A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for the very late update, but that's life. Please Read and Review. This one took a little longer to write because I was trying to figure out the wording for the letter. So have a safe read!

Captain Cragen wasn't one to be startled easily now days. He had seen it all, said it all, and done most of it. He arrived an hour before everyone just like normal and went to his desk. Sitting on top sat a letter, 'Strange…' He thought, 'Mail normally doesn't come in this early.' He set his jacket aside and sat behind the large oak desk. "Let's see what this is…" He mumbled as he opened the letter.

Hello Captain,

Inside this letter is your worst nightmare. And I plan on milking every last drop of pain out of it. You know what I'm talking about, IT has happened. And you're about to feel the wrath. I'm starting with you, and you won't be able to catch me. Not until I want you to. Until then we're playing my game. Ready for some fun? I am. When you understand fully you'll get another letter. Follow the instruction or watch your world fall apart again.

Cragen shook his head, putting the letter back into the envelope and put it in an evidence bag. He stood and looked out the window. It has happened. Played in his mind again and again.

*An hour later*

Elliot arrived right on time. Nothing new there, and that's how he wanted it to be. At work nothing could happen, much to his disliking. Olivia had gone to pick up coffee giving him enough time to look normal. Sitting at his desk, Elliot noticed a letter, setting his things down he then opened it. Shock filled his eyes as he read…

Hello Detective Stabler,

How's life? Well it's about to get worse. You have taken something from me. And I plan on taking it back. If you do not let me I will destroy all the things you love most. Do not test me Detective. I will not hesitate if you interfere. Ready. Set. Let's play.

A hand touched his shoulder and he jumped, looking up at Olivia. "Oh…it's just you." He sighed, cramming the letter back into its package.

Olivia tilted her head, "Here…." She set his coffee on his desk, "What's wrong it looks like you've seen a ghost." She sat across from him, getting out a file and setting it on her desk. "I feel like I have. I have to talk to Cap about something." He jumped up, taking the letter with him.

Olivia narrowed her eyes but shook her head. "Whatever…" She sighed, getting back to their cases. El glanced back, before knocking and walking into Cap's office. "Captain…we have a problem.

Captain Cragen looked back at his detective then down at the letter in his hand. He nodded in understanding and headed toward his seat. "Shut the door." Now the first letter was strange but two…oh no. Cragen's head shot to look at the paler than normal Elliot. "It had happened…" He mumbled taking the note and reading it after sliding on some gloves.

The younger man narrowed his eyes, "What has happened Cap?" Looking down he snatched the bagged letter to the captain and read it over and over again. Glancing up at his boss with a nervous twitch in his eyes Elliot knew what this person was talking about and so did the Captain. "Cap…I can explain…." Elliot stammered.

"I don't want to hear it." Cragen paused, his face blank except the look of understanding in his eyes. "I knew this would happen eventually…more certainly after your divorce." El waited knowing he wasn't finished. "How long?"

"Uh…just since last night," Elliot sighed mumbling the next part, "I didn't think it would take less than twenty-four hours to piss someone off about it."

Cragen shot up out of his chair and started to pace. "I'm sending these down to the lab for processing when more letters show up read them then bring them to me. We need to find this person A.S.A.P. And don't tell anyone about this. Not even Olivia…not until we see if she gets a letter." The younger detective nodded and started to leave. "Oh and Elliot you better not screw this up." Again El nodded, quickly making his way to his desk.

When her partner sat back down Olivia looked up still confused, "What was that about?" She watched El fidget slightly a small sign he was trying to come up with an answer. Her gaze narrowed, "Don't you dare lie to me." He sighed shaking his head, "Later." He mumbled licking his lips and glancing around. With that she shook her head, about to argue with Cragen called them. "Benson! Stabler! There's a vic down at Mercy, get a move on!"

Olivia nodded and put her case files away, grabbing her coat she marched down the hall. Her good mood was now soured. Elliot quickly followed, 'Great,' He thought, 'This will be a pleasant day.'

*At Mercy Hospital*

"I'm Detective Benson this is my partner Detective Stabler. Someone reported a rape." The woman at the front desk nodded, "Behind curtain 3. Good luck." Olivia turned not waiting for Elliot and walked over. Moving the curtain she spoke, "Hi, I'm Olivia. I'm a police officer," She paused showing her badge to the scared woman.

The woman looked about twenty-five, with dark hair and dark green eyes. She had a cut along her cheek and another along her arm. "Olivia? Olivia Benson?" The woman paused only continuing after Olivia nodded, "I have a message for you." Elliot stepped closer to his partner as the woman continued. "This is the first. By far not the worst. Learn the game or put more to shame." The woman broke down into tears, "He-he made me memorize it before he-he…" Her sobs broke her voice and she pulled her knees to her chest. Olivia glanced back at her partner, feeling a chill snake down her spine.

They continued questions after their survivor calmed down. During questioning they learned the perp had dark hair, dark eyes, was medium build and average height. Their survivor's name is Annabeth and is not a New York local. The doctor made them leave after they retrieved the rape kit insisting than Annabeth needed her rest.

*Back at the Department Building*

Olivia was pacing the lounge that over looked the floor. The sick rhyme was playing over and over in her head. She pulled up every perp she'd ever pissed off that she could think of who fit the description. They had no leads yet, the rape kit was in the lab, and to top it off there were no witnesses. She was shaking and sleep deprived. The last forty-eight hours came rushing back to her.

Her skin flushed and she shook her head. She needed sleep, she needed a lead and goddamn it she didn't need to be distracted by her very single partner. After last night she didn't know what to do, they hadn't talked about what happened and she didn't know if that was good or bad. But she guessed that would have to wait.

Elliot walked up with the report from the lab. "There's nothing here Liv. Liv?" He waved his hand in front of her face breaking her of her thoughts. "I know this case is troubling you but you need to sleep. Go catch an hour in the crib."

"No, El. I'm fine. We need to find this sick bastard before another girl gets hurt." She didn't glance at him as she walked down to the floor, only to be met by the captain who ordered them both home until the next day.

With a grumble of displeasure Olivia grabbed her coat and started for the elevators. "Liv! Olivia!" She heard Elliot calling behind her but stepped onto the elevator anyway.

Elliot had rushed after her, they needed to talk and not about work. Stepping on he knew she was not going to make this easy. "Come on. We'll grab some dinner and go back to my place. That way I know you'll eat since we both know you have no food at yours." He smiled and watched her roll her eyes but smile a tiny smile.

"Fine El. But I'm not paying. Your idea, you pay." She gave him a pointed look.

He nodded and walked with her to her car. "Fine, but I'm also picking the movie." She looked over at him from the corner of her eye, shaking her head. 'Damn him,' She thought, giving him a nod and going to her car, 'Does he always have to know what to say?'

"Detective Benson?" Someone yelled causing Olivia to turn her head.

"Ye-" Her answer was cut off by a rag covering her nose and mouth, and a sickeningly sweet smell invading her senses. In a matter of seconds everything had faded to black.
