Hi everyone, back for the next chapter... not much to say really but, thanks to my reviewer, hopefully this chapter will answer a few of your question. As to the question about the possibility of future lemons, I'm not sure what to say really, maybe in later chapters it is a possibility. But I am currently not ruling out that idea. Anyway, thank you for your kind words and I hope you all enjoy this chapter.
Oh by the gods, That scream! Never has such a horrific sound ever plagued a demigod's ear such as that. That haunting cry which felt as though every living dark moment in Octavian's life had been brought in front of his eyes all at once. By the gods... such a thing should not exist.
But what came next was even worse.
He watched as chains began to slowly wrap around Sirena who began to cry. The three boys were still stunned to the ground by the force of the scream. "L-leave him alone!" Nico managed but not before they stared at Sirena who screamed and erupted into flames, blood began running down the boy as his howl of pain became even worse than that horrific scream.
But before exploding into dust.
His eyes locked with each of them one last time, pure terror sobered Octavian as he reached out and grasped firmly onto his loves hand. "No please. NO!" he scream out but at his single touch Sirena began crumbling away till his scream carried away and vanished on the wind.
Sirena... the love of his life.
Had vanished once again.
Rain began to pour down around them as a cold breeze ripped through the park.
All that was left of Sirena was Nico's jacket.
Octavian stared at the spot as slowly he crawled over to the jacket. "S-Sirena?" His hand gently moved down the leather.
Then anger began to burn through him.
He slowly stood as a bitter cold began gnawing through him. His heart heavy and agonising. "Octavian..."
Now it was Nico who slowly rose. Both boys turned toward Percy who was slowly backing away. "You." Nico growled. "This is your fault."
"What, how is it-" Percy began but was soon stopped as Octavian's hand wrapped around his neck and slammed him back against the wall.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! You beat Sirena down!" Octavian's wild roar. Wild skeleton hands burst out the wall and quickly wrapped around Percy's legs and am's, pulling him into place.
"Octavian you can let him go. He isn't going anywhere."
"I'm good." Octavian glared out from under dark eyes. "I'm finding this very therapeutic."
"B-bastard!" Percy growled then gasped slightly as the grip around his neck tightened.
"Percy, just admit it!" Nico growled, becoming increasingly impatient.
"What! What do you want me to admit!"
"That the only reason you picked on Sirena was because you loved him. You couldn't take it the fact that you were... the fact that you were..."
"The fact that you were gay." Octavian grinned at Percy's squirming discomfort.
"Then you attacked him and Octavian at the temple." Nico continued. "You beat Sirena till you knew his mind wouldn't recover." Tears had begun moving down the side of Percy's face as he stared absently. "All because you treated him like filth. Annabeth is better off without you." Nico finally finished.
"Annabeth was cheating on me!" Percy finally screamed and Octavian's grip went slightly slack.
"That better not be your bloody excuse..." he growled. "Because I lost the love of my life and had to watch him go to Nico..." Octavian glared over his shoulder then with a dark grin looked back at the son of Poseidon. "But either way, memory or not, he didn't want you. He hated you."
"Shut up." Percy growled.
"Even when you had destroyed his mind and he had nothing left, he still hated you. He-"
Octavian was soon stopped as he fell to the ground and clutched the side of his face. It felt as though his entire skull had been rattled. "What the hell!" He slowly fell silent as he looked up and saw Reyna stood over him with a clutched fist. "Where. Is. My. Brother." she growled.
"You punched me!"
"WHERE IS HE!?"Reyna grabbed him by the collar and with what seemed like, inhuman strength she slammed him up against the wall next to Percy. Her eyes were wild and full of a burning fire. Annabeth placed a hand on Reyna's shoulder but was soon shrugged off as the girl turned on Percy and Nico. "WHERE IS MY BROTHER?! TELL ME NOW BEFORE-" She drew her sword as her anger rose above simple words. She had heard every ounce of screaming from her house.
Annabeth had already been drawing the conclusion of what might have happened. Her grey calculative eyes looked into the three boys. The mixed expressions of pain and loss were branded in their eyes. She slowly stepped forward and looked at Percy for a few seconds. All the others turned towards them as Annabeth spoke silently. "Is it true?" Her face was completely impassive.
"N-No I didn't do it." he whimpered and avoided her gaze.
"Percy. I knew we had problems lately but..."
All seemed to look to her. The sky was growing darker as night drew in. The stars hidden behind a cold oncoming storm. Annabeth shuddered slightly as she pulled her arms around herself. her gaze became cold and hard. "But... I never thought you would lie to me." her eyes shot up from the ground as she glared at him.
