A/N: Welcome back to Sound my wonderful subjects. First things first, so apparently a bunch of losers want to shut Elsanna down. I personally find it funny. It won't happen, you can't kill an idea. So for those who are retreating to another site, I don't blame you, but I won't be scared off by a bunch of naysayers! I love Elsanna, and I am staying here! But I do have an alternate site just in case. None of you should be bothered these losers, we're better than this.
Anyway, I would like to thank Elsa The Ice Biotic, my partner in crime! She's a great Beta Reader guys, a Queen couldn't ask for a better one!
I don't own Frozen or the possibly mentioned countries, just the plot. Please enjoy.
The sirens rang more shrilly as Elsa and Snow arrived at the Capital. Everywhere, Tamers and their companions were running around yelling and getting into their battle gear. However the most clearly seen thing was the fact that the entire place was on fire. There were spots of great big fire patches. The plants, the roofs and entire buildings were burning. Civilians were fleeing or trying to put out the flames.
"What caused all of this?" Elsa asked with shock. Snow just shook his head as he sent out an ice blast towards the nearest fire. Elsa quickly followed his example also sending a bigger version of the ice blast. Unfortunately many of the fires grew in intensity and size. And for Elsa that was bad. She did not do well in heat. So to be in a burning city, her performance would not be at its peak. But despite that, she and Snow were beginning to beat some of the smaller fires. Thick black, and grey smoke was filling the air. People were panicking, but the larger fires grew still.
Ten minutes into the fire fight, a wave of fire flew on the tops of extinguished buildings. Elsa, who was beginning to sweat at this point, looked to see what caused the sudden wave. And on top of the smaller buildings, which was already burning, on a ledge, a black wolf with green eyes stared down, its mouth full of flames; around its paws, were small balls of deep red fire. And its back was also in flames. But the fire did not seem to affect it.
"Snow! There's a Fire Elemental on that ledge!" Elsa yelled, pointing the animal out. Snow turned his attention to the direction Elsa pointed out. When he saw the wolf he snarled menacingly. The white wolf shot a large icicle at the black wolf, but it merely melted it with a blue flame.
"I've been looking for you" the wolf called out, revealing to be female. Elsa glared, suddenly a window burst in the distance, and more flames and screams erupted. Seeing this, Elsa reached out her right hand and sent a heavy flurry of snow in the direction of the window. It doused some of it, but since the building was still on fire, it made little difference. By the time Elsa turned her attentions back to the fire wolf, she had moved from the ledge to the ground.
"What do you want, why are you doing this?" Elsa demanded, still trying to douse the flames, all while trying to not look away from the enemy.
"I'm not allowed to give away such vital information" the she wolf said with a deviously coy tone. She raised one of her flaming paws and stamped it back down, it suddenly made a massive tornado around Elsa and Snow, trapping them inside. Elsa's sweating started to become heavier. Her energy was starting to fade. Outside, the people who were fighting the fire, had to shield their eyes, the heatwaves were too intense for them.
"What's the matter, oh great Elsa Frossen, the heat not to your liking?" the she wolf said tauntingly as she padded blissfully through the flames. Elsa tried to shoot some ice at the opposing wolf, but it evaporated as soon as it left her hands. She couldn't fight this way. Snow leapt in front of his master, though he too was growing weak, he still managed to let out a threatening growl. But the she wolf just barked a laugh.
"How sweet" then Snow took a leap at the black wolf. He managed to bite the scruff of her neck. The she wolf let out a shrill howl of pain. Elsa smiled at Snow. He still managed to surprise her at times like this. But her smile quickly shifted when the black wolf burst into flames. Snow let out his own howl of pain now. The flaming wolf had managed to burn his muzzle and his front paws. When he had let her go, she cuffed him in the face. He fell down. He tried to get up but the burns on his paws hurt too badly, so he had to stay down.
