I own nothing!

December 21st : Eleven days before the tournament

Krillin yawned. He slowly sat up in his bed, looking toward the clock on a small, bamboo table on the other side of the small room. "One in the morning?" he said. His bladder clenched. He took a deep breath. "I don't have to go," he said. "I am the master of my bladder. I can use my mind to-"

His bladder clenched again.

"Or I'll just go." Krillin hopped out of bed, rushing past Yamcha and Robin's rooms and bounding down the stairs. He stepped on the mat, using the candlelight to guide him, and rushed into a room to the left of the entrance. He slammed the door and relieved himself, sighing happily as he flushed. He pulled his pants up. "That was close." His stomach rumbled. "Not now!" he said, grumbling as he crossed the mat and put his hand on the door to enter the kitchen.

Shuffling from inside the room made Krillin hesitant. He closed his eyes, seeing seven identical chi signatures. "Cyborgs?" he thought to himself, opening the door.

Seven tall men in black jumpsuits and an orange mask. Their pupils were entirely white, and they all stared at the bald martial artist.

"Hi," Krillin said, fastening the belt on his blue robe. "How are you guys doing tonight?"

They said nothing.

"You're, uh, rummaging through our stuff, right?" Krillin said.

Silence.

"Thieves? Robbers? Burglars?" Krillin said. "Hobos with OCD's about matching outfits?"

"..."

"Come on," Krillin said. "You've gotta say something."

More silence.

"Since you guys are shy, I'll let you strike first," Krillin said. Pointing toward his cheek. "Go on. Hit me."

One of them took the bait, punching through an afterimage. Krillin appeared behind him, knocking his head off with one swift punch.

"Cyborgs." Krillin whipped around, knocking three to the ground with a roundhouse kick. The other three charged him at once, but that action proved futile as Krillin destroyed them. "Now you're shy, and boring."

He held out his palm, obliterating the three on the ground with energy blasts.

"Master Krillin!" Robin said, hurrying down the stairs in his pajamas followed by Yamcha. He ran into the kitchen. "What's going on?"

"These guys broke into the dojo," Krillin said, "so I broke them."

Robin examined one of the heads of the cyborgs. His eyes narrowed. "Slade."

"Who?" Krillin said.

Yamcha opened the doors to the dojo, seeing hundreds of the drones run up the path. "Guys," He closed the door. "We have a problem."

Raven took a deep breath. She balanced on thin, long pieces of wood tied to her feet, staring at the ground hundreds of feet below. The only thing to break her fall was the ice making the balance exercises very perilous. "I'm ready."

Tien nodded and looked up at the moon. "It's four o'clock now; if we run fast enough we should have just enough time to go to the town and get breakfast."

Chiaotzu and Tien fazed out. Raven ducked a punch from Tien and hopped back, dodging a kick from Chiaotzu. Raven fazed out, racing down the mountains with her mentors close behind. She leaped into the air, flipping backward and smacking the back of Tien's head with a long, wooden pole.

"Up here!" Tien said, knocking Raven on the head with a heel kick.

Raven fell back, feeling the wind rush through her ears as she descended. She bent back, placing her hands on the ground and doing a handstand. She pushed herself into the air again, landing on her feet. She spun around in a circle and knocked her teachers off their feet. "Good job!" Chiaotzu said, flipping backward and landing on his feet. "Now do it again."

The trio started sliding down an icy slope. Raven turned toward Tien and Chiaotzu as the ice carried them and spiked her aura. "I will."

They clashed, masterfully engaging in a battle of balance and martial arts. Raven caught Tien's fist and Tien caught hers. They both spiked their auras, making the mountain range shake. Raven let go and hopped back, preforming a series of hand signals. She ended with placing her hands in a diamond. "Ki Blast Cannon!"

A yellow diamond of fiery chi burst from Raven's hands.

Tien and Chiaotzu hopped over it, firing their own waves in response. "Dodompa!"

Raven copied her teachers, landing on the ice in a beam struggle. She glanced over her shoulder, seeing the clearing onto the path to the town barely a mile down the slope. Raven closed her eyes. "Let it go," she told herself, her aura turning red. Her Dodompa turned red as well, quickly overpowering her mentors. Her pupils turned red. "I'm not going to lose today!"

Tien smirked. "Four Witches Technique!"

Raven's eyes widened as two more arms sprouted from Tien's back, forming a diamond with their hands.

"Ki Blast Cannon!" Tien shouted, sending a yellow wave of chi into her students face.

