AN: YAY

Remember, this fic is updated on Wednesdays now and my other fic, Saving Sarah will be updated on Saturdays.

Recap:Stuff happened and Scorpius Malfoy and the two school gossips, Hannah and Tayla were introduced.

"We're here?" she breathed, suddenly feeling like there was no air in the compartment.

Realising that she was not going to get moving any time soon, Sirius grabbed her forearms and pulled her up so she was standing.

"Yes," he answered, "We're here and it's going to be fine, don't worry about it."

Sam started shaking, everything was becoming real now, she was nearly at Hogwarts and she wouldn't have Hermione or Ron to help her out or tell her what to do.

I'm not going to survive here, I must be crazy, how did I think I could do this?

Suddenly, hands were placed on her shoulders and a pair of grey eyes were boring into her blue ones.

"Sam," stated Sirius calmly, "Don't worry, I'm serious, it'll be fine."

She managed a weak laugh, "You're Sirius. Okay, I believe you."

Relief coloured his handsome features and he sighed, "Great, let's go then."

They both turned to exit the compartment but found that the doorway was blocked by Albus who was watching them with speculation in his emerald eyes.

"Got a problem, Potter?" Sirius asked.

Albus' stare lingered on them a moment longer before he shook his head and led the way off the train.

It was surprisingly cold outside, Sam shivered as she looked for Rose amongst the crowd of rowdy students.

"Cold?" enquired Sirius from beside her.

Resisting the urge to make a sarcastic remark, Sam merely nodded while wrapping her arms around her torso and hugging herself.

Sirius leaned over so he could whisper in her ear.

"I could keep you warm."

Sam's brain fizzled out. She wasn't sure how to respond him, was he flirting with her?

She hadn't had much experience with that sort of thing and was quite sure that Sirius was mocking her because; he wouldn't be actually flirting with her, right?

Don't be silly, he wouldn't like you like that and you don't like him like that anyways.

"No, thank you," she said somewhat frostily, not liking this joke he was playing on her, "I'm not quite that cold."

She looked away from him then, missing the hint of hurt in his expression and his mumbling of "You sure fooled me", Sam finally located Rose and called out to the redhead to get her attention.

Stupid Sirius, he won't trick me.

The carriage ride up to the castle didn't take as long as Sam had thought and that was a good thing. She, Rose, Sirius, Albus and Scorpius had squeezed into one together and the air was thick with tension.

She gave up on thinking of ways to defuse it as the thestral-drawn carriage came to a stop.

The five of them scrambled out and joined up with the rest of the students trying to get into the Entrance Hall.

Sam looked up and gasped, Hogwarts loomed above her, both scary and exciting, comforting and unfamiliar.

I can't believe I'm here!

The excitement won out over the fear she had of the new experiences.

Soon, she and the other students were filing into the Great Hall.

The vast room hummed with the constant chattering of people but, even above all of the talking, Sam's loud and excited voice could be heard.

"Holy Merlin's Underpants, Rose! Look at the ceiling! Rose, are you looking at the ceiling!? Omg, it's so pretty!"

"Sam," admonished Rose, "Keep your voice down, people are staring!"

The blonde was shamefaced as she sunk down into a seat at the Gryffindor table with Rose and Sirius sitting on either side of her.

Sam's embarrassment didn't stay with her long.

She'd spotted the Headmaster and waved enthusiastically at him from across the room.

Drydin Dwent noticed her, how could he not?

He returned the wave just as wildly, adding in a bright grin.

"Are you done being embarrassing yet?" Rose asked with the barest hint of a smile.

Sam beamed jovially, "Not at all."

Despite saying that, she did manage to, only just, contain her excitement…at least a bit.

Her lively attentiveness to every single detail waned a bit by the time the second half of the new first years was getting sorted.

Sam slumped over the table, resting her head on her folded hands and letting out loud sighs every second minute.

"You fit right in already, Samantha," Rose muttered, rolling her eyes behind her.

She ignored her; too busy trying to stop her stomach from speaking whale.

Finally!

The little three legged stool was put away and the Headmaster stood to give his welcoming speech.

Sam honestly didn't hear a word of it; the word 'food' was being chanted in her head and it drowned out everything else.

When those delicious dishes and platters of meat and vegetables appeared, Sam further embarrassed her dear friend, Rose, by shouting,

"Food! Glorious food!"

"Sam, come on, we need to go up to the common room now, get up."

