Thank you all so much for staying with this, reviewing and/or fave/following. Cheers :) Hope it's not too bad...
Whispering Shadows. Chapter 7: Ash Like Snow…
Allen's grey eyes were wide as he stared at Tyki, his own golden orbs just as wide as their eyes locked, the white haired exorcist watched as fear began to take over Tyki's face as he looked down and saw Cross standing but the doorway – the Noah looked as though he wanted nothing more than to run and hide. Is he…is he scared of General Cross? Allen frowned slightly before he finally realised he was still on top of Tyki and gasped.
"I'm so sorry!" Allen squeaked before backing away, leaving the older man unprotected.
"Well, well, well…" Allen snapped his head towards the door and saw Cross standing there with a smirk marrying his face. "I knew you liked this Noah, boy, but I didn't know you liked him that much…"
A blush covered Allen's cheeks as he backed away from Tyki.
"W-Walker…" Tyki's voice was soft, but held a certain amount of fear running throughout it as he glanced at Cross and then back at the youngest male in the room.
Before Allen could reassure Tyki that everything was going to be okay, Cross began to talk again, acting as though he hadn't heard the Noah speak. "Lenalee didn't seem that pleased when I passed her in the hallway, not that many people are happy with knowing there's a Noah here…" His tone turned deadly and Allen gulped, he knew that Cross wasn't happy either – it was obvious – but he couldn't help but think it was odd. He knew the Black Order, or mainly the General's would have loved to have a Noah at their disposal so they could try and find the Earl and end this war once and for all.
However, something about the way Cross was looking at Tyki and how said male crawled back into the bathroom and hid behind the one wall – no doubt curling up into a ball. It was all very strange…
"Perhaps we should talk…" Cross said but he wasn't giving Allen much of a choice, it was more like a demand then a question. "Without your new friend present…"
Slowly, Allen nodded his head before standing up and peeking into the bathroom, seeing Tyki curled up into a ball in the corner, his whole form shaking as he wrapped his arms tighter around his knees. …Tyki… Allen looked down sadly, he wanted nothing more than to go and hold Tyki to make sure he was okay for some reason... Something about Cross being there set the Noah on edge, but the grey haired exorcist couldn't blame him – Cross was an imposing figure – and definitely powerful…
"Tyki…" Allen waited for the other male to look up, and slowly a pair of stunning, golden eyes glanced at him through long locks of dark brown hair that covered his face. "There are clothes out here for you when you want them. I'm just going to talk with General Cross, but I'll be back in a little while…okay?"
Allen never got an answer, or even a nod of the head as Tyki simply turned his face away.
Reaching out a hand, Allen stopped himself from touching the dark haired man and sighed heavily before turning back to Cross who was now standing by the door, holding it open as Allen slowly walked through it – expecting his General to follow – but what he didn't see was the glare that came from the taller male. His eyes sharp as he looked towards the bathroom, almost taking a step forwards had it not been for Allen to speak to him.
Scoffing slightly Cross closed the door and began walking a long side his former apprentice.
Inside the bathroom, Tyki allowed the tears to fall from his eyes as he looked outside of the room, glancing at the door where Allen and Cross had gone through. He should have known better; no place was safe…Not for him…
Road believed that she was a smart girl, she didn't take anything lightly no matter how childish she may have looked or acted; but this mission baffled her in more ways than one. It was strange, very strange in fact that she, of all Noah's, was sent on a mission to find another Noah.
"Tyki…" Road let the name of her sibling fall from her lips as she throw a ruby red apple into the air before catching it in her hand. "Where are you…?"
"Miss Road's!"
The young looking Noah rolled her eyes as she turned to see one of the Akuma who had been appointed to her as she looked for Tyki.
"What?!" She snapped, not really wanting an Akuma of all things to be with her on this mission.
The Akuma jumped back before bowing slightly, earning a glare from Road.
"Do you want to cause a scene?" She asked with a sigh.
"N-no!" The Akuma began to apologies.
"Just get on with it…" Road interrupted half way through the Earl's creations ramblings.
"I-I believe we have a lead on Lord Tyki Mikk."
"I'm listening…"
"Do you think it's wise to have a Noah here, Allen?"
Walking side by side, Allen looked up at his General and nodded his head. "He need's protecting –"
"A Noah needing protecting? Don't make me laugh…" Red hair bounced up and down slightly as they continued to walk forwards down the hallway.
"He does!" Allen protested, his grey eyes turning sharp as he looked at Cross. "I don't care what people say, I'm protecting him no matter what!"
"And just who are you protecting him from?!" Cross growled, his eyes holding uncertainty, which is something Allen didn't miss.
"His family…" He watched as Cross' shoulders seem to lose some tension.
"What if he turns against you once he's strong enough? He's a killer, Allen…They are nothing other than murderers, they're no better than Akuma…"
Allen didn't even realise his fists were clenched up so tight that his nails cut into his skin and drew blood, even his innocence wanted to activate for some unknown reason.
"He will kill you if you give him the chance –"
Allen turned to Cross abruptly. "It's my decision to have Tyki here, his my responsibility and I will look after him – he won't hurt anyone –"
"How can you be so sure?!" It was a simple question, one that Allen wanted to answer, and he did.
"Because he's Tyki, he might be a Noah, but he's still human..." In away, at least.
