It was night and everyone was at the campsite. Rick had gone to talk with the Americans about the events that happened today.

The three siblings were sitting next to each other, looking blankly at the fire. Isabella and Evelyn were both wearing a blanket around their shoulders.

"What do you suppose killed him?" asked Evelyn, who was shaken up a little bit after the sudden and mysterious death of the warden.

"He probably went crazy maybe. He was kind of a weird guy." Isabella guessed as Rick made his way towards them.

"Did you ever see him eat?" said Jonathan, causing the two sisters to look at him. "Seriously, Jonathan?" said Isabella.

"Seems that our American friends had a little misfortune of their own today." said Rick as he sat down next to Isabella. "Three of their diggers were melted." he said, causing the others to gasp.

"Oh god." said Isabella as she looked back at the fire.

"What?" asked Evelyn, shocked that this happened all in one day.

"How?" asked Jonathan.

"Salt acid. Pressurized salt acid. Some kind of ancient booby trap." explained Rick.

"Yeah, they had all sorts of booby traps back then. That was probably one of the Pharaoh's favorites." said Isabella.

"Maybe this place really is cursed." said Jonathan. As if it was on cue, the fire was suddenly blown by the wind right after Jonathan had said that. Rick and Jonathan looked at each other while the girls freaked out. Well, Evelyn was the one who freaked out, Isabella just rolled her eyes at them and put her head in her hands.

"Oh, for goodness sakes, you two!" exclaimed Evelyn.

"You two don't believe in curses, huh?" asked Rick as he poked the fire with a stick.

" No, I don't. I believe if I can see it and I can touch then it's real. That's what I believe." said Evelyn.

" And I believe that these sorts of things don't exist but only in books and fairytales." said Isabella, who was getting freaked out by the minute because of the sudden talk about curses.

" I believe in being prepared." said Rick as he grabbed his shotgun and cocked it.

"Let's see what our friend the warden believed in." said Jonathan as he picked up the warden's bag and began to look through it.

Isabella shook her head at him as he continued to look through the bag.

Suddenly, he screamed in pain causing both Evelyn and Isabella to scream a little while Rick pointed his shotgun at the bag.

"What?!"

"My God, what is it?" asked a now frantic Evelyn. Jonathan looked through the bag once more, trying to find the thing that kind of bitten him and he pulled out a bottle.

"A broken bottle. Glenlivet, 12 years old!" exclaimed Jonathan, grinning like a mad man. Isabella rolled her eyes at him. 'Typical Jonathan.' she thought to herself.

"He may have been a stinky fellow, but he had good taste." Isabella reached over her sister and slapped Jonathan's arm. Jonathan held his arm in pain as he looked at Isabella. "What the hell was that for?!"

"That is for almost scaring the hell out of me and almost giving me a bloody heart attack!" exclaimed Isabella. Suddenly, there was a distant sound of horses that was coming from the American's campsite. Rick looked at the camp as he heard the noise and gave his shotgun to Isabella.

"Take this. Stay here." Rick told the others as he walked away.

"No! O'Connell, wait for me!" said Isabella as she got up and gave the shotgun to Evelyn, who followed after her leaving Jonathan by himself.

"Evy, Bella! Excuse me, but didn't the man just say stay here?" said Jonathan who followed his sisters.

Men who were wearing all black and were riding horses, came into the camp and began to shoot at the Americans who were beginning to shoot back.

Isabella ran into the camp and immediately recognized the men. They all wore the same clothes as the guy who attacked her on the boat. She looked around, looking for her sister and she picked up a large and kind of thick stick just in case someone came towards her. She was instantly regretting her decision of giving Evelyn the gun, but she needed more.

A man who was on a horse was running behind her and he jumped off his horse. Isabella turned around and screamed. She hit the man with the stick which caused him to fall unconscious. Suddenly, another man who was also on a horse, jumped down and tackled her to the ground. Isabella tried to kick him off of her but he was too stronger. She saw a big rock that near her and grabbed it. She hit the man on the side of the head with the rock and that made him unconscious and to fall off of her.

Isabella was heavily breathing, as she laid there. She saw the men in the black clothes leave the camp. She slowly sat up and looked around the camp. Jonathan was helping Evelyn up , after she suddenly fell while shooting one of the men.

