Chapter 6

The next day was much better. Everyone enjoyed the time off. Will and the others decided to go hang around town. Ausar stayed behind. "C'mon. It's much better than staying here all day."

"I want to stay with Melody."

"What, you gonna wait on 'er hand and foot?" one of the others laughed.

"Easy chap," Will warned. "He's just concerned about his girl. Let's let him be. He'll come on his time."

"Alright, later then." With that they left.

"Dragon Boy? Who was that?" Melody asked groggily as she slowly sat up in bed.

"Just the boys. They wanted to know if I wanted to go hang out with them."

"Why didn't you? Surely it's not because of me. Don't give me those sad eyes. You should have gone."

"But what about you, baby?" he said sitting down on the bed next to her.

"I'll be fine. I can get bed rest and take care of myself without you."

"I'm sorry this happened."

"It wasn't your fault," she said slowly taking his hand. "…I can't help it if I'm so good looking," she joked. He smiled.

"What's going on?" Yugi asked from the bed as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Morning."

"Hey bro, sleep alright?"

"Yeah. You feel okay today?"

"I'm fine sweetie. Thanks for asking."

"So, what's the plan?"

"Nothing. You can do whatever you want."

"Okay."

"Dragon Boy, why don't you take Yugi out? Spend some quality time with him."

"Melody…"

"Ausar, I mean it. I want you to spend some quality time with your brother."

"You're sure you'll be alright?"

"I'll be fine. Just set me up with some water and the TV remote. Room service can handle everything else."

"Alright. You want to go hang out then?"

"Yeah! Can we?"

"What's all the commotion about?"

"I'm going to hang out with Ausar. Want to come?"

"…I don't know…"

"You don't have to Pharaoh."

"Yeah, you can sleep some more if you want. You can keep me company," Melody said with a big smile.

"You sure?" Yugi asked.

"I'm just tired today."

"Alright then, let's get ready bro." Yugi nodded and hopped out of bed excitedly. Yami just sighed and rolled over.

It didn't take Yugi long to get ready. /You sure you don't want to come?/

(Last night took a greater toll on me than I thought.)

/Alright then./

"Ready bro?"

"Yeah."

"Dragon Boy, get into my purse and take out a little bit."

"Melody…"

"Today's on me okay?"

"You sure?"

"I want you two to have some fun alright?"

"Okay. If you need anything let me know."

"I will. Now get out of here," she said with a smile. He kissed her goodbye and locked the door. She watched the door for a moment and then turned her attention to Yami. She smiled to see the Pharaoh fast asleep. She took a drink of water and turned the TV on, turning it down so it wouldn't wake Yami up.

"So where should we go first?"

"I'm kinda hungry."

"Me too. Let's walk down that way."

"Kay."

After lunch they found an arcade. "I might not be too good at any of the games. It's been a long time."

"That's okay. I'm just glad we can hang out, away from the band and away from the prying eyes of mom."

"...Yeah. You still okay about this?"

"...Well, I have to admit I do miss home. I miss my friends the most. I'm still upset at mom and grandpa though."

"Alright. If you ever want to go home, let me know."

"I will, but it won't be happening anytime soon."

Ausar sighed. If you say so, Yugi...

"Let's go play that game over there."

"Okay." They went over to a fighting game. Yugi was slow at first, letting Ausar catch on. Once he won a match, Yugi stepped it up to his normal level of play. By the end of it, he had beaten Ausar five matches to three. He also got a new high score. "You took me down big time, bro." He only smiled as he finished putting in his name and got up. "What's a game you aren't so good at?" Yugi laughed.

"Well..."

"How about that one?" Ausar said pointing to a racing game.

"Okay." So, they went over to it and started playing. Yugi won that one too, but Ausar came in a very close second.

"I think Grandpa rubbed off on you." Yugi only laughed.

"Yeah..."

"What's that over there?"

"The dance game? Tèa plays-..."

"No, the one next to it."

"...It looks like a singing game, I think."

"Mind if we head over?"

"Sure, but I'm not that good."

"It's alright, you don't have to play."

"That's a relief." They walked over, careful not to disrupt the crowd around the dancing game.

"You don't mind just watching?"