Raven lost the beam struggle and was blasted half a mile down the slope. Raven flipped back. She fought through the pain in her stomach and spiked her aura again.

"That's enough for now," Tien said, taking a few steps onto the dirt path.

Raven clenched her fists. She had lost, again. If it came down to her, would she be able to defeat The Master and save Earth? Her pupils turned gray.

"Neither can we," Tien said. "Besides, you weren't allowed to unleash your full power."

Raven's eyes widened. "What?"

"I say you have a pretty good chance at winning the tournament," Chiaotzu said. "You'd be able to give the likes of Gohan a run for his money now."

"And beat Yamcha's student, of course," Tien said with pride. "We should take these next few days to relax."

"We have eleven days until the tournament," Raven said. "We need to be training harder than ever."

"And then what?" Tien said. "You'll psych yourself out, kid."

"But the planet is depending on us!" Raven said. "If we're returning to Kami's lookout tomorrow, we need to be training while we have the resources! There's nothing at the lookout to further our training!"

"Have you ever heard of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?" Tien asked.

Raven's communicator buzzed in her pocket. Raven gasped. This would be the first time she would hear from her fellow Titans in months. "Raven!" Robin's voice shouted. "Can you hear me? Raven! Come in!"

Raven whipped out her communicator and flipped it open. "Robin? What's going on?"

"Slade!" Robin said, flipping over a cyborg as he proceeded to impale its shoulder with two fingers. "He's back!"

"How did he find you?" Raven asked.

"I don't know!" Robin said. "We need to return to the lookout now!"

Tien's jaw dropped as they walked to the gates of a ruin that once was the town they visited daily. "My god," he said, gawking at the sights of destruction in front of him. Hundreds of men in black jumpsuits and orange masks raided the town. Raven looked away from the communicator, seeing the Slade-bots as well.

"What's wrong?" Robin asked.

"They found me too," Raven said.

"We'll talk later."

Raven stuffed her communicator in her pocket.

"Ki Blast Cannon!" Tien barked, flattening a group of bots with a single attack.

"What are you doing?" Raven said. "Someone might still be alive."

"They're all dead," Tien snarled. His third eye turned black. "They will pay."

Raven's pupils turned red.

Chiaotzu's cheeks turned gray.

They took off their stilts and landed in the center of chaos. "Raven, take one and find out who did this. Whoever this Slade is, he could not have done it alone."

Tien and Chiaotzu disappeared among the chaos, acting as the spirits of vengeance. Raven charged a group of twenty robots, making quick work of all but one. She gripped the last one by the throat and placed her other hand on his forehead. She closed her eyes, reading every memory he had. Tien's telepathy, thankfully, worked on more than just living creatures, but simple AI as well. Raven grit her teeth and threw him to the ground. Her aura turned red. "I knew it."

"I just got a message from Robin," Cyborg said, looking out the window of the capsule house Blackfire was staying in. When he and Trunks weren't training, Trunks would spend most of his time "watching" her. He sighed; did the brilliant Trunks really fall for their enemy? "Training is over. We need to report to Kami's Lookout. Now."

"What did he say?" Blackfire said.

"Slade is back," Cyborg said. "They found Robin and Raven."

"How?" Blackfire said. "They are in places as remote as we are."

Trunks folded his arms. "Someone must have told him where we are."

"I think I already know who did it," Cyborg said.

"Hey," Blackfire said. "I don't even know who Slade is."

"You were lying about the Gordanian plot, broke out of prison, and you crash landed here," Cyborg said, raising his voice. "Trunks told you where the rest of us went, and you told Slade with the communicator Trunks built for you!"

"I don't know where anyone else is." Trunks turned to Cyborg and looked up at him. "Don't assume that I would do something that stupid."

"I'm not so sure about your intelligence any more," Cyborg said. "She's manipulating you."

"I know she is trying," Trunks said, grimacing at his partner. They had been at odds for the past few months. "She's trying to divide us and pick us off individually."

"Then why not get rid of her?" Cyborg shouted. "We won't have to deal with her if she's not here!"

"I know what I'm doing," Trunks said.

"What are you doing?!" Cyborg said. "Maybe impressing her will make her less evil!"

"If she's here, she's not with Slade," Trunks said. "Did it ever cross your mind that even if she did tell Slade about our locations, she wouldn't have been able to do anything to make the situation worse."

"Well it's not like keeping her here is making matters better!" Cyborg said.

"Cy is right, you know," Blackfire said. Where's my bowl of popcorn? This is great!

