Note: Hi Everybody! Thank you so much for reviewing and giving me your thoughts on the story. I will try to write longer chapters but its hard to write so much and not feel like I'm dragging you all through unnecessary writing. My Hercules chapter was my second most viewed chapter besides chapter 1, I just want to remind everyone this isn't gonna be a Herc story, I'm sorry if that disappoints anyone, I'll write a Hercules fan fiction for all of those people after this one :) Anyway thank you for reading!
Meg View!
Darkness however not darkness of the night but eyes closed darkness was the first thing Meg thought of. She stretched a bit from her stiff bones and felt a familiar bed beneath her. She didn't realize what this meant for a second then she panicked, her eyes flying open. Meg's eye adjusted quickly enough and what she saw next surprised her.
A sleeping Hades! He was slumped in a chair with his arms crossed, his jaw was slacked in a very relaxed way. Meg never thought Hades slept, she didn't know any god slept for that matter. She looked around the room and saw that it was her own but all of her items were thrown about. This is exactly why Pain and Panic aren't allowed in her room! Meg's anger for the imps died down immediately once she remembered the last thing that happened to her. She wasn't with Hercules anymore, this hit her hard, she felt a sinking feeling in her stomach.
Why had Hades brought her back here?
"Well look who's up" She looked over to Hades who was looking at her while he sat up again and fixed his clothes.
"H-H-Hades."
"Geez don't look so shaken up babe, you gotta eat something, at this rate that dress is gonna fall off your bones. I expect you in the dining hall soon."
Hades stood up and the chair by the bed disappeared, Hades rushed out of her room without her even moving a muscle yet.
Meg slowly sat up from her bed and swung her leg over the bed. How long as she been out of it? Last place she remembered was by a creek after her talk with Hercules. How did she get back to her room in the Underworld, with the ruler of it by her bedside. Meg hugged her arms around her self and realized she was bone thin. She'd never been this thin in a long time.
Meg decided she had better go eat something after she changed clothes and brushed the leaves and twigs out of her hair. She placed her hands on the bed to push herself when her palm felt something oddly silky in her sheets. She looked down to find a black handkerchief in her hand. She brought it up to her face to look at it, it had a embroidered H on it in grey thread. Meg's face turned a crimson red knowing it was Hades'. She didn't want to look at it so she hurriedly placed it in her night table drawer and closed it with a slam.
Meg stood up and her legs almost gave out under her but she toughed it out, she had to get strong again. Meg searched her room for her hairbrush and found it under a pile of empty perfume bottles. She picked everything out of her hair till it was smooth and changed her dress to a purple one.
Meg then walked the corridors till she arrived at the dining area once again. She hoped it didn't end up with her being teleported away. She walked into the dining room where all the normal food was prepared for her plus more but Hades wasn't here yet if he was gonna be here at all. She sat down at the long table and started eating an apple and a bundle of grapes.
She heard a duo of footsteps approaching from down the hall. The two demons entered the room and excitedly came up to Meg.
"Hey Meg! We are glad to have to awake again."
"Yea Hades really missed you even if he may not show it."
"We are sorry about your room, but that was only way of trying to wake you up!"
"It didn't work but now we won't mess up your room for a long time to come."
Meg huffed and swallowed. "Thanks for your help boys, I'm sure in someway I knew to wake up because of you."
The imps high fived and made their way to whatever they were doing.
Meg ate till she was almost sick, either eat or she may not make it another day. Meg wandered back to her room to start the clean up. She picked up all her things and dresses and organized them back to where they were supposed to be. All of her lotions and perfumes were used up by the imps so she would have to go buy more. After her room was back to its original state, she sat back down on her bed. She leaned down and rubbed her face as she groaned into her hands.
So she is back in the Underworld, this time she isn't hiding from anyone and she is free as a bird. What to do with her freedom is the question. Well she may as well start by discussing with Hades where she stands here. She hopes its in good standing because well somehow she ended up back here.
Meg traveled to the throne room where Hades usually is but no Hades there. She checked the dinning room where the food was cleared till dinner to also find no Hades. She wasn't allowed in Hades living quarters but that was probably where he was if no where else. She wasn't going to go searching through Hades personal space so Meg decided to go replace all the items she had lost from the imps adventure.
Megara went back to her room and gathered everything she would need to go out shopping. She got her money out and placed it in a bag and wrapped a cloak around her so she wouldn't be stared at or cause anything to happen to her. While on her way out of the Underworld she came across Pain and Panic again and she told them that if Hades came looking for her that she will be back soon. They agreed and they made her way to Charon who only would take her across for coins so she gave him a coin and they crossed the river.
Meg exited the Underworld and made her way to Thebes which was the nearest town she could travel to in her condition. It was only a short walk till she arrived in the market place. It was a dark day so it wasn't as busy as it usually was. Meg walked to the many vendors, buying all new items along with a few new dresses and shoes to replace old ones. By the end of her shopping it was almost sundown so She made her way back to the Underworld.
She gave Charon a coin and they made their way across the river till she saw Hades on the other side seemingly waiting for her.
"Hey my little nutmeg where have you been all day?"
"I went shopping to replace all the things your little helpers destroyed. See?" Meg held up her bag to Hades who looked down at her unimpressed.
"Well you certainly shouldn't be going out. After all you just only rejoined the world this morning!" Hades' hair and fire raised around him but not turning red.
"Why do you care so much? I'm allowed to do what I want now! I have every bit of my freedom." that seemed to shut him up because Meg turned her nose up at Hades and walked back to her wing.
Hades View!
Hades stood by the end of the river with his mouth open and finger up then turned around to see the disappearing silhouette of the only color in the Underworld. Hades closed his mouth and rubbed his jaw while thinking. She did have every bit of her freedom and Hades had no control of her. The spicy heroine of lady Meg seems to be resurfacing.
Hades walked back up to his throne room to rethink things. He sat back in his throne and closed his eyes, deep in thought. Should he let Meg stay and come and go as she pleased? Should he kick her out?Should he make another deal to somehow control her?
Hades didn't want to own another mortal because it never served him very well. And Meg would never agree to another deal like the previous one without truly good reason for it. What to do with lovely nutmeg. Hades liked control in his domain and Megara was the one thing he couldn't control.
It was about time for the evening meal so Meg would show up to eat at the dining hall like always. Hades made his way to the dining hall and joined Meg who was already eating her body weight which at this point wasn't very much. Hades picked at a bowl of eyes balls while he watched Meg from across the table.
She was ignoring him but seemed like something was eating at her.
"So Meg what do you plan to do without the heavenly ball and chain and with all your freedom?"
Meg looked up from her food to look at Hades square in the eye. "I don't know however I'd like to talk about where I stand here with you."
"Well that's entirely up to you babe. Did you want to stay here or did you want to go live off in the mortal world in some forest or busy city? You never seemed like a crazy forest nymph or talky city girl."
"I don't want to leave just yet if its all the same to you oh lord of the dead."
Hades winced from the nickname and the strange feeling he felt from having Meg stay. "Well your allowed to stay as long as you want but I'd like to start some under ground rules if your going to stay."
Meg glared at Hades with suspicion. "Fine we can have rules."
Hades grinned and started to state the rules.
"Firstly I'd like you to agree not to run off or go anywhere without telling me, I'd really hate for you to go missing again. Secondly I'd like you to regain your strength again, a dead mortal isn't something I need more around here. Last and thirdly babe I'd like some form of compensation for you staying down here. We can decide on it later. Deal?"
Meg studied Hades hard and thought about her answer carefully. "Deal."