"No, it's okay. It's about time I let you win something anyway." Ausar could only smile. He stepped up onto the game and chose a song. Yugi watched intently as the music started up. He sang perfectly and racked up a ton of points doing it. He really got into it and started showing some of his stage flare. A few girls started coming over to watch him. Pretty soon, almost the entire dance game crowd had moved over to watch Ausar. All the girls were transfixed. The guy on the dance game became disappointed that his crowd was gone. He finished his game and walked off. Ausar finished with a big move. He got a new high score and entered his name in the third place rank. When he got down off the game all the girls surrounded him.

"It's nice to know I have fans, but I'm sorry to say that I'm already taken." They all looked upset and crestfallen. Some just would not give up. "Hey, I've got a girlfriend and I don't want to make her mad." Most of them gave up and left, but three girls were determined.

"Please?"

"I'll do whatever you say."

"Just one date...Just one!"

"I can't. I'm already taken. I have a girlfriend." Two of the girls sighed and left.

"Please...I can never get a guy. I'm not very popular either. Please?"

"I don't want to upset my girl, so I can't."

"..."

"I can give you some advice."

"Really?"

"Yeah. First off, don't go chasing after any guy you see. Some guys can be real jerks. Second, try and let guys come to you. Put yourself out there, and I don't mean looks. Sure, you're a pretty girl, but you want to be noticed for your personality. Just be yourself and I'm sure any guy will be begging to be with you."

"Thanks!" the girl said with a smile. She ran off, taking Ausar's advice.

"That was nice of you."

"I felt I had to."

"Why?"

"Well, that's one last obsessive fangirl chasing after idols, never getting anywhere."

"Oh. That was still nice of you."

"...Yeah. Let's get out of here before more 'fans' attack me."

"Yeah." So they headed to a card shop where Yugi helped Ausar improve his deck a little.

"Thanks a lot. This should help a lot."

"Yeah," Yugi replied with a smile. He spotted a photo booth and pulled an unwilling Ausar over to it.

"What's up?"

"Please? I want to remember today. Besides...if you ever get taken away again...I won't forget you..."

"I'm not going anywhere, bro," Ausar said with a smile as he pulled Yugi into a hug. Yugi nodded and slowly pulled away. Ausar put money in and they posed. Two strips of four came out. They laughed about the different pictures.

"I like this one," Yugi said pointing to one with them sitting down, an arm around each other.

"Me too."

"...I'll be right back," Yugi said taking off.

"Bro, wait up!" I don't like him being by himself. He caught up to him just as he was coming out of some store. He was fiddling with something in his hands. "Don't go...running off like...that...this big city...is dangerous...by...yourself..." Ausar said catching his breath.

"I'm sorry. Here," Yugi replied shoving something into his hand. Ausar looked at it curiously. There in his hand was a keychain with the picture Yugi liked inside it.

"What's this for?"

"So you don't lose it. I've got one too," Yugi said showing him the exact same thing.

"Bro...You're really serious about all this aren't you?"

"I lost you once; I don't want it to happen again."

"...I told you, I'm not going anywhere," he replied kneeling down to him.

"...What about mom? And grandpa?"

"They just need time. Besides, not even they can keep me away from you. You've proven that by following me here." Yugi looked downcast and hugged Ausar tightly.

"I'm sorry about the last ten years..."

"It ain't your fault. It's mine...and I was only trying to protect you." Yugi nodded slowly. "Let's go back, okay?" Yugi nodded again. He slowly followed Ausar back towards the hotel. "How 'bout a ride?"

"Huh?"

"You're slowing me down."

"Sorry..."

"Hop on."

"Wha?"

"On my back, bro."

"Oh..." So, Yugi slowly climbed on, wrapping his arms around Ausar's neck. He rested his head against his shoulder and slowly fell asleep along the way.

Ausar knocked on the door to the room. Melody and the Pharaoh were watching TV. "I'll get it," Yami offered. Melody smiled.

"Hey Pharaoh."

"Is he okay?"

"Yeah, he just fell asleep. Think I wore him out." Yami smiled and let them in, locking the door behind him. Ausar gently laid Yugi in the bed and tucked him in.