"You are missing the point!" Trunks said. "If she wasn't here, she would be somewhere else murdering hundreds of innocents! It's best if she stays here so we can-"

"So you can what?" Cyborg interrupted. "Take her out on a date?"

Trunks snarled. "It's not like that."

"Trunks," Cyborg said. "Step out of the way."

"What are you going to do?" Trunks asked.

"She's going to hurt you if this keeps up, and I'm tired of warning you." Cyborg placed his hand on Trunks' shoulder. "Move."

"And what if I don't?" Trunks asked.

"She can kill you," Cyborg said. "Once she finishes using you, she will destroy you. I'm going to prevent that."

Trunks wouldn't move.

"I said move."

"Do you want to continue stating the obvious?" Trunks said.

Cyborg pushed him out of the way, sending him sailing through the glass windows. He aimed his blaster at Blackfire. "Get out of here. Now."

Trunks leaped through the window, sending a kick into Cyborg's head.

Cyborg stumbled back. He clenched his teeth and glared at Trunks.

"I didn't want to do that," Trunks said.

"You're right, shrimp," Cyborg said. "You didn't."

"I'm not going to fight you, Cyborg," Trunks said. "You'll be able to get your anger out at me if we fight in the tournament."

"If you're not going to fight me, step aside," Cyborg said.

"This is exactly what she wants," Trunks said. "We need to calm down."

"Boys," Blackfire said, looking out of the window and seeing hundreds of Slade bots surround the house. "I'm the least of your problems."

Trunks and Cyborg looked out the window, watching a few bots step into the house.

"Stay back, Trunks!" Cyborg said. "I'll take care of this-"

Trunks' aura spiked. "Cyborg," he said. "I'm not as weak as I look."

The two pods rocketed through space. "Where is this final stop?" Starfire said. "We've visited nearly every hostile planet in this part of the galaxy."

"This place isn't hostile, Koriand'r," Vegeta said. "You've proven yourself a very powerful, smart, capable warrior. I have decided to give you a little gift before we return to that lowly planet."

"That lowly planet is home to my friends," Starfire said.

"Trust me," Vegeta said. "Besides for the small number of heroes you're friends with, Kakarot, his son, my son, and the Namekian, there is not much else."

Starfire rolled her eyes. "Please tell me the name of the planet we are going to."

"We'll be in its gravity field in less than 15 minutes," Vegeta said.

"Tell me what it is!" Starfire said, looking out of the pod's window. She gasped, seeing the large, red planet with a single yellow ring. "Tamaran!" she squealed.

"Yes, calm down," Vegeta said. His scouter started to beep rapidly. "What the hell?"

"What is it?" Starfire asked.

"My scouter must be acting up," Vegeta said. "I'm picking up hundreds of power levels surrounding the planet."

"I do not see anything-" Starfire's communicator buzz. She pulled it out, seeing Cyborg's face in the camera.

"Yo, Star!" he said. "You and Vegeta need to get to Kami's Lookout! Slade is back, and he's making sure that we know it! They've found Robin, Raven, and me."

"What about Beast Boy and Terra?" she asked. "What about Gohan?"

"I don't know," Cyborg said. "I haven't heard from any of them yet. You might be the only one safe right now because you're in space, and unless Slade can-"

"Koriand'r!" Vegeta exclaimed, watching a fleet of spacecraft block their passage to Tamaran. They were painted black and orange, but were piloted by tall, green, reptilian aliens in golden armor. "Gordanians closing in fast!"

Starfire looked up at the fleet and dropped her communicator.

"It looks like you're busy," Cyborg said. "I'll just call back later."

"What are they doing here?" Starfire asked. "I thought the Gordanians were defeated!"

The Gordanians started shooting.

"The Gordanians are resilient bastards," Vegeta said. "Let's fix that."

He stepped out, laughing at his opponents as they rushed toward him. Starfire flew out of her pod as well. The fleet surrounded them and charged their blasters, preparing to finish them off in one shot. Vegeta and Starfire spiked their auras and screamed into space, sending an explosive wave of chi all around them. A majority of the fleet was destroyed in the explosion. The two warriors chased the rest of the fleet, destroying them with a volley of chi waves.

Starfire burst toward Tamaran with Vegeta dragging the ships behind her. When they had entered the atmosphere, their jaws dropped. Half of the lush, green, purple and blue forests that completely covered the land portion of the planet had disappeared, while the white seas were tinted red around the shores, giving the continents a red outline. "To the palace," Starfire said, leading Vegeta through the green skies to an enormous palace looking like it had just come out of a battle.

