(Heeeey guys, I'm back! Sorry for being so long ^^; I've been rather busy lately with school and all. Now, this chapter here, is LONG in fact, 14,167 words! I worked really hard on this and it took a very long time to write! So a review or two on this chapter, would be MUCH appreciated. Anyways! This was co-written by BurningGale, his part is from the start of the chapter onto when Kuro and Mori leave to their first classes. He's so great oh my gosh, and his style is pretty much what I want mine to be qwq but I tried to improve on that, and took my time with this chapter. Anywho, on with the story! Nothing really worth warning of in this chapter other than a few suggestive themes. Bright is my own OC)
Mokou really did miss the adorable glances he and Haru silently cherished during periods. As one of the many results of their rekindled relationship, it gave them a feeling of confidence in themselves and each other, confidence that will carry them to tomorrow's school dance. Mokou promised himself to give his friend the best time there possible, to keep up the threshold of good spirits around him.
'And it was all thanks to Mr. Akihiko,' the braixen thought as he gathered his belongings for next period. 'Which reminds me: I still need to thank him for his help. I hope I'll come across him again.'
Beneath that concern, he also wondered what kind of Pokémon he was. However, that didn't matter. Realizing he was trailing behind the Shinx, Mokou caught up to him by his side, a cordial smile adding to Haru's comfort.
"You seemed to pay more attention to me than the teacher, Mokou," Haru chuckled. Mokou's smile turned into a sheepish grin.
"As if you don't like it. And if I recall, at least I wasn't the one who blew a kiss," he retorted jokingly, winning a blush as red as a rose. Haru always had a way to be irresistibly cute, the way he had his flustered face behind his paws, something Mokou took notice of. Taking his fill of enjoyment out of the display, he decided to ease his friend with words of candor.
"Hahaha, but I do appreciate the gestures. You have no idea how happy I still am with us becoming close friends. And I still have a good mind to repay you for hurting you. So if there's anything you like for me to do, don't hesitate to ask. Okay, Haru?"
If it wasn't for standing in a hallway full of traveling students, Haru would have point-blank kissed the wonderful Braixen. However, he thought of better situations that would warrant a tender, heartfelt kiss, one that wouldn't be rushed by promising words. Composing himself, he replied, his tail aching to intertwine Mokou's.
"Thank you, Mokou. Just being a good friend to me is repaying enough. But I'll let you know if I have anything in mind. I promise."
"Okay, Haru," Mokou nodded, and the two entered their lockers to gather the materials needed for their next classes. They didn't want to waste too much time exchanging honest words. "Hey Haru, you like sour cream and onion chips?"
"Sure do," Haru replied after closing his locker, feeling the faint call of hunger. "Why'd you ask?"
"Catch!" Mokou tossed a small bag of wavy chips of the aforementioned flavor, the Shinx quickly reacting to catching it.
"Aww, you shouldn't have. I was getting hungry." Haru went ahead and opened the bag, the scent of salt and sour cream enveloping his nostrils.
"No problem. I couldn't wait for lunch period either," Mokou chuckled as he helped himself to a bag of sweet tomato basil chips. "This is my kind of flavor."
The bell had yet to ring, which meant students were still transferring classes. With time left, the two snacking friends casually made their way, relishing the comfort of each other's presence and the taste of their chips. The Braixen often looked at his friend who was happily munching. He wasn't sure why, but how he wanted to lick away the crumbs Haru's lips were gathering. Mokou blushed faintly. They were indeed becoming good friends, but kissing of course meant a new level of friendship, and he wasn't sure if Haru was ready to proceed that far. After all, they just revived their friendship, so it was wise to let time nurture it until it is ripe and ready for a more special connection. To appease himself, Mokou licked his fingers, slowly, the incorrigible part of his mind dishing out dirty thoughts. Luckily, it didn't last long.
"Hey look! There's Kuro and Mori," Haru pointed out and resumed his chewing. Thankfully distracted, Mokou smiled at his other two approaching friends. He had seen neither the Umbreon nor the Grovyle at all today, which was rather odd. Remembering back, and trying not to remember too far back, Kuro did mention apologizing to Mori. Mokou was a little curious how it went between the two.
"Hey guys! Where have you been?" the Braixen called out to them. As the friends got closer, Mokou and Haru noticed something unusual about Kuro: their fellow Umbreon was holding an ice pack to his jaw. Undoubtedly, they assessed that that ice pack had to do with their afternoon absence. Assuming the worst, they quickly caught up to their friends.
"We were just wondering where the heck you guys were. My guess it has something to do with that ice bag, huh?" Mokou inquired.
"What happened? Did you get into a fight?" Haru asked with worry.
Kuro chuckled. "Oh no, nothing like that. Why in fact, this lovable green bastard here is the cause if this," he stated, facetiously referring to Mori.
"You punched him?" Haru asked again. Mokou actually considered that possibility. Mori was angry about Kuro's rash act of betrayal, and venting his anger out on him was a possible but unwanted outcome.
"Haru, relax. I just told you it was nothing like that," Kuro said, his characteristic grin supporting his words. Mokou was relieved to see his friend's calm disposition.
"Then, what did you do?" Mokou hazarded the question. He and Haru continued eating their chips, awaiting the answer.
"I fucked his face."
The effect of those words were imminent. As if all the gears in their heads spontaneously froze, Mokou and Haru were stock-still, eyes wide, minds blank, and jaws suspended. The brusqueness of those four words seemed to have well paralyzed their entire bodies. Kuro resisted the urge to double over in laughter due to his pained jaw, seeing how the Braixen and the Shinx would incidentally make adequate statues. Clearly they did not expect such a blunt and disturbing answer.
"Wha-wh-what did you just say?" Haru uttered, breaking the looming silence. Mori sported a wicked grin as he took humor in disturbing them, and then by stressing what he said.
"I . . . fucked . . . his . . . face. He and I reconciled, and he allowed me to ravish his pretty little mouth with my tool. And he loved every second of it, didn't you my sweet Kuro?"
With nary a hint of reluctance, Kuro nodded. "That's right. We're together again. Although thanks to you, I'm gonna be tasting you for quite some time," he smirked.
"Don't act like you don't love it," Mori retorted, rubbing Kuro's jaw tenderly and kissing his cheek.
It was safe to assume that their minds were shattered like glass, for chewed-up remains of chips fell from Mokou and Haru's open mouths and into their bags. Their expressions shifted from petrified to disgust.
"Sorry Mokou, but I completely lost my appetite," Haru admitted, holding his stomach gently.
"You are not alone my friend," Mokou replied, sadly looked down at his ruined snack.
Mori snickered. "Don't worry guys. Your appetite will return once we go out for dinner tonight. All four of us, as a compliment of being friends again."
"Mmhmm. There's this diner I know that serves all kinds of food. You'll like it for sure," Kuro added, leaning against the Grovyle. Mokou stated at the Umbreon while retaining his grossed out expression. He had to wonder how his calm demeanor can transcend even the most unsettling situations.
"Umm, Kuro, are you gonna be okay?" Mokou asked.
"Oh yeah, sure. No need to worry. Mori may have been rather, wild, but I proved how sorry I was by allowing him to. Besides, this pain is worth giving Mori such gratification."
"Which I very much thank him for," Mori chuckled and shared a kiss with his lover.
"Well, I must admit, I'm glad to see you two friends again by . . . your means. And as for this diner, sounds great. What time will it be?"
"Around nine o' clock. They have a two for one special after that hour," Kuro mentioned. "Dinner hours there are the best, trust me."
"Sounds great. Nine o' clock it is," Mokou and Haru nodded. "We'll catch you later guys."
"Likewise. And who knows? Perhaps you two will have a FULL reconciliation like we did,"
Kuro said, winking at the two now madly blushing friends. With another taste of humor, Kuro and Mori proceeded to their classes, leaving them in their brouhaha. Mokou should've expected such a way to apologize, seeing their history of rather perverted acts and overall perverted nature, this shouldn't have come off as a surprise… After the rather lewd explanation of the reason as to why Kuro and Mori had been late, Mokou and Haru had lost their appetites. While walking down the hall, they tossed the bags of chips they'd snacked on into a trash bin. Mokou felt light, almost as if a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders, which in reality it was true, the weight of what he'd done to Haru was almost gone, yet a small bit of guilt threatened to undermine his newfound happiness. Like an annoying bug that won't go away, his guilt just wouldn't let up, a small portion still lying there, Mokou simply pushed it off for now. He turned to Haru, who flashed him a pearly white smile, his eyes shining with a happiness that was plainly visible in those shining pools of gold.
