"Whatcha want to do today?"

Jet shrugs, "I saw that the castle has a library...could we go there?"

Turbo sits up a little, "You can't read."

"Y-yeah...but you could help me out...or read to me...please?"

The older sighs, "Very well, let's get ready after we finish eating."

The two tuck into their pancakes with a comfortable silence between them.

-{±}-

Turbo looks at Jet as he younger comes over, his hair still wet from the shower he just took. The boy smiles up at him, "Ready?"

One sigh and a hesitant nod later the two were strolling down the hallway towards two big swirl chocolate doors. Turbo pushes one open and stops; the room was a two floor, detailed, and surprisingly light. Books lined dark chocolate shelves, some simply a programmed skin but Jet sees several book cases of real books. He rushes up to one of them, fingers brushing over unused spines. He could tell they were about the Sugar Rush racers, "Turbo...what books are these?"

He looks back as his partner walks up behind him, Turbo blinks, "Character Development, wow...their programmers were very thorough in creating this game. What books are you looking for?"

Jet thinks for a moment and searched through another shelf. Careful fingers glide over book spines till he pauses, he had come across a very beaten and bare spine. He carefully pulls the book out and gasps; the book was a TurboTime book. The familiar cover makes Jet almost drop it as if it was on fire. Memories swirl in his head.

-{+}-

"Hey! Hey guys look what I found!"

Shift purrs happily as he runs up to the others. Jet peeks out from under Drift's scarf and yawns. Turbo looks up from working on Jet's kart, it needed a tune-up. Drift simply let's a question mark appear above his head. Shift grins, "Come on..guess!"

Turbo quirks an eyebrow, "Your dignity? Oh, that bra of Melinda's you lost? Or maybe- ow!"

Drift had smacked Turbo for his snarky comments, glaring venomously at him. His brother frowns and blushes, looking away in embarrassment. Jet perks up and snuggles against Drift's chest to calm him down.

"Um...that book?"

Shift blinks and nods, "Yea, it's a book the three of us started back when we were just plugged in, I've been looking for it so we can update it. I found it under my bed! Drift you got a pen?"

Jet however wants to see what was all ready written. He gives slight grabby hands, Shift gives the book to him uneasily. Jet smiles and opens it, he falters at the sight of words. He couldn't even read, the little sprite looks at the others, embarrassment painting his face red. Turbo seems to realize his lover's problem, he waltzes over and gently takes the book from him. Covering Jet's illiteracy he exclaims, "Damn Shift! Your write like Q*bert! No wonder Jet can't read this!"

Drift was impressed by Turbo's quick cover up, he holds Jet against his chest, kissing the top of his head. The white clad racer leans against the hood of Jet's kart and clears his throat.

"A story of three racers. Once there a spark and just like that, three Teens started life. They each had a kart and itch to race. Two were brothers; Shift and Drift. Dressed in blue and the NPCs of our game, good ol' TurboTime. The leader of this game of course wasn't us, but Turbo, clad in red and white and little on the short side-HEY!"

Jet jumps at Turbo's bark, Drift just rolls his eyes and buries his face in Jet's hair. Shift grins mischievously and just motions Turbo to continue reading. The disgruntled racer huffs and picks up where he had left off.

"He is our leader, our friend and brother...we are happy. The players love us, even though we're considered 'bad guys', Turbo's a good sport about it and holds races after arcade hours for equal competition. But lately the players don't come to us as often, our loyal player Rose keeps us going. Litwak has been talking about adding an update to us, we wait quite eagerly...Um... that's it."

Turbo looks up, he pulls out a pen and clicks it. He begins writing, "Litwak held to his word, an update was added to our game. Shift and Drift could now be played, but a new racer came with it. His name's Jet, he's a little sprite with blue, red and white on his jumpsuit. We consider him our friend, brother or even rival. We love him and never really knew we needed him in our existence till he appeared. All I can say is that we are happier with him here, our fourth misadventuring Teen."

Jet was crying when Turbo closed the book and untangles himself from Drift, running up and tackling him. Shift and Drift both grin softly and join in on the hug.

-{+}-

Jet opens the book, he still couldn't read it but he turned the pages till the blue ink of Shift's pen turn to the red of Turbo's. He turns the pages slowly till foreign handwriting appear on the worn pages. He turns, puzzled, "Turbo...what does this say?"

The older Teen takes the book and begins to read it, silently.

-To Shift, Drift, or Jet. Oh sweet Jet, I'm so sorry for what I've done to you. I wish I had the guts to tell you how sorry I am, for everything. Now I took away our home, all because of my rampant greed. But this may be the last chance I have to tell you all my deepest regrets. As I sit here, tears dripping down my face I feel an evil inside me, I think I got a virus from RoadBlasters. I'm getting weaker and I don't know what will happen. So...Shift, I'm sorry for the hell I caused you. I was jealous, you are a formidable racer. I admit to tampering with your kart. *tear drop* I caused your crashes, I'm sorry! I know this will never make up for the pain you feel now but it's all I can give you. To Drift, I thank you for all you've ever done for them. Sometimes I wondered if you should have killed me when I got Jet drunk and hurt him. He deserves so much than the cruelty I showed him. I think he loves you more than me, I hope he does. Please watch out for him. To Jet, my sweet innocent love. I don't know why you ever loved me, you were abused and still you stayed. Why? Why did you stay? Please...love please find someone who will love you better than I ever could. *blood spot with a few tear stains* If I ever see you again, please know I am sorry, it was never you. You are sweet and kind and perfect! I dragged you down and I'm so sorry. Please, no matter what, keep being the perfect sprite you are. I love all, and I'm sorry. This is my last regards, your leader, friend and brother Turbo-

Turbo covers his mouth in horror, as he turns the page it's been ripped out. Tears streamed down his face as he looks at the curious innocent eyes staring up at him worriedly.

