Hi guys this back story idea takes place the night before Anabel's birthday.

Delia was walking towards the best restaurant in the Indigo Plateau feeling incredibly nervous. She was nervous because hadn't dated anyone since she had married Ash's father twenty three years ago. The fact that she hadn't dated in so long was making her question whether this was a good idea. She looked over herself and started to doubt that she would be attractive enough for him.
'What if he's disappointed when he sees me?'
She shook away the thought and carried on walking. She wouldn't give in to fear. After a few minutes she arrived at the restaurant and walked inside.
"Good evening madam. Do you have a reservation?" one of the waiters asked.
"Well I don't. I am supposed to be meeting a man here tonight." Delia replied.
"What would the gentleman's name be madam?"
"I don't actually know his real name. We know each other by messages using fake names. His name was Valandil Vanimedlë and mine was."
"Gilrean Fëfalas." the waiter interrupted.
"Yes. How did you know?"
"Because Mr Vanimedlë has been waiting for you."
"Has he been waiting long?"
"Yes he has. Wait here and I shall tell him that you have arrived."
Delia nodded and watched as the waiter walked into the main part of the restaurant. A few minutes later the waiter returned.
"If you would follow me I will take you to him."
Delia followed the waiter into the restaurant. She looked around and saw a few tables where a lone man was sat. Suddenly one of the men stood up and started walking towards her. He stood just over six foot tall and he had shoulder length dark brown hair. He was clean shaven and had a gentle heart warming smile on his face. His eyes were what really caught her attention though. They looked almost like silver and they shimmered in the light. Delia didn't know why but she blushed as she saw the rather handsome man headed her way. He came to a stop in front of her and smiled.
"Gilrean it is a pleasure to meet you at last." the man said.
A shiver ran down Delia's spine. Arceus she loved his voice. She hadn't know what to expect but she certainly hadn't expected him to have such a rich baritone voice.
"It is a pleasure to meet you to Valandil."
Valandil smiled and looked her up and down. He was amazed at the beautiful woman that stood before him. The black dress she was wearing was elegant but at the same time it accentuated her natural curves. He loved the way her silky smooth auburn hair fell down her shoulders and he was transfixed by her bright amber eyes. Had she not said so in one of her messages he would never have believed that the woman before him was over forty.
"May I say that you look absolutely ravishing."
Delia's blush intensified.
"T-thank you." she stuttered back.
"Allow me to introduce myself my real name is Chris Foley."
"Mine is Delia Ketchum."
"That is a beautiful name you have Delia. Would you care to join me for dinner."
"I would love too join you Chris."
Chris offered Delia his arm which she quickly took and he lead her to the table he had been sat at. He pulled out a chair and Delia took a seat. Chris then sat down opposite her. The waiter from before approached and without saying a word he poured them both a glass of wine and left the bottle. There were no menu's as Chris had ordered for them in advance. He didn't want there to be any interruptions from wait staff aside from the bringing and clearing of the courses. They both took a sip of the wine and placed the glasses back on the table.
"I'm glad that we've finally met in person. I was worried when I asked if you would like to meet in person. I thought you might think that I was trying to push things." Chris said.
"I was relieved when you asked. I had been thinking the same thing for a little while. I just hope your not disappointed."
"On the contrary I am astounded that someone as beautiful as you would show interest in me."
Delia blushed and took a moment to gather her thoughts.
"You give yourself so little credit. You are a very handsome man."
"Thank you. So how are you Delia?"
"I am fine thank you. I'm sorry I haven't messaged you over the past couple of weeks. But things have been a bit crazy."
"That's fine. After everything you went through I'm surprised that you even agreed to meet me when you'd never even seen me before."
"We've been talking for over six months now. As crazy as it may sound I trust you."
"I'm happy to hear that."
Delia picked up her glass and took another sip from it. Chris watched as she sipped her wine and could feel his heart pounding. Delia noticed him and blushed also feeling her heart pounding. A shy smile then appeared on her face and he smiled back warmly. Delia had to admit that she was beginning to enjoy his gaze. As they sat there Delia could almost feel Chris' eyes move over her. From her eyes to her nose. Then to her cheeks and her lips. His gaze lingered on her bare neck for a moment and then moved to the slope of her shoulders. She was half expecting him to turn his gaze to her chest but was pleasantly surprised when his gaze fell upon her face again. As they kept talking they barely noticed the waiter as he placed the first course between them. It was nothing special just a simple plate of fruit and cheese. Delia smiled and felt slightly flattered that Chris had remembered that she liked the various fruits and cheeses that were on the plates.