"So you guys had fun huh?"

"Yep. Oh...I had a few girls attack me earlier."

"Oh really?" Melody joked.

"Yeah. I was playing a singing game at the arcade and they swarmed."

"So I see. Well, I'm glad they didn't take my prize away from me," she replied playfully.

"You know you're my only girl."

"I sure do, Dragon Boy."

"You been alright while we were gone?"

"Yeah. I've had good company."

"You feel better Pharaoh?"

"Much."

"The boys come by or anything?"

"No. No gig tonight either."

"That's a relief. Need a break and you need rest anyway." Melody only smiled. "What's on?"

"The Pharaoh and I found an interesting documentary. Want to watch with us?"

"Alright," he replied sitting down on the bed next to Melody.

Later, after the documentary was over, Yugi and Yami were dueling each other while Ausar obsessed over Melody. "Stop..." she whined "You don't need to wait on me hand and foot. Relax."

"Okaayy." She smiled as he sat down on the bed. He took his guitar out and started playing with it, strumming a few random chords. The random chords turned into songs and soon, Melody started singing with him. They giggled as they finished another song. They just stared at each other. "Sing me a song, just you."

"Okay. How about this one, I know it's one of your favorites..."

"No, not that one. Sing me our song." He only smiled as he started over.

"The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah

I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

I'm quiet you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide

Don't stop here
I lost my place
I'm close behind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide

You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide"

They smiled lovingly at each other as he finished. Melody leaned forward and they locked in a passionate kiss. Yugi giggled as he looked away. "Mushy stuff," he winced. Yami chuckled. They pulled away and stared at each other again. Yugi and Yami returned to their duel. Ausar got up to put away his guitar and then sat down right next to Melody. He put his arm around her and let her use his shoulder as a head rest. The peace was soon interrupted as yelling could be heard outside the door. There was pounding on it too. Yami tensed and tried to listen to what was going on. Ausar looked at Melody and got up, heading towards the door.

"BANG BANG! YOU LET ME IN THAT ROOM YOU MURDEROUS KIDNAPPER!" Yami's eyes widened. He slowly turned to Yugi.

"Come on, Hikari. Things are about to become rough."

"Brother?"

"Go with the Pharaoh. Now." Yugi nodded and followed Yami into the bathroom.

/Mom seemed pretty mad...I'm scared./

(It'll be alright, Aibou.) Yami soothed as he locked the bathroom and hugged Yugi close.

"LET ME IN DAMMNIT!"

"You open this door Ausar!" Grandpa yelled.

/...*sob*.../

(It'll be okay.) Ausar hesitated and opened the door.

"WHERE THE HELL IS MY SON?!" Yuri exclaimed, getting in his face.

"Now now, Mrs. Mutou. He's perfectly safe."

"I don't need lip from some hotsy little girlfriend."

"Hey now..." Melody said, hurt.

"Don't you talk to her like that!"

"You don't have the right to speak! Murderer!"

"Just give us Yugi and you can do whatever you want," Grandpa added.

"No! He's perfectly happy here! He WANTED to come here! To get away from you!"

"Don't you disrespect me like that!"

"Please...let's not fight. We can solve this in a much more peaceful manner..."

"Stay out of this Melody," Ausar said sternly. She sighed heavily.

"Yugi? Yugi where are you? You come out this instant!"

"Come on Yugi, pack up your things. You're coming home now."

Yugi slowly stood up and pushed Yami away. (Aibou? What are you doing?)

/Putting a stop to all this.../ he sobbed.

(Yugi...)

/I'm the only one who can talk some sense into her./ Yami sighed and let Yugi step out of the bathroom.

"YUGI IS GOING HOME WITH US WHERE HE BELONGS!"

"No he isn't! He's happy here!"

"Shut up! I don't want to hear excuses from a Murderer!"

"STOP!" Yugi called from the bathroom doorway. Yami stood behind him, ready for anything. Everyone stopped and looked at him.

"So that's where you've been hiding. Come, we're going home now," Grandpa said. He took Yugi's things and started to pack them.

"Say goodbye to this bad influence and let's go," Yuri said rushing over and grabbing his arm.

"NO!"

