Wanda had been spending more time with Ian almost everyday now and she was loving it. He had been taking her to and from school for the past week too. Before she headed to class she stopped at her locker for some books when she heard a group of girls talking on the other side of the locker door. Usually she doesn't pay attention to everyone else's gossip but she heard her name come up. "Anyone notice how Ian is spending so much time with that one girl?" A blonde girl with a ponytail started the conversation. "Oh you mean Melanie's sister, Wanda?" A brunette with braces was talking now. "Is that her name? I always thought it was Stacey" Another blonde with a headband spoke this time but the one in the ponytail interrupted. "Whatever her name is, she has been hanging around him a lot." "I know it's weird right." The girl in the braces said. "Didn't she try to kill herself by walking into traffic a couple of weeks ago?" Said the girl in the headband. "Poor thing, she must have some weird stalker attachment to him since he saved her life" the brunette spoke this time. "Maybe that is why he is always around her because he is keeping a watch on her to make sure she doesn't try to kill herself again." The second blonde chimed back in. Apparently the one with the ponytail must like interrupting her. "He must pity her, I know I would. That is the only logical reason why someone so hot would be around someone so…not." The blonde with the ponytail is definitely the head of the dimwitted group. "Aw, she is his charity case. Ian is so sweet" The brunette was starting to get on Wanda's nerves. She always wondered why Ian was being so nice to her all of a sudden after years of not saying one word to her. As much as she hated to admit it, those girls were probably right about the whole thing. Well, except for the killing herself part but he probably thought that was what she was trying to do in the first place though. She couldn't take hearing any more gossip about her. She slammed her locker door and ran past the three girls with tears in her eyes. It was then that they figured out she was standing behind them the whole time.

Wanda ran around the corner and straight into Ian's chest. "Whoa, Wanda?" He caught her by her arms before she could fall but she kept her eyes glued to the floor. "Hey, I was just looking for you. I wanted to ask you...some…thing…" He let her go when he heard her sniffling and tilted his head to see her face better. She looked up at him and she just lost it. "Whatever it is you want to ask, don't. I knew this would happen! This is exactly why I shouldn't have gotten involved with you. I knew better!" Her voice had gotten much louder and now everyone in the hallway had their attention focused on them. "Wanda, I have no idea what you're talking about." "Save it! I was perfectly fine staying out of the line of fire where nobody knew I existed and if you don't mind, that is where I would rather stay. I'm done being your charity case. So, please, just stay away from me. I don't need anymore of your pity." With that she stormed down the hallway leaving him just as confused as when she started. He tried talking to her in the rest of the classes they shared but she would just ignore him or the teacher would tell him to be quiet. When school let out she didn't even let Melanie drive her home, she ended up walking. He went to her house and continuously knocked on her door for a good 10 minutes knowing that she was in there before finally giving up. He didn't want to be there when Melanie got home from volleyball practice so she could spike him in the face a few hundred times.

The next day Ian sat with Sunny, Jared and Kyle at their usual table for lunch. He knew better than to expect to see Wanda anywhere in the cafeteria, getting the hint yesterday but Melanie was usually the first one at the table and obviously Jared noticed that too. "Where's Melanie?" "I don't know she is usually here by now. Oh, there she is." Sunny pointed across the room and everyone looked up to see her charging angrily in their direction. Kyle spoke this time, "She looks pissed" "Great what did you do now?" "Nothing Sunny, I swear. At least I think nothing."

"I warned you O'Shea" she said charging over to the table "What did I do?" "For once not you Kyle. I'm talking about your brother. What did you do to Wanda? She came home yesterday in tears. She wouldn't even talk to me. Then when I get to school today and asked around, someone tells me they heard her yelling at you. I told you that if you did anything to hurt her I would personally hurt you in return…and I'm not talking about with words…" She charged at him about to attack him when Jared got up immediately and grabbed her by the waist picking her up and setting her down on the opposite side of him away from Ian "Whoa, okay you're done." "Let me go Jared!" "Not until you calm down. You are blowing this way out of proportion." "No, really, I'm not" "Yes, really, you are." Ian boldly spoke up this time "I have no idea why Wanda is mad at me, Melanie" "See, even he doesn't know" "That doesn't mean that he didn't not do something to hurt her." "True but it doesn't mean he did either." "Why else would she come home crying after yelling at him?" "I don't know but that doesn't mean you should attack him for it because you don't know what happened for sure either" "Fine!" She looked over Jared's shoulder and straight at Ian pointing her finger angrily in his direction "-but whatever it is, you better fix it or Jared's not going to be able to hold me back next time, got it?" she stormed off knowing that he knew she meant business. He took a breath as Jared took his seat. "Thanks, Jared." "Don't thank me just yet. You still have to figure out why Wanda is mad at you and fix whatever it is. If I were you would do it soon because Melanie is right. I can't be every where at once."

He spent all day texting and looking for her but was losing hope. She wasn't going talk to him anytime soon if she was avoiding him. He leaned against a random locker deciding if he should give up all together and just suffer the wrath of Melanie that she has been eager to bring down on him all day. His attention picked up when someone mentioned his name from around the corner. As luck would have it, the same girls that Wanda overheard were grouped together arguing about something.

"This is your fault, Natalie, you're the one who called her his charity case." The girl who had the headband on looked at the brunette with the braces "Me? Anna, you couldn't even remember her name." The girl named Anna replied. "So what, she would have never heard us if Bianca hadn't brought it up in the first place." "Oh please, how hard was it for you to notice she was standing right there. She was right in front of your face." Bianca said. "We probably made her life worse than what it already is" Natalie was the last one to say something before Ian lost interest. He didn't need to hear anymore to know that what he heard those girls saying was probably why Wanda was angry with him to begin with. She must have thought that everything they said was the reason why he was around her all the time; always being so nice. Ian knew what he had to do. He needed to show her that she meant way more to him than she could ever image. Even if what he had to do could land him in detention.
