To swallow all your pain
And learn to love what burns

Chapter 7- Side Effects
Annie stumbled out of the boys' locker room; face contorted from confusion and head-splitting pain. Her surroundings a blur, and her heart beating several times it's normal speed.
Stumbling and breathing heavily she made her way to her dark, black Camaro, which surprisingly she could see in the night shade(A/N: Like what I did there...If you don't know what I'm talking about you will see in the Author's Note at the bottom) of darkness.
As she grasped the handle the name Dex slipped into her mind.
Of course this car was another bribe from her mom's boyfriend to get her to like him. But that's all he was...just a another one of her mom's short relationships. He's just another poor soul being used by her mother.
Annie rolled her eyes and felt her breath hitch when she looked up to see a dark figure in the distance. She closed her eyes tightly, hoping that it was just another side-effect of whatever the hell had happened in that locker room.
And thankfully when she opened her eyes the figure was gone.
Yet she still couldn't shake the feeling someone was watching her.
Nevertheless, she got into the car and drove off to find her semi...friend Scott. And she knew just where to look.
There weren't many woodland areas in Beacon Hills, and the main one an idiot could find. As she entered the woods there was an unsettling silence that made her skin crawl.
But that wasn't the worst of it. Because she couldn't eradicate the feeling that she had been there before. Her mind flickered back to the image of Scott accusing her of attacking him.
A slither of possibility made the hair on her neck stand.
"It couldn't have been me." She mentally reassured herself.
As she found herself deeper into the woods it seemed quieter. A scary skin rippling silence. Nevertheless, she kept going. She didn't know why she felt the need- the urge to save him.
They had just met two weeks ago, and he had given her every reason not to trust him. He was too persistent on finding out more about her.
Plus, she didn't even really consider him a friend. However, saving him had become a sixth sense since the moment she realized he was missing.
Caught up in all her perplexing thoughts it took her a few seconds to recover from her daze to remember not to be insensible to her surroundings.
And that's when she heard it—footsteps that were getting closer and closer by the second. Her werewolf senses were ablaze, and as she turned on her heels repeatedly she felt a presence she was certain wasn't human.
The footsteps were getting closer and faster and she could feel the heavy thump thump of her heartbeat intense loudly.
Whoever it was- whatever it was was getting closer and closer by the second.
She had to think quick but her clouded mind wasn't registering anything. Before she could assimilate a plan she felt herself being knocked to the ground by a pair of glowing eyes and an annoyingly familiar face.
"Lahey." She grunted knowingly letting her eyes return to normal.
"Annie?" He asked surprise spearing his face.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned her befuddled.
"How about you get off me before you start asking questions, 'kay?" She snarled irritation clear in her voice.
"Uh, yeah." He said awkwardly detaching himself from her; his cheeks taking on a slight red.
He offered her his hand, but she waved him off obviously miffed.
"You're looking for Scott, aren't you?" Isaac surmised clearance washing over his face.
"So there is a brain inside that curly-head of yours." She started in mock surprise, "Guess I owe Lydia ten bucks." She continued rolling her eyes.
"Judging by your recent 'attack' you are looking for him too." She clarified wittingly.
"Yeah, and I still can't find him." He admitted frustration briefly taking on his face.
"Well it's a good thing I do." She pointed out leaving Isaac gazing at her with a puzzled look.
"How do you- where is he?"
"The old Hale House, I think- no I'm sure, but- "She began."
"You have no idea where it is." Isaac interrupted knowingly a slight smirk tinting his face.
"What is that?" She questioned him motioning to his smug facial expression.
"Because I do." His smirk growing.
"So what you wanna...work together?" Annie scoffed. Isaac shrugged.
"Your kidding right?" She added. He raised his eyebrows at her.
"Oh my fucking gosh, you're not kidding." She said holding the bridge of her nose and shaking her head vigorously.
"...Okay." She finally decided on defeat. There was no way out of this.