"Yugi, you're going home. Come on now," she said pulling him away.

"I'm not going anywhere!" he said wrenching out of her grip.

"See what you've done? You've made him lose his senses!" Grandpa shouted.

"Come on! We're leaving!" Yuri said trying to grab him again.

"I said NO!" he said pushing her away again.

"Yugi Mutou! You're coming home!"

"No mom! I'm staying right here with my brother! This...All this is the reason I chose to come in the first place!"

"What?!" Both Yuri and Grandpa said at the same time.

"Yes! I CHOSE to come here! I WANTED to!"

"Y-you...You WANTED to? Why honey?"

"Because unlike you, I trust Ausar! I believe he tried to SAVE me all those years ago! He's my brother!"

"...Yugi...Wh-why didn't you tell me this earlier?" Yuri said slowly.

"Because you wouldn't listen! You...you just wouldn't listen..." he said going into sobs. Yami ran to his aid and held him close.

(It's okay Hikari.) "Don't you understand what you're doing?! All this fighting is hurting the one you hold dear! Why can't you just let the past be!"

"Ph-...Pharaoh..."

"I trust Ausar with my LIFE! How can you force Yugi to choose between his family and his own brother?! Stop all this nonsense!"

"Mom...I love Yugi with all my heart. I would NEVER do anything to hurt him," Ausar pleaded. "I killed that guy to PROTECT him. I swear. Please...please believe me, Mom."

"...Please...I love him mom. I don't want to him to go away again. I don't want to leave," Yugi sniffled from Yami's arms.

"...Yugi...Yugi I'm sorry..." Grandpa said. "Ausar...Ausar I'm sorry I've been so disrespectful to you."

"Does...Does that mean I can start calling you 'Gramps' again?" He nodded.

"...Mom...?" Yugi pleaded with his tear-stained, amethyst eyes. Everyone stared at Yuri. She stared back and forth between Yugi and Ausar.

"Please mom...please believe me. I love Yugi with my life," Ausar pleaded as he went over and ruffled Yugi's hair. "I would never do anything to hurt him," he said. Yugi latched onto him and he hugged him close.

"Yuri...You must understand. When I see Ausar, I see an innocent man who paid the cost for protecting his brother. He's served his time. I see a changed man before me. I see a brother who loves Yugi dearly," Yami said.

"Yuri...Yuri we've been selfish. Trying to protect Yugi and not thinking of his feelings even once," Grandpa added. Yuri stared at Yugi's sobbing form in Ausar's arms. She collapsed to the floor sobbing. Grandpa rushed over. "Yuri?"

"...Oh dad...I've...I've been so horrible...But...I was...I was so scared back then..."

"We both were," Grandpa said putting a hand on her shoulder.

"...Yugi...Yugi I'm so...so sorry...for everything...for taking your brother from you...I...I thought I was protecting you...But...but I needed to forgive him...and protect myself...Ausar...Ausar, my son..." she said slowly standing and reaching out her arms. Ausar stood still, letting go of Yugi. He didn't know what to say. Yugi smiled, happy tears joining his sad ones. "Come here, my son...please forgive me?" Ausar slowly walked over to her. "Ausar, my son...I'm so sorry...I was...a horrible mother...I should...I should have tried to understand..." He slowly pulled her into a hug, hesitating for a moment. She latched onto him, sobbing. "...I...I'm so sorry..."

"...Mom...Mom, I'm sorry too..." They stood there, hugging each other. Ausar started to cry, making Yugi blink. He had NEVER seen Ausar cry. Yami smiled and crossed his arms in satisfaction. Melody squealed and clapped in joy. Yugi sniffled and made his way over. He wiggled in, making it a group hug. Grandpa smiled.

Yuri sniffled as they pulled away. Ausar wiped his eyes and walked over to Melody. "Crybaby..." Yugi sniffled.

"Am not. I wasn't crying," he defended.

"Aww, don't be so tough Dragon Boy. It's okay to cry," Melody cooed. She smiled as he lay down next to her. She let him rest his head in her lap as she ran her hands through his hair.

"Well...I guess we'll head back then."

"Yeah...I'm sorry boys. For all the trouble I've caused."

