Alright, so I know I've been gone for the longest time, but I'm back!

We lost internet here at home and things have been super busy, what with me getting sick, being in a play and school. It all just piled up . . .

But now I'm back for good! I can't say how sorry I am for not updating in the longest time.

Enjoy~

(Jeff)

"What in the world are you talking about, Harley?" (Y/n) asked, her jaw set and teeth clenched in anger.

"Oh, honey, did I really stutter? Here, let me dumb it down for you: I. Work. For. Your. Father." Harley said, taking a short pause after each word, widening her eyes, and speaking to (y/n), as if she were in kindergarten. She enunciated each word clearly and crisply, allowing (y/n) to take short, ragged breaths in between.

"So you can take us to him?" I asked, hoping to relieve some of the tension.

"Of course I can, but I have a price. An eye for an eye, you know?" Harley said with a devilish grin.

"Why the hell would we help you?" (Y/n) spat at her.

"Looks like you're going to have to find your father by yourself. Oh, I forgot to mention, since I'm his secretary, I decide his appointments," Harley said, getting close to (y/n)'s face, so close that their noses almost touched, "and I have every right to deny you an appointment." Harley smiled cruelly.

(Y/n) looked very taken aback by the situation, she stuttered trying to find the right word until I had to save her.

"Fine, where to?" I asked turning on the ignition.

"Actually, you guys miscalculated your location. He's in the uptown part, and it's kind of a long drive. You can stop by at a small motel here, it's getting late." Harley said polishing her already shiny nails.

"Fine." I muttered, driving off to find the nearest motel.

It took about five minutes to get to the motel and the entire time, both girls were deadly silent. I would turn on the radio and Harley would shut it off, complaining that I'm an "uncultured swine," and that I should listen to more Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. (Y/n)'s breathing was incredibly shallow and her jawline set. Though her (h/l) hair covered most of her face, she held tightly onto her arm, indicating anger, or frustration.

Or both.

"Take a left here," Harley said, not even looking at the road. Her eyes were trained on her iPhone, thumbs twiddling away, "you can park here, I'll go get the room, because, you know, unlike some people," she coughed, "I have a job." And with a hair flip, and a wink, she was out the door and headed towards the office.

"Do you ever want to just violently strangle someone?" (Y/n) asked, peering out the window, in the reflection, her (e/c) eyes were narrowed and her teeth were clenched shut.

"I've given up my murderous ways," I said taking her hand in mine and looking at Harley through the office window, "but the feeling remains." I said with a small grin.

I kissed (y/n)'s knuckled and she turned to look at me. A small smile had appeared on her face, and it was like looking at something beautiful. Like being free to run in an open field, like letting a butterfly land on me, its wings fluttering, softly brushing my skin. (Y/n) was like being free. (Y/n) felt so pure, so natural.

She made me feel human.

I ran my fingers along her jawline, drawing her in closer. Just one kiss and I could forget that I wasn't who I was three years ago. When I made the irreversible choice of changing myself into a monster. Just one look at a lovely rose and I could be just as human as her. Holding her was like holding something small, and fragile. Something beautiful and unique. But it was also like holding something strong, and empowering.

"Are you going to kiss me, or just keep me waiting forever?" She whispered against my lips, her breath warm, sending chills throughout my body, warming up what was already so inevitably cold.

I leaned into her and let my senses fail, focusing on her and only her. It seemed like only five seconds before we were broken up by the sound of Harley gagging.

"Spare me the slobber fest, get a room," she paused, "oh, wait I already got one for you. Room seventy-two, I'll be in room forty-one downstairs. Have, fun. But not too much, wouldn't want to wake the neighbors." Harley said licking her ruby-red lips and waltzing over to her room.

I walked out of the car and followed (y/n) to our room. Harley had left the key to it on the armrest between my seat and (y/n)'s.

"Ah, she got us a king mattress." (Y/n) muttered, eyeing the room and looking hesitantly up at me.

I'll admit, I felt some heat rush to my face, but we've slept together before, it shouldn't be an issue now.

"We've slept together before." I said, swallowing hard.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," (y/n) said walking towards the door.

"Where are you going?" I asked, almost wondering if she really didn't want to sleep in the same bed as me.

