A/N: Some spoilers for 'if' I ever get my Next Gen AU off the ground. Some info on the new Ladybug here and Chaton being of background info here too.

Marinette necked the glass of wine with a smile. The evening was dying down, some people were dancing whilst others were sitting down, relaxing, eating food or just plain enjoying themselves.

She glanced over to the newlywed couple, her daughter, her own flesh and blood had married her Ladybug, a young man intended on making a life for himself and Emma despite his troubled family past.

The second both her and Adrien learned he was the new Ladybug, he had their approval to marry their daughter, granted the poor boy was left somewhat confused. That had only been nearly 4 years ago, how fast that time had gone.

Nolan Dupont, ''No.'' Marinette whispered to herself. Nolan Dupain Cheng she corrected in her head, held his girlfriend, ''No.'' She whispered again. His wife's hand in his own as he lifts it up to kiss it, Emma looking on smiling.

The pair had been so many challenges as Ladybug and Kitty Noir, faced their own monsters, helped lead a new generation of heroes and ultimately defeated an evil far more terrifying then Hawkmoth. However, unlike Gabriel, Nolan's birth monster, Lila did not deserve redemption.

A waiter pass by and offer Marinette a refill, she gladly accepted with a smile. Before she pressed the glass to her lips, she stopped, didn't she mean 'birth mother?' in regards to Lila.

However, she soon remembered how she physically and mentality tortured her own son, the son she abandoned to die on the steps of an orphanage one cold winter night.

How she used Marinette's own anger at her words to describe her own flesh and blood as 'useless', 'defective' and 'that thing that ruined my figure for a year!' to akumatise her into Miss Fortune. Used her to attack her own children, Nolan and the other heroes until the cries of baby Chaton helped to break the spell.

A small tear ran down her cheek as she remembers comforting Nolan as he broke down in tears upon learning of how she was akumatised, the poor boy blaming himself.

As Ladybug, she had faced her own challenges but looking back, she couldn't help but think some of them were easier then what that poor boy had been put through, especially towards the end.

No, 'birth monster' was indeed the correct way to describe that horrid woman she thought. ''Rot in hell Lila.'' She whispered.

''You say something bugaboo?'' Came the familiar voice of her husband Adrien Dupain-Cheng as he stood near her, holding a small sleeping boy to his chest as he sleep soundly.

Marinette smiled at the sight as she pulled the car out for him to sit down, which he did with a loud 'opf'. Adrien then yawned as Chaton groaned in his sleep, nuzzling into his father's chest even more.

''I was just thinking out loud.'' She said moving forward to move the hair out of Chaton's face. The boy like his brother Louis was the spitting image of his father. He looked so peaceful as he slept.

''He's all tuckered out.'' She said with a giggled as Adrien kissed his son's head.

''It has been a long day for him, well for all of us.'' Adrien said glancing over at the newlyweds. ''Emma mentioned she had only stopped dancing due to her feet killing her.''

''He looked so adorable when Emma picked him up for a cuddle and dance.'' Marinette began. ''Of course, I doubt it was comfortable, that dress does look a bit too tight on her.''

''At least my father isn't in handcuffs like at our wedding.'' Adrien added nodding towards the table Gabriel and Emile were sitting at alongside Tom and Sabine, chatting away about memories no doubt or in his fathers-in-law's case, debating when the first great grandchild would be born.

Adrien himself had a gut feeling it would be within the year they'd get the news, but then again, his 'gut feeling' had been wrong on many occasions before. The worse example being he thought once that Kagami Tsurugi was Ladybug. For some bizarre reason he had forgotten about the Riptose incident. Too many knocks on the head from villains his baby sister Nathalie Agreste joked once.

He quickly looked over the dance floor to see her dancing with her boyfriend whilst his half brother Felix danced with a very pretty work colleague of Marinette's.

''I never realized my stick in the mud baby brother Felix was so good at dancing.'' Adrien quipped with a chuckle as Marinette looked onto the dance alongside him.

He smiled as she noticed her eldest son Hugo dancing with a certain blonde haired someone who went by the name Christopher Couffaine. Those pair had been dating for nearly as long as Emma and Nolan, heck Chris even caught the bouquet with a scream of delight.

Marinette was quite amazed how well that boy danced in high heels. Apparently, he lost a bet and ended up agreeing to be a bridesmaid. He even shaved his chest and before the ceremony joked how pretty he felt.

Being best man didn't help Hugo as he kept staring at his boyfriend during the ceremony, trying his best to hold in the giggles.

''Different to our wedding, I doubt Nino would have agreed to that.'' She said to Adrien nodding towards Chris who continued to dance. ''Heck I could barely dance thanks to her and Hugo.'' Marinette said with a smile.

''You were pregnant m'lady.'' Adrien added with that Chat Noir grin of his, not long turned 40 and he still had it.

Of course, that grin always had an effect on Marinette, it always had a way of igniting a fire within her, and of course if Chaton stayed asleep till they got home, well perhaps she and her husband wouldn't be going to sleep anytime tonight.