"It's okay mom. Hey bro?"

"Huh?" Ausar said titling his head up.

"Do you think...Would it be alright if mom and Grandpa stayed for a while? You know, to see us play at least once."

"Sounds good to me. I'll have to check with the guys though."

"I think it's a wonderful idea. You'll love us Mrs. Mutou. I taught these boys everything I know," she smiled.

"Hey!"

"You know I'm kidding, Dragon Boy." He gave a small smile. The door opened and the rest of the band peeked in.

"Everything alright in here fellas?" asked Will.

"Its fine, Will," Melody said.

"Hello boys. I'm sorry I was so rude to you all earlier. I'm Mrs. Mutou, Yugi and Ausar's mom. You can call me Yuri if you wish."

"I'm their grandfather. You can call me Solomon."

"What's with the turn around, Sweetheart?" John asked.

"They made up," Melody said with a big smile.

"Oh, alright. C'mon guys. Private family time then."

"Righto, carry on then," Will said as they all left.

"So, want to tell me the full story?" Yuri asked in a motherly tone. "And don't you leave anything out, Ausar Mutou."

"Okay, okay," Ausar sighed sitting up in the bed. "You'd better sit down, this will take some time." She nodded and sat in a spare chair.

After the long explanation Yuri was wide eyed and speechless. Grandpa cleared his throat, still absorbing it all. "So...that...uhm...EXPLAINS a few things...-clears his throat again-"

Ausar smiles a bit. "I'm glad you understand." he said.

"...Well...I find it interesting that an Egyptian God monster could possess a person. I've never heard of it before. It's a good thing though. I remember that fire. We were so upset and Yuri wanted to go back for you so badly."

Yuri finally came to her senses. "A-...Ausar...y-you...have...a god monster...living inside you?" she stuttered.

"It freaked me out at first too, Mrs. Mutou," Melody said.

Ausar nods. "Yea mom, I do." he said "You want to met Lord Slifer?"

"Wh-what?"

"I asked if you want to meet him, mom." said Ausar.

"...S-sure...I...s-suppose..."

Ausar smiled and closed his violet eyes. The necklace that he wears around his neck glowed a bit. When Ausar reopened his eyes they weren't violet anymore, but the yellow dragon color. Everyone waited anxiously and Yuri just stared, still not knowing what to think. "My deepest and dearest apologies for all the trouble I have caused you," Slifer said bowing to Grandpa and Yuri. Slifer then looked closer at Grandpa and then smiled. "Siamun. It has been a long time."

"Wh-who?"

"...Oh, I apologize. You must not remember."

"I'm afraid he does not," Yami added.

Slifer sighs softly. "A lot had changed in five thousand years..." he said.

Yami nodded. Yuri finally found her voice. "Th-thank you...for saving my son from the fire. ...And...thank you for protecting Yugi..."

Yuri and Grandpa notice that Ausar 'Slifer' looked a bit weak. "I-It's what...I do..."

Both smiled. Yami took notice of Slifer's weakness too. "Are you alright?"

"...I-I'm sorry my Pharaoh..." Slifer spoke softly "...I-I got to go... I-I'm feeling a bit weak again..." He closed his eyes and control returned to Ausar. Yuri and Grandpa looked confused.

"Slifer can only be in control for so long." Yami explain to them. They nodded, and there was a knock on the door.

"I wonder who there?" spoke Ausar once he was in control again.

"I'll get it," Yugi said. They watched as Yugi got to the door.

"Hello, chaps. Thought we could all go out to dinner. The family is welcome to come," said Will with the other band members behind him.

"Awww."

"Oh, how nice of you boys," Yuri replied.

"Let's go! I'm hungry!" Melody said.

"I don't know...I don't think you should get out of bed."

"...Please Dragon Boy?" she begged.

"I think it will be alright," Yugi said.

"It would be good for all of us to go," Yami said.

"I'd personally like to get to know you all," Grandpa said.

"You sure Melody? You sure you can handle it?"

"Come on chap, stop babying the poor girl." Ausar glared at Will.

"Please...?" Melody begged using her secret weapon. She looked like a kitten, her hands held together in front of her face as she blinked innocently.

