Monday.
Finally.
Everyone was upset, maybe because it was the algebra test, maybe because it was the beginning of the week, but Rachel Berry strode down the halls of McKinley High with confidence and excitement for what was going to happen that week. She would finally live her best week of school. But there was one little problem.
"Hey, Emily, what´s up?"
Yep. She was still pretending to be Emily Harrison, but she had to. Today was her date with Finn Hudson, the quarterback of the football team. She knew it was rare for someone like her to date someone like him, so she couldn´t let this go.
Rachel saw Quinn by the end of the hall. She was with someone, though she couldn´t really see his face. He turned around and walked away, the blonde Cheerio following him, and Rachel realized the guy was Sam Evans. Quinn´s boyfriend. Since she didn´t want to bother Quinn and Sam, seeing Sam´s angry expression, she kept walking and saw Santana. She rolled her eyes and walked next to Rachel.
"Hi, 'Emily'," she said, making air quotes.
"What are you doing, Santana?" Rachel was nervous. She did want to talk to her about the whole band thing, but what if Santana said something?
"I won't say anything," Santana answered her thoughts. "This will make you more popular. Santana Lopez's new best friend! By tomorrow guys will be drooling for you."
"Thanks but no thanks." Rachel thought about Finn. She would rather date him than any other guy.
"Why not?"
"Santana, I am not dressing as a Cheerio to get guys, I just needed to crash that party and see who could sing well."
"Oh, yeah? Then why are you still wearing your costume?" Santana asked suspiciously.
"Kurt told me to." Rachel said quickly.
"Yeah, I'm sure Lady Hummel wants you to get his precious copy of our uniform dirty." Sarcasm was clear in Santana's voice, but Rachel just wondered how she knew about Kurt not wanting to get the outfit dirty. She shrugged the thought off– maybe Kurt was too predictable. "Berry, who is it, then?"
Rachel was confused. "What?"
Just then, Finn walked past them, smiling at Rachel. Rachel smiled back, or at least tried to. "I knew it!" Santana squealed. "It's Finn, isn't it?"
"How did you know?"
"Always trust my third mexican phsychic eye.
The brunette was angry at her... Friend? Probably because she didn't want Santana to know. She didn't want anyone to know."Lower your voice, Santana, someone's going to hear you!"
"Yeah, I don't care, and neither should you. It will go public anyway." Santana told Rachel, and she rolled her eyes.
"Well, I didn't want to talk about that with you. It's just... When is the Cheerios' nationals?"
"This Thursday."
"And classes end on Friday! Yay!" Rachel grinned.
"Oh no..." Santana knew what was coming.
"What means summer is starting in five days!"
"What means we'll start the band thingy in six days. Yaay." Santana said ironically.
Rachel sighed. "Seriously, I want you and Brittany to be there, but ifyou don't want to, I'll just feel like a bigger loser than I already am. Just say the truth. If you love singing and don't want to admit it, do it for once. If you hate it and for some unknown reason you're not quitting, tell me. I'm just fed up of everyone lying to me."
She walked away, and Santana immediately know there was no turning back. She had to tell Rachel the truth. But first, she had to find out what it was herself.
"Please, Sam..."
Quinn had tears in her eyes. Sam was looking at her angrily. They were standing outside, where the Cheerios should be practicing in about an hour. But on the meantime, Quinn and Sam were dealing through a rough break-up.
"Why? Just tell me... Why did you just have to hurt me?"
The Cheerio sobbed one more time. She had made a mistake, and she knew it. "I'm really sorry. Please, forgive me..."
"No, Quinn, I've had enough. I had this feeling you didn't really feel like I do... It turns out I was right. But why didn't you just tell me? Instead, you had to cheat on me?"
"Sam, I am really sorry, you don't know how much I regret what happened!" That was true. She regretted every single thing she had done.
"I don't believe you." This time, he was crying too.
"Why?" Quinn continued crying, but not because she didn't want anyone to be angry at her, but because she hated herself for doing that to Sam. She hated seeing him hurt. Quinn loved Sam, just not as a boyfriend.
"I can't."
He walked away as she couldn't help but cry more. She failed to notice Santana coming her way, until she was two meters far from her.
"Hey..." She said. "What happened?"
The blonde just sobbed again, and Santana hugged her. "Did you tell him?"
There was no need for that. "He found out by himself."
"How?" She sat down, Santana sitting next to her.
It hurt to just think of it. It hurt to know she could be like that. But Santana, out of all people, had to know. A tear fell down Quinn's cheek as she remembered everything...
"Santana, I... I can't continue with this." Quinn was worried, and Santana seemed like the best person who could gve her advice.
"Just tell him everything," the Latina said.
"I don't want to hurt him. I never really loved him... I just needed to move on..."
Santana was holding back one question, but because she knew Quinn was too upset to answer: 'move on from whom?'
"Then you'll need to break up. If you don't feel the same he feels, and you don't tell him, you will never be happy."
"I can't... I want to, but I just can't..."
"Sooner or later, it will happen, Quinn. You know it."
Quinn was sitting on a park bench, laughing with some guy who she had only met that day. His name was Kyle, he was 22 and really hot.
"Hey, I've got to go, see you tomorrow?" The two of them had arranged to meet at Lima Bean.
Without thinking, Quinn pulled him into a kiss, and when she was about to try making out, he pulled away.
"I-I have a g-girlfriend..." he said nervously and left. Quinn assumed they would ot meet at Lima Bean.
She wondered why he had acted so strange. And then, realization dawned on her. What if he possibly knew... No, it couldn't happen. How could Kyle have seen Sam? 'I have a girlfriend...'Why did he ask me out then? Quinn asked herself.
"Maybe for the same reason you did."
Quinn had no need to turn around. She gasped as she recognized the voice: and almost immediately she knew she had made a huge mistake.
Fabrevans break-up...ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh
