Chapter Six
They arrived back in Grimmauld Place; his lips still on hers. "Sirius we shouldn't..." His lips assaulted her neck, taking off her coat. He didn't know what was coming over him, but he wanted this, needed her. He rarely looked at her in this way, Remus would kill him, but he could not deny she was beautiful even if she forgot herself. He wanted to remind her she was wanted even when she felt so broken. "Sirius...oh god yes...but we shouldn't..." He looked up at her, a seductive smile on his face, her knees weakened and her hands reached up into his hair as she brought his lips down on her own. "Sirius...this is wrong..." She panted out as he began to place feather light kisses to her jaw line.
He sighed and pulled away, his hands framing her jaw line. "You're right...we shouldn't but god Kitten, don't we need this, and don't we deserve it?" He kissed her again, "been so long...I..." He kissed her again; one hand gently caressed her arm sending electricity through her veins. "Haven't we always had this spark...?"
She couldn't deny that they had a spark, something different than what she had with Remus. She couldn't deny that she needed this; it had been so long since she had felt this animalistic need to be with someone and he needed it too.
She pushed him against the wall, unbuttoning his shirt and pushing it from his shoulders, her nails grazing down his back electing a small moan to escape his lips. He picked her up and carried her up the staircase. He put her down in front of her door; "are you sure?" She kicked the door open and pulled him into her room by his jean loops, her eyes never leaving his. She pushed him onto the bed, unzipping her dress before him as he watched it pool by her feet. "Kitten, are you sure?" He couldn't believe he was still asking but she was different, she was his friend and tomorrow morning they would be just that. She stood in front of him, "Sirius please, just shut up and kiss me." He pulled her to him, her legs wrapping around his waist, her bra joining her dress on the floor. "Oh I'm going to do a lot more than that Kitten."
The following morning they awoke in each other's arms. She looked up at him and as their eyes caught they laughed. Nothing had changed, they were still the same two people as yesterday, still friends and one heated night wouldn't change that.

A few months had passed since Charlie's leaving party and things had quickly turned back to normal, with the exception of Bill and Katarina not talking, except for pleasantries at family gatherings. Work had kept her busy and her mind from wondering. She spent more time with Hermione and Ginny planning the future Potter's wedding and when she wasn't at work she kept herself busy at home.
It was a frosty morning, the full moon was just a week away and Katarina was busy in the potions lab of the house mixing up the wolfsbane potion Remus would require. She heard the door creak as Remus came down the stairs into the room. He came in with a cup of tea and her favourite biscuits. On the tray with the tea was a thick cream envelope. Remus took the letter and joined the two in bed. "You need to open this. It has just arrived...that blasted owl of your fathers is a vicious little thing."
She sat on the stool, setting the potion to stir itself as she read the letter, "It seems my father is coming to visit in a month's time...and he's bringing a friend – my future husband he believes."
She dropped the letter onto the table with a sigh. She had a month, a month to live life the way she wanted. She never thought that life was too short, as the muggles thought but now she felt like she would explode at any moment. "Thank you for the tea Remus." He took that as his time to leave and he left her in the soothing silence. Once the potion was ready she bottled it and stored it away. She took off her apron and took a quick look in the mirror before going to the fireplace.
She had a month to do things her way. She would start by taking some time away from work, she had enough holiday to take a month away. Life was short when decisions were being made for you and she had a little while left of making her own.
She took the floo powder and threw it into the fire, "Shell Cottage." And she disappeared within the green flames.