Vegeta and Starfire landed on the stone paths leading to the steps up to the tall, cylindrical cluster of white towers forming the castle. The main tower was taller and wider than all the others, ending in a purple bulb with windows made out of a yellowish glass. The smaller towers were identical to the main tower in design, but they were smaller and connected to the main tower and adjacent towers by walkways with glass walls. Connected to the main tower was a long bridge leading to a giant dome with smaller domes on top of it. That was the actual palace; the towers were used as prisons and military barracks, but because rarely anyone on Tamaran had to fight any more or went to prison, it did not hold many inhabitants. Not until recently, at least.

"Galfore and the others should be up there," Starfire said, her eyes glowing with pure rage.

Vegeta and Starfire ran inside. The lobby had been destroyed almost entirely, and the floor was covered in assorted cell keys. Two sets of stairs led to the jail cells.

"I take the left," Vegeta said. "You take the-"

Starfire disappeared up the right path.

"That's the spirit!" Vegeta said, rushing onto the left staircase.

"Hello, Gordanian children!" Vegeta shouted as he charged a group of Gordanians. "I am the monster in your story book! I am Vegeta, the Prince of Saiyans!"

The Gordanians froze in place, but that did not stop the ruthless Saiyan from destroying them.

"Is it fear?" Vegeta asked, dropping the Gordanians like flies. "Or is it respect?" Vegeta walked up the last flight of stairs, seeing two Gordanians standing in front of a metal door.

The Gordanians' eyes widened. "V-v-vegeta!" they stammered. "I thought Frieza killed you!"

"He did," Vegeta said. "I'm back." He gripped them by the throat, raising them into the air. "You two are going to do what I say, when I say it."

One Gordanian peed on the floor. "Y-y-yes, prince!"

Vegeta set them down. "Unlock the door. Let the one known as Galfore out. Leave everyone else inside until I release them and tell your people to leave the planet, unless they want to fight me. Then, you will tell Trogaar to meet me in the courtyard to fight me like a man, if that's what he is."

"Trogaar isn't here, sir!" one of the guards said. "He went to Earth to win The Master's tournament with Slade!"

"Trogaar is in the tournament?" Vegeta smirked. "Interesting."

Vegeta looked inside the room, seeing the floor of a small jail cell, holding around fifty people inside.

"Is this it?" he asked.

"Everyone else escaped to other continents, sir!" one of the Gordanians said.

"Vegeta!" a deep, husky voice shouted. "Were you just in the neighborhood? What the hell, man? Long time no see!" A Tamaranian the size of muscular polar bear with fiery-red, hair in a ring around his bald scalp reaching past his back with a long beard and green eyes stepped out of the room, throwing the two Gordanians down the stairs. He wore brown rags and his face looked very pale. "It's been too long, friend."

He and Vegeta quickly bro-hugged each other.

"I brought Koriand'r here," Vegeta said. "She should be here momentarily." He looked inside the jail cell. "Where's Komand'r?"

Galfore's smile disappeared at the sound of her name. "She fled to Earth to warn Koriand'r of Trogaar's arrival," Galfore said. "If it wasn't for that coward leading an assault on the capital, I would have faced him in one-on-one combat and crushed his skull."

"I'll be doing that in eleven days," Vegeta said.

Galfore laughed. "You haven't changed at all, Vegeta!"

The door on the other side of the cell opened. Starfire released the other prisoners. "Galfore!" she exclaimed happily, hugging her surrogate father's meaty arm. "Tek'nop grapha!"

Galfore squeezed the air out of Starfire's lungs as he hugged her back. "Koriand'r! Tek'nop grapha!"

"Once we take care of this, you need to come to Earth and watch the tournament!" Starfire said.

"I cannot," Galfore said. "When we liberate the capital, I will gather my men and take the planet under the Tamaranian banner. I sent your sister to warn you about the war here-"

"My sister is on Earth?!" Starfire said. Her eyes turned green. "Vegeta, we take the capital, gather Galfore's forces, and return to Earth." She looked up at Galfore. "I apologize for having to leave so promptly, but now that my sister has returned to Earth, I must watch her closely."

"Wait," Galfore said. "Komand'r traveled to Earth before?"

"Open your eyes, BB," Terra said, leading him to an old diner looking like it had been built in the fifties. "I hope you're hungry."

Beast Boy opened his eyes and grinned. "You're so thoughtful, Terra."

"Happy three months," Terra said, kissing him on the cheek.