"Annabeth I didn't-"
His voice fell quiet as she slapped her hand across his face.
The skeleton hands holding him up slowly let go as he rubbed his growing red cheek. " What happened to you Percy... What happened to make you like this?"
"He...he's gone." Whimpered Octavian finally. Reyna's eyes finally broke as her hand went slack and her sword clattered to the stony ground. Annabeth lowered her gaze as Percy fell to his knees. Only Annabeth and Reyna were left standing. Nico had sunk into one of the shadows and vanished. Annabeth would have to deal with him later. "You two. You tore the boy apart." Annabeth finally stated. "You both pushed him past what his body could take... and in the end, his mind tore his weak body apart." Her arm went around Reyna's as she slowly pulled the girl away.
Sirena was dead.
She gazed back at the two boys in the snow who were weeping as the rain pelted down. "What happens now." Reyna whispered as she sobbed.
"We make a plan." Annabeth said quietly as they walked back to their home.
-Break-
Nico sat there as his drenched black locks fell over his eyes. He didn't know who he expected to come find him; Annabeth? His sister? Reyna? He was surprised when he saw the faint shine of golden hair under an umbrella. The figure slowly walked forward till they put a warm blanket around Nico's soaking shoulder and an arm around him for comfort. "Come on." a quiet voice whispered as it helped Nico to his feet.
Nico sank into the warm water of a bath as he shed his clothes. He laid his head back letting the water fill his ears so the world was black away. His eyes closed as he let his mind sink into the underworld. He could sense the mass amount of spirits constantly filing through his father's realm. He had spent the last hours searching constantly for any sign of Sirena. He had tried summoning the spirits for any information and every time he did, all of them refused to appear or search.
He had searched from the endless fields to the gates of Elysium... he had even checked the fields of punishment just encase the gods had held Sirena's past against him.
There was only one place that Nico hadn't checked... but it couldn't be... they wouldn't send him back there... unless.
He sat up in the water and his eyes widened. "JASON!" he shouted as he pulled on some fresh jeans and a shirt as quickly as he could. Jason quickly ran into the bathroom and looked at Nico as the boy pulled on his jacket. "You have to call Reyna and Annabeth. Get them over as quickly as you can."
"But why?"
"Because Sirena is in danger." He couldn't meet Jason's gaze as he quickly pulled out his phone.
"Nico... Sirena is dead."
"And in more danger than anyone who could be alive." Nico glared at him. "I'm not mad."
"Nico, just explain what is going on." Jason watched him carefully as he seated the boy down on the couch. Nico's chest was rising and falling way too fast.
"The gods tricked Sirena." Nico whispered. "Sirena wished to be mortal. They made his body mortal... but he still has the soul of a monster. Which means, when he dies..."
"Oh gods." Jason's eyes widened and he pulled out his phone as it dawned on him.
-Break-
Reyna sat back in her chair and glared up at Nico as Annabeth scooted closer to her. "What do you want." She growled. Annabeth glanced at her then held her hand softly which seemed enough to sedate Reyna slightly...very slightly.
"Sirena is in trouble."
"My brother is dead." She growled as she glared over at Octavian and Percy who were stood in two opposite sides of the room; as far away from each other as possible.
"What danger could Sirena be in." Octavian kept his gaze to the floor so no one else could see his face.
"When you were at the temple. What did Octavian wish for?"
"He wished that he was mortal." Percy muttered quietly and avoided the glares which were pointed towards him. News had quickly spread among the group now of Percy's actions.
"They made his body mortal." Nico said.
Slowly the demigods looked at each other as they didn't understand. "So? It doesn't change the fact he's dead." Octavian looked around at them. "I'm just saying what we're all thinking."
"Sirena's body was mortal, his soul was still monster. Which means he didn't go to asphodel or Elysium or even the fields of punishment." A cold chill ran down each of their spines as like Jason and Nico before them, the truth emerged. "Do you understand now why we have to save him?"
"Even so... we can't... we couldn't..." Reyna looked at him. "I miss my brother more than anyone, even if we got a quest... that mean's we'd have to-"
"I'm in." Octavian and Percy growled at the same time.
"Do you realise what this means?" Annabeth glared at Percy.
"It means." Percy looked out the window. "we're going back to Tartarus."
I really have to stop with these cliff hangers ;) Anyway, I know it's a shorter chapter than usual but either way I hope you enjoy it. So, who will be going on the quest? What is going to happen to poor Sirena. Only one way to find out, join us in the next chapter. Review, let me know if you like it. See you next time!