As Mokou and Haru entered the room, they were waved over by Kuro, as they sat, listening to the teacher drone on again, Mokou found himself thoroughly distracted, the shinx in front of him, mere inches away wasn't turning his attention to the board, he was staring right at Mokou, his eyes giving off what some may call "Goo Goo Eyes". A feeling of warmth once again settled into Mokou's stomach, blossoming out, Mokou instantly recognized the feeling, it was the same feeling he'd gotten when he and Haru watched the sun set on top of the cherry blossom tree hill. Mokou parted his lips, a puff of air coming from him, the sigh he let off wasn't of annoyance or any negative emotion at all; it was of content. Mokou found his gaze firmly affixed to those sparkling eyes he'd grown to love so much, that feeling just seemed to bubble up and over as he sat there, flame colored eyes staring into golden, a feeling of happiness covering him like a thick blanket that warmed his entire body in that feeling, that feeling of complete satisfaction. He couldn't wait for the dance the next day, nor could he for the dinner coming up. The humdrum of the class seemed to go on for an eternity, but he didn't mind it, similar to the last period, he'd just spent the entire hour looking to Haru, giggling every once and again. He couldn't help that he giggled, Haru just had that way of making you smile, his outward appearance, coupled with his all-around adorable and gentle personality; he had all the makings of an irresistibly adorable shinx.
Overhead, the bell rang, as Mr. Single said, "Have a great day, and a great weekend," students seemed to burst from their seats, frantically filing out of the class room, as if running and rushing to the next period's class would get them done with the day faster. Mokou had waited for Kuro, Mori, and Haru, falling into step beside them as they gathered their books, Mokou held his books against his waist, chatting idly with his roommates as they walked. Behind them, a certain frogadier jumped up over their heads, his powerful legs had propelled him off the ground, over the group's head and right in front of Mokou, landing with a squat, he grinned up at Mokou; it seemed that the mischievous grin he wore was always present on his face.
"Hey! Looks who's not a mindless zombie today, what happened? Things got better?" Kenji asked, moving to stand beside the braixen, the friendly air he always had about him set Mokou at ease.
"Yeah, they have! I'm sorry for worrying you guys…" Mokou said, a pang of guilt hitting his stomach as he remembered the way he'd worried the entire battle team, one of the top battlers simply shooting off tiny plumes of flame, barely being able to keep up with anyone, it wasn't normal. Yet Mokou hadn't revealed why he was so down, he didn't tell a single soul, except for Kenji. Kenji wouldn't let Mokou leave the gym until he spilled it, the reason he'd looked so forlorn the entire week, and he understood, he understood the reason why he did it, and why Haru was angry, but he wanted to let Mokou figure it out for himself, saying it would be ok, and he was right.
"Nah, its fine! I'm just so happy you're better now! Now maybe you won't be such a pushover in battle practices!" Kenji said, good natured teasing being lobbed at Mokou, it only elevated Mokou's spirits lifted to see he had such a close friend, he nodded furiously, his lips were tugged into a determined grin, oh yeah, he was back, and he would definitely show up Kenji this week.
"We'll see, I'll race you to the gym! How's that sound?!"
"Now you're talking! Get your stuff put away and we'll go!"
Mokou nodded, flashing an apologetic look to Haru, who simply giggled at the rather childish way the two were acting, he walked a few steps down, swinging his locker door open and storing his books inside, he turned to see that Kenji had walked to meet him, standing right beside the braixen, he could smell a soft scent of lavender coming from the smooth skin of the frogadier.
"On three. One"
"Two"
"THREE!"
And at that, the two tore off down the hallway, each of the contestants legs pounded forward, feet making soft slams on the ground as they ran, passing and weaving through the crowded hallways was also good work for agility, and Mokou was showing his own agility by skillfully weaving his body in and out of the crowd, he could barely see Kenji with all the Pokémon that flooded the hallways. Around the turn of the hallway was the gym doors, and Mokou quickened his pace, legs carrying him as fast as he could, he pounded forward, turning the corner, he gasped as he rounded it, seeing the frogadier leaning against the huge double doors, that same grin on his face that he had when they'd talked.
"H-How?!" Mokou gasped, completely shocked by the turn of events
"You're slower than me, ya silly fox!" Kenji grinned, feeling rather proud of his speed, he didn't expect to lose to Mokou, and was quite satisfied with himself as he won.
"Grr… let's just, get into the gym."
"Alright,"
With that, Kenji swung the doors open, the large wooden doors that had been adorned with a metal frame that encased the edges creaked open, and inside, Mokou saw the gym in a while new light, now that his preexisting preoccupations were gone. He once again saw the gym as a place to better himself, to improve, and with the first battle competitions a month off, he had to do just that before that month of preparation was gone. Surrounded by training Pokémon, Mokou set foot onto the hardwood flooring of the gym. The other Pokémon carried on training, fire types who would be practicing their fire typed moves were set at a side of the gym where they burned off wooden dummies, that area had a protective backing against it to shield the wall from the flames. Mokou decided to start off the training period there, while Kenji went off to work on his jumping height. There seemed to be few students there, while one in particular stood out above all of them, in feats of both height, and fire power.
An Arcanine stood, the large Pokémon had to be at least six feet tall; the Pokémon's much larger stature seemed to tower over Mokou, he felt a prick of intimidation hit his stomach, the build of the Arcanine matched the towering stature he had. The Arcanine had muscles that were quite visible underneath the uniform that seemed as though if he flexed his muscles, the shirt would just tear to shreds. Another quite noticeable feature the Arcanine sported was his fur, unlike the usual orange and black fur pattern of an Arcanine, the orange was replaced by a vibrant cobalt blue that almost seemed to shimmer in the light, the black striped were replaced by snow white stripes, as well as the parts where the black fur would be, the white fur took root. He turned his head to Mokou, and Mokou was surprised, the Arcanine had a very friendly face, one that would invite people to talk to him, it was actually, pretty enticing. He turned his body the large frame moving to turn to face Mokou, and Mokou saw the Pokémon's lips flash a bright white smile, the intimidation he'd felt had dissipated by now, and he smiled right back.
"Hey there! I haven't seen you around here, are you new or something?" Mokou asked,
The Arcanine nodded
"That's right, I just transferred here, the name is Kurudo, and yours?" The voice seemed almost too mellow and childish to fit that huge body, Mokou thought,
"My name is Mokou, I saw the flames you were putting out here! They looked really intense!" Mokou said, grinning now
Kurudo seemed to be flattered, a soft pink shade rose up from the cobalt blue of his cheeks,
"Well, I just try my hardest," Kurudo said,
"I can see that, well, I look forward to seeing you battle, I'm sure you'll be a formidable battler."
"Thanks Mokou~"
Mokou moved to stand beside the towering form of Kurudo, Kurudo shot a glance to Mokou, who simply grinned, and the two turned to the remaining dummies that had been set up. Mokou slipped a paw to his tail, the stick he stored there slipping free from his tail, the friction ignited the tip with a swift flick of his paw. He stood, holding the now ignited wand still, he focused himself, he flicked his wrist, and spouting from the tip of the wand, a tightly compressed ball of flame shot forth from the wand, moving at a high speed, within the next second, the ball hit a target, the ball then bloomed into a star like spread, completely incinerating the target, the flames that had shot forth ignited the other dummies as well, the target that had taken the blast full force was now a pile of blackened ashes, the two other dummies were now just slowly burning pieces of wood, the ashes from the targets gathering beneath. Kurudo stared at what used to be the dummies, a grin tugged at his lips, he didn't expect such a skinny little Pokémon to have that kind of fire power.
"Nice shot, for a little guy..." Kurudo said, a sly grin plastered over his face,
"Pfft! I'm not a little guy! You're just freakishly tall!" Mokou said, a growl erupting from his throat,
"Really? Or is it because you're only four feet tall?"
"I am exactly five feet eight inches tall! You're like what? Seven feet?!" Mokou shouted
"Six feet six inches" Kurudo retorted
"See?! You're almost a full foot taller than me! No fair!" Mokou pouted,
Their back and forth was cut short, in front of the entrance to the gym, Mr. Williams stood, a whistle in hand, he blared the whistle to life, the shrill shrieking of the whistle stopped all the Pokémon in their tracks, any conversations were silenced.
