Lettuce stared at me in utter shock, her arms laying limp at her sides as she dropped the shirt she was holding, "Ichigo?" Lettuce asked slowly, her mind finally working, "I thought he was just... joking, or something." She whispered, but thanks to my now very sensitive hearing I heard her.
I tilted my head, confused at the green mew in front of me. "What?" I asked with a curious tone and took a step towards her. "Who did you think was joking?"
Lettuce took a step back and shook her head, "Y-your father called me a l-little bit ago."
My eyes widened slightly and the breath in the back of my throat caught, "What?" I asked, "Did you tell Ryou? Please tell me you didn't!" I flew over to her and grabbed her, shaking her shoulders viciously. Lettuce shrunk back in fear some more and shook her head.
"I told him that he was just hallucinating and that it was probably the new Cyniclon that Ryou's been picking up on the radar. I didn't think it was actually you! I'm sorry!" I took my hands off of her shoulders and sighed deeply, a smile coming back on my face.
I took her hand in mine and looked her in the eyes, "Pai wants to talk to you." I said as I imagined the living room of the ship. The room around me went black and was soon replaced with the main living quarters. Kish was already sitting on one of the old couches, his legs up on the coffee table in front of him. "Hey, Kish!" I said pushing a semi shaking Lettuce towards Kisshu, "you know what to do. My job is done."
Kish looked up, a large grin on his face once again, "heh, Koneko-chan, that was quicker than expected." He walked up to Lettuce and I, his grin turning into an annoying smirk again. "So this is the Fish-Girl that Pai's in love with?" He shook his head, "I don't know why."
A loud smack was heard throughout the almost empty rooms, "don't you dare say that!" I yelled at the green haired Cyniclon. His gold amber eyes showed surprise and hurt as I continued, "Lettuce is an amazing, beautiful person! Don't you dare say anything on the contrary to that." I spun around, my braids whipping Kish as they went and grabbed Lettuce's arm. "C'mon Lettuce, I'm gonna take you to your room." With that I teleported out, still holding tightly to Lettuce's arm until we reached the colorful corridor where all the rooms were.
Slowly, I let go of Lettuce's arm and began walking, Lettuce following me like a puppy. "This'll be your room until Pai say's other wise." I said walking up to one of the light green doors a few rooms from mine. "Sorry about what Kisshu said." I looked over to see her blushing furiously, and raised an eyebrow, "what?" I asked.
"K-kisshu-san said that P-pai-san l-loves me..." she said slowly.
I chuckled at her and shook my head, "I wouldn't know." I answered, "I've only been here for.. three days is it now?" I said counting on my finger, "eh, maybe four. It's hard to tell up here." Lettuce laughed quietly and opened her door. Her expression was similar to how mine must have looked, wide eyes, open mouth and limbs hanging at her sides uselessly.
As I turned to leave, something came to my mind, "Oh, one more thing, Lettuce. Do you have your pendent on you?" When she nodded I held out my hand, "gotta give it to me. It's a spying devise and a tracker, so Ryou knows what your doing at all times." A look of shock washed across her face for a moment until she nodded and handed me her gold and green Mew pendent. "Thanks." I said pocketing it, "I'll see ya later."
I teleported to Pai's lab and put Lettuces pendent next to mine in a force field that I had learned minus's out their signal's. Then I teleported to Ihoryrah park where Tart and Pai were supposed to be.
The fight was in the middle, Mint and Zakuro blasting the Chimera Anima and Pai, and Pudding glomping Tart like always. The Cyniclons were obviously losing, and it looked like the fight had just started. I flew behind a large tree and started watching the fight. I laughed as Pudding kissed Taruto and his face turned bright red. Trying to push the yellow Mew away, his blush grew darker as Pudding grabbed his ear hard and tried to pull it down and him towards her.
Slowly I drifted towards the fight, waiting until someone noticed me. Taruto was the first, his eyes widened in surprise and he elbowed Pai who was now next to him. When Pai saw me he shook his head and whispered something to the red haired alien next to him.
Tart came up to me with a deep scowl on his face and his arms crossed over his chest, "Pai says that if you're gonna fight, hurry up an' do it." A twisted smile made it's way onto the young alien's face, "maybe you'll get beat up bad!" I rolled my eyes and growled at him, floating behind the two Mews who had just defeated the Chimera Anima, and chuckled like Kish.
"Well," I said, taking a lazy position in the air, with my arms behind my head and my legs crossed. "What do we have here?" I asked trying to act cocky like Kish or Tart would. I smirked as three heads spun in my direction and stared at me with wide eyes.
"Who are you?" Mint yelled up at me, pulling out her arrow as she did so.
I chuckled again, this time genuinely, and spun in a circle, my braids flying around me like a tornado, "no on you need to worry about." I said with a smile as I floated down to the ground, my pink shirt bellowing as I did. "I was just checking up on the boys. You know," I said winking at them, "to see how they're doing."
"Oi! Old hag!" Tart yelled from a few feet away, "stop talkin' 'bout us like that!" I turned my head slightly, gave the midget a fake smile, and waved at him sarcastically. He stuck his tongue out at me and crossed his arms over his chest before teleporting away. I laughed and turned back towards the three Mews, shaking my head.
