Christmas is in 4 days, so I figure that I should probably finish this story soon... XD I reallyy hope everyone is enjoying this story so far! Just in advance- In this world, irl celebrities aren't real. I use oc's and actual ninjago characters to replace irl celebs. For instance, Taylor Swift, Lauren Daigle, Celine Dion, Britt Nicole, and Hannah Kerr are Trisa in this universe. and so on forth... so in advance, a lot the songs that she sings are her original songs (except imagine them in like... a 6 year old's voice)

Josh and Trisa were sitting in their designated bedroom. Josh was laying on his bed and Trisa was on the floor writing something in a notebook. it was December 13th. There were only 12 days left until Christmas. The excitement was practically eating them alive. While they were very excited for Christmas, they still were very saddened about all the events that had occurred that month.

"Sis?" Josh looked towards his big sister.

"Yes?"

"I'm really sad... I miss mommy," Josh whispered with glistening tears in his eyes.

"I miss her too," Trisa paused for a moment, "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,"

Josh tilted his head, vaguely confused at his sister's statement.

"Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Brown paper packages tied up with strings. These are a few of my favorite things," Trisa sang softly, standing and extending her hand to her little brother. Josh reluctantly took her hand as she pulled him to his feet with immense enthusiasm.

"Cream coloured ponies and crisp apple strudels. Doorbells and sleighbells and schnitzel with noodles. Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings. These are a few of my favorite things," She dragged Josh down the hallway. Josh giggled, giddy at his older sister's goofy singing.

"Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes. Snowflakes that stay on your nose and eyelashes. Silver white winters that melt into springs. These are a few of my favorite things!" She took both his hands and spun with him in the living room, as though trying to preform a dance, "When the dog bites. When the bee stings. When I'm feeling sad... I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad!"

Josh was in an uncontrollable giggling fit, "brown paper packages tied up with strings. These are a few of my favorite things,"

"When the dog bites,"

"When the bee stings,"

"When I'm feeling sad,"

"I simply remember my favorite things," Josh smiled brightly as he looked up at his older sister, who evidently felt accomplished for the random musical number.

"and then I don't feel so bad! Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens," Trisa dragged Josh into the kitchen.

"Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens," Josh added with a giggle.

"Brown paper packages tied up with strings,"

"These are a few of my favorite things!" Josh and Trisa climbed onto the table acting as though it was a concert stage.

"When the dog bites,"

"When the bee stings,"

"When I'm feeling sad,"

The two now sang in unison, "I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad!"

Josh was in an unstoppable giggling fit, "I feel better now. Thank you, sissy,"

"You're welcome, squirt," Trisa climbed down from the table and helped her little brother get down.

Meanwhile

Jay was getting dressed for the day. He decided that he was going to stop moping around and take the kids out to continue Christmas traditions with or without Nya; he had noticed that his sadness had rubbed off on them and he didn't want them to think Christmas was cancelled just because Nya wasn't there. He had a list of things he would do with them until Christmas. Today he was taking them to go caroling in a nursing home. He hoped they weren't too young to realize the impact they were making.

"Jay?" Samantha peeked into the room.

"Hm?"

"You ready?" Samantha had volunteered to be their driver; she had some buisness in the area, anyway.

"Yes. Thanks again, Sam. You've been doing so much for me the past week and a half. I'm really grateful for you. More than you know," Jay hugged his little sister tightly.

"No problem, my dude," Samantha hugged him in return.

When they had separated from the affectionate hug, they began to gather their things then get the kids into the car. Nearly the entire car ride, Joshuah and Trishianna were singing the same song over and over. Jay found it adorable and annoying.

"When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad... I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad," Trisa whispered as Josh was still giddy.

Samantha gripped the wheel in vague annoyance. Jay snickered at his sister's action. Soon, they had arrived at their location.

Jay helped Josh and Trisa out of the car, "Do you two remember why we're here?"

"Mhm. We are singing happy songs to elders," Trisa said.

"That's right," Jay picked up Josh, noticing his nervousness, "you don't have to sing if you don't want to, buddy. Just say hello, at least,"

Josh nodded to his fathers suggestion. The trio walked inside and were greeted by Cole and his daughter Clairissa May.

"Hi, Claire. Hey, Cole," Jay greeted.

"Hello, Jay. I booked us the bingo room for caroling. We just have to wait about 5 minutes. Everyone who's feeling up to bingo will be there, so we're killing two birds with one stone," Cole explained.

"Thanks for this, Cole. I know it must be a little odd for you and Claire, being Jewish and all..."

"We're fine. It isn't a sin against our religion to sing Christmas songs. Christmas just isn't our holiday," Cole offered his signature smile, filled with warmth and joy.

"We celebrate Hanukkah," Claire quipped.

"That's neat, Claire Bear," Jay smiled down at the 8 year-old girl.

Eventually, the 5 minutes had passed and they walked into the assigned "bingo room". They were told to stand in front of the room and wait for everyone to come in. By the time all the elders had entered, the room was nearly full. There was whispering amongst the people.

Cole cleared his throat and began to speak, "Hi... My name is Cole Brookestone," he brushed his dark bangs out of his face, "some of you may know me as the Earth ninja. Or... the guy who broke celebrity Sakura Maysumae's heart. But today, I want you to forget all of that. I'm now just an ordinary person. One of you. Just a single dad coming to sing Christmas carols to the less fortunate,"

Jay could only watch as he saw his best friend step up and talk to everyone about the spirit of Christmas and how it didn't matter who you were as long as we are all thought of as equals. Cole had completely set aside his title to get down to the level of the elders. He had made himself one of them to make it very clear he wasn't there for the publicity or for the press; he was there to make other people happy. Jay watched Cole in an odd sense of admiration. Not only did Cole set aside his religion for the day to sing Christmas songs, but he overcame his stagefright and fear of public speaking. Jay smiled brightly as Cole finished up talking and allowed Jay to say something.

"My name is Jay Walker-Gordon. Like Cole, I am also a ninja; the master of lightning. But... like all of you, I'm a normal person. Cole, his daughter, my children, and I are here to sing to you all... if-if that's alright?" there was another murmur through the room before all eyes fell on them once more. The group took this as an invitation to sing. They began their hour of Christmas carols.
