No one really knew who Dawn was before her trial. She was just another one of those homeless kids in Central. If asked what someone thought of her they would most likely respond with "Who's that?" No one ever thought that one of those kids would grow up to be so feared... Her quiet nature might have been what truly sealed that poor girls fate. As far as she could remember, Dawn has had a hard time expressing how she actually felt about a lot of situations. So when she showed little to no expression in court, they thought her as lacking morals. "That is no child! That is a demon!" one woman announced in court. However the only emotion she showed truly was why the case was so well known at the time. When asked if she at all regretted her actions, she simply smiled, and asked the court, "Why would I regret getting rid of bad barn animals?"

Mustang was one of the few who the few who testified that it would not be dangerous to have her back on the street. He had seen her that day. The hurt in Dawn's face; he could tell exactly what she was thinking as she held that sobbing child in her small arms: "How could anyone do this to a kid?" Though they were not unheard, they were close to it. They did, however, get Dawn off the death penalty. Dawn didn't care though... When she lost her faith in humanity - when she saw what humans are really capable of, she stopped caring.

"Sir?" Riza Hawkeye suddenly asked her commanding officer, "Why is it you gave over duties of Dawn to the Elrics?"

"Huh," Roy replied, "isn't it obvious, Lieutenant? Their one in the same, Fullmetal and that girl. They just don't know it yet..."

"..."

"I figure, they should learn a thing or two from the other," Roy smirked at his own plan.

He was actually originally fully ready to take on the responsibility himself. He would have been proud to help that poor girl in her time of need, and he still would be, but he knew very well he was not in the right place to watch over a child. Plus, their was Edward, they where so alike. Both fighting nearly impossible dreams, going around fate, trying to make their lives whole again. However, the biggest was how both think that they have to go it alone... Sure, in Ed's case he had Alphonse, but he still blames only himself for what happened to them both.

"Plus! This'll teach that punk for calling me 'Colonel Bastard' all the time! Hahahaha!"

Suddenly, the ground around them seemed to shake. It was off in the distance, definitely, but they would still feel it nonetheless. Seconds later, Kain Fuery rushes into the Flame Alchemist's office.

"Sir!" he shouts, "There's been a disturbance four blocks from here!"

"Is that what I felt?" Roy sighs, his hand resting in his hand, "What does that have to do with my division Fuery?"

"It's Edward Elric! He's being attacked again by the Isvalan Scar!"