"Turbo? What's wrong? What does it say?"

Turbo places the book and hugs him tightly, further confusing the boy. He squirms in his grasp till a tiny sob comes from his love. Jet looks down at Turbo before returning the hug, "Turbo...please don't cry...what did it say? Why did it make you cry?"

Turbo sniffles and just stays there, whispering 'I love you' over and over into Jet's shoulder. The younger just runs a hand through Turbo's hair, turning to calm him down enough to get a coherent explanation from him.

-{o}-

Jet never got his explanation from Turbo, the racer had brushed the issue aside once he calmed down. He decided to drop the questions and go investigate the other bookshelves. Turbo had tucked the book and a journal he found in a place he could easily return to. Jet's fingers drum over undamaged spines curiously, "Turbo can you help me find the castle's blueprints?"

Said racer was looking at a book with information on the Sugar Rush karts, at the mention of his name he looks up.

"What?"

Jet glances back, "Can you help me find the castle blueprints?"

Turbo closes the book, placing it with the others. Walking over to the smaller he begins searching for what Jet asked. Soon a colorful book catches his eye, carefully he pulls it out and Jet's eyes light up. It was the book he needed, Jet takes it eagerly.

"Yay! Maybe there's a place in the castle for us to stay. And out of the others sight. We could be ourselves...without others judging.."

He skims through the pages and dogears the page he needed to look at later. Turbo looks over at his own chosen books, "Anything else you want to do?"

"Um, sure."

"What is it?"

"Explore! I think there's some fun stuff to find here! Come on!"

Turbo sighs and reminds Jet, "Your trunk?"

That didn't put a damper on the younger's mood, who hopped over to the door, "You have to drive me! Come on!" With that Jet opens the door and glitches away. Turbo sighs and follows him, glancing once more at his two books.

-{o}-

The drive was short and quiet, clearly Jet was still thinking about what to do for today. When they pull up to Jet's kart, the boy glitch jumps into his, "Turbo you stay here I'll be back." Off he went, tearing up the Rainbow Bridge and in seconds he was gone.

As he winds through the tunnel, he's still thinking of something. Upon driving out of the terminal he found his idea. Smiling like a giddy child he drives over to the Fix-it-Felix terminal, there it was the trunk was sitting there ready to be taken. Jet changes it to smaller dimensions and puts it in the truck. One hop, skip and a jump, Jet is in his kart and driving through the tunnel once more. Without stopping he zips past Turbo, "Catch me if you can!" He howls back at him. It takes less than five seconds for Turbo to be chasing Jet down. Weaving and dodging candy landscape the two race home, Jet in a slim lead. But Turbo slams on the gas, speeding in front of him and off he goes! That activates normally dormant code lines in Jet, the boy holds the wheel tighter, leans down in his seat and gorges marks in the soft chocolate ground. The two tear tracks as they blaze a trail home but Turbo realizes they didn't come up with anything to do today, yet what could they do? Perhaps after lunch they'll think of something. Unfortunately he knew they'd have to wait for the arcade to close, oh well.

-{o}-

The race had left chocolate caked in their karts so they had to wash out the wheel wells before going to lunch. Jet had won their little and was giddy during lunch but the rush fell after they were full. They were currently laying idly on the couches. The smaller is sitting upside down on the marshmallow cushions while Turbo buried his face into the white fluffiness.

Jet looks at Turbo, "I want to explore~" He whines childishly to his partner, boredom laced through his words so thickly even a deaf sprite could hear it. The white clad racer chuckles, maybe it would do them good to explore another game. "Alright, where to?" He asks gently as he drapes himself over the couch arm. A silence descended as little Jet thought it over, even littlest J-Bug is quiet as he naps in the cookie tire he calls a bed. Turbo had just closed his eyes when Jet squeaks and giggles.

"Jurassic Park! Let's go there!"

Turbo jumps off the couch in fright, "What!? Why?!"

Jet bounces eagerly like a kid, "Wanna see dinosaurs! Come on let's go!"

With that Jet glitches through the door, clearly heading down to the garage for his kart. Turbo whines, putting on his helmet and running after his overly eager friend. By the time he gets down Jet's already in his kart, "Come on, come on, come on slowpoke! Get in your kart!"

Turbo sighs and smiles, hopping into his kart and starting the Red Streak up. Oh how he loves the purr and vibrations that come from his baby. Jet bounces again and opens the garage door, mashing the pedal down and tearing out. He left Turbo in a cloud of chocolate dust, said racer pursed his lips, "Well damn like our first race didn't do enough damage.

Once the racers got to the bridge it was a short trip to GHS. Turbo had tried to grab his little excited friend but Jet was out of reach and still running...right to Jurassic park..

"Oh mod he was serious..." He swallows nervously and follows after him but missed the train that the little goofball jumped on. "No...no no no...come on.." He huffs nervously and paces around till the empty train returns. He shivers softly and gets in. As he gets closer to the game the dinosaurs' roars scare him to a trembling little mess. The racer climbs out and looks around fearfully.

"J-Jet where are you?"

A roar is all he gets, and luminescent eyes staring at him from the shadows.
