend. According to the robot's designer, she had very little fine control left on any system, so the blast was a large, nearly uncontrolled one. Not only the student but three others nearby were frozen by the blast for two and a half minutes. As you see, this strain proved too much for the stasis field generator, which ripped open. Charlotte was unable to hold the robot form any longer and changed back into her human body. This led to another unpleasant surprise for the crowd; in the arena, combatants feel the pain of every hit but are physically unharmed. Charlotte took the extensive damage with her back into her human form. She was pronounced dead on the scene from massive internal bleeding in her chest.

I'm here with Ibrahim Hothe, designer of the Jaguar 'bot. Mr. Hothe, you said you have more information regarding Ms. Galbraith and her ability.

Yes. I was at the cemetery for a burial when a movement in my peripheral vision caught my attention. It looked like an HAR, so I went to investigate. I kept thinking I got glimpses of it, but it seemed to flutter away. I was going to investigate the woods at the back of the cemetery, but someone called back and said, "Ib, if you don't hurry back here, you're walking home!" I wondered about it ever since. From what I remember, the colors match up. If it was indeed Charlotte, I think the fluttering was because she was trying to get away and be undiscovered. I can't say I blame her, especially after I saw how the crowd at the fire watched her every move.

We are not sure how she developed this ability, but our R&D team is currently looking into it. We do not want this to happen to anyone else.

And on the phone, we have Mr. Luke Galbraith, Charlotte's father. Mr. Galbraith, how is your family at this difficult time?

We are still finding it hard to believe that Charlotte is gone. We are sad that she did not tell us about what she was able to do, but we are glad that she used her ability to help others.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

Yes. This whole ordeal has clarified what one of our sons told us after she went back to college after Thanksgiving. He said 'Charlotte was there, and then suddenly, a robot. The robot cut wood, and then, Charlotte again.' He's always had quite an imagination, so we thought he was just telling a story, but he insisted every time that 'Charlotte became a robot, like the ones in the arena.' If only we had believed him and asked her…

Thank you, Mr. Galbraith for speaking to us in this difficult time. Please accept our condolences on your loss. Back to you, Grant.
