AN: All right I know I haven't updated, any of my stories for a while and for that I apologize. I have been getting into the routine of returning to school so I haven't had much time for creativity. But I haven't given up on any of my stories so updates will be more frequently. Also I have one announcement to make for this story, in a few chapters the Charmed Ones will each gain a new power. Most of them are already figured out but Prue, Chris, Kairi and Wyatt still need a new power I will give credit to those who's suggested I chose. Also Chris, Wyatt and Kairi's powers have to be more powerful than the rest. Here are the new powers already chosen.
Intangibility
Super Speed
Sonic Scream
Temporary Mimicry
Invisibility
Anyone who can guess which power will go to which chosen Charmed One will be mentioned. Here's a hint, some of these powers match their personality.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but Kairi and my two best friends own Maria and Crystal separately. Now on with the story.
After discussing with the others my plan we decided that I would drive my car partway and Maria would orb me the rest of the way. The next day I slipped on a white elbow length button up shirt with the collar turned down, a black V-neck vest over it buttoned up, grey skinny jeans and black combat boots. For jewelry I put on a silver necklace, silver sparkly dangly earrings, and silver and black bangles on my wrist. I straightened my hair and applied some grey eye shadow, pink lipstick, light red blush and black sparkly nail polish. After school I faced the other high school Charmed Ones,
"Are you sure about this?" Chris asked the question we were all thinking. I nodded,
"Everything happens for a reason, we know that now." I responded.
"She's right," Wyatt agreed, "we were meant to get that call. The town of Forks and that reservation is full of innocents that are in danger. They are our responsibility now." Everyone nodded and I said goodbye.
"Good luck." Melinda and Prue said simultaneously.
"Watch out for the vamps." Henry reminded me sternly.
"Be careful." Chris added. Wyatt stepped up to me and embraced me.
"What they all said and also don't forget to block their memories when you leave." He whispered in my ear before kissing me. "Be safe, I love you." He finished.
"I love you too." I responded before getting into my car and beginning the long drive.
(A Few Hours Later)
After two and a half hours I finally parked in an isolated area. I scanned the area and felt that the only mind there was mine.
"Maria!" I called looking up to the sky. The familiar flurry of blue and white lights came and Maria materialized in the passenger seat.
"Ready?" She asked. I nodded and she orbed the car a few miles away from La Push. I drove the rest of the way and soon came up to Emily's home. I could hear voices and knew that a lot of people were in there. I took a deep breath and got out of the car walking to the front door. I knocked and Emily opened it. She took one look at me and squealed.
"Kairi!" She greeted throwing her arms around me. I smiled and hugged her back (btw the pack, council and Emily know how I really look I projected an image once).
"Hi, Emily." I said she pulled me inside and a lot of people stared but I quickly ran to the pack.
"Sam! Paul! Jared!" I exclaimed as they pulled me into a hug.
"Hey Kairi." Sam greeted.
"It's good to see you Witch Girl." Paul said using his special nickname for me.
"And to meet the real you." Jared finished. I then walked over to the council.
"Hi Billy, Old Quil." I greeted bowing my head. Old Quil laughed.
"Young lady, our bones our old do you really expect us to hug you first?"
"Now come and hug us." Billy ordered. I smiled and hugged them both.
"Where's Harry?" I asked realizing he wasn't here.
"He's dead." Came a voice, I turned and saw a woman with her arms around a tall young boy and girl.
"I'm very sorry. I didn't know." I apologized.
"Who are you?" The woman asked coolly, "I know all the pack and their imprints. I have never met you." I scoffed and raised my eyebrows.
"Excuse me?" Before I could lose my temper and control of my powers
(I have been known to have an extremely short fuse) Paul and Jared lifted me up by my arms and sat me on a couch between them.
"Sue, we let you take Harry's place on the council, but do not insult a friend of the tribe." Billy warned. I then looked around to see a lot more pack members.
"Wow Sam, when you said the pack had grown you weren't kidding." Old Quil stood up.
"Everyone, this is Kairi Jenkins. Introduce yourselves."
"I'm Embry." A boy standing near Jacob began.
"I'm Quil Jr." A boy said near.
"I'm Jacob." Jacob said eyeing me.
"I'm Colin." Another said.
"I'm Brady." The boy next to him spoke.
"I'm Seth and this is my sister Leah." The boy next to his mother (I assume) finished. I nodded.
"Hi." I greeted.
"So, why are you here?" Jacob asked.
"She's here to help with the Cullen situation." Sam answered as he and Emily sat near me and the boys.
"How can a little girl help?" Sue asked.
