A/N: I know it's been like forever but I'm back. I'm not giving up on any of my stories, just trying to find inspiration and get over writers block. This chapter is short but we are about to get into the good stuff. To my fantastic readers, just bear with me I'm not abandoning any of my stories. I hope that you all enjoy the next chapter in Holding Out For A Hero.

"Wait a minute, wait a minute, what about Thor's hammer," Adam asked.

"Well, that doesn't come into the story until later," I explained.

"Like when," he questioned.

I thought for a bit, trying to exactly remember when we stumbled upon Thor's hammer. Everything that night seemed to blur together, I would have to focus on those events when we get to that part of the story.

"I guess, it was about a week when we stumbled upon the hammer. I can tell you this though, we weren't the only ones there," I explained.

"What do you mean," Tucker asked anxiously.

"Why don't I continue the story and you'll see what I'm talking about," I chuckled at their antics.

I studied the man knocked out before me. I could vaguely hear Darcy and Jane whispering back and forth to each other but I couldn't make out what they were saying. I was studying the man's face, the arch in his eyebrows, his long golden hair, and the scruff around his face. The angles of his cheeks and jaw just screamed masculinity. Truthfully, he was a gorgeous man and by the way he was acting, I'm sure he knew that he was gorgeous. I was brought out of my staring when Erik starting speaking to me.

"Don't worry my dear, I'm sure he'll be fine and we can get him home," Erik consoled me.

"Erik, Darcy tased him and even you don't look convinced that he is a sane person. I mean where did that man come from, we were the only ones out there," I stated.

"I'm not sure, but I know that there has to be a reasonable answer as to why this young man was out in the middle of the desert," he said.

I nodded my head and continued to stare at him as we rode on in silence. Before I realized it, we were pulling up to the County Hospital Emergency entrance. Jane and Darcy got out quickly and opened the door for Erik and I. I maneuvered myself to where I wouldn't hit the man and make things worse. Darcy left to get a nurse to help us move him. Two guys came out and helped Erik move him to a gurney. They wheeled him into a room but asked us to fill out his personal information.

I left that part up to my sister and took a step back while she dealt with all of that.

"Name," the nurse asked.

"He said it, was, uh, Thor," Jane replied unsure.

"T.H.O.R., "the nurse spelled out as she typed away on her computer.

"And your relationship to him," she asked.

"I've never met him before," Jane started.

"Until she hit him with her car," Darcy interrupted.

"I grazed him, but she tasered him," Jane rebutted back.

"Yes, I did," Darcy stated confidently.

"Is there any way that we could go see him," I spoke up from behind Jane and Darcy. They both looked at me like I lost my mind and Erik just looked confused.

"What? I just want to make sure that he's alright before we ditch him here," I stated.

"Ava, he could be a crazy person," Jane started.

"Or he could be just a lost man in need of some help," I interrupted.

"You will be able to see him once we have all of his information put in," the nurse stated.

I gave a small huff and walked away from the information desk. I started walking down the hall to where they took Thor. I quickly checked around me to make sure no one was around before peeking through the window. I could see Thor laying on a bed, still passed out and a male nurse walking around his bed. I checked around me one more time, just to be safe, before I slowly opened the swinging door and walked into the room.

"Wait a minute, you snuck into that room," Adam asked.

"Well it wasn't really a smart choice, since I broke the rules. However it was probably one of the better decisions I've made," I explained.

"How," Tucker asked.

"Why don't I continue and you'll see," I replied.

I walked in as softly as I could without drawing too much attention to myself. The male nurse looked up at me and gave me a small smile. As if to say, that it was okay for me to be in there. I walked toward Thor's bed as the nurse checked his vitals.

"Hi," the nurse said looking down. I was at the foot of Thor's bed and could see his eyes fluttering open.

"Just taking a little blood," the nurse said.

Thor's demeanor automatically went to one of frightened. But that was when the yelling started. Thor ripped his arm away from the nurse.

"How dare you attack the son of Odin," he shouted while sitting up and throwing his arms around.

"I need some help," the nurse yelled. A group of nurses suddenly swarmed around his bed. They tried to calm him down but it wasn't working out well for them. I knew that I needed to get him to calm down.

"Thor it's okay. Just stop fighting them," I said loudly for him to hear.