They walked inside the small diner and sat down at the counter. The sleepy, fair-skinned woman in a pink apron with her hair up in a beehive glazed over them.

"Pam," Terra said. "Bring out the veggie special."

"A jumbo vanilla-tofu float," Pam said, "coming right up."

Beast Boy's jaw dropped as she brought the two-foot tall ice cream float in a glass cup out to the table. "This is the best gift anyone has ever given to me, ever!"

Terra slid ten dollars to Pam. "Thanks."

"No problem," Pam said.

Terra looked into the glass. Slade stood in the entrance, staring at her intently. "You almost finished, BB?" she said, sounding absolutely calm.

"I just started," Beast Boy said, taking a bite. His expression turned grim.

"What's wrong?" Terra asked.

"This float..." Beast Boy said, "is the best float in the history of floats!" He finished the treat in less than five minutes, shedding a tear when it was over.

"Well," Terra looked toward the entrance, relieved as Slade had disappeared. "The day's still young. Let's go."

"Aren't you going to eat your-" Beast Boy felt Terra's strength she had building in her training drag him out of the diner.

They continued around the region, traveling from place to place using their amazing speed. The day faded into night, and the last stop for the three month anniversary gift was upon them. Unbeknownst to Beast Boy, traveling around the region was not Terra's plan. They were being hunted, and Terra knew all along. Terra took him to a closed amusement park, but a gate was not going to stop two Titans.

A chill ran up Beast Boy's spine. He thought it was the gate. "Terra, I don't think we should be here."

"I would stop here all the time before I became a Titan," Terra said, hopping over the gate.

"Isn't this illegal?" Beast Boy said.

"Do you trust me?" Terra countered.

Beast Boy hopped over the gate. "Let's go to the Ferris Wheel first. Save the rollercoasters last."

"Perfect," Terra said, grabbing his hand and pulling him to the ride.

They started the wheel and hopped in, beginning their slow ascent. The next hour passed in silence while Terra and Beast Boy made their way to the peak of the ride. "I wanted to thank you," Beast Boy said.

"For what?" Terra asked, half laughing.

"For all of this," Beast Boy said. "This been my best day in a very long time."

Terra hugged him tightly. "I've enjoyed this day very much too."

"Also, I wanted to thank you for trusting me again."

Terra's grin faded. "What do you mean?"

"I thought that you would never trust me again after I let your secret out," he said, taking the fall for Gohan. "Now we can trust each other with absolutely everything," he continued. "You know more about me than anyone, Terra."

Terra's expression turned solemn. She let go of Beast Boy and looked him in the eyes. "If you knew something terrible about me, would you still be my friend?"

Beast Boy was taken back by this question. "Of course," he said. "I would be your friend even if you killed me in the tournament." He laughed. "Not literally, but come on. I'll always be your friend."

"Poor changeling," an ominous voice said from below their Ferris Wheel car. "You have no idea how true your joke will become."

Beast Boy's eyes widened. "Jump!"

The two Titans jumped out of the car as it was crushed.

Beast Boy glared at their attacker. "Terra, get out of here. I'll take him."

"Stay where you are, child," the man in the black and orange mask said. "Terra is coming with me."

Beast Boy burst into the air with his fist cocked back. "You're not going to touch her."

"So she didn't tell you?" Slade said, being driven back by an onslaught of attacks. "I thought you two were friends."

Slade knocked Beast Boy in the head, sending him flailing through the air.

"Terra, do as I-"

Two Gorilla fists slammed into Slade's back, sending him to the ground. He and Terra dropped. "Terra! Get out of here! You need to go now!"

Slade hopped to his feet. "I don't know where you learned to get so fast, but it doesn't matter. She has to go with me."

"No she doesn't!" Beast Boy threw a kick.

Slade blocked it and spun around, whipping Beast Boy into the air. He bombarded the teen with a volley of yellow waves of chi. Beast Boy flipped back, morphing into a tiger and landing on his feet. Slade pulled out his bow staff, keeping the green tiger at bay. "I feel sorry for you," Slade said. "You don't know her the way I know her. She doesn't even like you."

"That's not true, Beast Boy!" Terra shouted, too petrified to join her fellow titan in battle.

Beast Boy lunged and morphed back into a human, covering his eyes with both hands. "Solar Flare!" he shouted, blinding his opponent with a flash brighter than the sun.

Slade stumbled back, angrily cursing out his opponent as his eyes started to burn.

"I know where we can hide!" Terra said, pulling Beast Boy through the amusement park and into a house of mirrors.