"Okay! I am eighteen." I started standing up and striding into the middle of the room. "And second I can help because a few months ago… I was Bella Swan." Everyone looked at me like I was insane.
"Ha, no you weren't." Jacob laughed. "I knew Bella, your lying."
"She's not lying son." Billy sternly told Jacob.
"And for the record, now do you understand that Sam's crew is fine?" His eyes widened.
"Bella?" He whispered, and I nodded. "But, how?"
"Magic, I'm a witch." I stated calmly. The ones who knew looked fine but everyone else again looked at me like I am insane.
"That's not true. Witches don't exist." The girl Leah said striding up to face me. I crossed my arms and smirked.
"Oh, but we do. You just don't know it since we blend in." I replied.
"Billy, Old Quil, is this what you both and Harry have brought us to help?" Sue asked standing up also, "Some girl who says she was Bella Swan, a vampire lover, and now says she is a witch? This has to stop!" I rolled my eyes and finally decided enough was enough.
"I'd stop berating me if I was you." I threatened. Every eye was on me.
"Or what? What can you do, child?" Sue challenged. I shrugged.
"I warned you." I brought my hand down and suddenly a flame appeared in the palm of my hand, everyone who didn't know about my powers gasped. I made the flame grow bigger and then extinguished it.
'Believe me now?' I asked telepathically before returning to my seat.
"She really is a witch." Leah gasped.
"Technically, I am a half witch half Elemental, that's someone who is connected with the elements." I corrected.
"Dad!" Jacob protested rising to his feet. "How could you guys let someone like that on the reservation? She lied about everything! We know nothing about her. She could be worse than those leeches!"
"Oi! I am a good witch." I protested.
"Son she is not dangerous. She is a friend of the tribe." Billy responded. He then noticed Jacob was trembling, "We cannot harm her Jacob."
"That's right, stand down, Jake. That's an order." Sam commanded in his "Alpha Tone".
"How is she a friend of the tribe?" Embry asked curiously as Jacob calmed down.
"Do you all remember the Warren Truce?" Old Quil asked.
"I do, some of our ancestors made a pact with a Wiccan named Prudence Warren and her family." Seth jumped in. Old Quil nodded,
"That is not the whole tale," He admitted, "Only the Alpha, the Elders and active pack members can know the truth. Were it not for this problem with the Cullen family, you all would have been informed of this information at the next tribal meeting. In reality Prudence Warren was a witch and the active pack found her and her three children near the reservation. She was fighting a monster that in the witch's world is known as a demon. She defeated it and the pack thought she was a danger, she begged them not to harm her or her daughters. She explained while there were evil witches known as warlocks, she and her family followed the Wiccan code of protecting the innocent not punishing the guilty. The tribe voted and believed her. A truce was struck between her world and ours, witches would not harm us and we would not harm them unless one side initiated it first. The Warren lineage especially is not meant to be touched as they are the most powerful line of good witches in the world."
"But your last name is Jenkins, not Warren." Leah pointed out to me.
"The name Warren eventually descended into the name Halliwell." I explained, "The Halliwells in the last two decades bought into the magical world the Charmed Ones."
"Who are they?" Quil asked.
"The most powerful good witches of all time. There are two generations; the first consisted of the Power of Three. And the most recent consists of the Power of Ten. I am not a Warren or a Halliwell but I am a member of the Power of Ten along with the children of the original Power of Three. So that's why I am not to be harmed, I am a Charmed One and therefore a member of the Warren line in all but blood." I explained, plus there's the whole I date the leader of the Charmed Ones but I didn't think they needed to know that just yet. "So, you called me here. Obviously you need some magical help, spill." I ordered sitting back down. Billy nodded to Sam.
"Well, you already know about the vampires." I nodded, "The Cullen's came back about a month ago. And don't worry; Charlie stuck to your cover story that you moved back in with his ex-wife and your mental shield held up so we're good." I nodded, "Anyway we thought with them back we could handle that redhead but she…" I raised my eyebrows,
"She what, Sam?" I questioned.
"She is creating a vampire newborn army to come and attack us. Have you heard about the disappearances and murders in Seattle?" I nodded shocked. "That's what's causing them, according the physic pixie; the disappearances are caused by her turning them into vampires and the murders are- you can guess."
"Them feeding." I replied before standing up and pacing. "This is bad, not only did she screw up and destroy way too many innocent lives, there's no telling how many potential whitelighters or even gifted people she turned. But she also just upped the exposer rate which the Charmed Ones are normally on top of because if not, Seattle is getting a visit from the Cleaners, soon." I finished before looking at the pack, "When are they coming?"