"All right! Listen up!" Mr. Williams booming voice resounded off the walls of the gym,
"Today, you'll all be paired up with a type disadvantage, we'll see how you handle them. Not every Pokémon you face will be a type you have an advantage over, so you've got to get a strategy to get around it! Today into tomorrow, the entire team will be set up against a type disadvantage. We'll start things off, with fire types against water types,"
This merited quite a few groans from the students, Mokou had stayed silent, almost grinning as he knew he'd most likely be paired up with Kenji again, and this time, he was hoping for a much for satisfying match. The fire types and water types were separated, one line of fire types and another line for water types were positioned to stand against a wall, and one by one students were called to the center of the gymnasium to battle. Kurudo had stood beside Mokou, and the two chatted idly about battle techniques, and what they'd be doing to deal with their own disadvantage. Mokou had been so into the conversation, he almost didn't hear Mr. Williams call him up to the center of the gym. Mokou felt his lips curl into a grin, he saw Kenji looking at him only mere feet away now. Sparks flew from the two, eyes locked firmly in place, they heard the couch count down,
"Three,"
"Two,"
"One,"
Kenji made the first move, he didn't go for a water typed attack, instead, Mokou saw his body seem to launch off into the air, but he didn't see the frog take to the air, instead, he had jumped the side, quickly pushing off with his powerful hind legs, he drove his body into Mokou's knowing that defense was a weak point for him. Mokou was taken by surprise, but didn't let the blow throw him off for long, he staggered, but Kenji seemed not to let up by a second, he wasn't going for one powerful move, he was going to set up so that he could finish the match quickly. Kenji opened his maw, and out shot a blast of water, it didn't seem too powerful, but it could still deal plenty of damage with the double damage, Mokou flicked his wand out, creating a light screen in a pinch to deflect the blast of water, the water droplets now scattered and landed harmlessly around him. Mokou quickly diminished the screen, he growled, Kenji stood there, both locked in a silent battle, waiting to see the other's next move. Kenji advanced, he ran at Mokou, powerful legs bringing him to the braixen in mere seconds, Mokou attempted to side step, but did not react in time, a fist drove itself into Mokou's stomach, forcing air to expel from his lungs, he groaned and staggered over, chest heaving as a wicked grin came from Kenji, he reared his mouth back, lips parting. Mokou knew he'd be shooting off a hydro pump, he wouldn't allow himself to be swept like this! He rose his wand, and outshot small psychic waves, the purple colored waves of energy danced in the air, swirling and twirling around Kenji's head until his eyes seemed to dart every which way.
Kenji let off a shout of confusion as he opened his maw, a blast of water rocketed forth, slamming into one of the bleachers, soaking the plastic seats. Mokou grinned, it was his turn to go onto the offensive, he ran to the frogadier, completely caught up in the battle, Mokou found himself not thinking about the type advantages, he wanted to show the school the battler he could be, the strength he possessed! He swung his arm, a crack reverberating in the air as his wand had made contact with Kenji's side, the frogadier let off a yelp of pain, and stared daggers at Mokou, clearly the confusion had lifted. Mokou moved his arm, a flick of his wrist and a shot of lightning crashed down just near Kenji, instinctively, the frogadier quickly side stepped, Mokou ran up to meet him, a paw that had balled into a fist meeting the frog's stomach. Just as it had done to Mokou, he had winded Kenji with that shot, he knew it wouldn't last long, in fact, it only lasted a few seconds, until Kenji regained himself and swung a fist at Mokou, he ducked, Kenji's fist just barely missing his head, he felt the air around him swirl slightly. Mokou took the chance, he flicked his wrist, and a shot of electricity thundered down on Kenji, the sparks crackling the air as it drilled into the water type. Mokou had assumed he didn't have a counter attack to worry about, but he soon found himself to be wrong. A massive blast of water drilled right into his chest, it slammed the air from his lungs and shot him across the gym floor in its wake. Mokou felt himself sprawled out, chest heaving, he slowly moved to a sitting position, his strength was fading, he felt his eye lids growing heavier and heavier until, blackness surrounded the world around him, and he felt himself slip into the inky blackness of unconsciousness.
Darkness all around him, Mokou felt his heavy eyes peer open, the blackness faded, to be replaced by a soft orange glow, turning his aching head, which at first seemed to refuse to cooperate, he looked to see he was in his room, had he been blacked out that long? He peered out of his window, his tired eyes looked through the glass, outside the sun was drifting lazily amongst the clouds, rays of orange, red, and pink light scattered all around, dying the sky in a red color. Mokou turned his head, glancing around the room, no one else was there; he felt his lips part as a yawn escaped his muzzle, a soft sigh coming afterwards. He stood; plush carpet squished beneath his paws, he stepped to the door, swinging it open, he was immediately greeted by a soft gasp from somewhere in the dorm, soon he saw Haru run in from the kitchen, stopping in front of Mokou, the little shinx's eyes were bulging with worry, which elicited a pang of guilt, those eyes were like daggers, stabbing right into his guilty conscious.
"Mokou! I was so worried! You wouldn't wake up and you looked really exhausted…" Haru shouted, his voice was just dripping with worry
"I'm fine Haru! I promise, it was just a rough match, Kenji's pretty powerful…" Mokou said, an arm moved to rest behind his head, a paw scratching behind his head
"You better be ok… Don't think I won't make you quit that battle program if you get injured too severely…" Haru said, his lips curled back into a mischievous grin
"As if! There's no way I'd ever quit!" Mokou shouted
"I'm just joking~ I wouldn't make you quit, just be more careful, ok?" Haru said
Mokou nodded, he moved to snake his slender white arm around Haru's waist, he yanked the shinx to his side, that paw moved to slip beneath his shirt, coming through the short blue hairs that made up the fur of Haru's back, he grinned down at him. Haru's golden eyes stared back at him, a shy little grin tugging at his lips, Mokou could barely restrain himself from going down on the shinx, such an innocent appearance, so many unexplored possibilities, Mokou felt a shiver run down his spine at the lewd thoughts his mind put out. He pictured how Haru would look just shivering and writhing beneath him, he would tease Haru until it seemed Haru would break, and then he'd let Haru have it, he imagined those golden eyes glazed over in lust, the slender legs of his wrapped around his waist. Mokou was spacing out, which was pretty evident by the way he seemed to be staring intently at the wall, Haru had to snap a few times to get Mokou from his stupor.
"Uh… Mokou? You're spacing out…" Haru squeaked out
Mokou shook his head, and let a soft giggle off,
"Sorry Haru, Heh, just a few things on my mind...~" Mokou said, a sheepish grin playing on his lips,
"It's alright~ now, what should we do? Mori and Kuro said we got at least three hours to kill,"
"Hmm…. I don't know what we could do…. We could watch some TV? Or maybe we could play some video games? It's been a little while hasn't it?"
Haru nodded, his star tipped tail swung behind him, swaying in the air as an impish glint flashed in his golden irises, he'd been waiting for a few moments alone with the braixen, he rose his arms up and pressed his paws into Mokou's stomach giving soft nudges until he had been pushed into their dorm room. Mokou gave a puzzled look to Haru, who simply kept grinning, rising a leg up, he pushed the door closed with a foot. The door closed with a soft click, as soon as the door had closed, Haru gave a small purr and his legs bent slightly, with a push of his legs, he jumped into Mokou, who reacted in time to catch the shinx tightly in his arms, his legs draped over the nook of his arms while Haru's arms wrapped around the braixen's shoulders, a soft purr rumbling up from Haru, who's head pushed into Mokou's chest. Mokou moved to sit on the edge of his bed, he bounced a bit as he felt the mattress cushion his weight. Haru gazed up at Mokou, the eyes that Mokou grew to adore were now free of sadness, not a single glimmer of resent lied in the golden irises, only a happy content look, Mokou felt himself begging to get lost in the beautiful eyes that stared into his own. Mokou couldn't help but begin to feel choked up, the emotional rollercoaster he'd been riding was now coming to a stop, that warm feeling he'd felt earlier seemed to be in full bloom, his entire body was heating up, it almost felt like he had a fever.