The more they tried to hold him down, the more he fought back. He pushed one nurse into the X-ray display board. I moved backed to avoid getting hit as I tried calling out to him again.

"Thor stop," I yelled.

"You got to go," one of the nurses yelled at me. He grabbed me by the arm and started pulling me out. I fought my way back to Thor, who was still throwing people around the room.

"No, please. Just let me try to calm him down," I yelled at the nurse.

"We will calm him down. We don't need you in here," he argued back.

"I'm not leaving so let. me. go," I hissed out trying to rip my arm away from his grip.

As I'm arguing with the nurse, Thor has thrown a few other nurses and I think a doctor around the room, I'm pretty sure one nurse ended up crashing into a cart full of medicine. I tried to take a step toward Thor but the nurse yanked me back again. I could feel his grip getting tighter around my arm. I knew from the pressure of his grip that I was going to have a serious bruise. Well that's going to be hard to explain to Jane.

"Let go of me, you're hurting me," I yelled as I yanked my arm again.

I'm not sure if that was what caught Thor's attention or not, but what happened after that was something very heroic of him. He grabbed the nurse around the neck and lifted him up. I could see that Thor was choking this nurse, his face was turning a shade of purplish red. He whispered something to the nurse and then threw him across the room. An older nurse came toward me and gently pushed me out of the room. I could still see Thor through the windows of the door. I watched as he threw a security guard into the wall. This caused more security guards and nurses to tackle Thor. The security guards and nurses pushed Thor against the window and I could see the fire in his ocean blue eyes.

"You are no match for the mighty," he started yelling. I wasn't sure what happened on the other side of the door but I saw Thor had stop talking and just fall into the door window. I took a step toward the door again, but a hand on my shoulder pulled me back.

"You, my dear, have one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen. And also one of the most rebellious minds I have ever seen, well your sister comes close," Erik stated.

I turned to look at him and gave him a small smile.

"Well I wouldn't be me if I didn't do something rebellious. What do you think's going to happen to him," I asked turning my head back to the doors.

"Well judging on what just happened I would think they are going to put him in the psych ward," Erik explained.

"You're not going to tell Jane about this are you," I asked softly.

"Of course not my dear, we don't need to worry her about this," he smiled at me.

I smiled back at him and turned away from the doors. Erik guided me back toward Jane and Darcy. They looked up at us and Jane gave me a questioning look. Before she could even question me, Darcy decided to speak up.

"Alright, I'm exhausted, can we go back home and sleep at least for a little while," she asked.

"Yea, let's get a few hours and then we can go over the data," Jane said.

I internally groaned, always focused on work. We never had any time to just relax and enjoy just one day off. Maybe with Thor literally landing in our laps we can take a few days away from all of Jane's research. We left the hospital in silence as Jane drove us "home". I looked out the window as she drove, looking at all the businesses in the small town of Puente Antiguo. The sun was starting to rise, letting me know that we spent a majority of our night/morning in the desert and hospital. The sky was turning the soft blue and pink showing us that a new day had begun. I could feel the exhaustion and the stress of the night catching up to me as we pulled up in front of our home. Our home being an abandoned building that somehow Jane convinced her university to set up for her research. It was a big, open room, with a kitchen and bathroom. Erik usually stayed in his trailer that was behind the building, along with Jane's trailer. Sometimes I bunked with Jane, but Darcy and I had our own rooms in the back of the building. Erik and Jane went off to their trailers, while Darcy and I made our way to our rooms exhaustion clearly on her face. She looked how I felt at the moment, like the walking dead.

"I'll wake you guys up in a couple of hours to go over the recordings," Jane shouted at us.

I didn't catch what Darcy said but I threw my arm up to show Jane that I heard her. Knowing my sister, a couple hours will mean a couple hours. Hopefully she'll over sleep and I won't have to kill her for waking me up from the very eventful night. I walked into my room and took a deep breath, calming my racing mind. I quickly changed into some sleep shorts and a t-shirt and gently touched my bruise. It was toward the top of my arm, it'll be easy to hide with shirt sleeves. The bruise already had a nice purple blueish color. I could see the finger indents from the nurse's hand. Damn, that guy had some serious grip on me. I laid down in my bed and my last thought before I drifted off was of Thor and what was in store for all of us.
