Beast Boy glanced at the clock. It was just after midnight, technically on the morning of a special day. It was Raven's birthday, and he hadn't bought her a present. He had something better in mind. He gathered his courage and knocked on her door. Her door slid open almost instantly and she peeped her head out of it, looking rather tired. She had been awake though, because she had been reading a book. "Do you know what time it is?" She hissed quietly, not wanting to wake up the other titans.
Beast Boy hesitated. "I know it's late, but it's your birthday, and I have a present for you." He said softly.
"A present?" She questioned, her tone of voice just a bit softer. "Beast Boy, you didn't have to get me anything." She said with a shake of her head. It was a nice gesture though, even though she and the changeling were always at each other's throats, they still managed to be friends.
Beast Boy smiled. "It's not much." He replied. "Follow me?" Raven nodded and followed the green boy out to the common room. She figured she might as well humor him. To her, her birthday wasn't of much importance. Beast Boy smiled as he hit the play button to the stereo. The volume wasn't very high, as he didn't want to wake the entire tower. Never Had a Dream Come True by S Club 7 began playing as he offered his hand to Raven. "May I have this dance?" He asked.
This time, Raven had to try and suppress a laugh, "Beast Boy, I don't dance." She replied simply.
Beast Boy smiled. "It's not that hard." He replied. He got closer to her and put her right hand over his shoulder. He then gently took hold of her left hand, while wrapping his right hand around her waist. They slowly swayed to the music. "See?" He asked.
Raven sighed as she couldn't help but to sway along with the music as Beast Boy was holding her. "I guess this is nice..." She admitted. "Thank you Beast Boy."
"I know your birthday doesn't mean much to you, but it means a lot to me." Beast Boy said softly. "It symbolizes the birth of the most beautiful girl I've ever met."
Raven's face flushed a light pink color, "T-Thanks..." She muttered, unable to think of a more proper response in that moment. "I didn't know you felt like that." She admitted.
"I always have," he replied. "I just finally found a way to say it," he said as the song ended. "Happy birthday, Raven."