"They don't fight very well, do they?" I asked them with a playful smile. "What do you think Pai?" I said yelling over my shoulder at the tall alien, I heard a grunt as he began to walk towards me.
He walked up right behind me and crossed his arms, "I believe you have no right to say anything about how we fight," he said, then as a second thought added sarcastically, "your majesty." The Mews eyes widened, and Pudding clapped.
"So you're a princess, na no da?!" She said happily.
I shrugged with a smirk and twirled in a quick circle, "maybe I am." I said and poked her nose. "Well, nice to finally meet the people who've been beating the boy's butts, but, now I've gotta run." With another wink I teleported away from the park and back to the main room in the ship.
Pai followed close behind me. I was sitting at the table with a granola bar in my mouth when he teleported in. He walked over to me with his arms crossed, "so, did you do it?" he asked sternly, his mono-toned voice making me want to flinch. I nodded and waved my hand in a dismissing matter, the purple haired teen sighed and sat down across from me. "I'm serious." He said, his brow crinkling slightly.
I swallowed what was in my mouth and nodded again, "yeah," I said, "she's in the light green room." He nodded curtly and I waited for him to get up. Instead he turned his head to stare at the space behind me. After a few minutes of strangely comfortable silence, I broke it with a smirk saying, "so, I'm a princess now?"
Pai groaned and massaged his temples, "you're almost as bad as Kisshu." He said with a loud sigh and shook his head, "but no, you're not a princess. You just act like one. All. The. Time. Especially today." I giggled slightly and nodded.
"I was trying to act sorta like Kish." I said with a crooked smile, "you know, be annoying and stupid and stuff."
Rolling his eyes, Pai stood. "I am going to go get Lettuce now." He said, his face stoic once again. But I stood up quicker and grabbed his arm, in a panic.
"I don't know if you really want to do that." I said quickly and walked in front of him. He raised his eyebrow as to ask 'why not?' but I beat him to it, " Kisshu, may have, kinda, told Lettuce that you were in love with her... and then she kinda, sorta, slightly freaked out..."
A slight pink stain covered the purple haired Cyniclons cheeks and ears for a moment before he cleared his throat, "so you are saying that you believe that Lettuce would prefer that you escort her to the lab and explain what happened to you."
I shrunk back, not exactly sure how to answer, "well yes, and no..." I said slowly, my cheeks growing a soft shade of pink, "I wouldn't know how to explain it, so you'd have to do that. Just, maybe I could be there with you guys and... stuff..." I finished lamely, a sheepish smile gracing my lips as I looked up slightly to the tall man in front of me.
He shook his head, an almost smile on his lips, "you were going to be there anyway." He said beginning to walk towards the colorful sleeping chambers. I followed, having to almost run to keep up the tall Cyniclon.
As we reached the door and Pai was about to put his hand on the opening pad to open it, I stopped him. He sighed and took a step back, waiting for me to open the locked green door. I didn't though, instead, I knocked on it, "Lettuce?" I said through the heavy steal door. When I heard a muffled reply, I opened the door and slipped inside, closing it before Pai had a chance to follow me.
I walked in to find her laying on her back on the dark green couch with a thick book in her hands. She looked up from the book for a moment to see that it was me, then went back to reading, "hey." She said causally, her eyes still moving back and forth between words. I chuckled and sat down on the couch next to her, moving her legs onto my lap so I didn't sit on them.
"Where'd you get the book?" I asked amused at my best friend. She shrugged and pointed to a giant book shelf on one of the walls. My mouth hung open wide as I stared at the floor to ceiling, and wall to wall shelves, filled with hundreds, maybe thousands of book. "Wow..." I said slowly as I looked back at the green haired girl.
She nodded and finally put her book down, "um, why are you here?" she asked timidly, now that she was back in the real world and her nose was out of her book, she was a lot more shy and clumsy again.
I gave her a bright smile remembering why I actually was in her room in the first place, "Pai's just outside the door," as I said this, she squeaked and curled up into a small ball, her face turning a bright red, "and he and myself are going to explain to you what happened to me." With another timid nod, she sat up. I motioned her to follow me and we walked to the door.
With a loud knock, I yelled through the door, "'kay, let us out!" A second later the green steal door slid open and we were facing Pai. As we stepped out, I felt Lettuce scoot towards me and grip my arm, "lead the way." I said motioning for Pai to start walking toward his lab. Lettuce and I followed close behind him so we wouldn't get lost.
We made our way through a few corridors that still looked all the same to me, until finally the three of us stepped into a bright, white and silver room. It was the room I had first woken up in, not Pai's lab. I looked over at him questioningly, "this isn't your lab." I said loudly, so I caught his attention.
He nodded curtly, "yes," he answered not looking back at me. "This is the infirmary." Motioning me to sit down on the examination table he looked at Lettuce right in the eye, "truthfully it is all my fault that she is now completely a Cyniclon." As I sat on the white bed and Lettuce sat in the plastic seat next to it he continued, "all five of you Mew Mews actually have some Cyniclon DNA - somewhere in your family lines there is a Cyniclon somewhere. This is what made you all perceptible to Ryou's Mew project.