"Next Saturday." Billy answered, I began to think.
"Okay, I think that me and the other Charmed Ones can formulate a plan to fix this, because it's probably our only shot." I said mostly to myself, "Sam, if we come up with a plan, will you help us?" Sam nodded,
"That's why I called you; we are loyal to you and your friends when it comes to choosing a side, not the Cullen's." I nodded again then looked at the council including Sue.
"I need to know we have permission to use a great deal of magic. It's our most effective way." Billy and Old Quil nodded but Sue looked calculating before stepping up to me.
"You are a good witch?" I nodded, "And you will protect everyone in this town and Forks?" Again I nodded.
"We are the protectors of the innocent. As long as we are still breathing, no harm will come to this area if we can help it." Sue then held out her hand.
"I apologize for us starting off on the wrong foot. May we start over?" I nodded and shook her hand.
"That would be nice." Leah came up to me and also shook my hand.
"It would be nice to have another friend who's not an imprint." She told me with sincerity.
"Awesome, I have a feeling we will get on just fine. For a Wolf Girl, you're pretty cool."
"Same to you, Witch Girl." Leah countered with a smile. Jacob then stepped up.
"So you're not really Bella?" He asked disappointed. I shook my head,
"Sorry, Jacob, that was just a persona. I'm the exact opposite, and I know you had a crush on Bella, but I have a boyfriend." He nodded.
"All right, I think you have everything you need, Kairi." Old Quil told me. I nodded,
"Do you want to stay for dinner?" Emily asked. I shook my head.
"I'd love to, but I need to head out, I promised Wyatt I'd be back ASAP. And now I need to brief the others so we can see if anything can be undone or at least not end in more bloodbaths." I then bid everyone goodbye and headed home.
(Back at Halliwell Manor)
"What?!" The other Charmed Ones exclaimed as I told them what I had just learned. We all hung around the basement of Halliwell manor which we also used for training.
"Is she trying to get us exposed?!" Persephone shrieked.
"Or worse, a visit from-" Henry began but was interrupted.
"From us?" A voice came from behind us. We all jumped up into our usual line which was Persephone, Penny, Prue, Melinda, Wyatt, Me, Chris, Henry, Patty, and Izzy. On the stairs stood the people we didn't want to see, the Cleaners. Wyatt looked ready to either summon Excalibur or put up a force field so I put a hand on his chest.
'Relax. Let's see what they want first. Last thing we need is for something to go wrong.' I soothed telepathically. His hands came to rest on my waist and I tried to send soothing emotions he could feel through his empathy.
"What do you two want?" Chris growled.
"I think you all know." The lead Cleaner told us.
"Butt out." Patty ordered shocking us but we quickly recovered.
"Yeah!" Izzy agreed.'
"You're trespassing by the way." Melinda told them.
"Will you all stop acting like children?" The second cleaner asked sarcastically.
"Nope, news flash, most of us are children." Henry countered.
"Now what are you two doing intruding on our lives again?" Wyatt asked.
Now, I bet you all are wondering, 'Okay, what's with the hostility?' Well, it's a long and complicated story so I'll spare you by giving you the cliff notes version. Last year we accidently revealed magic to Tiege when we were vanquishing a demon in the woods on a school camping trip. Tiege recorded the entire thing then played it at a pep rally. Unfortunately that just happened to be on Friday the 13th. And a certain demon of fear, cough-cough, Barbas happened to feed off that fear. We managed to vanquish him but just barely. The Cleaners came to clean up but they cleaned it up by making us out to be juvenile delinquents and the damage caused by the demon attacks was us vandalizing school property. So we took a page from the original Charmed Ones book. We goaded them into fixing everything by revealing more and more magic. Eventually they did because they knew they couldn't erase us or it would tip the scale. So, long story short, there is a lot of hostility between us and them.
"We came to give you a fair warning." Cleaner 1, which is what I will call them from now on, told us.
"You should have been on top of the Seattle situation. It's your job." Cleaner 2 reminded us.
"We didn't know, okay?" I told them, "It didn't hit the news until recently. We had no evidence that supernatural forces were involved. To us it just looked like a creepy serial killer or something like that."
"Plus, we have other responsibilities and, oh, what is that word I'm looking for, oh yeah lives!" Penny jumped in.
"We see." Cleaner 2 said looking calculating.
"In light of that we will give you a chance to make things right." Cleaner 1 finally told us, "Clean up the mess. Or we will." They then disappeared.
"We better do this right. Otherwise-" Wyatt began.
"We're screwed." We all said together.