"Haru… I… I…I wanted…. To say…. Thank you…" Mokou managed to choke out
"Thank me? For what?" Haru asked, the purr of his still going strong
"For forgiving me… I… You have no idea how much you mean to me…." Mokou said, his voice seemed to be failing him, his eyes grew hot, a bit of moisture was gathering in his eyes, Haru looked up at the tone, and his purr stopped, shining in Mokou's eyes were tears, a few of which now streamed freely from the flame colored eyes.
"M-Mokou… Why are you crying? Aren't you happy...?" Haru asked, a small cobalt colored paw moved up, wiping away the tears that had streamed down Mokou's muzzle. Mokou almost flinched at this, a sigh being heaved from his chest, he dipped his muzzle down, slowly, ever so slowly; his muzzle was inching closer and closer to Haru's. Within the last few inches, Mokou's muzzle parted, as did Haru's and slowly, softly, their lips moved to wrap around each other. Mokou's lips brushed over Haru's the pair's eyes slowly moved to close, wanting nothing more than to take in every sensation that the other could offer with this kiss. Mokou's lips were much warmer, they warmed Haru's who let off a rumbling purr in response as they held the kiss in place. Mokou felt Haru's muzzle retreat from his own, his eyes slowly moved to open, staring into Haru's, a soft shade of red now overlaid the white of his cheeks.
"I… T-that… That was my first kiss…" Haru squeaked out
"H-Heh it was mine too…" Mokou stuttered, a sheepish grin plastered onto his muzzle,
"Uh…. Mind if we… lay down?" Haru asked
"Not at all~"
Haru moved to stand, unlooping his arms from Mokou's shoulders, Mokou felt himself growing a tad bit anxious, his body seemed to shake and quiver like a leaf as he moved to pull the blue sheets back, which rustled as they were set back, Haru grinned to Mokou, his legs resting against the bed as he crawled over Mokou and slid himself into the blanket. Mokou slid his legs under the blanket, soon sliding his body down to level with Haru, who grinned at the blushing Braixen. Mokou's body heat radiated off of him, the warm heat was radiated back into Haru by the blanket, who felt the warmth spreading over his body, and he wanted to get closer to the source. A slender arm moved to lay on Mokou's waist, he gave a soft tug, pulling his body along the sheets until it pressed against Mokou, the little Shinx now being thoroughly warmed by the much warmer Braixen.
"Purr~ Mokou, you're so warm…." Haru said
"You've said this before, we have slept in the same bed before you know." Mokou stammered out, a soft chuckle coming from him
"Yes, but I never really noticed just how warm you were, or how silky your fur feels…~"
Haru had now lowered his head onto Mokou's chest, laying it there, ear pressing into the Braixen's shirt, he could hear the slow, steady heartbeat of Mokou, who seemed to be relaxing. A low murr rumbling from his chest, Haru's eyes began to droop, the warmth of the blanket, mixed with the slow heartbeat that he was listening to, it began to lull him to sleep. Mokou's thoughts about what he had done, they just didn't seem relevant anymore, they'd moved on, his mistakes were forgiven, it was all in the past now. And nothing could ruin it, nothing.
He looked down to Haru, who was almost asleep at this point, in between the world of reality and the dream world that was beckoning to him, he looked up to Mokou, his golden irises glazed over with a happy glow, the smile that played on his lips wasn't too wide, rather small, but the sincerity was no less than a beaming smile.
"You know, this reminds me of a song's lyrics," Mokou whispered,
"Mmm, and those would be?" Haru questioned
"If only I had treasured you a little more...
If only we had been able to understand each other a bit more...
There are many reasons why I must give up,
But I simply cannot contain my feeling of love for you." Mokou sang softly, the voice he sang in had a soothing touch to it, like a lullaby almost.
"That's…. That's really sweet…" Haru whispered,
Mokou's chest felt heavy, it was like, he had so much love for this Shinx; that it was literally putting physical weight on his chest
"Except, it's almost the opposite, I really… Can't contain my feeling of love for you, but we're closer than ever right now, and…. I treasure you the most out of anything in this world…" Mokou said
"Mokou… You really mean it?"
"Of course."
Haru's head buried itself into Mokou's chest once again, a soft mewl coming from the little shinx
"I feel the same way… You're really important to me, that's why I was so hurt, but it's all behind us now, so we can stop worrying about that. Let's… Let's take a nap, how does that sound?" Haru asked
"Sounds great~"
Haru let his eyes droop shut, the golden colored irises now hidden behind the cobalt blue eyelids, his breathing slowed, until it maintained a steady rhythm, falling asleep in Mokou's hold, accompanied by these comforting feelings of love and warmth, it was easy for him to drift off like this. Mokou felt his muzzle curve into a grin as he lay his head back on his pillow, the soft feathers that filled the pillow squishing beneath his head, he looked up at the ceiling which reflected the red glow of the sun outside, his mind, which had been a wreck, was finally back to the usual. A sigh of exhaustion came from his lips, and with that, he let his eyes drop shut, thoughts of simply cuddling Haru for the entire day seeping into his dreams.
Mokou half expected to be awoken by a loud yell or some other rather rude interruption from Kuro or Mori, but instead, when his eyes peered open, his room was completely dark once again save for the white moonlight that filtered into the room through the window. He noticed the only sound in the room, was Haru's soft breathing paired with his own, as well as the rather loud purr that was rumbling from Haru. Mokou looked to his night stand, where his iPod lay, his paw reached over to retrieve the device, grasping the cold metal of the back of the device in his paw, he turned it over, clicking his thumb into the home button, the screen lit up, the glowing display showed the time, 8:45 PM. With a yawn, Mokou set the device back down on the night stand he moved the same paw down to Haru's head, which gave a few gentle nudges to the Shinx. Feeling his head rock back and forth, the Shinx came to, his little muzzle parting, his sharp teeth glistening in the low moonlight. His eyes looked to Mokou, who gave a warm smile in return,
"Good evening~" Mokou said
"Heh, good evening~" Haru replied,
And then, there was the interruption Mokou had anticipated, the dorm room flung open, slamming against the wall, leaving a rather loud crash to boom through the room, and in walked Kuro, who was wearing his school uniform still, he took one glance to the two in the same bed, and instantly began to giggle, his form shaking as the giggling fit took him.
"Dayum~ I knew you'd get that close, just like me and Mori~" Kuro said
"H-HEY! We did not!" Mokou shouted, a paw moved to whip back the blankets, falling onto Haru who let off a sigh, the imminent argument that would follow suit from a perverted argument unfolding in front of him.
"Oh? ~ Why did you two look so snug in that bed then, hmm? ~" Kuro retorted
"W-We just took a nap to kill time, that's it!"
"Oh? Are you sure~" Kuro kept going on with the assumption, by this point he knew that they hadn't done anything, he just loved toying with the Braixen~
"I am very sure!" Mokou shouted
"Well as I see it, I give it 'til the school dance, then that night, you two will join together in the most intimate way possible~"
With that, Kuro turned away, walking into the living room of the dorm. Mokou turned to Haru, who simply shook his head with a grin plastered over his face.
"What's so funny?" Mokou questioned
"Just that you have a bad temper when it comes to that sort of thing, it's amusing." Haru said, giving a good natured shove to Mokou
"Well I can't help it when people are such perverts..." Mokou whined
"Besides! Aren't you at least a little bothered?"
Haru gave a shake of his head in response
"Not really, being that…" As Haru said this, his words slowed, a crimson blush rising up to distort the cobalt blue of his cheeks into a lavender
"We will be doing that sort of thing…. Sometime"
Mokou felt his cheeks heat up, the white now completely overlay with a ruby blush that refused to fade, giving his clear embarrassment to the subject in question.
"Y-yeah, you're right! I mean, I could…. Lighten up you know?" Mokou managed to stammer out.
Haru nodded, an amused purr coming from the little feline as he shifted his weight, pushing it into Mokou's his head moved to rest along the Braixen's shoulder blade, nuzzling into the fire type's neck, the soft purr he emitted grew louder as once again, the much warmer body warmed his own.
"You're so silly, ya know, and it's so cute~!" Haru said,
Feeling the weight against his own, Mokou held himself into place, supporting the lounging shinx, a low murr erupting from his chest as he moved a white paw to rub at the Shinx's large ears.