N-not the Face...

"PL-EASE...?"

"Alright, alright. Let's go."

"Yeah!" Melody genki smiled.

"Hmm, that's some charm you've got there," Yuri said with a mischievous smile.

"Get's him every time," Melody giggled.

"Oh yeah?" Ausar said, his own mischievous smirk on his face. Melody squealed as he snatched her off the bed and into his arms, being careful of her injuries. She laughed and he smiled at her. "Now who has who?"

"Alright, alright. There's the little chap so enough with the mushy stuff."

"Yeah, let's go Ausar."

"Where though?" asked Yugi.

"We've got a nice place all picked out, little dude." Yugi smiled and everyone got ready. Ausar carried Melody out as they left to go eat.

They ended up at a very nice family restaurant in the heart of town. They were seated and given their drinks. They talked and joked as they waited for their food. "So, he gets up there, and he freezes. -bursts into laughter-"

"Yeah, the poor bloke was nervous."

"So...so Melody starts things off..."

"Hey! You were nervous too!"

"Alright boys, that's enough," Melody said. "We rocked the place to pieces didn't we?"

"Yeah...you're right, Sweetheart."

"...Yeah...Sorry, Melody."

"It's okay Dragon Boy."

"You guys WERE awesome."

"Yes, it was an exciting experience," Yami said agreeing with his hikari.

"Well, from what I hear, I'd love to see you play," Yuri said.

"Really mom? It might be a little much."

"Ausar Mutou! Your mother knew how to rock in her day," she retorted. Yugi and the others laughed, especially when she started "showing her moves". At that moment, the waitress showed up with their orders. They changed the subject and continued talking as they ate.

A little while later, things settled down a bit. "Dragon Boy? I have to go."

"Okay, I'll help you."

"Wait for me," Yugi said.

"I'll come help you Melody," Yuri said. So, Yugi, Yami, Ausar, Melody, Yuri, and Grandpa got up to go to the bathroom.

When they got out, Ausar felt someone staring at him and Yugi. He looked at them to find a boy a few years younger than him. He had a sinister look of satisfaction on his face. Ausar shivered and pulled Yugi close to him. "Brother?"

Something isn't right about that boy... Slifer said.

"Yugi stay close. I don't like the way that kid is looking at us." Yugi looked up confused.

"I sense it too," Yami agreed. Yugi grew worried, nuzzling against his brother a bit.

"We won't let anything happen to you," Ausar whispered to him as they walked back to their seats. Yuri emerged, helping Melody walk back. She noticed Ausar was acting oddly, being more protective of Yugi than usual. Melody didn't really notice, concentrating on getting back to the table. When they all sat back down, the conversation continued, but Ausar and Yami kept an eye out for that young teen.

It was soon time to go. Grandpa, the band, Melody and Yuri went to the bathroom one last time as Yugi, Yami, and Ausar headed outside to wait in the van. On the way, the worst thing happened. "Where're you off to so quickly, huh?" Ausar turned around, holding Yugi close. Yami climbed back out of the van, having sensed what was going on.

"Back to our hotel. What do you want?" Ausar demanded.

"What...you don't recognize me?"

"Wh-who...? I remember now. You're that kid from Juvie, a couple rooms down. What are you doing here?"

"Thought I'd check out the city, look up some old cellmates."

"...It has to be more than that. So much trouble to follow ME all the way to Tokyo."

"You're right. I'm here for much more. I didn't escape during my transfer to the Big House just to see you."

/G-get into the van Aibou.../

(...But Ausar...)

/Get In The Van/

"Yugi get in the car," Ausar demanded. Yugi ran scared into Yami's arms and they hid in the van.

"...Damn you're smart. I'll get him, after I get you!" he said withdrawing a dagger.

"...What's your problem! What did we do to you!"

"YOU KILLED MY FATHER YOU MURDERER!"

"...Y-your father! He tried to kill Yugi! What else was I supposed to do?!"

"You bastard! I'm gonna finish what he started! By starting with you!" He lunged at Ausar but he quickly evaded it.

"STAND STILL AND DIE MURDERER!"

"B-brother...?" Yugi asked peeking out.

