Chapter 6: You're my person

Renesmee

Large, warm hands caressed my face. I slowly opened one eye to see Jacob looking at me with a small grin. "Hi." I mumbled almost incoherently, still being half asleep. I squealed as I stretched my body, opening my eyes completely to see that the sun had gone down and it was completely pitch black out, besides my home illuminating the area around it.

"Hey there," he replied softly. "we're here."

I laughed lightly and rolled my eyes with a 'mmhmm'.

Chuckling, he got out of the car and walked over to my side, opening the door and gesturing for me to get out.

"Yeah, yeah I'm coming." I groaned, pulling myself out of the car slowly.

I would admit to being reluctant to go home, I didn't want to find out what my family was so frantic about. I didn't want to see Nahuel just yet. I only wanted to enjoy my perfect little bubble of happiness I had with Jacob back at his reservation. I wanted the bad things in this life to stay away, and leave me and My Jacob out of it.

"Renesmee!" my mother cried from the porch. My fathers arm carefully wrapped around her, trying to calm her.

My father cracked me a weak, crooked smile. "Love, please don't frighten her." he whispered to my mother, his low voice always sounded so calm and loving.

"I'm here, it's okay momma." I assured as I climbed up the stairs with Jacob, hand in hand.

She pulled me into a stone cold grip, running her hand through my hair and telling me she would protect me. I was worried again, I was beginning to feel like I was going to go into hysteria but a calm washed over me.

"Uncle Jasper.." I mumbled as I pulled away from my mother and looked behind my parents to see him standing in the open door way with my pixie aunt right by his side.

My father ushered us inside, looking behind his shoulder as he closed the front door.

"Alright, is someone going to tell me what the hell is going on." Jacob growled, his knuckles white from being clenched.

I went to him, putting my hand on his arm. Showing him how much I cared for him, he relaxed immediately. Putting his arms around me protectively, he kissed my head and focused back on my family.

"Oh, disgusting." Rosalie sneered with a grimace on his flawless face. "She brought the mutt."

I felt anger bubble up inside of me, and I opened my mouth to yell at my blonde aunt but once again, a calm washed over me.

"Jasper, let her feel." Alice insisted, grabbing his hand and giving him a look of disappointment.

He took an unnessary breathe, "I'm sorry, darlin'. Everyone just needs to be calm right now, we can't go and be angry at one a 'nother." his southern accent drawled, and he looked around at everyone. "We need to be smart."

My grandfather nodded, looking around at his children. "Our Renesmee is happy." he stated, "Leave it be."

I smiled in his direction, and mouthed a 'thank you'.

"Jacob, it is good to see you." my mother finally said, putting a hand on his shoulder. I felt a pang of jealousy, I didn't want her to touch him.

My fathers eyes darted over to mine, his lips pursed in a tight line. He then looked at Jacob, and took a deep breath. He obviously read something he didn't want to know.

"You too, Bells. You-a- you look different." he commented with an awkward laugh, taking in my mothers appearance. Her hair was pulled back into a tight, sleek pony tail. She was wearing a tight, knee length designer pencil skirt with a frilly silk blouse. She looked the same to me.

My mother laughed, it sounded like wind chimes. "It's far from my t-shirt and jeans days, huh?"

Jacob chuckled, almost sounding like he felt uncomfortable. "Uh, yeah. You could say that."

I sighed, and stepped away from Jacob. Walking over to the couch and sitting with my burly uncle.

"Hey, kiddo." he whispered, ruffling my hair.

I rolled my eyes and straightened my hair out, "Hey, Em."

I looked at my father pleadingly, 'what is going on?' I thought to him.

"Renesmee," he begun. My entire family tensed, knowing what he was going to say. He was about to continue until another voice cut him off.

"Renny." A deep, accented voice rumbled from the stair case. My eyes widened, Nahuel stood there looking so different. His long braided hair was now short, his usual tribal attire was gone and replaced with a loose cotten shirt and khaki pants.

"Nahuel - " I began, but he cut me off and was in front of me in a flash. He looked at me and pulled me up off the couch, into an embrace.

"They are coming for you, they found everyone of our kind. They are experimenting with us. They want to know if we can reproduce, so that they can infiltrate the humans with beings that are 3/4th vampire but 1/4th human. They want to create a new world. They want you."

My eyes widened. "Why me?"

He pulled away and looked away sadly. "You are a Cullen, if he has you...he has your family." he said, 'he' meaning Aro. The leader of the Volturi was a sick, power hungry man.

I shook my head in disbelief. "They can't take me!" I exclaimed. I looked over at Jacob, he strode towards me, pulling me into his arms and away from Nahuel. Jacob and Nahuel eyed each other, trying to find each others intentions.

"She is yours, I understand that. There is no worries to have." Nahuel reassured, raising his hands in defense.

I looked to Jacob, "Jake." I mused softly. His eyes snapped down to meet mine.

"What do we do?" My mother questioned Nahuel, breaking the tension in the room.