"I know, I know, but I can't help it" he whined
"Now c'mon, we'll be leaving soon won't we?" Haru asked
Mokou gave a nod, he felt the shinx's weight shift from his own. A soft squeak of the springs sounded from the bed as they moved to support the combined weight of the two Pokémon, Mokou, who had already been sitting on the edge of the bed, pushed himself forward to stand up. Haru crawled off the bed, landing on all fours before standing beside Mokou, his slim feline form making almost every move graceful, he shot a glance to Mokou, who grinned at him as they walked from the room. Once they had reached the living room, they saw Mori and Kuro waiting patiently for them, lounging on the couches. They were both wearing their school uniforms, which Mokou thought was a bit strange, being that they almost always changed out of their uniforms when they got back from classes. Mokou gave Kuro a quizzical glance,
"Why are you guys still in your uniforms?" Mokou asked,
"We get a student discount at the diner, now, are you two love birds ready? ~" Kuro answered with a grin
Mokou decided to play along this time, "Of course we are, now let's go~"
With a nod of his head, Mori stood, lifting his weight from the couch, he walked to the door, a green hand turning the knob to swing it open, the three followed after Mori, heading down the hallway to the east, and stopping at the elevator. The group waited for the doors to swing open, after a few seconds, a small chime was heard, and the doors swung open with a mechanical swish.
From the doors emerged a familiar Pangoro, who had a Linoone clinging tightly to his leg, Mokou looked not to Leaf, but the little boy who clung to his leg. The little guy looked to be no more than eight, he couldn't be more than ten years old at his size, only standing to just past four feet six inches tall, and he looked like a dwarf next to the large Pangoro. The boy's body was just as Mokou would have expected, slim and slender, with a frail figure to match the innocent blue eyes that looked at the group.
"Hey! Funny meeting you here Leaf, who's that?" Kuro said, a paw pointing towards the Linoone
"O-Oh! Uh, you see, he's my new roommate, he just arrived today, and his name is Bright. Err, say Hello Bright," Leaf said, he seemed almost jittery about the boy
"H-Hello, it's nice to meet you," Bright almost whispered, the voice was just as small as the rest of his body
"Hello~" Kuro said, looking down at the smaller male, his red eyes looked into the shining innocent electric blue orbs that stared right back
"Welcome to the academy!" Haru said
"I hope we can get to know you a bit better," Mokou said, suddenly, an idea struck him
"Hey Kuro, why don't we take Leaf and Bright along with us!" Mokou asked
"That's a great idea, but do they have the money?" Kuro asked, turning his attention to Mokou
"I could pay, I got a bit extra for my spending money this week" Mokou said,
"Well, that could work, Leaf? Ya wanna go with us to the diner, we'd love to have ya,"
Leaf almost instantly nodded, seeming to be a bit excited
"Mmhmm! I'd love to, thanks so much!" Leaf said,
"Thank you very much for taking me," Bright whispered
"Anytime, I hope you have a fun time with us~" Kuro said,
Kuro stepped into the elevator, followed by Mokou, Haru, and Mori. The group waited a bit, the elevator now began its speedy descent down the elevator shaft, the force of the speed going unnoticed by the riders. After a few seconds, the doors once again swung open after another chime sounded, and the group stepped out. The lobby at this hour was empty, the receptionist having gone home, the lights were on, yet not a soul occupied the empty space. Outside of the glass doors, Mokou could see the moonlight that shone down, it was like a second sun almost, except its light was always surrounded with a veil of darkness that seemed too strong for the reflected ivory colored light to drive away. Mokou was the first to reach the door, he pushed it open, the cool air of the night swirling at him as he stepped out, followed by the others. Mokou turned his head upwards, his flame colored eyes scanning the night sky, stars dotted the black canvas of the night, shining down unto him, adding to the already bright night with their streams of light that blended into the moon's glow. Kuro now took the lead the group walked along the concrete path of the courtyard, around them, soft gusts of wind brushed by them as they walked. They now neared the gates of the school, the metal gates that had first greeted Mokou at his first time here, no longer carried the intimidating feeling that they had when the braixen had first set his eyes upon the black pointed gates. The gates were open, and a sign was hammered into the ground right beside them, as they passed, Mokou inspected the sign
"All students are to be back on campus before midnight," it read.
Now that they had exited the gates, they saw a winding path ahead, not too long, but still a bit away, beyond the dirt path they saw streets, and the lights of the city below. The only way they were able to see the path so clearly at this time was the oddly strong light of the moon. The dirt path wound down the hill on which the school rested, sloping just as the hill did, they now began to talk amongst themselves as they walked.
"So Kuro," Mokou began, keeping in step with Haru,
"Yes?" Kuro asked, striding along the path
"How long are we going to be at the Diner? The sign there said we had to be back by midnight, and that being said, how long does it take to get there? I don't want to be late it is all," Mokou said,
"It only takes maybe fifteen minutes to reach the diner itself, after that we could stay for a few hours, then we just walk back, we'll still have like forty-five minutes to spare~" He replied
Conversation fell relatively silent after that, only a few occasional words were spoken, as they walked, the lights of the city began to grow, the little lights which seemed so far off now were revealed to be bright neon lights; bustling businesses were teeming with customers. Pokémon of all species and ages were moving through the bustling business center.
"Wow… I've never seen so many Pokémon in one place at once," Mokou said, his eyes opened wide
"Yep, there's a lot of people down here, so we don't very often come by, but this diner here is to die for," He said, grinning at the amount of wonder seeing such a simple sight, that would be viewed as everyday humdrum to a city dweller.
"Jeez…. Must be easy to get lost, huh?" Bright asked
"Mmhmm, that's why we have to stick together, got it?" Kuro said
The group nodded
"Then let's go! It's just around the corner," Kuro said
Kuro once again took the lead, leading the others along a concrete sidewalk. They stood right next to a four way intersection, luckily, the traffic flow was light, only a few cars passed by every now and then. Kuro lead them down the sidewalk to the right, crossing the intersection, there, literally just around the corner, was a small shopping plaza. There were four businesses in one row, the first, a furniture store, the second, was the diner they had gone off to find. The neon sign above the door of the store just plain out read "Diner", yet the building looked rather new. Through the glass doors, Mokou could see into the store, the floors were black and white tiling, a retro styled bar stood in the middle of the store, and pressed against the wall opposite to the bar were booths of seats, four in all. It had an old feelings too it, perhaps this was a sort of retro dinner?
Kuro and Mori looked all too happy to be back to this place, while only a few cars were parked in the parking lot, the business seemed to be doing well enough to maintain itself. Kuro took a few steps forward, pushing the swinging glass door open with a paw, a chime of a bell was heard. The group filed in after Kuro, Leaf and Bright walking in last. In the store, a Mightyena stood at the bar, he wore a white t-shirt, black dress paints which had a red apron tied around them, and seemed to be only a few years older than Mokou was. His hair was long, Mokou could tell, the thick black locks were tied back into a ponytail, which swayed as the Mightyena worked a cloth along the table, clearing away any residue that may have been left by the customers before them. At the bell's chime, the Mightyena looked up from the counter, and instantly, a beaming smile came across his face as he spotted Kuro, followed by Mori, then Mokou, Haru, Leaf, and Bright.
"Hey! Kuro! It's been a while! And you brought friends!" The Mightyena shouted, a young, baritone voice coming from him
"Hey! Long time no see, huh Jack? And yeah, I brought some friends I met this year, here we have
Mokou Fujiwara, the Braixen there
Haru Koji, the shinx
Leaf, you know him already,
And finally, we have a new student who just came in yesterday, his name is Bright, he's the Linoone." He said, pointing his paw at each Pokémon as he said their names
The Mightyena looked the group over, the grin of his never fading, while the smile showed his fangs, there was a warm sincerity behind it that Mokou just couldn't deny, as if he meant absolutely no harm, which was correct in this case. The smile really did overpower the usual rep of the dark types, especially Mightyena who are known to be fierce.
"It's nice to meet you all! I hope I see more of you as well, I could always use the business. Now you go on and get settled into a booth, and I'll be right there to get your orders," Jack said, waving a paw over to the booths.
Kuro slid into the nearest, booth, the booths cushions were colored blue, the plastic table which stood in the middle of the booth, supported by a black bar, was colored red. Kuro first slid into the booth, the soft cushions squishing beneath his weight, afterwards came Mori, then Haru, the booth seats seemed to be able to fit three in each seat. On the other seat, Leaf slid in first, helping Bright to slide in after him, and finally, Mokou settled himself in the seat parallel to Haru.