"Nooooo," moaned the blonde, "Rose, I ate too much, I can't move…"

She had collapsed against the table again; this time however, her hands were holding her stomach.

Half of the students had already left and Sirius, Albus, Rose and Scorpius were waiting for Sam to get up.

"I'll carry you," warned Sirius.

"Pfft," Sam said derisively, "You're lying. You'll break your back…or your arms…or both."

From behind her, Albus groaned, "Oh, Sam, Sirius always does what he says he will."

"Wh-? Ahh!" yelped Sam as arms were suddenly wrapped around her middle and she was yanked up and backwards.

"Sirius!" Rose scolded, "Leave her alone."

Abruptly, Sam found herself sitting on the stone floor, looking up at the group surrounding her.

Finding the grey eyed boy, she glared at him and stuck out her tongue, "Meany face."

A hand was held out to her and it was, surprisingly, Scorpius that offered it.

"Thank you," she said to him, "It's nice to see some gentlemanly behaviour around here."

On her feet now, Sam studiously avoided gazing in Sirius' direction.

That was how she realised someone was staring at her.

A good couple of metres away stood a solitary boy, a Slytherin judging by his robes.

Sam felt a shiver slide down her back.

Blech, what a creeper.

Apparently Sam had said that thought aloud.

Her friends all turned to see where she was looking.

The creepy Slytherin turned bright pink and scuttled away.

"What was that?" Sam questioned.

"That was Michael Thewn," explained Scorpius, "He's in my dorm."

"Well," stated Sam, "He's weird."

"Wow," breathed the blonde as she stood in the doorway of the sixth year's girl's dorm.

The round room had six lush-looking four poster beds sticking out from its stone walls. At the end of each bed was someone's trunk, Sam spotted hers immediately but ignored it.

The dark wood floor of the room was worn and scuffed in places but buffed to perfection.

Already in their pyjamas and sitting on their respective beds, was Hannah Plyson and Tayla Ronds. Sam was interested to see that another two beds separated theirs from hers and Rose's.

"Aw, Sam," complained Rose, "Not this again."

Rose grabbed her friend and dragged her further into the room.

"You're not going to spend half an hour showing me everything in here like you did with the common room," she said firmly.

Sam sighed loudly, "But it's all so exciting!"

Rose rolled her eyes and flopped down onto her comfy bed.

Hannah and Tayla eyed them with mixed expressions of interest and annoyance.

Ooh, a window! Sam mentally exclaimed.

She drifted over to the one by her bed and pressed her hands and face against the cold glass.

"I could get used to a view like this," she exhaled, "Yep, I'm used to it. Guys, I want a castle."

"Nobody cares what you want," Hannah grumped from across the room, rolling her icy blue eyes.

Sam spun around slowly to address the black haired girl.

"Well, nobody cares what you say, so there," she said childishly.

"Sam," Rose groaned, "Please, stop being so witty, you're hurting me."

"Your face is hurting me," someone said as they entered the room.

Two of Rose's cousins strode in.

"Hey, Roxanne," greeted Tayla, "Hey, Lucy."

"Oh, great," grumbled Hannah, "More Weasleys."

Lucy or The Peacekeeper as Sam thought of her, smiled at everyone and headed over to her bed, which was next to Tayla's.

She rummaged around in her belongings for a minute before triumphantly pulling out her hairbrush.

Sitting contentedly and cross-legged at the end of her bed, she started running the brush through her loose red ringlets, ignoring the insults being slung around.

"You're just jealous," dark haired Roxanne stated to Hannah, angrily walking over to her own bed.

Hannah snorted, "Jealous? Of What? You Weasleys are rubbish."

All three Weasley's present turned to face the black haired girl.

"You did not just say that," Roxanne said darkly, "Any Weasley is better than you, Plyson, even Rose."

"Oh, thanks, Roxy, really," said Rose, sarcasm dripping, "Way to stick together."

Roxanne turned to her cousin, about to retort.

Lucy jumped up then, "No fighting you two or I'll tell Grandma."

Rose and Roxanne glowered at each other, both with their arms folded angrily across their chests.

"I'll tell Grandma," mimicked Hannah.

Sam threw a pillow at the girl.

And regretted it immediately…she was never going to get her pillow back.

If looks could kill, Sam would have been tossed off a cliff, stabbed repeatedly, soaked in a bath of lava and run over by the Knight Bus.

All of the girls, continued to snipe at each other right up until they all fell asleep an hour later.

"I still want a castle," Sam told her sleeping dorm mates, right before she nodded off as well.