Isabella turned her head and saw Rick walking towards her after he watched the men in black leave. He helped her up and stood her upright.

"Are you all right?" he asked her, causing her to look up at him. "Yeah, I'm fine." Isabella told him, not looking away. He tilted her head and whipped some dirt of her cheek. "You sure?" Rick asked her again.

"Yeah, thanks." said Isabella, still not looking away from him. The two of them stayed like that for a little while when Burns said something.

"That proves it. Old Seti's fortunes got to be under this sand." Isabella and Rick looked over at the Americans and Isabella saw that Burns was probably in the middle of shaving before the attack.

"For them to protect it like this, you know there's treasure down there." Henderson said, but Rick corrected him.

"No, these men are desert people. They only value water, not gold."

"Maybe it's something else they're trying to protect." Isabella said, which made everyone to look at her.

"Just a theory."

Burns walked over to the couple and stood next to them. "You know, maybe just at night, we could combine forces." he suggested to Rick, making Rick to look at him in disbelief.

After the whole event happened, everyone went back to their business while Isabella and the others were the only ones that were still awake.

Well, only Rick and Isabella stayed up while Jonathan and Evelyn had both fallen asleep due to the liquor that Jonathan was holding. Rick was teaching Isabella some combat moves, like punching and other stuff. And it was going pretty well, even though Isabella was drunk and kept giggling after every word she spoke.

She was a happy drunk. A very happy drunk.

"Okay, tough stuff, try a right hook." Rick told Isabella. "Ball up your fist and put it up like that." He instructed her and was moving her fist into the position he was telling her about. She was trying not to laugh, but she kept giggling which caused Rick to laugh as well.

"And then, mean it. Hit it right here." Rick said, holding up his hand and Isabella punched it.

"I mean it!" She fell, causing Rick to catch her and she was laughing very hard as Rick helped her sit down and he sat down next to her.

"Okay, it's time for another drink." Rick said as Isabella tried to contain her laughter. "Unlike my siblings, sir, I know how to hold my liquor and when to say no." she said, picking up the bottle from Jonathan's arm and took a drink from it.

"And unlike your siblings, miss, you I just don't get." said Rick. Isabella put the bottle down and tried not to laugh. "I know. You're probably wondering, what's a place like me doing in a girl like this." Isabella told him, before looking confused on what she just said.

"Wait, that's not right." she whispered to herself, before Rick said something.

"Yeah, something like that."

"Egypt is in both me and my little sister's blood. Our father was a very, very famous explorer." Isabella said, picking up the locket that was around her neck. She and Evelyn both got these lockets in memory of their parents after they passed, so they can have a piece of them at all times and they never took them off since.

Isabella opened the locket and showed it to Rick and kept talking. "And he loved Egypt so much that he married our mother, who was actually an Egyptian and quite the adventurer herself." Rick looked at the picture of her parents and looked at her. She was a kind and smart girl. She was also very pretty, but Rick thought she was a very strong girl. "I get your father and I get your mother." Rick said, after closing the locket and letting it fall. He pointed at the others. "I get them, but what are you doing here?"

Isabella glared at him before standing up, wobbly and tired not to fall over as she tried to be serious. " I know, I'm not an explorer or an adventurer or a treasure seeker or a gunfighter, O'Connell. You probably think that I'm only here for my siblings, but no! I'm here to prove myself and be proud of what I am."

"And what is that?" asked Rick.

"I...really don't know myself, but I am a girl who really wants to be an archeologist!" Isabella said, giggling as she sat back down. Rick smiled unsurely at her. She scooted closer to him. "Probably not the answer you were hoping for, O'Connell. But, I really don't know why I'm even here. I do know that I'm going to kiss you right now." Rick looked at her shocked, but she was probably not going to remember this in the morning.

"Call me Rick."

Isabella smiled at him and didn't look away once. "Okay...Rick" She leaned forward slowly and so did he. They were close enough to kiss, but Isabella instantly fell asleep and landed in his lap.

"Knew that was going to happen." Rick said to himself before he laid Isabella next to her siblings and kept watch for the night.