Mokou looked around him, all around him, he saw friends, who now began to look over the menus and Kuro had begun to shout out suggestions. Mokou never felt this, never felt the warmth of going out with a group of friends, the feeling that spread through him was new, but welcome. He felt comfortable, safe here in this diner with his friends. Haru seemed to notice that Mokou was once again dazing out, and moved a cobalt paw to rest on top of his, a giggle coming from the little feline.
"You spaced out again, silly~" Haru teased
Feeling the warmth of the shinx's paw, as well as the all too adorable voice he took on when teasing the braixen, Mokou snapped from his daze, a feeling of embarrassment flushing over his cheeks as he looked into the golden eyes of his shinx. Those eyes glittered with an amused sparkle, Mokou sighed to himself and brought his free paw to scratch behind his head.
"Sorry about that, I just, well, never really went out with friends before," Mokou said
"You never went out with friends before? How come?" Haru asked, confused as to how such a wonderful Pokémon wouldn't have at least a small group of friends,
"I just ya know, never really had many friends I guess…" Mokou said, recalling his lonely childhood wasn't something he particularly enjoyed
"I don't see how people wouldn't have wanted to be your friend, I know if I lived near you before, I would've went to your house every day and played with you," Haru said, a small chuckle coming from him as he intentionally made the remark just a little suggestive
"Oh would you now? I think that would be nice~" Mokou said, a giggle of his own coming from his maw
"Oh c'mon guys, can't you save all this mush for the dance tomorrow?" Leaf interjected, gaining a giggle from Kuro and Mori who had looked upon the entire scene.
"I guess, but I can't help it, I just love him too much~" Haru said.
Amongst all the talk, Mokou hadn't even gotten a chance to look at the laminated menu which lay closed in front of him. Reaching his paws forwards, he opened the folded menu, adorning the sides of the paper were various dishes, breakfast foods, lunches, dinners, and deserts all lay printed along the paper. After a few seconds of looking the food choices over, Jack had walked to the table, a clipboard in hand he smiled at the teens who looked back at him,
"Alright guys, what'll it be?" He asked
Kuro spoke up first, "I'll have chicken strips and fries, and for drink, I'd like a Coca-Cola,"
Mori said his order next, "I'd like the chicken salad, and for a drink, Sprite,"
Next came Haru, "I'd just like a cheese burger please, nothing on it, an order of fries, and a Dr. Pepper,"
Leaf spoke up next, "A chicken sandwich please, an order of fries and a coke,"
Bright said his order next, "Three slices of cheese pizza please, and a coke to drink,"
Mokou was the last to speak his order. "A bacon cheese burger please, nothing on it, and a coke to drink,"
Jack nodded, scribbling down the orders on the little clipboard clutched in his paws, he gave a smile and walked back behind the bar, begging to prepare the food for the teens.
Now seemed to be a good time to ask a few questions to try and get to know the new student here. While the smells of cooking oil and food wafted from the kitchen behind them, the group began to talk.
"So, Bright, your parents send you here for any particular reason?" Kuro asked,
Bright nodded, seeming to avoid the Umbreon's gaze at this point,
"Yeah, they sent me here because they said I was too dependent on them, so they sent me here to teach my independence. I was really scared at first, I got to the dorm before Leaf came back from classes, and I was laying on the couch, and suddenly, he walked in, and I jumped up and scared him, so at first I was terrified but he explained that I just gave him a jumpscare and then we started talking. It turns out we have a bit in common, and we became friends. So I'm already enjoying my stay here." He said
"Aww, how sweet of the fluffy panda bear to be so hospitable~" Kuro said, a teasing remark half aimed at Leaf, who gave a soft grunt in response
"Mmhmm, he's really nice. So, any more questions?" Bright asked,
"Just a few, more about you this time, what're your hobbies?" Kuro asked
"Oh! Well, I usually read a lot, and I write sometimes, I don't play video games very much, but I do watch a lot of TV," Bright replied
"Interesting, Mokou likes to read a lot too, maybe one day you could show him your books?" Kuro asked
"I could, but they're all… Uh, Fantasy and geeky stuff like that," Bright said, hesitant to finish the sentence as the white cheeks of his face began to glow with a soft pink blush of embarrassment
"H-Hey don't worry! All I read is fantasy books, so you're not alone!" Mokou said
"Heh, thanks, maybe I could show you my books a bit later." Bright said
"So, do you draw or write?" Haru asked
Bright nodded
"I draw a little, they aren't that great, but I like to because it's a good way to pour your imagination out onto the paper in an image, although… I'd like to improve…" Bright said
"There's a huge art program here, so you'd fit right in!" Haru said, "You just have to speak with the principal about it, I'm sure you'd love it,"
"Thanks Haru, I'll have to look into that!" Bright said, it seemed that the shell of the shy Pokémon was begging to come off.
After a few more minutes of talking, Jack walked back to the table, platters of food in his paws, first he set down a bowl in front of Mori, amongst the green lettuce and vegetables of the salad were chicken cuts. He then set down a plate in front of Kuro, which held about six strips of breaded chicken, on the side were a large portion of French fries. Then came a plate that held a cheese burger, on the side was a large portion of fries. Jack then sat Leaf's plate down, which held a chicken sandwich, in the sandwich was a few pieces of lettuce, tomato, and finally the chicken patty which had a bit of ketchup on it. Again, there was the order of French fries. Finally, Jack set down Mokou and Bright's plates down, he walked away from the table for a brief moment, only to return a few moments later with the drinks that had been ordered. He set down the cups, which all had the design of the brand of soda which was ordered, the red design of Coca-Cola, the green and blue design of Sprite, and the dark red design of Dr. Pepper.
"Enjoy you guys! If you need anything else, just ask," Jack said as he walked back to the counter of the bar.
All of the Pokémon grinned down at the food and the teens began to dig in. Conversation was nonexistent as the Pokémon devoured their food. The only sounds to come from them was the sipping of soda or the crunching of lettuce. After a short time, the food that was ordered was long gone, the delicious food was well worth the walk to the Diner, and it showed at how fast the teens had eaten their meal. After a few minutes, Jack returned to the party, grinning from ear to ear as he saw the food already gone.
"Damn, was it that good?" Jack asked the teens
"Of course! You never disappoint!" Kuro responded,
Jack's grin only widened as he set the check down on the table, Kuro gripped it, and then set it down, waving a paw at the others who began to reach for their wallets.
"On me guys, I insist," Kuro said as he fished out two twenty dollar bills and a five, once seeing the bills, Jack grabbed them, and handed Kuro a receipt,
"Thanks again for the business! See you guys soon I hope!" Jack said as he stepped away from the booth.
Haru nodded and shuffled from his seat in the booth to stand up, followed by Mori and Kuro. Mokou moved from his seat as well, followed by Leaf and Bright. Once they all stood in a group again, they moved to the entrance, Kuro once again taking up the lead, he pushed the glass doors, and the group walked back into the city. They took the same path that they had taken to get to the Diner in the first place, rounding the corner and going along the sidewalk that eventually lead to the dirt path that they took to get into the city. By now, fatigue was pricking at all of them, the pace that they now took was a bit slower than before. Luckily, the dirt path was in sight. Turning left, the group began their climb up the dirt path. Each step brought the energy of the teens lower and lower, Mokou's eyes could barely keep themselves open as they continued their walk.
Mokou and Haru were once again walking together at the rear of the group, and suddenly, Mokou heard a "plop" sound. Looking to his side, he saw that Haru had literally passed out from exhaustion, laying on the ground, curled into a tight ball like a kitten, a purr of sleep coming from his throat.
"Oh my god, c'mon now… Haru you little kitten," Mokou said, shaking his head at the now sleeping shinx, he flicked the wand from his tail free, aiming the wand at Haru, a light pink aura surrounded him. A second later, he was lifted from the ground, and was set onto Mokou's shoulders, who luckily could support the light weighted shinx. Everyone but Mokou all at once broke out into an "Awwwwwwww!" as they looked to the sleeping shinx so comfortably nestled onto the braixen's shoulders.