"Snow!" Elsa yelled as she got up as quickly as possible, she too felt the burns on her hands and mouth, and she let out a grunt of pain. But she ran to her friend and stood in front of him, like he had done for her. She wiped some sweat off of her face as she reached into her utility belt, hands still stinging from the burning sensation. From one of the pockets she pulled out a decent sized dagger. But she couldn't hold it very long, her hands were beginning to hurt even worse, which meant that Snow was hurting much worse. His whine confirmed it.
"Well well, if I had known that the glory of fire would be enough to take you down, I would have done it much sooner" the she wolf said. Elsa glared weakly; her vision was going in and out.
"Don't worry, Tamer Frossen, it won't last forever, I was not ordered to kill you. Just retrieve you. Elsa opened her mouth but nothing came out. She fell to her knees, her breathing was becoming ragged. She slowly reached into the back pocket of her belt and pulled out a glass snowflake ornament. It was the one from when Elsa spent Christmas with Anna's family. It was Anna's favorite, so during the cleanup, she had taken it as a keepsake. It was her "lucky charm" during her separation with Anna. She would often look at it during the night. But now, it have to be a clue. So as the last of her strength vanished. She fell down. She placed the snowflake under a light layer of dirt and ash.
"This is all I can do for you, I'm so sorry Anna, I'm sorry I couldn't be strong enough to defeat her" Elsa thought to herself. Finally the world went black. The last thing she heard was Snow crying out to her, and the black she wolf's maniacal laughter.
Anna had decided to find this mimicry wolf that had been watching her from afar. During combat class, she saw it in the bushes, its eyes being the only thing she could actually see. Then when she went on evening walks around the dormitory, and now more around the forest trail, she would see the wolf around. She saw it trip a few times, and she thought it was cute. So tonight, she decided to confront the young beast. So after smuggling out some meat from the cafeteria, she then waited for the moon to rise.
"Ye goin to find that mimicry are ye?" Merida asked from her opened door. She was sitting at her desk finishing up an assignment. Angus was lounging on her bed.
"I am, and I want to know why it keeps watching and following me" Anna said with determination.
"If I had to take a guess, I'd say, the beast likes ye" Merida said.
"Likes me? I don't even know it, how on earth could a wild wolf like me?" Anna asked incredulously. Merida chuckled,
"Listen Anna, despite what people say, not everyone is assigned a wolf, sometimes they assign themselves to their partners" Merida said.
"Really?" Anna asked clearly intrigued.
"Oh ay! It happens from time to time" Merida said before turning back to whatever was on her desk.
"Really?" Anna asked, though it was just loud enough for her to hear. After a few more minutes, Anna left with the food from the cafeteria. When she got outside, she decided to go on the wooden trail. That's where she saw the not so mysterious wolf the most. The moon was low, but it was good enough for her – s he had a fair amount of lighting.
"Now where could it be?" Anna asked herself out loud as she walked. She was not aware that a pair of blue eyes were watching her with excitement.
"This is it! I'm going to finally present myself to her!" the young male wolf thought eagerly to himself as he shifted to his original coloring. The two walked quietly, parallel to one another, despite the distance they shared. And soon Anna found herself at a small pond. It wasn't clear, but it wasn't too murky either. There was the distant sound of frogs croaking, and a slight breeze swayed through the grass and cattails.
Anna approached the pond and looked down. But instead of her own reflection, she saw the wolf. His blue eyes gleamed on the pond's surface.
"I found you!" he said excitedly as Anna whipped around, her heart in her throat.
"Y-You found me?" Anna asked surprised.
"Yes! I found you!" he said excitedly running in tight circles in excitement.
"Well I've seen you around, so I've seen you too" Anna said nervously before offering him the food she had taken from the cafeteria. The young wolf stopped before sniffing the offering.
"Is this for me?" he asked curiously. Anna nodded,
"Yeah, I hope you like it" Anna said. The wolf immediately gobbled the food up.
"Thank you! So what's your name?" he asked happily sitting before her.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Anna asked with a raised brow,
"Nuh uh, I asked first" the adolescent wolf huffed with good humor. Anna grinned down at him, she liked him already.
"Alright, my name is Anna Summers, who are you?" Anna said introducing herself.
