Hey guys! I am so so so so sorry for leaving this story for over a year! I know I haven't updated in a long time but I've been so stressed over the last few months with college work, applying for university and all sorts updating has been last on my agenda. I just don't know where the time has gone! I keep thinking and getting the urge to update, because I know I need to but I just have no inspiration, and time at the moment. God.

Time flies.

I'm not sure if people are even going to read this...

Chapter 7:

Rydel's POV-

"Um hi. Thanks for the hug, but I have a question… who the heck are you?" Laura asked, looking around confused. That was when I felt my heart break into a million pieces. She was my best friend in the whole world, and still is… and she doesn't remember me. Please, let this be some kind of joke… I mean we always played jokes/pranks on each other, so this has got to be a joke…. Right?

"You don't remember us?" I heard Riker ask, rather shocked.

"Nope… wait you're R5! I love you guys! Maia, isn't this amazing, they live across the road from us! We're such huge fans!" Laura said, looking around, now star struck. "I was going to go to your concert in France the other week but I was ill, but Maia said it was amazing to meet you guys, I just wish I could have been there." She then added then sighed.

"I don't mean as a band I mean…" Riker started before getting cut off.

"Laura, why don't you get your stuff all sorted out in the room, I'll have a word with these guys." Maia said, smiling slightly.

"Oh, okay. I'm so glad I finally got to meet you guys!" Laura then said smiling wide before walking into the house.

"Okay so our best friend doesn't remember us." I said, breaking the silence. "Don't you think that would have good to tell us when we saw each other a couple of weeks ago?" I then exclaimed to Maia.

"I didn't know that you guys were the friends her parents always went on about! They never really spoke about 'home' until they let Laura do this. Even if she did remember you guys when you were growing up, you still don't really know each other anymore. Plus she wouldn't remember much about you guys anyway! I just thought you were some neighbours or friends from school who remembered her. I had no idea you were 'the' friends." She then explained, sighing afterwards.

"What happened which caused her to lose her memory?" Ross then asked.

"She was involved in a car crash. There was a drunk driver involved and they crashed into the passenger side of the car, which was where Laura was sat. I was driving. I got away with a few scratches…"

Flash back to around a year ago-

"Maia, oh my god are you okay?! Where's Laura? How is she? What happened?" Mrs Marano said, running up to the brunette.

"I'm fine, Mrs Marano I just have a slight concussion, broken ankle and arm. Nothing too serious, I'll be back to my old tricks in no time." Maia told her and she let out a slight sigh of relief.

"What happened?" Mr Marano said as he walked up to Maia, panic over his face.

"We were on our way home, and we had the music up and we were singing along to it, like we always do- not that I weren't paying attention to the road because I was!" Maia started, reassuring the two parents. "Anyway, we stopped at some traffic lights as the light was on red and then it turned to green so I started again and the next part happened so fast..." Maia said, tearing up.

"It's okay sweetie, take your time." Mrs Marano reassured, feeling sorry for her. Maia took several deep breaths before carrying on with the story.

"So I set off once the light turned to green and there was this idiot that came speeding towards us, through the red light and crashed into us…. On the passenger side. The car rolled over onto the roof and I was knocked out for several minutes and when I came around there was this person there reassuring me that everything is going to be okay and there were emergency services on the way. I was told that the driver sped off again, like nothing even happened. By this time I could hear the sirens coming from the distance so the person went to find out which way they were coming from and that we were here… and that's when I turned to Laura…" Maia stopped again, bursting into tears.

"Where is she? How was she?" Mr Marano asked as Mrs Marano starting tear up.

"She was bad. She was unconscious, blood just pouring out of her. There was this other person trying to get her seatbelt off and it just wouldn't budge. But she was a mess… and now she's currently in surgery…" Maia continued, earning a gasp off Mrs Marano. "They couldn't tell exactly what damage was done to her but they could tell she has a pretty bad head injury… and a collapsed lung. Anything else they couldn't tell and that's why she's in surgery now." Maia finished, by which point Mrs Marano was crying her eyes out, being comforted by Mr Marano. "I'm so so so sorry, if I could switch places with her, you two know I would." Maia than added, before the doctor came.

"I take it your Miss Marano's parents and you've heard what has happened?" The doctor asked and they just nodded. "Well, the good news is that the operation went good. Now the bad news is that she had internal bleeding near her brain and she had swelling and we managed to cure those. She has a couple of broken ribs and a collapsed lung- that we managed to cure as well. Her left leg and arm was broken in several different places. Those should heal in several weeks. She is also currently in a medial induced coma, how long she will stay in a coma, well we can't predict how long exactly from this moment on. It's always different with different individuals. She isn't in critical danger as off now as she was when she was first here. Currently we don't know any side effects to her head injury as of yet. We have to wait for her to wake up if there are any effects. We'll keep you updated every step of the way, but she will get better, we have no doubt about that." The doctor said before walking away, leaving Mrs Marano crying more and Mr Marano doing the best to comfort her, also crying.

-End of flashback-

"…She woke up after 4 weeks of being in a coma; the only people she remembered were her parents. It took time for her to remember me and all her other friends, which is why she wanted to come back here, so she can find a way to restore all her old memories, this was recommended by her doctor actually and here we are. It is a miracle she's still alive because at one point, no-one thought she would make it." Maia told us and we were all tearing up, and I who was sobbing. I can't believe this happened to Laura, our sweet little Laura. She was like the sister I never had.

Why must bad things always happen to those who don't deserve it?

and that is why she doesn't remember.

since it has been a while, 3+ reviews for the next chapter, i'll update when I can!