"We need to get back to Piccolo and Roshi," Beast Boy said. "If we lead Slade to them, he's done for."

"I can't go back, Beast Boy," Terra said. Her hair fell in front of one of her eyes.

"Why not?" Beast Boy said. "We cannot fight him alone!"

"She's not fighting me," Slade said, appearing in all the mirrors. "My apprentice is fighting you."

Beast Boy blinked, and Terra was gone. "Terra? Where-" Beast Boy ducked a punch from his girlfriend and threw her over his shoulder.

"The Terra you knew was only a figment of your imagination," Slade said. "In reality, she's been working for me." Slade chuckled. "If I remember Joker's last words to Robin before he finally kicked off: I played you like a violin then cut your strings."

"Terra!" Beast Boy said, catching her fist. Their auras spiked, making the mirrors shake. "Tell me he's lying!"

"I trained her, taught her to control her amazing powers, then sent her to the tournament to destroy you," Slade said. "She's a great actor, don't you think?"

"No!" Beast Boy said. "Terra would never do that!" Beast Boy stared at Terra, seeing tears roll down her cheeks. "Slade! Stop what you're doing! Let her go!"

"I'm not controlling her," Slade said. "Terra, attack him."

"Don't listen to him!" Beast Boy pleaded.

Terra's face filled with sorrow. Two mud fists shot from the ground, slamming Beast Boy into the ceiling.

"Using your communicator, she gave me the coordinates of your friends," Slade said. "You will not make it to the tournament, and neither will the other Titans."

"Liar!" Beast Boy roared, blowing the roof off the house. "I know Terra! She's the kindest, sweetest, most truthful person I've ever met! You are just trying to mess with my emotions!" He dodged several pillars of earth and knocked Terra to the ground. "Terra! Prove it to him right now!"

"Behind you!" Terra warned.

Beast Boy ducked an elbow strike and returned his own, nailing Slade in the stomach. He whipped around and shot upward, morphing his arm into a small dragon's foot. The claws cut deep grooves into Slade's mask and sent Slade coiling back.

A giant rock slammed into Beast Boy's back, slamming him into the wall. He fell on his back, seeing a Slade with an unscratched mask and a clone with a scratched mask standing over him. "Sneaky, isn't she?"

The Slade's charged two yellow waves of chi on their hands. "Terra!" he cried. "Help me!"

"Tell him before he dies," Slade said.

"I-" Her voice cracked. She fell to her knees. "I'm sorry, Beast Boy."

Beast Boy's world shattered into a million pieces. "No! I can't accept that!" he barked. "It's not true!"

"It wasn't supposed to be like this, Garfield!" Terra shouted.

"Then why did you let it?" Beast Boy said, losing his nerve to yell at her.

"Because he helped save me from myself," Terra said. "I owed him-"

"So it was all a game, then?" Beast Boy said, raising his voice. "A plot to destroy me and my friends."

"But I am your friend!" Terra said.

"You never had friends, girl," Slade snapped.

"You were more than a friend to me," Beast Boy said. "I cared for you, protected you like you were family;" He started to laugh. "I fucking loved you. I saw our whole future ahead of us-"

"Don't do this to me," Terra said. "You promised!"

Beast Boy fazed out, reappearing above Terra with the necklace he gave her in his hands. "Some promises are meant to be broken." He crushed the heart of the necklace and tore apart the chain. "You did this to yourself, Terra."

Terra screamed in rage, grabbing Beast Boy by the throat and throwing him into a mirror. "Kamehameha!" she barked, crumpling Beast Boy like a piece of paper on the ground. Terra's eyes widened as she stared at the horrific display of her once friend. "Trust me, Garfield! I didn't want-"

"Trust you?" Beast Boy said, wiping the blood from his mouth. "You do all of this and expect me to trust you?"

"Garfield!" Piccolo's voice shouted from the sky.

"Terra!" Roshi shouted after. "Please! Don't do this!"

Piccolo and Roshi landed on either side of Beast Boy, facing Terra and Slade. "Slade was right about you, Terra," Beast Boy said. "You have no friends."

Terra's shock turned into anger. Her anger swelled into hate. "You'll pay for this," she said. "I will make you regret ever meeting me."

Beast Boy glared at her. "I regret it already."

He flew off with Piccolo and Roshi to Kami's Lookout with a new determination. He was out for blood.

Shoot, son! The tournament starts next chapter! What do you think of the growing tensions? Beast Boy's new demeanor? What the hell has Gohan been doing? Please tell me what you thought of this chapter!