"YOU LITTLE BRAT!" the boy cried grabbing Yugi's arm.

"Ahhh!"

"LAY OFF MY BROTHER!" Ausar cried, yellow dragon eyes emerging as Lord Slifer took full control as he had all those years ago.

"NO! BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOUR BROTHER MY FATHER'S DEAD!" Police sirens could be heard now. The boy pulled Yugi out of the van and held a dagger at him. Yami freaked out and stood powered up, ready to go.

"LET HIM GO NOW!" Slifer called pushing the boy to the ground and holding his own dagger at his throat. Yami pulled Yugi back inside the van and to safety. Grandpa, Yuri, Melody, and the band stood in awe, watching it all.

"Freeze, both of you!" Ausar came to his senses at that, Slifer slipping to the back of his mind.

"Wh-what...?" he said dropping the dagger.

"Both of you are under arrest for attempted murder and escaping from a prison transfer."

"NO! I WON'T GO BACK! LET ME GO!" the boy cried.

"...Wh-what's going on?" Ausar asked. Then he noticed the dagger and it all came back. "...Oh no..."

"Come along son, you're in a lot of trouble."

"...I...It happened again..." He was cuffed and led to the squad car.

"Ausar no!" Yugi cried trying to wrench out of Yami's grip.

"Dragon Boy!" Melody cried rushing over.

"Stay back!" the cops yelled.

"But he's innocent! That's my son!" Yuri said, fighting Grandpa's hold. Yugi finally broke free.

"Aibou!"

"I don't want you to go! I don't want you to be taken away from me again!" Yugi cried latching onto Ausar.

"Get back kid! He's going on trial for attempted murder!" Yugi was pushed away. He rushed over to Yami's arms, sobbing.

"I did it to protect you, brother! Know that!" Ausar cried as he was shoved into the car.

"DRAGON BOY! He's innocent! Don't you see he was trying to protect his brother!" Melody cried. She buried herself into Will as the car took both the boy and Ausar away.

The boy and Ausar were put in separate holding cells. Ausar sighed sadly as he sat down on the cold bench. The boy got his one phone call and was talking to his mother. I am sorry my vessel. I feared the worst...I am sorry...

It's alright...I did too. I'm just glad we didn't kill him this time. I couldn't live with it if I did.

Again, I am sorry... Ausar nodded.

"You get your phone call now, son." Ausar nodded and stood up. He called Melody's cell.

"Hello?"

"Melody, it's me."

"Dragon Boy! Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. I'm going to be going to the big house tomorrow."

"They can't! You're innocent and it was self defense!"

"I know, I know. It will have to be proven in court. They'll no doubt bring up that kid's father I killed. Listen, I'll be okay. Don't worry about me, baby."

"...I...I won't..." she said holding back tears.

"Put Yugi on for me." She nodded and handed over her cell.

"It's Ausar."

"Brother! Brother I miss you!" Yugi sobbed.

"I know, bro. I know you do. This has to get resolved in court. I have hopes that I'll get let go okay? Hang in there Yugi. You know why I did it. You know it was to protect you. Listen to mom, grandpa and the Pharaoh. Be good. I don't want to see you in here with me."

"...Ausar...I want us to be...to be together...I NEED you..."

"It's going to be okay bro. Hold on alright?"

"...Okay..."

"I got to go now. Tell mom and Gramps I love them. I love ya bro."

"...B-bye..." Yugi sobbed as he hung up the phone. Yuri went over to him.

"It's alright Yugi. We'll get him out. We're witnesses and darn it! We're going to testify for him."

"This only proves he was telling the truth. He WAS protecting you ten years ago," Grandpa said.

"...Aibou...We'll get him out. All of us." Yugi nodded weakly, in hysterics in Yuri's arms.

"...Dr-dragon Boy...-sob-"

"It's alright, Melody. You know we'll get the chap out of there," Will soothed.

"Alright, let's get back to the hotel. We need to recover from all this." Everyone agreed. Yuri picked Yugi up and got in the van with him. She had him in her lap as Yami sat beside her, both of them trying to calm Yugi down. Will did his best to help calm Melody. They drove off towards the hotel, Yugi and Melody falling asleep on the way.
