Will stood before the entrance of his home, frozen and staring, eyes full of surprise. For in front of him stood a numerous assortment of birds. These birds he knew, as they were friends from Rio. There was a toucan, a canary, a red cardinal, a black-billed magpie, A hyacinth macaw and two kites, plus a military macaw he had never seen before.

"Rafael!" he exclaimed at the toucan who was now looking back at him.

"William! How's life here in the Amazon?"

"Fine, I guess" Will answered. "How's the family back home?" he asked back.

"Good. Eva wanted to stay back with the kids, and Logan had some things to do. But we did get Andres on the way, and Lou managed to convince Bou to come along. Lilian didn't think twice about coming to see you, and neither did Nico and Pedro."

"Hey. If it isn't our favorite man-bird?" Nico commented. Will glared angrily at him for using that name.

"Don't. Call. Me. That" he growled through his closed beak. Nico nervously laughed and quickly moved behind Pedro.

"S-sorry." Will turned his frown into a smile.

"Good." Without warning, Lilian picked him up in a strangling hug.

"Will! It's been so long!" The others, except Larissa, stifled a laugh as they saw Will's eyes bulging, almost like they would pop out at any moment. Larissa tried to hide a frown, but it was hard to hide it. though it was lucky for her that everyone was focused on Will. She walked out without another word with no one noticing her. Everyone except Mema, but she shrugged it off.

"L-Lil. Could y-you p-put me d-down? C-can't b-breath." She noticed how hard he was and put him down. He fell to his knees, gasping for air. "Thank...you."

"You're welcome." Will saw a pair of talons next to him, then a green wing with a red outline along the bottom stretched down. Will grabbed hold of it and was pulled up by the unknown military macaw. He was mostly green, with brown eyes and a small spike of feathers on his head. He was at least half a head taller than William, and his wings a quarter longer than his.

"Thanks."

"No problem" he said with what Will recognized as an Australian accent.

"Hey, you're from Australia, right?" he asked curiously. The bird nodded.

"It's the accent, isn't it? Yeah, everyone figures that out. Name's Cody. I'm a friend of Blu's, and I heard you are as well." Will nodded at the question. "I thought so. So is it true?" Will thought he meant about him being human, and felt suddenly uncomfortable.

"Umm..uhh..." He looked to the others who were equally surprised by the question.

"Hey, no reason to be ashamed by it. You see, I'm a pet too." Seeing he meant pet, Will let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Oh. Yes, I am. Though I haven't been with my 'companion' in a long time."

"Well, mine is here. You see, her and Linda are the best of friends, and my companion decided she wanted to come here and work with her, so I guess that I'm here to stay as well."

"That's good for you. If you want, I can show you where Blu lives. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you." He nodded, and Will started for the exit when the last of the friends got in his way.

"Hey! You aren't forgetting me, are ya?" the magpie asked.

"Sorry, Andres. I missed you too." They slapped wings, then shook them.

"Hey, you mind if I come?"

"Not at all. Let's go and see what Blu's up to." They walked out onto the branch and took off. Cody and Andres stayed close behind Will as they approached Blu's hollow. As they landed, Jewel came out at the sound of wings beating. She arched a brow, as if expecting someone else.

"Will. Nice to see you again. Wait, let me guess. You want to know where Blu is" she guessed. "Am I right?"

"Am I really that predictable?" he asked back sheepishly. She nodded with a smirk across her beak.

"He's at the falls with the kids." She glimpsed a mass of black feathers and saw Andres behind Will. "Andres? Well, I didn't expect you to come by. What are you doing here?"

"I came with the others. They're all at Will's hollow."

"Oh. May as well go and say hi." She lifted off the branch and headed towards Will's home. "See you later!" Will went off in the other direction with Cody and Andres not too far behind. They arrived later at the falls. Will looked back to see the other two were stunned by the scenery. The light shining from the clear blue water, with blue birds flying around and the falls going over the tall rock cliffs.

"Wow" they both whispered.

"This is amazing. Now I see why Blu likes it here so much." As Cody looked around, something caught his eye. An adult macaw was sitting on a low hanging branch above the water, watching three chicks skid along the water on lily pads. He didn't know why, but this macaw seemed familiar. It wasn't until the macaw turned that he recognized him. "Blu!" he charged straight down, and before Blu could react, he was taken into the water. Will and Andres burst into laughter as he came up to the surface, flailing around.

"Help! Help! I'm drowning!"

"Um, dad? The water's shallow" Bia, the smart one, piped up. Blu stopped flailing around and stood up, his feathers dripping wet.

"Oh." He looked around to see multiple others staring at him with weird looks. He nervously laughed and hid his red face with his wing. He muttered something, then heard someone behind him.

"Still the same nervous bird. I thought as much." Blu turned slowly to see Cody before him. "Long time no see, wingman."

"Cody?! What are you doing here?!" he asked out of surprise. Cody shrugged.

"Not much. Caitlin came to work with Linda, and now I'm here. Now how about a proper greeting?" he said with a grin. Blu knew what he meant and put his wings up in defense. Before he could protest, Cody wrapped a wing around his chest and turned him around, then used his other wing in a movement Will recognized.

"No! Not that!" Will laughed more as he watched Cody noogie Blu on his head.

"Don't bother trying to resist. You should have seen it coming!" Blu's kids laughed as well and the youngest one, Tiago, laughed so hard, he fell back off his pad. That only made his siblings laugh harder. After a few more moments, Cody let go of Blu, who in turn fell forward back into the water. Cody lifted him back up and gave him a hard pat on the back.

"I guess neither of us have changed much" Blu said.

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Actually, there is one other thing. Watch this!" Blu shook himself off until he was dry enough before launching himself into the air and went into a series of swift flight movements. Cody watched on in bafflement, entirely surprised by his friend who seems to have changed more than he believed.

"Well then, it's about time" he called up to him. Blu hovered down back onto the branch he was on before.

"Anything you have to surprise me with?" Cody shook his head.

"Nah. Nothing new, except that I've moved homes. I'm living in that sanctuary building now."

"Really? I'll have to remember to visit you. So, how had Minnesota been?" They dragged on into conversation, but Will's gaze was drawn to something else. He looked closely at what had caught his eye, and saw an old looking owl looking over at him. And just as it had appeared, it was gone, in the blink of an eye. He flet a tap on his shoulder and turned to see Andres.

"Hey. You alright?"

"Yeah. I just..never mind. We should start heading back. I'm sure Cody will be fine here."

"I'm with you." They took off, unaware of the large owl still watching them from a distance.