"Shut it! Don't think I won't burn you all up in a heartbeat…" Mokou scoffed as he continued to walk with the others.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the group reached the academy. Mokou, after stepping past the open black iron gates of the school, drew his iPod up from his pocket, after clicking in the home button, the screen flashed the time back at him. "10:30 PM" It read. Mokou looked to the sky, the moon still shone its brilliant light down. All around, cherry blossom petals fell, swirling in the nights winds. The pink petals look brilliant in the low light of the moon, a soft glow almost radiating off of them. Walking along the concrete path of the courtyard, the group reached the lobby. Kuro pushed the door open, the glass framed door swung inwards, and the group filed into the school. Finally back to the school, Mokou began to feel the effects of the energy spent on the trip, a sigh coming from the braixen as he followed the group down the hallway to the elevator. The familiar silver doors swung open, the mechanical swish once again sounded as they filed into the elevator. Kuro pressed the fifth button up, and then began their ascension up the top floor. Once the elevator had stopped, the doors swung open, and Leaf and Bright walked out of the elevator.
"Thank so much for everything Kuro! See you tomorrow at the dance!" Leaf said
"Thank you very much, I hope to see you guys more!" Bright said as he fell into step with Leaf who walked down the hall to their dorm. Mokou grinned, he could hear his bed beckoning to him through the walls… Taking weary steps to the door, he twisted the door knob, pushing to door open, he didn't even bother saying a good night to Mori or Kuro, he simply wobbled into his room, Haru still set on his shoulders. Once within the comfort of his room, Mokou simply let his weight fall onto the bed, Haru flopping harmlessly onto his stomach beside him, he lay there, panting as he finally got a place to rest. Mokou looked to Haru, and instantly felt his cheeks flush. In the pale moonlight that filtered through the window, Haru's fur was almost shining with a brilliant blue, the peaceful expression of sleep that had taken its hold on Haru, it was just magical… His eyes closed ever so gently, a smile that curved his lips upwards ever so slightly, and the steady rising and falling of his chest with each relaxed breath he took.
Mokou let his eyes droop shut, that gorgeous image of Haru the last thing he saw before he finally let sleep take him in.
A dreamless sleep greeted Mokou, but he didn't mind if any, his mind was obviously too tired to conjure up any dreams for him that night, but it didn't matter. The day today, was going to be like a dream all in its own. Outside of the dorm, the sun had begun it's lazy ascent up past the cloud line, the sky which had once been a dark black was now a brilliant blue, and it seemed as though the world was slowly waking up to face the new day. Mokou himself was just now waking up, his eyes fluttering open, to happily see that the shinx he had fallen asleep next to was still there. He grinned, his flame colored eyes scanning over the shinx, who was still fast asleep beside him. He drew his paw up, pressing the white paw into Haru's shoulder, and giving a soft shake. As Haru's body rocked from side to side, his eyes slowly fluttered open, the golden irises of his looking into Mokou's eyes.
"Purr…~ Good morning Mokou~" He said, a smile still plastered onto his face
"Good morning Haru~" Mokou said.
With a soft push of his arms, Mokou rose himself into a sitting position, soon followed by Haru, who gave off a long yawn before sitting up beside him. A day without classes awaited them, but they'd be quite busy, today was the day of the dance after all! A night they'd both been waiting for, looking eagerly ahead to it since the commitment to go had been forged. Mokou looked to Haru, who gave giggled a bit at the loving gaze that had been cast to him. Mokou knew to expect a morning intrusion, as it seemed every morning Kuro would barge in for who knew what reason.
And in another few seconds, their assumption was proved to be… wrong? Mokou looked to the door, where both he and Haru were both expecting the eccentric umbreon to burst through at any second now. But were surprised to find no such thing… Mokou thought that was a little strange… being Kuro absolutely made it a point to intrude every morning. With a nod to Haru, Mokou swung his legs over his bed, and stood, taking a few seconds to stretch a bit, his arms moving over his head in a stretch. He felt the soft cracking of his bones as he loosened the tension, and let off a sigh as he swung his arms back to his sides. Haru close behind him, they took slow steps to the door of their room, which had been left open from the previous night's activity.
Wafting from the kitchen, Mokou could make out the scent of cooking eggs, and the all too good scent of frying bacon. A puzzled Mokou took a few steps into the living room, he looked straight ahead, and at the first sight of Mokou, Kuro and Mori both grinned and waved their hands.
"Look whose up! Morning love birds~" Kuro teased, the ever confident tone in his voice never failed him.
"What's going on? You guys usually barge into our room every morning…" Mokou asked looking to the two, who were dressed in their school uniforms as well as cooking aprons.
"Today, is a special day. It's the first dance you two will be going to as a couple~ so we decided to make you breakfast!" Kuro explained
Mokou grinned, he felt heart warmed by the notion, and really, it was important to him, so it really touched his heart that Kuro would go out of his way to do this.
"Aww… thanks guys…" Mokou said, giggling a bit
"No problem~ you just sit in your bed, we'll bring it to ya, why don't you two just spend the day in bed until the dance? There's no classes today, so you might as well just lounge around and be all romantic with yourselves while we get the clothes for the dance tonight~" Kuro said
Haru spoke up, "That sounds like a great idea, doesn't it Mokou?"
Mokou looked to Haru, his eyes were sparkling, his tail swaying ever so innocently behind him… How could he say no to such an adorable sight?
"Of course it does!" Mokou agreed
"Good~ now let's get back to bed~" Haru said, his paw moving to latch onto Mokou's as he gave a hard yank, dragging the braixen along the living room until they were back in their room. Once they had entered their room, Haru grinned to Mokou, who stood beside him in front of their bed. Haru reared his legs back, before springing onto the bed, a loud purr coming from him as he landed with ease in the plush sheets of the bed. The sweet scent of his mate was all over the sheets, which he savored a bit before Mokou had merely slipped into the blankets with him.
Mokou looked to Haru, who just kept giving that same happy grin back, a fang of his peeking out of his maw as he did so.
"So, what're we even going to do all day then? We have like eleven hours to kill you know..." Mokou commented
"Well, we have an extensive anime collection here, we could just spend all day watching it~"
"Even so, which series could we watch for eleven hours?"
"Fullmetal Alchemist?"
"Sounds good~"
Once the decision had been made, Mokou waved a paw over to the TV facing the beds, a familiar light pink aura surrounded it as he switched it on with a soft psychic push to the power button. Once on, he waved his paw to the DVD player, again the same pink aura surrounded the machine, and with another psychic push, it had switched on. He grinned to Haru, who nestled himself into the sheets, the warmth that radiated from Mokou, and from him all working to relax the shinx as he prepared for a day of doing nothing but enjoying one of his favorite shows with his favorite person in the world. Soft footsteps were heard, and Kuro and Mori soon walked into the room, each carrying a tray, laying on the tray was a plate of eggs and bacon, as well as a glass of orange juice. Mokou grinned as the two set it down on the night stand beside the pair, before they left, Kuro seemed to sport a mischievous grin, as if this day in bed, were some part in a scheme he'd formulated. But Mokou paid no attention to it, he simply snaked his arms around Haru, giving a soft clench as he pressed the shinx into his chest, their eyes glued to the TV screen as the opening of Fullmetal alchemist played through.
The day passed by rather fast to the two, they simply spent the day watching through about half of the Fullmetal alchemist series, getting near the end of the series, by the time they finished episode thirty, it was well into the night, and nearing the time they'd have to leave for the dance. As if on cue, the door of their dorm burst open, and a more than well rested Mokou and Haru looked to the now ajar door, to see Kuro and Mori standing in the doorway, each held a bag in their arms, one black, and the other white.
"Alright you two~ I hope you had a nice cozy day in bed, but now, it's time to pick the attire you'll be wearing to the dance!" Kuro said, gesturing to the bags that he and Mori held.
"Now, one of you pick a bag!"
Haru looked to the plastic bags, each seemed like a normal clothing store bag…
"I pick, the white one," Haru stated,
Kuro grinned, he had hoped that he would choose this bag, and now, the plan he set into motion this morning, was a success~ With a quick swipe of his paw, he brought the contents of the bag from its casing. And now, in his paw, Kuro held a dress, a white dress that had a slim top piece, but frilled out towards the waist, a frilling hem at the base. Haru just stared at the dress, not believing he'd just chosen to wear a dress to his first dance at the academy. With a soft movement of his paw, he sent the silky garment flying onto the bed, where a now red faced Haru stared down at it with disbelief.
"T-There's no way… I won't wear this!" Haru protested
"It's all I bought, the other bag, a white button down shirt and black dress pants, plus a scarlet tie, goes to Mokou~" Kuro retorted, chucking the bag to Mokou, who looked to the dress that Haru may or may not agree to wearing.