Tyki sat on the single bed after putting on some clothes that were a bit too small for his liking, but with them being the only thing for him to wear, he had put them on. His hair, however, was still a mess, more knotted than ever before; it was like a used mop had been placed on his head. His eyes were red and puffy still, though he had stopped crying which he was thankful for and had wiped away any smears of teardrops that had been on his cheeks.
"Tyki..."
The Noah snapped his head up as he heard a voice, even though it was only in his head and he knew it. Standing up quickly, ignoring the dizzy spell that over came him, Tyki walked towards the window in the room. Seeing the sky above crying as rain poured down, an uneasy fog beginning to surround the Order; something was coming, he could tell, when and what though...He didn't know.
"You can't hide forever..."
Tyki jumped back suddenly as he saw the reflection from the glass of the window, his eyes becoming wide as he backed up and almost fall onto the bed; his head pounding so hard he felt as though it was being ripped in two.
"You are mine and mine alone -"
Tyki fall to his knees as he gripped his hair, holding tightly onto his head as pain ran throughout his body, his teeth gritted so hard blood began to sweep from his mouth. He couldn't help but cry out as million of whispers of the same thing ran through his head over and over again; you're mine...
Suddenly there was a knock on the door and everything stopped.
Almost falling over completely in relief, Tyki looked up at the door as it began to open, wiping the blood from his face with the back of his hand - only to come face to face with Lenalee and two men as they stepped into the room.
The tormented Noah closed his eyes, a single tear drop rolling down his cheek as a name passed his lips.
"Allen..."
Allen sighed as he ran a hand through his hair before looking up at the ceiling sadly. Cross had departed from their small chat and went to speak with Komui, leaving the white haired exorcist to his thought's which were mainly on a certain Noah. A pang ran through his heart as he thought about Tyki being alone, he needed someone, and even if most people doubted Allen's judgment; he would be there for Tyki. Something just drew him to the injured male, he couldn't explain it, but it broke his heart whenever he saw how hurt he truly was.
A small smile graced his lips as a sudden thought came. If Tyki was up to it, he'd bring him down to have something to eat, of course there would be many other exorcist's and even Finder's, but it would be a step; one that Tyki didn't have to make alone. Allen would be there for him every minute.
Allen suddenly glanced up as he heard voices coming from his room, the door now open. His heart stopped for a moment and he struggled to control his blood that began to boil at the thought of someone trying to hurt Tyki. Doubling in pace, Allen came to a sudden halt as he heard who's voice it belonged to and just what she was saying...
Lenalee stood in the room, staring at Tyki, or more like glaring at him. By the door stood Kanda and Lavi, both leaning against the door frame with their hands on their weapons just in case, though their eyes were more on the girl rather than the bronzed skinned Noah.
"I can't forgive you..." She said her glare increasing. "Everyone here is like my family, and you killed them without a second thought!" Lenalee closed her eyes tightly as she felt tears beginning to come, but there was one thing she wouldn't do and that was cry in front of a Noah.
"You're nothing but a cold hearted murderer!" She yelled "...But I spoke to Komui, we all did..." Lavi nodded a little while looking down at the ground sadly, Kanda just looked away. "He wasn't going to tell us, but we forced it out of him, we heard what happened to you..."
All Tyki could do was looked at the floor, unable to make eye contact.
"Don't think I pity you," her voice was hard and Tyki couldn't help but glance up for a short moment. "But I know Allen...And he trust's you for some reason, and I trust him. I can't forgive you," she croaked out again. "But I trust Allen, and if he wants you here, then you're staying - but if you hurt any single one of my family again - I will hold nothing back - I will kill you." For the first time, their eyes met.
"...Thank you..." Tyki breathed, he didn't know what else to do or say. Why were they helping him? ...after everything he had done to them?
"Don't thank me, Noah; I didn't do it for you..." Lenalee stood up while Lavi and Kanda came closer.
"If you hurt Allen," Lavi started.
"I'll chop your head off." Kanda finished and they all headed towards the door. "Don't you dare tell Bean-Sprout I said that." The blue haired exorcist growled out before leaving.
Allen smirked as they came into view, seeing Kanda flush slightly before looking away. Lavi patted his back.
"You hungry?"
"Starved!" Allen said and Lenalee rolled her eyes.
"You always are." She muttered before walking ahead.
"Come grab something to eat -" Lavi said before Kanda butted in.
"He has a certain thing to look after, remember?" Sharp eyes glanced towards Allen's room.
Lavi shrugged his shoulders. "Bring him down too -"
"Are you insane?" Kanda pulled on Lavi's red hair, earning a yelp from the hammer wielder as he was dragged down towards the food hall.
'I might just do that, Lavi...' Allen chuckled slightly before entering his room, seeing Tyki on the floor he moved closer, holding out a hand and giving his warmest smile.
"We might not be the strongest or the smartest, but we have heart." Allen's smile grew as Tyki looked up. "Would you like to accompany me to dinner?"
Slowly, Tyki lifted his hand and placed it into Allen's awaiting one before being pulled up, blushing a little at how close they were. Why did he feel…safe…now that Allen was here? Was it true...Had he been spending too much time with the humans? Was he just as weak as them?
Could he even call himself a Noah anymore?
Road listened to the rain that danced across a window in a small inn she had decided to come into to wait out the weather. She looked outside of it; the fog around the town was less than pleasing to see, temporarily stopping her search. Glancing down at her hand which still held a red apple in, she smiled.
"I'm close..." Road once again looked out the window.
What have you done, Tyki...?
Sorry about all the mistakes and please review if you want me to continue. :)