"I'm just going to go get our suitcases, relax. I'll be back in a second." She said with that sweet smile of hers.

I nodded and sat at the edge of the bed, it was going to be a long night.

(Your POV)

I walked out and shut the door behind me.

As I walked over to the car, I noticed a sudden change of weather. I shivered pulling my sweater closer to my chin and quickly made my way over to the car. As I unlocked it, I heard thunder booming from a distance.

I smirked, "well looks like Zeus is angry." I muttered to no one.

But, oh, someone heard it.

"Oh, yes my dear, he is very angry." I heard a voice from behind me.

I jumped and turned around, but much to my surprise, no one was there.

"I'm behind you darling."

Again, I turned around, this time, taking the knife out of my back pocket and aiming it at whoever was messing with my head.

"Oh, dear, no need to get so aggressive." A man–tall, maybe late thirties, slicked back, black hair and green eyes– said, holding his hands up in surrender, "there's no need to kill the messenger is there?" He asked with a smile.

He was in a tux, that was far too big for his thin frame. And because I knew that I was dealing with gods and goddesses, I knew exactly who I was dealing with.

"Hermes." I muttered, lowering my knife so that it was down close to my leg, but still ready to pierce anything.

"Oh! You guessed correctly, I just love the smart ones." He said, smiling and running his hand through his greased hair.

"What do you want?" I asked, losing my patience.

"Oh, that's awfully rude. I can and will deny telling you my message, which, mind you, is very important." Hermes said, crossing his arms over his chest and tilting his head up in defiance.

"How may I help you, Hermes?" I asked, slightly taken aback by his response earlier.

"I came to tell you that Zeus wants you to stop pursuing your father." Hermes said, to the point.

I stifled back laughter, "as if. I'm not going to have a 'god' tell me what to do. I'm the only one who gets to decide what I do and that's final." I said with a small, defiant smile.

"He said that if you don't comply, he'll kill everyone close to you. This includes," he said taking out a piece of paper that had a list of it and put on some reading glasses, "Jeff, the Creepy Pastas, Riley and Athena."

My breath caught in my throat. If Zeus did that, then I would be alone in the world. Just a lonely soul wandering around, with nothing to do, no one to talk to, nothing to look forward to. And I couldn't imagine a hell worse than that.

"Fine." I muttered hesitantly.

"Good, I'll deliver the message to Zeus immediately, thank you for your time and compliance." And just like that, Hermes was gone, rendering me, once again, alone.

Instead of going to go get the bags, I aimlessly wandered back to the room. When I opened the door, my eyes absentmindedly made their way to Jeff, who sat at the edge of the bed, idly biting his nails.

"Oh, you're back," he said once he say me, Jeff frowned, "where are the bags."

"In the. . . car. . ." I muttered, suddenly overwhelmed by the feeling of wanting to throw up.

My knees buckled as Jeff made his way over to me, and, without realizing it until it was too late, I had fallen into his arms.

"Hey, (y/n), talk to me, are you okay?" Jeff asked. There was subtle panic in his usually mellow, calm and soothing voice, but he was doing a good job at hiding the fact that he was terrified.

"I don't think so, I think I need to lay down, for a little." I said between little gasps of air.

Jeff nodded against my shoulder and carried me over to the bed, bridal style, and laid me down gently.

"Are you okay, what happened out there?" Jeff asked, his midnight-black eyes watching me steadily.

I then and there decided that it would be best not to tell him what happened. Jeff was sweet and caring, but he was also rash, and very stubborn.

"It's nothing, I just feel sick." I said forcing a smile onto my face, "look at that, it's raining," I said pointing out the window, "it's probably the sudden change of weather."

Jeff looked out the window and grunted. "(Y/n), you know you can tell me anything, right?" He asked, there was a hint of hurt in his voice and pain flashed briefly across his handsome features. I suddenly felt incredibly guilty, but stuck to the thought that he didn't need to know. Not yet, at least.

"Of course, I know." I said laying my hand gently on his cold, pale cheek and smiling, "I love you, Jeff." I said, not regretting those three words, briefly forgetting the fact that Jeff's life was threatened.

He smiled and laid a gentle and brief kiss on my nose, my jaw and then my lips, "I love you more."

And those words, just those words, are enough to make anyone forget the horrible things in life.