His dark green eyes looked to her golden ones, "They will not come to us." He begun, insinuating Aro, Caius and Marcus will stay behind. "Only Felix and Demetri will come, along with Jane, Alec and a new member - Helena. She cannot be seen with the gift of vision. They will come whenever, and take Renesmee."

My father rubbed his face, a human trait he's grown accustom too. "If - she runs..what would happen?" My families heads snapped in my fathers direction.

Nahuel's eyes widened, "To run...from the Volturi?"

"Yes." My father choked out, his calm exterior was crumbling.

"They would find her." Nahuel concluded, a tremor running through his voice.

Emmett stood, "We would be waiting. A step behind. Renny is bait," he begun, looking over at me sheepishly. "They'll be so focused on seeing shes alone, that they won't realize we're chasing them, chasing her."

I looked to my other uncle, who's arms were crossed and he was staring at Emmett with a look of concentration. "That might work." he replied, his facial expression relaxed.

"We take out the guard, go to Volterra, and demand them to stop." My mother finished the plan, looking to Jasper for approval.

Nahuel shook his head, "No, we come back here after. We wait on our turf, we gather a dozen vampires with us and then we demand them to stop when they come looking for us."

"That way, I'll know - " Alice stopped talking, her body frozen with a vision. Her eyebrows came together in concentration, her hands signaling for paper and a pencil. Jasper quickly handed her what she wanted. Looking into the distance, she began to sketch. Her hand moved so quickly along the paper.

She breathed and began talking. "Manchester, somewhere...a clearing..no a forest. Along a one way road, it's dark. There's something there, already. I can't see. There's a fire, a purple fire. Someone is burning." She took a jagged breathe and came back from her vision. She looked around and then down at her paper.

A vivid image of a fire in the corner, trees surrounding it and in a shadow something similar to a wolf, but more like a wolf-like-ape - bigger than Jacob - with white eyes staring at something in the distance.

"That can't be..." Carlisle trailed off in astonishment.

My father stepped forward, taking the drawing from my aunt. "It's one of the children of the moon." My father concluded with disbelief. "Do you think they're using it?"

Jasper shook his head, "No, there is no way to control one. It would attack them, no matter what."

"What is it, daddy?" I questioned, beginning to feel scared.

My father looked to Jacob, then to me. "Children of the Moon change form only at night, and during a full moon. They lose their human consciousness, and they are our true natural enemies...because vampires and Children of the Moon share the same food source. They don't know what they're doing when they turn into werewolves."

"Would one attack Jacob, or myself?" I inquired, curiosity overcoming my fear.

Nahuel chimed in this time, "It is unknown, no one really has studied them..they've been driven to extinction because of the Volturi. Caius is greatly terrified of them."

I let out a shaky breath, "So, this thing...it'll show up when the guard find Jacob and I? Assuming if I ran, he was to come with me..."

Jasper nodded slowly, "I believe so."

"It will be there, I know that it will." my pixie aunt replied, her face full of concern.

Jacob sat down and rubbed his face, "This thing could get in the way!" he exclaimed.

Jasper shook his head, "The guard will attempt to exterminate it first, that will ultimately become they're fist priority. You could take that chance to run, and we could come and finish what was started."

"What if it isn't their first priority..." I mumbled, "what if they lead it to us and then leave and wait for it to do what it sounds like it does best?"

My father crossed his arms and stared at me blankly. "Renesmee, we must hope for the best."

A tear ran down my cheek and I swiped it away angrily. "I don't want to die!"

Nahuel shook his head, "They wouldn't let you die. I believe if that was to happen, they would take you in the process and leave Jacob...to-"

I stopped him with a growl. "Don't even say it."

Nahuel looked down at the ground, his face full of remorse and concern.

I stood up and looked at each member of my family before running up the stairs, tears falling from my eyes. I slammed my door shut and slid to the floor against it. Wrapping my arms around my knees, I rocked my body back and forth as I cried. I felt so pathetic. I felt so weak - I wouldn't be able to fight. I would die before I let out a single breath. I was insufficient to this family - nothing but a bother. All my life, my family has been constantly looking over their shoulders. Making sure no one was there to hurt me. Nahuel taught me to be as strong as I could be, but it was not enough. I couldn't fight off a vampire. I couldn't run from one either. I certainly could no kill a true werewolf.

I was as good as dead, it seemed like.

"That isn't true, love." my father chided from the other side of the door. "You may not be as strong as a vampire, or as fast as one. But we have never tested that. We don't know if you're venomous, or if your bones break. All we know is what Nahuel knows about himself. And, you may not be the same."

I sighed and wiped away my tears and stood up, opening my door to see my father with his arms crossed, leaning against its frame. Sniffling, I shuffled towards him and let him embrace me in his cold arms.

"We will be fine, my love." he said into my ear as he kissed the side of my head.

So, I hoped. I hoped we would be fine, even though deep down inside I almost knew - we would not be fine.

Well..Volturi and their need for power *evil grin*. Please continue to tell me if you're liking these updates! Much love..