"Well, I mean, it would look… Adorable… on you Haru," Mokou stuttered out the words,
"I-I… I guess… You better now lift the dress up while we're down there or I swear Mokou I'll bite your hand off," Haru said, a sigh of defeat coming from the little shinx
"Good boy, now get dressed, we're leaving in a few minutes~!" Kuro said as he and Mori walked from the room.
Haru looked to Mokou, who simply shrugged at the event that had just transpired, he felt a tad bit guilty that he didn't object, but he didn't lie, he really though Haru would look adorable in that dress.
"I'll be right back, I'll go change in the bathroom, and you can just change in here, ok?" Haru said, moving to wriggle free from Mokou's grasp, and took a few steps to climb off the bed, walking to the bathroom, where the door shut with a soft click.
Now left alone, Mokou threw the blanket that covered him off, he pulled the polyester pants from the bag, and set them on the bed, followed by the cotton shirt. Mokou felt a warm feeling of excitement settling itself into his chest, he felt like this night, would be one to remember, and he truly hoped it would be. He slipped his paws to the pants of his uniform, slipping them down his legs, he kicked them off to the floor, and he then pulled the short sleeved shirt of his uniform off his torso. He reached a paw over to the cotton shirt laying on his bed, slipping an arm through the white garment, he then slipped his other arm into the other sleeve and slid the shirt up onto his torso. He reached a paw over to the pants now, bringing the waistline down to his feet where he pushed his legs into the black pair of pants, sliding them up his legs until he secured the zipper at his waist. He then turned his attention to the unbuttoned shirt, he fastened each button, starting at the bottom, and finally ending at the button right below the collar.
Feeling confident, he stood up from his bed, his tail swaying a bit as he made his way to the living room, where Kuro and Mori sat on the couch. Kuro wore a simple polo shirt with a pair of tan khakis, while Mori sported a white button up shirt, a black vest, and a pair of black dress pants. Once seeing the Braixen's arrival, they grinned.
"Look whose done changing~ I must say, you look dashing when you're dressed up like that," Kuro said, looking the braixen over
"Yeah yeah, you two don't look too bad either~" Mokou said, gaining a chuckle from Kuro
"Can't wait to see your 'princess' in his outfit~" Mori said
The trio soon got their answer, a soft creak of a door frame sounded from the bathroom, and out of the bathroom, strode Haru, the dress fit to his body fairly well, and as he entered the living room, he got gaps from the three of them. Even Kuro who had tricked him into wearing such an outfit. Haru filled the outfit out very well, an elegant look of him as he stood there, a puzzled look on his face as to what the three were so surprised by. The three also noticed a small silver tiara hitched into Haru's head fur.
"I, uh… Does it look alright?" Haru asked,
Mokou spoke up immediately, "Of course it does! You look amazing Haru," he said, which gained a red blush from the shinx.
"Let's go guys~ the dance awaits~" Kuro said, waving a paw over to the door,
"I'll meet you guys down there, when you get there!" Mokou said, flicking his wand out from his tail with a swift paw motion, he wrapped a paw around Haru's waist, and the pair disappeared in a flash of light leaving Kuro and Mori alone. In another flash of light, the two were teleported into the gymnasium where the dance would be held. Mokou grinned as his flame hued eyes scanned the gym, all around, the gym had been transformed into a dance floor. Near the rear of the gym sat a DJ station, manning the station, was a Noivern, dressed in a pair of ragged jeans and a blue t-shirt. Right now, there was a rather upbeat trance song that boasted a booming bass that seemed to rock the floor that they stood on. Mokou look to his right to Haru, who despite having to wear the rather embarrassing attire, seemed to be excited for the dance that they'd been preparing for.
"Well, do you want to dance? ~" Haru asked Mokou, a purr rising up from his chest.
"Of course I do~" Mokou replied, a smug grin playing at his lips
Well, "dancing" could be one thing to call what they did, really what most people call dancing would be a better way to put it, sort of just moving to the beat and trying not to look stupid. Usually, Mokou really would've just kind of stood around and not done much of anything except try to talk to friends over the music. But with Haru, he didn't feel as reserved, sort of like the personal barriers he set on himself were broken down and he could do what he'd like, and show people the real him. After a bit of "dancing" Haru decided to sit down for a bit, so he took Mokou by the paw and lead him to a bench that had been set out for students to rest on. Mokou rested himself onto the grey plastic bench. Feeling the cool plastic against his fur, he looked to Haru, who grinned back at him. By now, Mokou noticed that Kuro and Mori hadn't even tried to meet up with them, he shrugged it off though, and he imagined they were trying to give them a bit of alone time in a night such as this.
The privacy was much appreciated, by both Mokou and Haru, who now just sitting on the bench felt a silence descend over the two, and Mokou looked to Haru, gazing down at the glistening white dress that he wore, it seemed almost natural for the shinx to be wearing such a garment.
"Y-You really look beautiful in that dress, you know that don't you?" Mokou said, his cheeks were begging to flush red again
Haru seemed almost embarrassed at the comment, but let off a giggle as he moved his paw to rest its soft yellow pads against Mokou's. With a few movements of his paw, his fingers intertwined with Mokou's, and now, paw in paw, each of them gave a soft clench to the other.
"You're too cute, you know that? And in this get up here, you look amazingly handsome," Haru said
Mokou was about to say his response, but was interrupted by an announcement from the DJ of the dance,
"Here comes the first slow song of the night~ More or less slow, it's a couples song~" he said, his voice booming over the speakers
A few seconds later a guitar could be heard, the tune seemed familiar to Mokou, but he just couldn't place his finger on it, that was until the vocals came in, and the lyrics came fresh into his mind. It was "Ribbon Shower"
Out of nowhere, we're enveloped in the summer shower Taking shelter in the school that we've known forever Growing louder this evening shower is all that I have to hide my breathing Soaking cold, I'm sure you saw through everything I had on Our eyes would meet no matter how hard I fought it off With the sweetest kiss, both of our two lips would come together so they'd meet
With their paws still intertwined, Haru took the lead, standing from the bench, followed by Mokou, he made his way back onto the dance floor. Mokou glanced down to Haru, the shorter shinx looking up to him, the dress he wore, the tiara, and those beautiful eyes of his, stared right back at him. With shaking arms, Mokou looped his arms around the shinx's waist, pulling him to press against his body, his head all but pressed into his chest as Haru rose his arms up to place them on the slender shoulders of Mokou, and the two began the slow turning of the slow dance.
All of those secret things, I want to see, I want to see, so show them to me I'll hear it again, whether one or it's ten, until the noise is all that will be left of me All my sadness, I'll forget inside the madness we've made Meaningless trauma would fall victim to love we make Common sense and things thoughtlessness would bring, I guess the line's too thin to see, won't you show me… Our sudden immortality
Mokou looked to Haru, a break in the lyrics now, soft guitars and an upbeat drum seemed to relay his own heart's pounding as the apprehension he thought had been banished resurfaced, the moment so close, and so personal, it was all a foreign feeling for him. This "love" he'd hear online friends ramble on about… Was this it? In his mind, there was no doubt, there was love, and he had it, with this shinx, he'd secured a piece of happiness that would never fade.
With a mutual understanding of the next move, Haru took the lead once again, his muzzle inching closer and closer to Mokou's his eyes were now going half lidded as he felt the distance between the two of them banished to nonexistence. Mokou felt his heart pounding through his chest, yet, he didn't hesitate to follow through, only a few mere inches separated his lips from Haru's and he intended to close the gap. A soft push of his muzzle forward, and their lips met, Mokou could feel just how soft they were, made to seem even softer in such a moment, the silky soft fur that coated them, he felt his heart beat slow, and the warmth that he'd felt all evening bloomed, filling his entire body.
The wind is tearing through, "you hear it too, you hear it too; how much I love you?" We've broken the lines between friendship and ties to fall in love, no going back to what we were
Mokou heard the line of lyrics describe his exact feelings to the situation, a smile would've tugged at his lips, had they not been pressed onto Haru's.
Mokou felt the warmth of Haru's lips fade, and after opening his eyes, he looked down at a dazzling Haru, the low light of the room reflected off his dress, his golden eyes shone with feelings clearly conveyed by the act they'd just committed.
"I love you…" Haru said, a tone of what could only be described as love behind those words.
"I love you too…" Mokou returned the saying, and this time, there was no doubt at all in Haru's mind.