"I don't have one, my parents didn't give me one" the wolf said, his happy demeanor never leaving him. However Anna did not like that.
"Well I'll give you name" Anna decided on the spot.
"You can't do that" the wolf said. Confused, Anna knelt down to look at him at eye level.
"Why not? Everyone deserves a name" Anna said. But the wolf shook his head,
"You aren't my master, so you can't name me" the wolf explained.
"Well, then why did you find me then?" Anna asked confused.
"I needed to see if you were to be my master. And since we are alone, we can see, so pet me" the wolf said. Anna gave him a look, pet him?
"Go on, I don't bite, I promise" the animal said assuringly, and for some odd reason, Anna believed him. So with a slow and steady hand, Anna reached out to touch his reddish brown head, a light green glow formed between her hand and head (her hand and her head or her hand and his head?). It was a gentle, transparent light, and it gave off an odd pulling sensation in her soul. Anna's breath hitched.
"I was right! You are my master!" the wolf said before touching the palm of her hand with his warm black nose. The light then divided itself into two small orbs, and floated into Anna's hand, and his nose. There was a light warm tingling, but it went away fast.
"You can name me now!" the wolf yipped in celebration as he got up and continued running in a circle, and for some reason, Anna shared his feeling. A small (small smile? Or just smile?) spread on her face.
"You're my wolf now! This is great! I can't wait to tell Elsa about you! She'll be so proud" Anna beamed, as a blush spread on her face. The nameless wolf eventually slowed down before settling back in front of his new master.
"So what is my name master?" the wolf asked. Anna gave a thoughtful hum. She hadn't thought of this before. To be honest, she didn't expect to get her wolf until she was at least a second year like Merida. So she never considered names.
"I don't know, what would you like to be named?" Anna asked.
"Me?" the wolf asked tilting his head.
"Yes you, what would you like to be called? I can't think of anything at the moment" Anna said honestly. This time, the wolf hummed in thought, his tail thumping behind him. He suddenly let out a sound that resembled that of a hawk. Anna blinked in astonishment.
"Do that again!" Anna suddenly exclaimed. The wolf looked up at her.
"Do what?" he asked genuinely confused.
"That noise! The noise you just made, do it again" Anna said. The wolf stared at her for a moment before clearing its throat. It then let out the sound, the call of a hawk.
"That's perfect for you!" Anna grinned. The wolf smiled at her.
"You my friend, from this day on, will be Hawk Summers!" Anna declared before sticking out her hand. Hawk, stuck out his paw and placed it within hers. She shook it with earnest,
"Alright, let's go back to my room, Merida would love to meet you!" Anna said getting up. Hawk stood up too and took the immediate position of being at her right side. They then made their way back. However, Hawk took a few clumsy falls on the way. Anna did too. But they agreed to keep that to themselves.
The next day Anna walked proudly around the academy with Hawk. Some students congratulated her, while others just acknowledged her as usual. Layla, oddly enough, did not say a thing to her, and Anna was grateful for it. But something seemed off today among the staff. While they were all usually happy to greet their students, today, they seemed distant. Maybe they had a staff meeting later? Anna heard those could be depressingly boring. She thought nothing of it; at first anyway.
A few more days passed, and there seemed to be a subtle panic among the academy. Hawk often asked if she knew what was going on, but Anna didn't have the slightest idea. She asked Merida, but she just shrugged,
"Yer guess is as good as me own lass" and this bothered the young redhead. She wanted to find out what was the unspoken matter was, but she wouldn't know where to begin looking. So for now, she would leave it be.
Until one afternoon, Anna and Hawk were walking past the Headmaster's Office – she was in between classes – so she decided to take a short cut, but she noticed that his door was slightly open. Strange, seeing as it was normally closed. Seeing as things had been feeling off these past few days, Anna decided that maybe she could talk to him, even if for just a moment, but just before she was about to knock, she heard the Headmaster say,
"This has never happened before! How on Earth could one of the greatest Tamers in our world's history, be captured so easily?" this immediately caught her attention. Someone had been captured? Is that why everyone acting so oddly? She waited to see if Headmaster Helland would say something else, and as expected, he did.
