Hello, guys! Did you miss me? Probably or probably not. I've been very busy with school work so I haven't been updating any of my stories but I will try to finish all of my stories. Enjoy!
This is the most excruciating trip I had ever been on. Yao and I were basically stuck in that room for over a week and Yao started to get motion sickness, so he was constantly vomiting.
"Aiyah!" He whined, laying on the floor. "When can we get off this boat, aru? Why did there have to be so many storms this week? Ivan, this is your fault!"
"My fault?" I said confused. "I didn't do anything."
"You wanted to go see the Mafia, aru!"
"No, actually," I corrected, "you did," but Yao ignored me to continue whining.
"Aiyah! 我想回家吧!" I rolled eyes before I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." Heracles opened the cabin door and waved hello.
"The boat will be reaching the dock in about ten minutes," he said in his whisper-like voice.
"Thank you, Shangdi!" Yao yelled in relief. I just shook my head.
Getting out of China seemed easy enough but getting into America was another story. When we reached the port, border control checked everyone's passport that they could see, except for us because we were hiding. When Heracles was sure they were gone, he slowly escorted off the boat.
"Thank you again, Heracles," Yao said, truly relieved to get off the boat.
"No problem," he said quietly. "Tell Kiku I said hi."
"Will do, aru," Yao said with a smile. Heracles smiled as well then went back on the boat. I looked around to get a sense of my surroundings. America didn't look too different from Russia or China, or at least the ports looked the same. I scanned the horizon until I noticed a familiar character.
"Yao?" I began in a nervous tone, pointing at the man as he walked closer to us. The man, though it was night now, was still visibly wearing a gray suit and fedora, but you could see his white hair and you couldn't miss his glowing red eyes.
"Englisch?" He asked in a very thick accent which I later learned to be German. Yao nodded in response. The man then began to speak to Yao in a language I couldn't understand.
"What is he saying?" I asked. Yao chuckled.
"He said his name is Gilbert and he was waiting for us," Yao explained. "Don't you know English, aru?" I opened my mouth in understand. I couldn't tell what language he was speaking because his accent. I took English once in school but I obviously didn't learn enough of it, as if I knew I was going to leave Russia.
"I took one class a long time ago," I sighed. Yao nodded in understanding before the man said something else.
"He also said that he will take us to the safe house," Yao translated. "Then either tomorrow or the day after we will meet the Mafia boss."
"M-mafia boss?" Now so many questions were running through my head that I should've asked before I got on a boat to America. The man then gestured for us to follow him. "Should we trust him?"
"Aiyah," Yao said in a very annoyed voice, "you should've said you didn't want this when we were back in China, aru…"
"Did I have a choice?" Yao gave an exasperated sigh before following Gilbert to his car.
After about an hour, we finally arrived to the safe house though, I didn't know what made this a safe house because it was just a normal townhouse in San Francisco. We got out of the car but I was a bit hesitant to follow. Who knew what waited them when they went inside? What if this was a trap? What if it was the Russian government using foreign nationals to capture him? Yao looked back and released a sigh before grabbing my hand to practically drag me into the house. I was not at all prepared for what I saw inside.
"Vati! Vati!" I had to quickly sidestep out of the way from a cyclone disguised as a young girl darted past me. Then a tall blonde man with piercing blue eyes and disheveled hair stomped past me after her.
"What is this, aru?" Yao mumbled under his breath but it was clearly audible. Gilbert let out a strange laugh then said something to Yao. Then a man with auburn hair and a strange curl somehow floated around the room with his eye closed. Then Gilbert said something else to Yao.
"What did he say?" I asked Yao.
"He said that this man in front of us is Feliciano," Yao explained, "and the other man was Ludwig, Gilbert's brother, and their adopted daughter, Luna, aru." Then the man who was said to be Ludwig came back carrying the little girl named Luna. Then Ludwig said something in a booming voice to his brother, who only laughed. Then Ludwig let out an exasperated sigh then turned to us.
"Deutsch?" Ludwig asked. I shook my head, not knowing what he was saying. "Italienisch?" I shook my head, still not sure of what he was saying. "Englisch?" I recognized that phrase because Gilbert had said this earlier. He meant English but I didn't know enough to understand. Yao instead answered for us. Ludwig slicked his hair back and started speaking to Yao. I stood there awkwardly, not understanding what they were talking about.
"Yao," I interrupted, "What is he saying?" Yao paused then looked at me.
"He was telling me that he and Feliciano are our 'host family' for the time being," Yao translated, "and that he knows that we are here for the Mafia. He also told me that the Mafia boss hasn't been here in a month, aru."
"A month?" I shouted. Did I come all this way for no reason? Than Ludwig said something else.
"He said that he will be back soon," Yao said. "He's just…" He turned to Ludwig and said something and Ludwig responded. "He's just on a trip in Italy." I sighed. So this trip was pointless. Then Feliciano made an odd sound before saying something to Yao, who laughed before saying something else.
"What?" I asked.
"Feliciano noticed that you don't know English and I told him that you're not really good at going to countries and learning their language, aru."
"Ha, ha, ha," I said, unamused. Yao snorted then Feliciano had something else to say. "What did he say now?"
"He said while we're waiting for the Mafia boss, you can learn English," Yao translated, "since we'll be here a while, aru." I rolled my eyes. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to learn English while I wait for this Mafia boss. Little did I know of the trouble of understanding would bring me in the future...
Did you guys enjoy? I wish I could update more often but I very busy so I will try my best. For those who don't know, Luna is a micronation named the Monarchy of the Anatolic Kingdom or just Anatolareich. I've used her before in my stories before so someone might recognize her. As always, read and review and I will see you all next time.