"What Ryou didn't know about the Mew project was that it enhanced your Cynicoln DNA, making each one of you a fourth - for Mew Mint and Mew Zakuro - to almost half Cyniclon - for you two and Mew Pudding - when in your Mew forms. Hence the strange hair colors and special abilities, though the animal DNA gave you the animal features as well." On a large screen in front of us, Pai showed us what my DNA looked like as a human, in Mew form and then what it looked like now. Both Lettuce and I gasped at the similarities in my Mew form and my current form.
Pai continued, "Kisshu had the original idea to kidnap Mew Ichigo in battle and bring her back here. After he told me his plans, I stared on some of my own." Pai took a deep breath as he continued, seeming to get to some of the more touchy parts. "Taking specific strands of DNA from Taruto, Kisshu and myself, I created a serum that could turn any of you, when in Mew form, into a Cyniclon. When Kisshu brought you to the infirmary to wait for you to wake up, I injected the serum into you. And, it worked..." Slowly he trailed off, maybe waiting for one of us to attack him, or to say something.
I looked over at Lettuce, a relieved smile on my face, and she gave me a nod, knowing exactly what I was thinking. "Well, I like my new self way better than my human self." I said jumping off the uncomfortable bed, "So, thanks." With that I gave the purple haired teen a half hug and walked out of the room. As I reached the door, I twisted my head around to face both Pai and a red faced Lettuce, "I'll leave you two alone now." I said, and fully walked out.
And then ran into Kisshu's bare chest. With a small squeak I pulled him out of sight from the door, my pale face and long ears burning with heat. "Shh..." I said, my finger going instinctively to his lips, "I wanna see what they do." I peered into the white room to see a red faced Lettuce staring up at Pai who was trying to look at anything but the green haired human in front of him.
I heard Kish snicker next to me, and blushed. "You're not going to leave now, are you?" I asked, just wishing he would.
Kish shook his head, "nope." he answered, popping the p at the end. "I'm staying right here. Now, shh..." he said doing the same thing I had just done to him moments before and staring back up intently at the two teens in the bright room.
"Uh... hi." Lettuce finally said, slightly waving her shaking hand.
Pai nodded to her, "hi." he answered back nervously.
"So, is it, uh, is it t-true that a-any Mew Mew c-could be ch-changed into a Cyniclon?" Lettuce asked nervously, walking over to the screen that still showed my DNA on it.
Pai nodded, a relived sigh escaping his lips, "yes. Though, Ichigo, Mew Pudding and you would be more perceptible. You have Cyniclon DNA closer to yo in your family lines." Lettuce nodded thoughtfully, her hand on her chin and her eyes scanning the screen still.
"I know who in my family is a Cyniclon, actually." Lettuce said out of the blue after a few moments of quiet, "my grandfather. He died when I was six, but I still remember some of him, we were almost best friends when I was young." A sad smile graced Lettuce's lips and I began to feel tears build up in my eyes. Kish slowly put his arm around me, and, unlike normally where I would punch him, I stayed quiet and sighed against the warmth of his arms.
"I am sorry." Pai said, his voice for once showing slight emotion. Lettuce shook her head, and a single tear rolled down her cheek. Instantly, Pai's hand was there, stopping it from going any further, a soft smile on his face. Startled, Lettuce looked up at the purple eyes man in front of her, and as she stared at him, both slowly began to lean into each other.
I had a hard time keeping my excitement in as I watched the two kiss, I turned to Kisshu who was staring at them with a happy smile on his face and kissed his cheek. "Thy did it!" I squealed, trying to keep my voice low so neither would hear. Kish turned his attention to me, his eyes wide and his mouth open, I gave him a light smack on the cheek, my smile never leaving my face.
"P-pai-san?" I heard asked from the other room, and quickly turned my attention back to the couple, "I-I know th-this might sound sort of w-weird, b-but can y-you maybe, give me, or make s-some of that serum y-you gave Ichigo-san?"
"What?" I heard Pai ask surprised.
"I've been thinking this since you explained it to us. Plus, Ichigo needs a girl to help her out around here." I smiled and tried to hold back a laugh at Lettuce as I saw her put her hands on her hip and jut it out slightly.
"U-uh, okay, I guess..." Pai answered his brows furrowing in confusion. I giggled loudly and both turned toward the door, where Kish and I quickly retreated from and teleported to the sleeping chambers laughing hysterically at being caught.
As I caught my breath I began to speak, "t-that was s-so awesome! Th-they got t-together, plus I'm g-getting another girl to h-hang out with!" Kish nodded at me, still breathing to hard to speak.
"Yeah," he finally said. One of his trade-mark smirks began to dance on his face and he walked up to me, "can I kiss you?" He asked sardonically.
I glared up at him, my cheeks and ears flaming and slapped him for the third time that day, "no!" I yelled loudly and marched to my room, a scowl pressed into my face.
A/N: Yay! Longest chapter so far! I'm so proud of myself. Anyway... yeah, review, favorite and follow. Thanks ya'll!
