A/N. The bad language has returned slightly, you'll see when you get there.
Jareth lifted Sarah onto her feet, holding her steady while she brushed the dust of her clothes. A cough opposite them drew their attention and they turned to it in time to see Sherlock pulling Eve to her feet.
"Is everyone alright?" Jareth shouted to them over the rubble pile that had formed in the centre of the room.
"So far as I can tell, yes. Are you two alright?" Eve asked in reply. Sophia use the pile of rubble to get to her feet, standing beside Eve and looking over at Sarah and Jareth for a moment before helping Sherlock pull John up out of the rubble pile.
"We're fine" Sarah answered. With Jareth's help, Sarah clambered over the rubble pile and dropped down beside Sophia. Jareth slid down the pile as it collapsed, stopping by Sarah's feet.
"John, are you alright?" Sophia asked, running over to the ex-army doctor as he collapsed onto the pile of rubble.
"I'll be fine Soph, I just need to get my balance back" he answered. Jareth looked away from them as he heard a moan, finding that it came from Cassie, who was leaning against the wall. Jareth looked between his friends and Cassie.
"Can I say it?" he asked.
"Someone needs to, go ahead Jareth" Sarah told him, so Jareth turned back to Cassie.
"We told you so" he announced. The consulting detectives and their bloggers walked past Cassie and her parents and out of the underground corridor.
"What on earth are Molly and Mary going to think when they see the state of you two?" Sophia wondered as they made their way up the stone stairs. John looked at the dust covering his clothes, mixed with a lot of glitter; glancing at Sherlock to see he was the same.
"We may be in a bit of trouble" Sherlock muttered and Sophia nodded.
"That's if they ever stop panicking" Eve pointed to the women who were just climbing out of a taxi. Molly and Mary ran towards the group emerging from the warehouse, so the group disbanded to allow the two panicking women time with their husbands.
Sophia wandered towards Jareth, grabbing his arm before he walked towards the taxi.
"This was Cassie's, but I think it really should go back to you" she told him, pulling the crystal out of her pocket and dropping it in his hand. Jareth looked at the crystal in his hand and smirked.
"I didn't realise I'd cheated you out of two children" Sophia said quietly. Jareth looked to her with his smirk and Sophia frowned, twisting the crystal to show the day he'd taken the twins.
flashback
Jareth stood in front of the short girl blocking the doorway to the twins' room.
"They are not yours to protect, their sister has wished them away" he told her, trying to step around her but she moved into his path.
"I am a better sister to them than that drunkard is" Sophia told him as she blocked his path yet again. "And you won't make me vanish as you threatened, you know you shouldn't have answered her wish due to the fact she isn't in control of her senses but you did anyway, you know you shouldn't go near these children but Fae Lore dictates you can and so you've decided to, just for the hell of it"
Jareth stopped and examined the girl for a moment, he guessed from her height she was around eight, but her serious attitude made him think she was at least four years older.
"How old are you?" he asked, failing to sidestep her once again.
"Ten, and you are not getting to those twins" Sophia answered and Jareth chuckled.
"I am getting those twins and there's nothing you can do" Jareth told her as he stepped past. His goblins ran after him and vanished with the twins.
"At least let me run the labyrinth for them!" Sophia shouted. The Goblin King had just been about to disappear, but he paused and turned to Sophia as she shooed a few of the remaining goblins away from her bracelets they were trying to snatch.
"You are not related and you have no choice in this matter, why do you wish to run my deadly labyrinth?" he questioned.
"I could use the challenge, besides, if I do die I'm not exactly going to be missed" she answered, looking up at him with a sad smirk. "And to prove that I'm better than Cassie" she added. The Goblin King almost laughed at her as he showed her towards the labyrinth.
end flashback
"I forgot how stubborn I used to be" Sophia muttered as the image in the crystal faded. Jareth chuckled and handed her the crystal.
"You didn't actually cheat me out of anything when you ran for the twins, no-one knew I had taken them yet, word wasn't distributed by the short time you'd taken them back" he paused as he saw Sophia's raised eyebrow. "Besides, you had to be intelligent if you wanted to run the labyrinth as a challenge. I only allowed an intelligent young girl test her skills against my ingenious labyrinth, and she beat it in an impressive time too" Jareth finished and walked away, leaving a smiling Sophia behind him.
"Are you okay? You're doing something nice for someone other than me or Sherlock" Sarah asked as Jareth walked back over to her.
"I'm fine precious, why would you think otherwise?" he replied with a smirk and Sarah tried not to laugh.
"I was merely explaining to Sophia that when she ran for the twins she didn't cheat me out of anything, even though I'd given their irritating drunk sister her dreams, and I changed the crystal for her, it won't show her dreams but her earlier memories of her family, she deserves that much" Jareth continued.
"I knew you always had a good heart" she told him. Jareth just smiled and pulled her towards the waiting cab that would take them home.
Sophia watched the taxi drive off and turned to the open door of the warehouse which Cassie and her family were stumbling out of, only to be arrested by Lestrade the moment they crossed the threshold.
"They're the ones that did all of this, you should be arresting them!" Cassie shouted as she was pushed toward the police car, looking at Sherlock, John, Eve and the two NCIS agents. Cassie caught sight of Sophia and tried to run towards her, but Lestrade just pushed her into the police car.
"Give me back that crystal bitch! It's mine and this is all your fault!" Cassie screeched as Lestrade closed the door. The DI shook his head at the pitiful sight and turned to the group now assembling by the door of the warehouse holding the giant labyrinth. Sophia walked over to the group with the crystal in hand, standing between Eve and John as Lestrade made his way over.
"Are any of you going to explain what happened tonight?" he asked them.
"You'll have to read the blogs Greg, sorry" John answered and Lestrade groaned.
"I need something to put in my report guys" he complained as they started to walk towards the cabs driving toward them. Sophia dropped back and explained a short version of the evening to Lestrade, then joined John and Sherlock in their taxi and returned to Baker Street, leaving Lestrade staring at the giant labyrinth through the open doors of the warehouse. Eve and her coworkers got in the second cab, which sped off to Baker Street.
