Chapter 5: What was my parents like? Part 2

Sunday afternoon at the Casagrande Apartment, Lilo is spending time with her cousin Carlota, her grand-aunt Frida, and her material grandma Maria.

Carlota: Well, that's was a interesting episode of Dream Boat. What do you think, Lilo?

Lilo: It was okay, i guess. Anyway, I'm going to the bathroom. I'll be back.

[Lilo got up from the couch and heads to the bathroom]

Frida: Do you think it's time to give her "that"?

Maria: I think so.

[In the bathroom, Lilo is using a towal to dry her face off with it after washing it; after getting done with that, she then looked at her reflection on the mirror and stare at it for a minute]

Young Lilo: [voiceover] Do i really look like my mommy, Uncle Bobby?

Bobby: [voiceover] Yes you do, Lilo. You look exactly like her.

Lilo: [thoughts] Doesn't seem like it to me, Uncle Bobby. But, at least my personality is similar to her though.

[Flashback to Bobby looking at something]

Lilo: Hey, Uncle Bobby!

Bobby: Hey, Little Lilo. How are you?

Lilo: I'm good. What's you looking like?

Bobby: Who this? It's a picture of a very important person i knew. Besides your aunty Lori.

Lilo: Really? Who could be that important to you that's not Aunty Lori?

Bobby: Who do you think? It your mother.

Lilo: Oooooh! [looks at the picture] Hey, she really does look just like me!

Bobby: She really does. Only she doesn't have white hair or her skin is a lighter dark like you got.

Lilo: I can see that, Uncle Bobby. Hey, Uncle, i got a question to ask you?

Bobby: What's that, Lilo?

Lilo: Well, i asked Aunty Lily about what my daddy was when he was younger, so my question is what was my mommy was when she was younger?

Bobby: Well... Your mother was the toughest girl i ever knew.

Lilo: She is?

Bobby: Yep. She was an surly, tough, hardcore tomboy who used to bullied and humiliated your dad frequently.

Lilo: She did? Why?

Bobby: From what i heard from your Aunty Lori, she only did that because she had a crush on him but she was too shy and prideful to admit it. So she did cruel pranks to gain his attention.

Lilo: She got a weird and mean way to express her love to him.

Bobby: Yeah, well that what your mother were like when she was younger. But despite being the toughest and meanest girl, she is also sensitive, insecure and fragile and also compassionate, forgiving, grateful and kind. [sigh] I really miss her.

Lilo: I bet you do, Uncle. [sigh] I wish i met her.

Bobby: I know, Lilo. I know. [comfort Lilo]

Lilo: Uncle Bobby, do you think I'll ever meet my parents?

Bobby: I not sure, Nie-Nie. I'm not really sure.

Lilo: [sad] Oh...

[Bobby looked heartbroken from seeing his niece sad]

Lori: [enters] Well, there is one way you can see them alive. But i think you need to be a little older for that to happen.

Lilo: There is? What is it? Tell me!

Lori: Calm down and i will tell you. [Lilo calm down and listen to what her auntie have to say] You can ask Lisa to make you an machine or something so you can go see your Mom and Dad when they are still alive. But you have to be old enough to do so.

Lilo: Hmmm, a machine or something so i can meet my mommy and daddy when they are still alive, huh? Okay, i will!

Lori: Good. Now come on, little one. Let's go see your Aunty Leni and Aunty Lola at the mall.

Lilo: Okay! Bye, Uncle!

[Lori and Lilo left to go meet Leni and Lola at the mall, leaving Bobby to look at more pictures of his little sister. End flashback]

Lilo: Huh. The more i think of it, the more i can tell that i am my mother's daughter. Am i, Uncle Bobby?

[Lilo hears someone knocking on the door]

Lilo: Come in!

[The door opens to reveal Maria, Frida and Carlota]

Maria: Lilo, we been thinking. Since you is around the age your mother was before she and Lincoln dated, we have decided to give you something.

Carlota: [reveals Ronnie Anne's old purple hooded sweatshirt] Tada! It's your mother's old sweatshirt.

Lilo: Mom's old sweatshirt? Why are you showing me that?

Frida: Because it's your now.

Lilo: It is? Why?

Maria: As a gift your mother left for you. It's okay if you don't want it. We can put it back in the box where we found it.

Lilo: It's fine. It looks kinda cool. And if my mom used to wear this, it would be fitting if i wore it.

Maria: That's good to hear.

Lilo: If you three don't mind, i want to be alone for a bit.

Maria: Okay, we'll be in the living room if you need us.

[Maria closes the door and her, Frida and Carlota headed back to the living room. After they left, Lilo puts on her mother's old sweatshirt and looks at her reflection in the mirror]

Lilo: Yep, it really does settles it. I am really my mother's daughter.