"From what the reports say, a Flóga elemental attacked the Tundra Capital's main town, the fires were put out, but not everyone was accounted for" Helland said, his voice grave. Suddenly a new voice chimed in.
"Who wasn't accounted for?" Anna didn't recognize the voice, but it sounded like a woman's voice. From what Anna could tell, it was light, but Anna felt that it was hiding something sinister beneath it. Or maybe the distance between the conversations just made it sound that way. Regardless, Anna was starting to dread finding out about who had not been accounted for. A Flóga elemental in the Tundra District, was just asking for bad results. One mature Flóga Elemental Tamer could take on three Tundra Tamers, whether they were Elementals or not.
Anna then recalled something Elsa said last year during Christmas.
"If it makes you feel any better, I don't do well in heat" that's what she said.
"No!" Anna whispered in horror. And what Headmaster said only confirmed Anna's growing fears,
"The reports say that Elsa Frossen, and her partner Snow were kidnapped by the Flóga Elemental" he said. Anna was stock still. Elsa had been kidnapped. Her strong, intelligent, and always careful Elsa, had been taken down by a Flóga Elemental. The next thing she knew, Anna was running back to her dorm, Hawk quickly following behind her. Elsa was gone!
A groan could be heard in the small room. There were two poorly lit lights on the ceiling, and up near them, circling the room, were several air conditioners, however, they were quietly blowing hot air. And on the warm marble tile floor, there were two bodies – one being a burned white wolf, which was curled up in the corner near the front, where a Plexiglas wall stood, with a thick metal door in the corner with a slot near the top, and a small slate near the door handle. In the center of the floor, was a blonde woman in a Tundra District border patrol uniform. Her pale skin was covered in a light sheen of sweat. She slowly opened her ice blue eyes and looked around. Another groan of pain escaped her lips as she looked around.
"Ugh, where am I?" she asked herself bleakly. Slowly, memories of the past came back to her. She had been patrolling the border with Snow. She then gasped,
"Snow! Snow where are you?" she rasped out looking around the small room frantically. When she found him near the corner, she crawled over to him. She looked over his figure and saw his burnt mouth and paws. She also noticed that she felt a bit lighter. She looked down, her utility belt was gone. Elsa then sighed,
"That's right, we were captured, and it seems that my equipment was taken." Memories of the black wolf came flooding back. She invaded the Tundra District and was hell bent on destroying it. Then when Elsa and Snow had come, they were caught between fighting the fires, and fighting the source of the fires. Unfortunately under the circumstances, the wolf had beaten them. And now as punishment for her failure, Elsa had been kidnapped and her companion was injured.
"M-Master?" Snow asked, his voice almost as raspy as Elsa's. A small smile found its way onto Elsa's face. Snow was responding.
"Snow, you're awake, I'm glad" Elsa said, a tinge of happiness in her voice. Snow caught it however, and a single thump of his tail could be seen, before slowly standing up. He whined a bit, and Elsa winced. His paws still hurt it seems.
"Master, where are we?" he asked, as he started to look around the room. But Elsa just shook her disheveled head.
"I wish I knew, I'm not even sure how long we have been down here" Elsa sighed. Suddenly a harsh scratching sound could be heard on the door.
"Rise and shine prisoners!" After a moment, the metal door opened and in walked the black wolf from the invasion. She was balancing two trays of food on her head and back as she casually trotted in. If it weren't for the fact this wolf had attacked and kidnapped them, Elsa would have thought that the wolf had talent. But alas, the circumstances would not allow it.
"Good morning Ms. Frossen, I trust you slept terribly" the black wolf snickered as she set the food down close enough to the two Ice Elementals. However, just as the food touched the floor, Snow sprang up and tackled the black wolf. The scraping of claws could be heard. Snaps and snarls echoed through the four corners. Elsa watched in shock as her injured friend fought against the fire wolf.