"I hope you don't mind that I ordered for you." Chris said.
"I don't mind at all. Everything looks delicious."
Silence took over as they started to eat their starters. It wasn't an awkward silence, it was the kind that only two people who felt completely comfortable around each other could have. Between bites Chris gazed at Delia as she ate, calmly bringing each morsel to her lips. He marvelled at the pleasure she took from each bite. Her face was amazingly expressive. Every bite looked as if she was tasting the food for the first time. When they finished the started the waiter returned and took their plates away.
"So did you enjoy that?" Chris asked.
"It was lovely. Thank you for remembering." Delia replied.
Chris smiled warmly at Delia.
"I glad that you enjoyed it. I hope that the rest of the courses will be to your liking."
"I have no doubt that they will be.
Silence took over once more as the main courses arrived. A plate of spaghetti bolognese was placed in front of Chris and a lasagne was placed in front of Delia. While they ate their meals they stole glances at one another between bites. Both of them blushed when they realised that they had been caught. Once their meals were gone the waiter came and removed the plates.
"Chris if you don't mind can I ask you a question?"
"Of course Delia."
"Well I was wondering why a sweet, handsome man like you is single."
"I could ask why a beautiful, charming woman such as yourself is single also."
Delia blushed at the compliment. Chris then sighed.
"The truth is that after my wife Jessica died ten years ago I never wanted to be in another relationship."
Delia briefly looked down sadly. She had a pretty good idea where this was going now and it was not how she wanted it to go. She had been hoping that there was a chance of something more than friendship but it would appear that would not be the case. Chris saw the saddened look come to Delia's eyes and felt a glimmer of hope that she might want the same thing as him.
"But then we started exchanging messages. After a month or so I found myself looking forward to speaking with you. There have been many days that I have rushed through my work so I could speak to you."
He smiled as he saw her eyes brighten again. He took her hands in his and was relieved when he felt Delia intertwine their fingers. They both looked from their locked hands to each other and smiled.
"I know this might sound crazy Delia. But I have gradually come to care for you more and more over the months to the point that I feel like I can't go on without you. I will completely understand if you leave when I say this as this will seem sudden but I-I've fallen for you."
He closed his eyes and was sure he would feel Delia's dainty hands pull away from his. He was surprised when he felt her grip tighten. He looked at Delia and saw her smiling brightly at him.
"I'm not going anywhere Chris. I feel the same way."
They spotted the waiter coming with the desserts and they pulled apart. The waiter placed a slice of toffee cheesecake in front of both of them and left. Chris and Delia ate their desserts and after quickly paying left the restaurant.
They walked down the high street enjoying each other's presence. The lights of the Indigo Plateau illuminated the streets making everything look far more beautiful than usual. Nearby Mewtwo was stood in the shadows. He had trailed Delia and Chris all night to make sure she was safe. His distrust in humans and his desire to keep Delia safe made him infiltrate Chris' mind throughout the night to make sure that everything he had said was true. To his surprise everything Chris said was one hundred percent genuine. Mewtwo kept following Delia and Chris until they got back to Delia's hotel. They came to a stop and Chris kissed Delia's hand.
"I really enjoyed tonight Delia."
"So did I Chris."
Delia saw that for the first time tonight Chris appeared to be nervous.
"Chris are you okay?"
"Yes. I-I was just w-wondering if you w-would you like to do this again sometime?" Chris stammered.
Delia leant forward and gently placed a kiss on Chris' cheek.
"I'd love to. How about you pick me up from here tomorrow at seven?"
"That sound great. Until tomorrow then goodnight Delia. I hope Cresselia blesses you with sweet dreams."
"Goodnight Chris."
Delia walked to the front door of the hotel. She opened and after giving Chris a small wave she entered the hotel. Chris then started walking towards his hotel eagerly anticipating seeing Delia again tomorrow. Mewtwo seeing that his work was done Teleported back to his Pokéball. He could inform Ash of what happened during his mother's date in the morning.
Notes
I went through many options for who Delia would date (for a while Scott was a contender) but I chose an OC in the end.
My love of Lord of the Rings created the names for Delia and Chris
