"Bro-brothers." Danny repeated. "Brothers?!"
"Looks like the computer wasn't lying." Bones said in a monotone voices, not knowing the effect this information had on Danny.
Chekov didn't say anything. He just watched Danny- his brother- sadly. He didn't know what to do. Comfort him? Apologize for being related?
Danny just stood there, shell shocked, but then, he ran from the room.
"DAN...ny." He reached out. He was about to go after him, but changed him mind. Chekov is sure that he'd be the last person Danny would want to see right now. Instead, he slowly walked back to the bridge. On break of not, he needed to clear his head, he needed a distraction; and what better way to distract yourself than work? However, no matter how distracted he was, noting could stop him from feeling the pain of being rejected by his biological family... again.
Danny tore through the corridors, ignoring the confused looks he received from the people he passed by. He charged into his bedroom, and slumped against the wall. He slid to the ground, wrapped his arms around his legs, and pulled them to his chest. He rested his head against his knees, and let out shaky sobs, which quickly turned into heavy crying.
'It's not fair!' Danny thought to himself, 'Why did he get a loving family?! Why was I stuck with an abusive father who has more alcohol in him than a liquor store?! Why did I have to suffer for so long, when he's proof that I could of had a good life if I wasn't stuck with him for a father?!'
Danny stayed in his sorry state for half an hour, feeling nothing but self pity and loathing, when suddenly, he stopped his crying, and looked up. He rubbed his eyes, and jumped to his feet.
"Computer! I need information!" He wiped his face clean of his tears, and swallowed hard.
"Ready." The computer responded.
"What was the cause of death of Olivia Wood?" Danny's heart pounded.
"Searching... Search complete." This one bit of information could change everything. Danny prayed that his suspicion was not true.
"Cause of death:" Danny held his breath, "child birth."