"ENOUGH!" she howled before setting herself on fire. A heatwave washed through the room. Luckily Snow was not close enough to be burned again. But the heatwave was stifling and he ended up falling to the ground, Elsa not too far behind him. The black she-wolf was still ablaze until a voice coming from a hidden intercom scratched its way through the room.
"My dearest Dante, do not exert your energy on them, you were to bring them food, not give them heat stroke, come back upstairs dear, you have another assignment" the voice said. It was sweet and venomous. And made Elsa wince from her spot on the warm tile. Dante looked into a corner in the room and let out a low growl. She stared down at Snow, who was giving her a harsh glare, and she smirked.
"It's too bad you're the enemy, you're kind of cute" she said before sauntering back out of the room. When the metal door clanged shut, Elsa slowly stood up and staggered slightly to him.
"Snow, what you were thinking! You just broke one of the basic rules of when being held captive! Who knows what she'll do now!" Elsa scolded lightly. Snow sighed,
"I apologize Master Elsa, but we're stuck in a heated room! It's too warm" he complained.
"I know, it seems that our captor did some research before executing their plan, I'm afraid to say it, but there's nothing we can do for now" Elsa frowned. Suddenly a thought occurred to her.
"Snow, what about Anna? She'll be so worried! Oh God, no! What will she think of me now, one of best Tamers in the Tundra and she gets bested by a Fire Elemental!" Elsa exclaimed as she ran a hand through her messed up braid.
"Master, I believe she understands that ice is weak against fire, she won't think any less of you, but she will be worried once she finds out what happened to us" Snow said as his ears drooped a bit, and they both could not have been more right.
Night had fallen again at the academy, and while most students went to dinner, Anna was not among them. Instead, Anna was crying in Merida's lap in her room. Merida, who usually was not one for negative emotions, let the girl cry. Anna came bursting back into their dorm room a few hours prior. She was in hysterics. Merida tried to calm her down, but Anna would not calm down, so Hawk had to translate for her. He explained about the Tundra Capital being attacked and Elsa's capture. Merida was shocked to say the least.
"Anna, Anna look at me lass" Merida said quietly as she raised her friend's head. Anna's usually clear, blue eyes were clouded with sorrow, fear, and worry. Hot tears were creating rivulets on her puffy freckled cheeks.
"Lass, listen to me, cryin isn't goin te change anythin" Merida said. Anna shook her head, denial was evident, but Merida would not have it.
"Lass, she was captured! She's missing! Check-in rosters never lie. She. Is. Gone!" Merida said emphasizing the last three words. Anna suddenly snapped
"You think I don't know that! I don't want to believe she's gone Merida. She can't be! She's too smart and powerful! And! And! I just. . . . I don't. . I-I I love her!" Anna confessed through the fresh tears. Then Merida sighed before changing her expression.
"Lass, it's the simplest thing in the world!" Merida exclaimed. Anna sat in silence as she waited for Merida to tell her.
"If ye love her, then you, are going to find her and save her!" Merida said.
"Find and save her? Merida how can I do that! I'm a blank Tamer! I have literally no experience in the outside world, especially Europe! I wouldn't know where to begin!" Anna said exasperatedly.
"I can help ye with that lass, but after that, ye be on yer own" Merida said.
"How?" Anna asked.
"The second years are taking a trip to the borders of the Fauna District in one week, so when we go, sneak into the group. But from now until then, I'll have to teach you how te fight, heaven knows what's goin to happen to ye while you and that little beastie of yours travel out there, so starting tomorrow night, we have trainin to do" Merida explained. Anna sniffed as she mulled the plan over. This was going to be the adventure of a life time for her. But if it meant saving Elsa and Snow, she was willing to take it.
"Okay" Anna mumbled as she wiped her eyes. The sadness now replaced with a burning determination. A silent vow was made. Elsa would be returned to her, no matter what the cost. And she would tell her that she loved her.
_A/N: Ladies and gentlemen of the court there was chapter seven. I hope you liked it, and I hope you stick around for chapter eight. See ya then!
