Later they are sitting on the porch overlooking the lake. Susan has just brought out a picture of lemonade. When Nighttress asks "What are you guys doing here, vacationing or something?" Everyone goes quiet; Nighttress rests her chin on her folded hands, her eyes scanning their faces. "There is a story here, isn't there?"

Jonny is the first to break the silence. "Well um I, a, kind of, you see I well."

"He bought the Baxter Building right from under us," says Richard while shooting Jonny with a glare. Nighttress is obviously trying to keep a straight face and not burst out laughing.

She finally says with a hint of amusement. "I did not know Jonny had that much money."

"He doesn't," says a gruff voice. Everyone turns to the sliding glass door where the Thing stands. "That's why we're here."

Nighttress gives a small chuckle as she leans back on her chair, so it stands on its back legs. She crosses her arms and says. "Jonny, let me tell you the first rule of thieving. Never underestimate the one you are stealing from and never overestimate your abilities, or in this case funds. Because this," she gestures with her hand at everything around her, "is what happens. Well, technically you go to jail, that is if they catch you." She shrugs her shoulders and laughs. Everyone stares at her, well Thing glares at her; they are shocked by the way she acted.

Seeing this she stands up and makes a pitiful excuse. "Um, well a, if you all will excuse me, I um, I am, hehe." Nighttress tries to go through the door but Ben will not let her.

"Ben," Nighttress cries out, "let me pass!"

"No, not until you tell me why you are here!"

Nighttress sighs, "The X-men and my cousin were kidnapped by a man," she sighs again, "who experiments on mutants." A gasp of shock and horror comes from Susan. "He also kidnapped The Brotherhood," Nighttress says this in a less concerned tone.

"What are we doing sitting around here," Jonny yells as he jumps up knocking his seat down in the process. "Let's go get them!"

"Jonny!" Nighttress yells, "I arrived here twenty minutes ago, it is 5 o'clock in the evening!" Nighttress continues to yell, waving her arms everywhere. "I cannot fly in the dark, the only thing I have in that," she points at her plane, which they can see from the porch, "is a GPS! I cannot fly at night!" Nighttress takes a deep breath and says in much calmer tones. "It is going to take us a good deal of the day to get to them. We also need to pack and have a plan, but since you already know, we could start now."

They pack and plan, when the clock strikes twelve they all go to bed, they are going to get an early start.

Nighttress was having a hard time sleeping so she decides to take a walk down to the docks. As she approaches the dock she notices a figure sitting on the edge, she walks up to the figure, realizing that it was the Thing. "Is it ok if I sit here?"

Thing turns to look at her and shrugs, "It's a free country," he answers gruffly.

Nighttress flops down next to him; she turns to look at him. "So why are you mad at me and why do the other three seem to be wary of me? You're not still mad at me about the Dr. Doom and Magneto incident are you?" Nighttress takes on a light tone when saying this, like she is talking about the weather.

"You betrayed us," Thing says angrily.

"Well, actually Doom betrayed me and Magneto, and really how was I supposed to know he would do that after all earth was being attacked by aliens." Thing opens his mouth to argue but Nighttress cuts him off before he can. "Look Richard could not do it in time, but Doom already had the blueprints and it was already halfway finished. All he needed was mine and Magneto's help. Him betraying us like that was really low. Not even Sabretooth would have gone that low."

Thing snorts and says, "That's what you get for trusting a villain."

"But I did not trust him; he tricked me into calling you for help." He just glares at her angrily. She sighs and says, "Here let me explain. We, that is me and Magneto, did not trust Doom so we watched him. We found out he was going to double cross us and let the aliens attack. So I called you up for help, but it was a trap." She laughs half-heartedly. "I really hate reverse psychology." Thing was still glaring at her, shrugging her shoulders she continues on. "Well you know the rest; we saved you and stopped the attack, and well, yeah." Thing just grunts, Nighttress sighs "Oh well, anyway good night."
